Once I arrived at the shop for my appointment, one of the barbers informed me that David did not come in today. In addition, all the others were busy so they could not accommodate me for the day. As a small business owner myself, customer experience and communication is top priority. They should have not allowed any customers to book appointments online if David will not be in the shop. Met David while going to "The Hair Doctors" near UC Riverside. My first time seeing David was during a drop-in and he was nice enough to squeeze me into his busy schedule. Now getting into the actual cut itself: David is an extremely skilled barber who gets the job done perfectly. Initially he asked me the standard, "what kind of haircut do you want?" Told him what I was looking for and he responded with recommendations as to what would look good with my hair type and desired style. Eventually we found a good middle ground and he began to cut. The whole time throughout the cut, he made sure that the length was correct, the fade was to where I wanted it, etc. Basically his attention to detail is immaculate. Because of this, I was able to get the exact haircut I wanted. It looked amazing the day he cut my hair and it looked just as amazing the day I came back to cut it again. Got my first cut today from David, he's solid. Even though I didn't book my appointment an hour in advance, he still worked on my hair. He's real detailed, as he asked me precise questions as to how I'd like my hair styled such as: *If I'd like a lineup *How much of my hair would I like to have cut off *If I wanted a line across (as the combover calls for) *The exact number I'd like my fade to be The shop has a hip vibe and everyone is chill. I was even short a few bucks but he said it's cool just get him back next time. Moreover, he cut my hair very similar to how I usually have it styled. I came in based on Yelp reviews. I wear my hair in a very basic style, no fades or layering. I asked for a basic cut that would maintain what I walked in with, only shorter. Wen the guy was done, he gave me the mirror, but he had wet my hair and slicked it back (not how I walked in). It looked like it was done well, but I couldn't really tell with it slicked back. Went home, took a shower and brushed my hair the way I always do and it was very uneven with long strands of hair hanging down. I ended up grabbing some scissors and doing my best to even it out, but it still isn't right because I've never cut my own hair. So, after spending $30 (+$5 tip), I'll need to pay someone to fix this. Very disappointed. read more

I actually lived down the street from this strip mall for years and was unaware of there being a barber this close to campus since I usually drive to places. It was not until I walked to school one day and saw a sign for a barber at Exclusive Touch and decided to give it a try. I walked in and David informed me that he was booked up for the day which was a bummer. He informed me that he works on appointments and that I can schedule one on the spot or text him with a timeframe to work with. He got back to me quick for a same day appointment. No need to wait when you arrive and will strive to get the job done quick. Cuts are high quality and are very affordable for students. David is a very good person to talk and is very chill to work with. Definitely deserves more business from college students nearby, especially those who don't have cars.
