The only reason I gave it any stars is because I loved my actual dress although they would not make the alterations I wanted causing me to have to wear a bustiers that, I realized in my wedding pics, made me look bulkier than I was. The dress would not stay up otherwise but they refused to alter it insisting it would be too tight??? It's not even staying up!! The buying experience was horrible. My "consultant" didn't even bring me the dress I ended up buying someone else did at the end of my visit (even tho it was one of the first dresses I asked for and my consultant said she couldn't find it) because my consultant had once again disappeared. Then my friends had to clip it for me because once again my consultant was nowhere to be seen. I loved the dress itself, but the experience and the fit were both extremely disappointing and every time I look at my wedding pics I get sad.. read more

Went here with some family just to look and play around because I'm recently engaged. Melinda helped me and my maid of honor. She was very helpful and she also found the perfect dress for me ! Lisa and Melissa helped me when the store in Athens screwed up the size of my dress. They were able to expedite a new size for no extra cost. I would totally recommend this store for dresses and service! Here is my review for the Athens store that I have 2 Stars: I had a great experience when I first went here to find my dress. I got the perfect dress for me. The stylist was Camilla or something like that (I'm told she doesn't work there anymore). I tried on a size 12 in the store because that is all they had. It was too small each side of the dress was on the edge of my back so clearly small. When we went to figure out what size I needed she said a 14. She also exclaimed she is NEVER wrong. I asked her a bunch of times are you sure, yes yes yes. So I do not live here in April I ordered this dress and this past weekend was my first time I was able to try it on. My wedding is Oct 20th. Well the dress is too small! Go figure. So I ended up having to call around to see what the David's Bridal had in stores. Luckily I was able to work with the store in Augusta (thank you Lisa and Melissa!!!!) to expedite a size 18w to their store for no extra. I actually need a 16W but for that size they need 32 weeks to make it! Hopefully my alterations lady is a fairy godmother and can fix the 18. Anyway I won't be able to try my dress on again until 2 weeks before the wedding now. We went to the store today to complain and they were very apologetic but that's really all they can do at this point. Key thing I learned is always ask for the alterations lady to look at you wearing the dress to determine size. Also research your size as we have been told David's Bridal likes to order sizes too small so you spend money for their alterations. If you go to Augusta though you will definitely be taken care of! read more

Came here with the bride to be on Sat the 2nd  Sept well that didn't work out to well because Saturday is a busy day and customers are only seen by appt (1st time doing the whole bride shopping). That wasn't an issue we just scheduled an appt for Weds the 6th of Sept and continued on our merry  way 10 miles to another little shop. So fast forward to the Appt time we arrive about 10 mins early since the bride to be was excited to finally get to try on dresses there since they looked like they had so many.  We check in with the lady at the front who advised us our appt is with Charlene and she will be right with us. Well Charleen came out and well she wasnt exactly the cheerful, bubbly sales associate you would expect at a bridal shop dealing with very excited brides. She wasnt very friendly actually she came off rude. We weren't really sweating it though, we just figured she needed to warm up to us, so we were trying not to let her mood set the stage for the day. After picking out a few dresses and showing her pictures of what design we were going for her mood continued to put a damper on things, so much so that the bride to be wanted to just leave and had me googling other bridal stores in the area to make some use of our day. (hour and a half drive to get up there). Finally with much convincing and pep talks I was able to convince the bride to be to just make the best of it. She tried on a few dresses which I think she looked beautiful in, but with a sales associate who acted like she didn't want to be at work cause God forbid we interrupted her day by actually making her work made an experience that was suppose to be wonderful, awful!! She wasn't even helping her fix the gown making it look straight on her so we could get a good feel for it. The whole point of an appt I thought was to give that bride to be that one on one time to make that experience special to her, hell for half the price I could of pulled the dress from the rack, handed it to her and stood there  with my resting bI%$h face on. To make a long story short although some of the dresses we found looked absolutely wonderful on her we will choose to shop at a more personable store who still values the experience of that bride to be or individuals special day! read more

I bought a dress from David's Bridal for a wedding back in March. What I loved about the store is that I got a great dress for $79 due to a sale. When I checked out at the register, I was told that as long as I came back at the beginning of May, I would have no problems getting it altered before the wedding on May 20th. Following the directions given, I came back to the store the first week in May (5/3 to be exact), but my experience was completely different. The associate at the front of the store could be bothered to even acknowledge that I was standing there while she finished a phone call. After explaining what I needed, I was told this was not possible as the store had a high amount of alterations to complete. When I asked the manager about order the fabric of my dress to add a small sleeve, she told me to just go to a fabric store to find what I needed. I was offering them additional business was told to go elsewhere. The manager told me that all alterations had to be a month in advance, which contradicted what was told to me by the associate when I purchased the dress. As I understand it, alterations were included if you purchased from the store, so I've now had to come out of pocket for my alterations. This was poor customer service on the part of the store. I won't be shopping at David's Bridal again. read more

PERFECT EXPERIENCE ! I was apprehensive about shopping for wedding dresses... I mean who isn't? I was assisted by Mrs. Mary, the sweetest most attentive sales woman. Even though I didn't purchase my dress on the first visit, she was still so helpful. She was extremely patient when I wanted to try dresses on multiple times and helped me find my finishing touches (veil, headpiece, & shoes). I was over the moon thrilled when I said yes to the dress & was able to ring the bell. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience at Davids Bridal, & I highly recommended requesting Mrs. Mary as your consultant! read more

I didn't have high expectations going it, I'm having a small, elopement style wedding and didn't want to spend a fortune on a dress and wanted something fairly casual. The person who assisted me with finding a dress was great and I found something without much problem. Alterations are another story. The dress needed to be shortened, taken up at the shoulders, and in under the arms (around the bust). These are pretty standard alterations. I paid $150 for my dress and was charged $170 for alterations. I was scheduled to pick up my altered dress about 1 week out from my wedding day. When I went to pick up the dress, there were a lot of other women trying to pick up dresses. I had an appointment and was seen at my appointment time but the others who did not have appointments were also being helped by the single employee in the alterations department. There was a lot of confusion and I wasn't really given any attention. Once I put the dress on it was clear that they had not done the alterations they said they would. The only thing that was done was the hem. The dress was still much too big on the top, there was no evidence at all of a "E stitch" being done to address the gaping sides. I tried to explain my dissatisfaction to the alterations employee but she just said I wasn't standing up straight and had me shrug my shoulders practically up to my ears and then said, "see, you look beautiful". It was clear that no amount of arguing was going to make a difference, I took my dress and left. The next day I had to find someone in town who could complete the alterations with one week to spare. I took the dress to a mom and pop alterations shop and when I put it on they pointed out many other areas that needed to be addressed or that had actually been compromised by the shoddy work done by Davids. The dress had to be taken up an inch and a half in the shoulders, the zipper had to be removed and reset, and more taken around my arms. All this to the tune of me spending another $100 dollars to have the dress properly altered. So Davids charged me more than the cost of the dress for alterations and did not provide the services promised, in fact they caused the dress to need further alterations than if they hadn't touched it at all. If you need a cheap dress this is your place, but take the dress elsewhere for alterations. read more

The place is great, I went with my friend to get her wedding dress, the prices were reasonable and affordable. What made the experience superb is our interaction with the alteration lady. My daughter recently purchased her wedding dress at David's bridal. After shopping at David's and several other local bridal shops, we returned to David's to buy her dress. None of the other shops came close to providing the personal service that Lindsey and Valerie did. Lindsey was amazing! She was helpful, bubbly, intuitive and was able to help my daughter select the perfect dress for her day. The entire experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend Lindsey at David's bridal. So I had my first wedding dress trying on experience all by myself earlier this week. I'm new in town so I didn't have any family or bridesmaids to go with me but that didn't matter because Mary was amazing!!! She put me right at ease and helped with everything. I'm short and have curves so she quickly adjusted when we figured out that the slim, form fitting dresses I wanted weren't working out in my size lol. She picked a beautiful aline lace gown that didn't puff out too much and was perfect!! I have not bought it yet because I am waiting for my mother to come down but you can bet we will be back in only when Mary is working!!!!! Oh AND she had a few other brides that she was working with in addition to myself so I was very impressed with how she was able to balance everything all while helping me out and making me feel like important. My mom and I came into David's looking for a wedding dress, but not expecting to buy one from David's. We went there first, and then went to several other local shops. Lindsay and Valerie set the bar so high for everyone else we visited, and no one compared! They listened to what I said, were genuinely interested in what I liked or disliked about the dresses, and were vested in my success in finding a dress I loved. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, and everyone in the store wanted to be helpful. They were never pushy and were extremely respectful of what I wanted and how much we wanted to spend. I cannot recommend this store enough! There is a tendency for David's Bridal to have a reputation of commercial, big box store with no personality and no unique experiences. We had 2 appointments scheduled. One at 430 for the bride and one at 630 for bridesmaids. Frances was our consultant for both appointments and she did a wonderful job making sure the bride was able to try one dresses that were in the style category she wanted. She went above and beyond bringing accesories to make the bride feel comfortable with different styles and looks. Frances was very knowledgeable and the Manager MaryAnn did a great job coordinating to ensure that the dress will be here well before the wedding date to allow time for alterations. I recommend seeing these ladies and you will leave very satisfied. read more

Mrs. Frances is very forgetful and she does not always inform you of important information like when you need to get your dress so that it is available or there on time...She will schedule you and appointment and then when you get there she is not there and no one knows what the hell is going on... read more

Let me just start by saying my sister came here to buy her dress & said she wanted a empire waist style dress & the lady pointed her to a post she was completely clueless & walked to the front so maybe she would get better treatment if she set up a appointment. So I come with her so she can go to her appointment & no one helped us at all, except one lady did give us a hanger. I had a wonderful experience at this David's Bridal. I went 4 or 5 times to try on or for alterations or for fittings, and everytime the staff was so helpful and greeted me with smiles. One of the managers, Valerie, was super attentive in making sure I was well taken care of. The ladies in the alterations department were wonderful. After trying on a few dresses at another shop in Augusta, my daughter was very disappointed and disillusioned. I asked if she wanted an appointment at David's Bridal to see what they had. They gave us an appointment for the same day, telling us in advance that they were busy because of the MLK holiday. We met Mary and she was wonderful. She listened to what we were looking for and found three dresses. The first one was "the one." Mary was very helpful and not pushy at all to purchase extras for the big day. I went into David's Bridal expecting to go through a boatload of wedding dresses. This was my first go-round of dress fittings so I wasn't sure what to expect. My consultant Melinda was ready to jump in after I gave her a few details of how I wanted to look on my special day. She went right to work! The more dresses I tried on, the more my mood improved and reality hit me that I was actually in the process of planning a wedding. After about three try-ons out of six dresses, I knew that dress #3 was the one.I had seen this gown on the website and would always come back to it for some odd reason but thought the model didn't do it much justice although the design was beautiful.Nonetheless, I saved the dress to my favorites and it just so happens, Melinda picked that particular dress out for me to try on. Once I put that dress on, I knew it was the one! Everything felt perfect about it and I was finally starting to see myself as a bride.
