I called David's bridal to see if there was a shoe in stock, someone answered the phone and said she would check and be back momentarily. I waited literally 20 Minutes on hold assuming she would be back with and answer or tell me to call back at another time if there were busy. I finally hung up and called back, the person I spoke with said the original person was ringing up people at the register. So rude and inconsiderate to just leave me sitting on hold for that long. I would have been happy to call at another time. The only reason I gave 2 stars is the second person to pick up answered my question and looked for the shoe at other stores. read more

It was an ok visit. I had scheduled an appointment and I was promptly there on time. When I walked in no one greeted me nor offered assistance and the employees knew I was there. I had to practically beg for someone to assist me. Finally got a lady by the name of Savannah to help me. She was ok but acted as if she didn't want to be there, basically just earning a paycheck. She assisted me in finding dresses that I had uploaded as my favs. Of course they only had two of the ones I wanted to try. I was disappointed in that. Your visit is 1 hour and half. I found two dresses I like but kinda settled on those two. I did not purchase any dresses as I was only trying to get an idea of what I liked. Savannah was kinda pushy about purchasing one but I firmly told her I'm still looking. I wasn't that impressed with the business or the customer service. This is the first time I have wanted to give a negative star rating. I went into this store to find a wedding dress for my wedding in November; I had really high hopes because I am on a very strict budget, and it's not too high. Upon entering, I was assigned a consultant (Cassie) to help me find dresses. She asked us not to remove any dresses from the racks and to allow her to do all of the work. She picked out a few dresses based on the things I said I want in a dress, and brought me to a dressing room, providing me with a corset top (that was way too tight) and a slip. After trying on about five dresses, I put on this gorgeous gown that made me look like Belle at the end of Beauty in the Beast- just beautiful. It turned out that it was in my price range! I let Cassie know that I had friends coming with me in two days to make the final decision on a dress. She told me and my family that the dress is discontinued, so she can't order another if this one is sold (which it probably will be very shortly). She was forceful in her sales technique and it put a bad taste in my mouth. After assessing my options, I decided to put the dress on layaway by putting down 25% of the price of the dress. She informed me that if I cancelled the layaway plan, 10% of the deposit would not be reimbursed to me (which was like $20). She also informed me that I could no longer try the dress on if I put it on layaway, and that I would have to pay the dress off in full if I wanted to put it back on. As if this wasn't bad enough, when I got to the register, I found out that it was 10% of the purchase price instead of 10% of the deposit amount that would be forfeited if I cancelled the layaway plan (about $70). I was very upset and felt intentionally misled. I was trying to understand why she told me incorrect information about this fee when a manager (not sure if she's the store manager or an assistant- Jennifer) approached the register and asked what was wrong. I explained the situation. She reiterated that 10% of the merchandise was the correct information and nastily asked me several times if I "just wanted to cancel the layaway order." I let it go and paid the 25%. While standing at the register, there was a placard that referred to exceptions in the state of NC and a Layaway Information Brochure. I asked about these two things, which Cassie practically ignored and said she didn't know. So, I left the store and moved on in my dress shopping day. Later on, I became more and more frustrated about this situation. I ended up going to the David'd Bridal in Raleigh to see if I could find the same dress there to try on again without the corset. Dara at the Raleigh location gave me the Layaway Brochure (in which it states the limit in NC is **$50** for the forfeiture fee, AND that cancellation within ten calendar days RESULTS IN A FULL REFUND). She also informed me that I should be able to try on the dress no matter what the status of it in layaway is, and she made it possible for me to try on the dress they had (which was a larger size) even though they were slammed. I went back Thursday to this Southpoint location to try on my dress. There was an entirely different team working there, who was so so helpful. I put the dress on and felt good about it. Friday I returned to try it on once more with different undergarments, and to search for bridesmaids dresses with my bridesmaids. Cassie was working, who promptly was assigned to us. She came over and said, "so we are looking at bridesmaids dresses today." I let her know I needed to try on the dress once more. She said it was against their policy and that it would not be happening. She kept referring to someone who was telling her it was against policy, so I asked to speak to whomever that was. Surprise- no one showed up. Later on, another consultant walked by me and my girls as we were trying on some bridesmaids dresses because Cassie went to help other people instead of continuing to help us. I explained to this consultant what was going on, and she immediately took care of it. One minute later, Cassie showed up with my dress. I was so, so frustrated about the entire situation. I ended up ordering all of my dresses (my gown and my bridesmaids' dresses) at Savvi Formalware off of Glenwood (THEY ARE GREAT). Brochure in tow, I returned Friday in the early evening to this location to cancel my layaway plan. Jennifer, from the first day, was there. At first, she was kind, saying, "oh no--why are you cancelling with us?" as though she was concerned. After I explained that I found another dress that makes me shine and feel beautiful, she had the audacity to say that I should have never put this dress on layaway and that she tried to talk me out of it on Wednesday when I was at the register. ARE YOU SERIOUS.... It's really a shame because there were several staff members at this location who were perfectly nice and helpful. The two with whom I primarily interacted ruined the whole thing. read more

My friend (the bride) and I (her bridesmaid) walked into this store one Sunday last November without an appointment, just hoping to have a quick look at the dress selections. The staff was quite friendly and professional, and had no problems accommodating us with an immediate appointment. We were there for a few hours as my friend tried on bridal gowns and I tried on about 6-8 different bridesmaid dress styles. We had two sales associates assisting us and in the end, my friend was able to decide on a colour and style for the bridesmaids dresses, although she ended up purchasing her bridal gown elsewhere in Toronto. The task came to me to order the five bridesmaids dresses, and so I returned a few weeks ago to do so. I received fantastic service from Maggie, another sales associate. She was really helpful in calling the other David's Bridal store in Buffalo to locate the other gals' measurements and to put my order through. (At the time, I was told that the dresses could not be ordered until they were paid for, which I guess makes sense. Since I wasn't about to shell out $750 to cover everyone's dresses, we arranged so that the other gals would call back in with their credit card information). However, according to some of the other bridesmaids, they have called the store back repeatedly to order/pay for their dress but have not been helped or have been told to call back when Maggie is working. I'm not sure why one of the many sales attendants on duty wouldn't be able to process the order? Hmm...something I haven't figured out. Today I picked up the first dress to arrive, which is in perfect condition (correct size, etc.). Everything has been smooth sailing so far, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my own dress will arrive as scheduled in early July and that alterations will go well. Except for the strangle phone/communication glitches, I am pretty happy with the service I've received here so far at this bridal store. read more

First of all, the bathrooms were completely unacceptable. My toilet seat almost came off when I sat down and my friend (who was in the bathroom next door) said her bathroom smelled as if someone took a sh*t and smeared it everywhere but did a bad job in cleaning it up. My saleslady was a piece of work. She was the kind of person to say things like "bad news bears." As I was calmly looking at dresses, she tore around a corner and introduced herself before running me across the store to meet another bride she was going to be helping. I introduced her to my two bridesmaids and she could not have cared less. She then asked what I wanted. I told her what I wanted and she immediately grabbed a bunch of dresses and hurried me into a dressing room. Once alone, I finally managed to catch my breath, but not for long. As I stepped out the lady asked me how do we like it? is it a 10?! How do we get you to a 10??!! Ma'am. CALM DOWN. To be fair, it wasn't this poor woman's fault. She was trying to please 2 very different brides. Meanwhile, there were about 6 other employees just standing against the wall. UMMM, LADIES. If you aren't going to help customers, make yourselves useful and clean the freaking bathrooms! It literally smells like poo-poo. So I finally get to the end of my session and I am exhausted. I had found one dress but wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it. So I asked if I could buy then return. NOPE. What about putting it on hold? NOPE. What about online? It's one of a kind, only sold in stores. ALRIGHT THEN. So I left sans dress, but not before they penciled me in for a follow up appointment. I canceled it as soon as I got in the car. read more

David's Bridal is the Target of bridal gowns: you can get a nice dress at a decent price, but you most likely won't find anything that will stand out. (Unless you can afford something from the 'White by Vera Wang' collection, in which case, why not shop in a more fancy store?) The staff there is nice, but they all seem a bit bored. The selection of dresses is quite basic, so if you're looking for something simple and affordable, you'll probably find it there (or in their online catalog). I didn't end up buying my gown there for 2 reasons. First, the woman who was assisting me was rather pushy at the end and kept saying that if I don't order the gown immediately, the estimated delivery date may magically change from 2 months to 4+ months, although earlier she checked and said that it would be approximately 2 months. Secondly, after I discussed specific alterations with the seamstress, she told me she couldn't give me any estimates of costs, not even a rough idea, even though she was clear about what was required. All in all, it's not a terrible idea to start your gown search in David's Bridal, I would recommend a place with a more 'personal touch', where the staff cares that you look stunning, not just "Oh, this dress is really pretty!", because that's what they kept telling me, which does not really say much about ME in the dress, but the dress itself! I found an exceptional gown at Bridal Mart in Burlington and it cost less than the one I liked in David's Bridal. read more

I got my dress at a David's in Cleveland, Ohio and was in town for my maid of honor's wedding dress shopping, so I knew basically what we were getting into. She had made an appointment right when the store opened, so we got hooked up with her consultant immediately. She seemed to listen to everything that my friend said about dresses, interfered in our banter only when necessary, and ended up pulling a dress that she felt fit my friend's desires at the end of the session and it was THE ONE. I was really impressed with the service here compared to what I met when I was dress shopping and the fact that her consultant truly listened to her and was able to get a feel for what she wanted well enough to pull a last minute dress that ended up awing us all. High five, Sasha! Can't speak for my friend, but everything seemed to go smoothly and I can't wait for the wedding. :) read more

The first time I came to Davids Bridal was around 7pm on a Saturday night..... it was so hectic in this store. About 6 brides as well as prom dress shoppers made me think that I should have came at a different time. Our sales associate was nice, she located the style of dress that we wanted and gave us underwire bras to try on. Well before this she took us over to their horrible shoe section and told us to shop around for shoes while she picked our dresses out. She came back to get us along with another customer. She introduced us to the customer and told us that she was helping her also and asked all of us to go to the dressing room. That was totally awkward and I really think you need one sales associate to one person. We eventually selected our dresses and went to pre pay for them. My sister lives in another city and thought it would be easier for her to get her dress there than to order it here in Durham. The sales associate eager to get a sale kept pushing the fact that the dress might not come in time for the wedding or they may be sold out or some other lame excuse to get my sister to buy it from her. Dress Pick Up I received 2 emails from the store to let me know that my dress was ready. I think I would have appreciated a call as well. Some people don't check their emails that often and that email could have easily went into my junk folder. The email said that I had 14 days to pick up the dress or I would be charged some kind of fee....... I went in to get my dress about 8 days after the original email. I walked in and told the lady my name as well as the brides name, she took my info and instructed another associate to go find my dress. Meanwhile two people were standing at the counter looking seriously annoyed , they eventually asked the lady who took my info if somebody could check them out. She told them to give her a few minutes... meanwhile she is doing everything else but check them out. I waited for about 5 mins to get my dress and was asked if I wanted to try it on. I told her I would probably need it altered and before I could finish my sentence she was handing me the dress and telling me to just call back and make an appointment. Very Rude! I wasn't pressed to get alterations done that day, but I would have appreciated her not trying to rush me out of the store so that she could do whatever it is that she was doing before I walked in. I would try to figure out non peak times, maybe in the morning to go to this store b/c if not you probably won't get the best customer service. read more

I was not as horrified by the service at David's Bridal as I expected to be, based on my experience helping other brides shop and the reviews written here. My goal in trying on dresses at David's was not to purchase - but to get a feel of what styles of gowns I liked/looked good on me. For this purpose, it was great. The gowns I tried on were uniformly cheaply made, and this showed. For the same budget (less than1500) I found beautiful gowns at boutiques that seemed much higher quality. CONS: 1. You cannot look through the dresses on your own. This makes absolutely no sense. I'm all for trying on gowns that stylists pick out for you - but why can't I pick out some ones I'd like, too? 2. They make you wear a corset and control top slip. This makes it impossible to tell what the gown actually "feels" like on. 3. Dressing rooms are small and have NO MIRROR. Also makes no sense. 4. The attendant has to dress you, and insists on putting all gowns on over your head. 5. Your attendant helps multiple people at once. I spent a lot of time waiting around - what could have easily been a 60 minute appointment turned into more than two hours. 6. If you do chose your dress there (like the woman shopping next to me did), they have you ring a bell and make a wish. Maybe this is great if you're 12. PROS: 1. The corset and control top slip seemed clean and in good repair. 2. I was welcomed and measured right away. 3. Trying on a lot of different style gowns was pretty fun - and they have a great variety. 4. They let you take pictures. 5. Gowns come in a variety of sizes, so it's really easy to find something that will fit you close enough. I'd recommend David's Bridal if your goal is to figure out what you like. I learned a lot about what necklines, skirt type, and materials I liked (or didn't). Then, go to a boutique armed with your knowledge and have a true wedding dress buying experience. read more

First of all, Katie was awesome! She was so super sweet and tried really hard to take both my thoughts and my family's into account when pulling dresses. It was my first time trying on dresses, so we were all a little scattered, and she did a great job of listening through all the noise to get to what I wanted. I felt no pressure to try on things that I wasn't sure about or to purchase anything. Thanks Katie! I left the first time without purchasing a dress and came back a few days later to try it on once more. The lady who helped me then (not sure of her name, but maybe...Tiffany?) was also super helpful and did not put any pressure on me. David's itself was nice, but not a full five stars just because their inventory is a little...one-note. I did end up finding my dress there (yay!), but there were not many options that fit my style. It seems like everything is lace and poof, which just aren't me. All in all, though, a great experience! read more

I hate to reflect badly on the employees here because they were all genuinely nice to me but the way the company as a whole works made my experience really negative as a customer. I ordered a dress in December and did not receive it until the end of April. When it arrived, I realized they had ordered me the wrong size. They told me they couldn't refund my order but could order me the dress in the correct size and rush order it so it would arrive the week of my wedding. I was obviously not comfortable with that. They then kind of panicked and had someone from the alterations department talk to me about fixing it, and it would have been over $500 to do alterations on this dress (the dress itself was around $700). The dress honestly looked and felt like it was made in a sweatshop. You can tell they overcharge, especially for alterations, but really even for the dresses themselves. I ended up figuring out that I could exchange it for a different dress in the store, and fortunately I found a dress off the rack that fit me perfectly. I actually like this dress a lot more than the original, but it really sucks that I had to come here after work and do a whole unexpected round of wedding dress shopping a month and a half before my wedding. If I could do it over again I *definitely* would have gone secondhand or maybe gone to a smaller boutique type place. Even if it would have been more expensive, it would have been worth it for the quality of the product and the customer service. Shopping at David's Bridal was one of my biggest regrets of wedding planning. Again the employees at this location seemed like nice people, and I don't blame them for doing their job, but I still just would not shop here again. read more

This was one of the places I checked out in order to choose my wedding dress. I went on their website and created an account to save a bunch of dresses I was looking at within my budget. Then I made an appointment for the earliest time available on a Saturday morning. The ladies were welcoming and a newer employee helped me with the dresses. She handed me books to look through, rather than just pulling stuff from the ones I had saved online. These books did not have prices so I picked a few that she then pulled out for me, without really paying attention to me telling her that there is a budget. Overall she was nice and helpful in picking dresses that I liked or did not like. She even helped me find ones that I had not seen online or in the book, but was more tailored to what I seemed to be liking on me from the dresses I did try on. I really liked one dress but it was way too expensive. I was a little annoyed about her not really looking at the budget, but she did know the dresses enough to know of another one that was similar but cheaper. I loved it and this dress was the one I ended up going with (though I did find a used one even cheaper at a consignment store). I did consider getting the dress altered here ... for maybe a few seconds. When the ladies at David's Bridal were telling me the cost of a couple of buttons for a bustle and some hemming (since I am short), I was a bit shocked that it would have been well over $200 or so. Needless to say, I went to a friend who did it for me at less than half the price. I did get the shoes and a slip for the dress here though. Both showed up when they told me they would, which I appreciated. I also liked using this business overall because my bridesmaids were in different cities and I could just pick colors at David's Bridal that were close to the ones I wanted and have the girls get dresses in that color. It was very convenient and much cheaper than many other places that I was looking at. read more

I had a fantastic experience in this store. Lindsay was AMAZING. She did everything she possibly could to find me the perfect dress. I was just wanting to try some on, but she found the perfect one. I wasn't "sold" on it, and she took the time to listen and ask what would make it a 10! And she made the changes that made the dress PERFECT. I love the experience I had with Lindsay and the time this store spent on me. She is the reason I said YES to the dress!! The store was clean and organized. The staff was all great. And you can't beat the location. The only thing I would change is that it needs more mirrors! read more

If you are looking for a special, Say Yes to the Dress-type experience, I would not recommend this store (or probably any chain). If you want a convenient, great selection of dresses at a good price, then it is excellent. I bought my dress here on my second appointment and had it altered here. I got a great dress at a fantastic price, with a decent overall experience. Here are the details: My first appointment was during the week and there was almost nobody else in the store. The salesperson was very nice and friendly and brought out the dress I ultimately bought. My second appointment was on a Saturday and it was very busy. The salesperson was extremely unfriendly at first. No eye contact, didn't even acknowledge my bridesmaid's presence, didn't seem to want to listen to what I wanted to try on. Once she realized I was probably going to buy, she got very friendly but also a little pushy. Other customers in the store were very friendly and it wasn't bad since my friend's support and help meant I could largely ignore the salesperson at first, but she really could have ruined the appointment. I did feel like at both appointments they were cutting me off from trying more dresses when they felt it was enough, although it was nowhere near the end of my time slot. A lot of places do that, but it is annoying. The dress came in very fast. I did not get a phone call or voicemail initially and then I got a second call asking me to come right away to pick it up. That was irritating. Alterations with Farqunda were fantastic. She was very friendly, really listened to what I wanted, and didn't try to push me into anything when I explained my budget. I am not sure how prices compare but it is probably a little high. Since my dress was heavily beaded, I didn't want to take a chance with a place not stitching up all the beads. One note: she said that the store won't alter design. So although I could get the hemming done, they wouldn't shorten the train proportionally. I thought that was a ridiculous policy, personally. If you want major changes, just take it with you. read more

I was very very skeptical about going to a David's Bridal to get my wedding gown. They're a big retailer and I did not want my wedding dress to be like the rest of all the brides out there. I wanted something unique and classic... So on my day off I decided to drop by the store, I was just looking, I was just beginning my search, after all my wedding date was supposed to be a year and a half away so I had plenty of time. As I started looking around I really got intrigued by one specific dress and really wanted to try it on. They had an appointment slot open for me in just 25 minutes. All of the sudden I got really nervous, I was by myself... So came this girl super excited, very happy, energetic, it felt as if she was my best friend and we had known each other forever. Honestly, Alexis was amazing. All of my nerves went away, she made the whole experience so fun and she did everything imaginable to make me feel comfortable. I tried on the dress that I liked and amazingly so that was the one. I felt like a princess. The next day I came in with my mom and she loved the dress. Sadly so, my venue had overbooked my day and now I have to wait two years to get married. So when I go back for that dress, I definitely want Alexis to be there with me along the whole way. I loved my gown but even more I loved how Alexis treated me during the whole thing. I am a plus sized bride so having someone there with me meant the world to me. read more

I had a feeling David's would not be my cup of tea, but decided to go experience it for myself. I chose to go to the one in Durham b/c it seems a little nicer than the Raleigh location. The sales person I worked with was very nice and helpful, but the store just did not have anything I was looking for. There were a few styles I saw online that I really wanted to try but they did not have them in stock. When I asked, "Do you know when you will get them in?" the answer was, "No, we never what we will get or when." Ok, I said, "so could I order something online to try it and return it if it doesn't work?" "Nope, all sales are final." It was a very disappointing experience to say the least. I think I've figured out that they definitely don't have the style of dress I'm looking for either. The search continues. I wouldn't waste your time going to David's Bridal unless you want something cheap that looks cheap as well. read more

We were just in this location southpoint in Durham ,we were looking for a bridesmaid dress for my daughter. We pick the last red dress from the rack that was on clearance. We asked a lady to make sure the price was right. She said " 59.99 " at first. Then my daughter put on the dress in the fitting rooms. Then when we were about to pay one of the manager came her name was lyndsay and checked the price and gave us a whole different price a more expensive price. I don't know why she changed the price. I don't know if she's raises and that she looked us like hispanics. If the first person gave us a price then that should be the price! She made us waste our time and she broke my little girls heart because that was the last dress red color that we needed. THE LAST ONE!!! Unbelievable . I am from out of state visiting my son and future daughter-in-law for Christmas. My son and I were shopping for presents when we walked by David's Bridal and he suggested we look at the bridesmaids colors picked out, of course I said YES! Little did I know we would venture upon a lovely woman, Kathy. I was hesitant to try on mother of the groom dresses, as I was not mentally prepared to thrust my body into slinky gowns. However, Kathy put my fears at ease and made me feel comfortable. Kathy chose 3 beautiful gowns that would pair nicely with the bridal party, but for a mature mother. I tried the first gown, Kathy made adjustments, ran for appropriate undergarments and I began to transform into a lovely, beautiful person gaining confidence as we continued. Kathy did not rush me and spoke quietly in my ear giving me helpful tips. My son gave me his opinions and appreciated Kathy's advice too! In the end I have a beautiful gown, purchased by my son for his mother on his big day. Kathy put her whole heart and sole into helping me feel confident and look amazing. Thank you for your wisdom and advice to a mature mother that just needed the confidence to look beyond the wrinkles and body of an older woman wanting to look amazing at her son's wedding! The employee I had assisting me was Kelly, and she was incredibly attentive and helpful. She was good humored and smiling the whole time, and she let me form my own opinions about a dress, not trying to push any sales or talk me into anything. She made it a very enjoyable and fun experience. If you're going to go to this store, be sure to ask for Kelly. As for the store itself, the dresses tended to be hit or miss: a few were really nice and high quality, but a couple looked like regular sundresses or felt like they were made out of shower curtains. I did feel like a lot of the prices didn't match the outfit that you were getting for the cost. Staff: Great! Store: Could be better. read more

I was very disappointed in this store. Had went to another David's Bridal for my sister's wedding dress the year before and it had been a wonderful experience, but with this store it was completely different. I had made an appointment and came into a completely packed store. I took almost 10 minutes for a stylist to get to me. Then she was working with at least one other bride. I had eight favorites picked out online and she brought 3 for me to try on before she ran around on a wild goose chase of her own. She refused to listen to what I was saying about a dress and went on her own to decide what I would love without every bringing any more of the ones that I said I liked. She was very rude to myself and my family that was there with me. We ended up leaving in frustration because of her rude behavior. read more

She was flexible and relaxed, and helped my sister-in-law and I find exactly the dress we were looking for. She was easy to talk to and did a great job helping me feel comfortable and enjoy the process of selecting a wedding dress. Paula also did an outstanding job on the alterations for my wedding dress. I had an awful experience at David's Bridal Durham. Initially, I was able to find a dress I liked at a reasonable price. But when it was ordered and I went to pick it up, they brought out the wrong dress claiming it was the one I ordered (in fact, I had never even seen this dress much less tried it on). Finally I was able to convince them that i had ordered a different dress (Thank God for camera phones!) and it turned out some numbers had been mixed up. So, they had to order the new dress (enter another wait time). When I finally got the dress, the alterations ended up costing more than the dress did and we had to go back several times as they weren't well done. My bridesmaids were also told the wrong dresses on several occasions and not told about accessories I had requested, resulting in one having to run out the night before the wedding to try and find a sash. Now I am in a wedding and am trying to purchase shoes...at first they told me it would take 2 weeks to dye shoes. Having ordered the shoes online (they had none in my size in-store) and taken them in, the date they gave me was more than 3 weeks later. I never received an apology at any point in the awful service I was given at this store, and highly recommend that you STAY AWAY. read more

This place shouldn't get any stars!!! Amethyst was of no help to my dress shopping day. I was so excited for this experience but instead....she only showed me dresses on the sample sale oppose to new dresses. I told her I didn't have a budget but I just wanted to find something that looked good on me. She was too busy worrying about the other person she was helping. The manager on duty never helped out nor really spoke. Amethyst trying to be frank came off more as if she didn't want to be bothered because she felt as if I wasn't going to spend money. The dress is for a special 15 yr anniversary and I never had a wedding so I was going all out. This information gave her an impression that it was a big deal I suppose. I actually never told her because she never asked!!!! I over heard her telling the receptionist this and at the time I didn't know it was me!!!! Unprofessional staff very unprofessional. This is as I watched them help other people as well as be late with my appt for no good cause. I was really ready to pay for my dress but I decided against it because of the way Amethyst made me feel on top of the fact that she was very disheveled as a style associate, which lead me to believe she had no taste nor the desire to help me look good for my big day. I hope this isn't the same for this chain of stores. Thanks for ruining my first dress shopping experience. If it wasn't for family coming in from out of town, I would have never stayed! read more

This review is for the southpoint Davids Bridal specifically. I bought my wedding dress at the Davids Bridal in Greensville NC and had a great experience and the customer service was excellent! At the southpoint Davids Bridal, not so much. First I went here for bridesmaid dresses as my bridesmaids are located all over the country. Our consultant was ok, and marked down the dress style and color we chose. When one of my bridesmaids in Wisconsin went to her Davids Bridal THE NEXT DAY she was told the dress style color was discontinued and couldn't be ordered. Our sales associate didn't care to check that the dress she was selling us was even still available. I also came to this DB for alterations on my wedding dress. I arrived a half hour early to my appointment and they were not able to take me yet, which was fine I understand I was early. However the associate at the front took my dress for me and hung it on the sale rack WITH BRIDESMAID DRESSES. this was a busy saturday with multiple people touching and looking at dresses. A woman holding coffee started touching my dress bag and i freaked out! I asked the associate it there was a better place for it, because i know there are closets behind the register and she said "oh I'll keep and eye on it." Needless to say I stood right next to my dress and waited for my appointment, which I was finally helped at 1:25 for a 1 pm appointment. I would recommend finding a different DB if possible as this branch does not treat its costumers well. read more

I went to about 2 or 3 different David's Bridals in NC. The Durham store was my latest visit where I found my dress!! I would like to say how awesome our bridal consultant, Madeline Anglin was! She was very knowledgeable and helpful and listened to what I was looking for and found it exactly! She also gave me some wedding day tips to help maneuver in my dress. read more

Wonderful experience here! We showed up without an appointment and they kindly worked us into the schedule within the hour! We had Kesi assisting us and she was absolutely wonderful! The store is dirty. The dresses are very dirty, torn and sizes are limited. Don't expect any meaningful service... Overall, it's about what you'd expect of David's Bridal, which isn't a whole lot. read more

I'm someone that hates trying on clothes at a clothing store. I hope to one day be able to afford a personal shopper :) So, going to a place where there are 15 other people trying on wedding gowns at the same time in front of everyone there was not the place for me. I also told the girl specifically what I didn't want (anything cut straight across because it make my shoulders look HUGE), and every dress she brought me was exactly what I didn't want. I had a friend go with me, and apparently she asked my friend out of my earshot what was taking me so long, as "90% of brides" buy the first dress they try on (I tried on only 4 dresses there, and finished my appointment earlier than the time slot allowed). Also, they were very hush-hush when telling each other what size to get, acting as if I'd break down if the size was bigger than what I wanted it to be. She wouldn't bring me some of the dresses I really wanted to try on. It was a really horrible experience. I know a lot of people get their dress from David's, and it being such a huge chain I'm sure there are certain David's that are better than others. I ended up finding my dress at a small boutique for the same price I would have paid at David's, and it was a MUCH better experience. read more

Despite being busy we got in right at our appointment time and our sales associate, Leidy, was very attentive. Leidy was very helpful and pulled dresses according to the style we were searching for. I had a very good experience with this store. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Neither I nor my maid of honor had to lift a finger; the staff got any dresses I wanted to try on and went back for different sizes if one didn't fit. I went to David's 3 different times: once to try on all of the dresses, once to go back and try on two dresses that I couldn't decide between, and once to try on both dresses again and make my decision. The staff were very patient and nice. If you get your gown from David's and don't have them alter it, make sure to have them press it. They'll probably try to talk you out of this since it's going to get wrinkled when it's actually altered. However, when they press it, they put a cardboard form inside the bustline area that helps your gown keep a great shape while it's in storage waiting for your big day. They also hung up the train very nicely after it was pressed. I'm so glad I got this done. Bad points: -Noone at the store measured me at all. This pretty much shocked me since every other boutique I went to measured me. I told them the size I thought I wore. When that wasn't available, I tried on one size larger. When I was about to decide on the dress I wanted, on a whim I asked to try on the dress one size smaller than I originally thought I needed. I was shocked when it was the correct size; I thought it would be way too small. If somone had measured me to begin with, they would have known what size I would have worn. -When I went to pick up my gown, the gown was in a typical plastic dry-cleaner type bag. The bottom of the bag had an open area. David's charges $10 for a non-see through, completely enclosed, zip-up bag. This is pretty cheap of them after you've already paid hundreds of dollars for a dress. -Alterations at David's are expensive. I'm taking my dress to a separate seamstress. -David's only gives you ONE complementary dress steaming/pressing with your gown, which is done at the time of alterations. According to the paperwork, any additional steamings are $40. When I first went to David's the staff made it sound like they did unlimited steamings for any gowns that have not (yet) been altered by an outside party. read more

Just got off the phone with Jen the manager at David's Bridal. She was so rude and her customer service is terrible. I've already had one appointment with David's and it was awful. Not because of my stylist Kimberly she was the only bright spot in my visit. Kimberly is knowledgable friendly and efficient. It's the stupid store policy that had her running around taking care of 4 brides at one time. My mother finally stepped up to try and get me in and out of dresses so we wouldn't have to be there all day. I probably would have already bought my dress if I could've had her undivided attention. I called to make a second appointment and stressed that I didn't want to have multiple appointments at the same time to contend with so I could get this taken care off. I was told that they have so many brides and will fit them in regardless of the affect to your appointment. Jen talked over me and was completely rude, I work in customer service I have never had a "manager" be so terrible and not help with a solution. Brides beware. I have no idea what I will do with the dress I loved especially because Kimberly deserved to get credit for her work. read more

Consultant Sasha is amazing! I had a great experience today! While I have not purchased a dress yet, the reason I have not is I have two amazing options!! Sasha listened to what I want and worked hard to pull other dresses that might work! She wasn't pushy and made me feel very comfortable. Now to decide!! read more
