Sample dresses in store only fit size 6 or less I couldn't tell this dress is terribly constructed, the consultants ordered the dress way too big and despite over $1,000 of alterations - it fit terribly on my wedding day. I question the methods of the alterations team as the dress was altered totally wrong and it lost the a-line shape of the skirt and ended up TOO TIGHTand the owner who told me I should have been more vocal during my SIX FITTINGS (despite sending multiple emails, begging for changes, and leaving the salon CRYING), it still wasn't enough. Now she says I'm just complaining to get money. The best thing for me would be for no other bride to go through the stress and gaslighting I suffered through this process. AVOID Lana Addison and the sister store Alexia's unless you are very thin, rich, and extremely vocal about your opinion. I had a fantastic wedding dress experience at Lana Addison. This adorable boutique carries a gorgeous Barcelona based wedding dress designer, Pronovias. Lana Addison is the only bridal shop in Raleigh that carries this line. Huge plus if you fall in love with their styles like I did! As an over thinker, I didn't foresee myself having that "a-ha" moment when I tried on "the one," but when I saw my dress for the first time, I got some serious heart eyes. Throughout the buying and fitting process, I worked with Rachel, who was amazing. Everyone at Lana Addison was very responsive to my emails and were always willing to adjust their schedules to fit mine. This was one of the first 3 bridal stores I went to. All in all, I ended up trying 10 stores in 4 different states, and trying on 60-70 dresses or more total. I really wanted to love this locally owned bridal boutique but hands down it had the worst customer service out of all the bridal stores I went to nationally. Although the store had some new designers, many of the dresses felt dated, and more southern cotillion than bridal chic. This one of two stores that I went to that would NOT let you take pictures. I'm sorry but my family lives all over the US and I want to be able to share pictures of dresses before committing to such a hefty price tag. I would imagine this drives away business, I was only going to buy from a store that would allow me to take pictures, think about it and chat with a seamstress. Also, speaking of hefty price tag... this store was charging 500-1000 more for dresses than stores in Denver, CO. The bridal store in Denver told me that a dress from a designer should be the same price anywhere in the US. Although this store had the dress I ended up buying... I went elsewhere to buy. read more

I finally found my dress!!!!!! I searched far and wide but finally found a gown that I love (I thought it might never happen). Lana Addison is the more economical (read: cheaper) sister store to Alexia's Bridal in downtown Raleigh. Bridal dresses are by appointment only but other bridesmaid and special occasion dresses are walk-in welcome. However I will say this, if you'd like to get any sort of customer service (especially on a Saturday)- make an appointment. At first glance, I was totally taken with the look of this boutique. It's just so cute and lovely from the outside and the second you enter you're surrounded by these gorgeous gowns that all appeared to be of stellar quality. Some of the featured designers are: *Martina Liana *Claire Pettibone *Amy Kuschel *Tulle New York *Nicole Miller *Theia *Coco Anais *Pronovia So I'm not going to sugar-coat it. My fiance and I showed up for my appointment on time and it took me about 5 minutes to find an employee. It was a full house at the time so I tried to be understanding but after checking in with the sales associate we had to wait an additional 15 minutes to be helped and that really irked me. They offered us champagne a short time later though, and that put us in better spirits. The showroom itself is pretty small so it only took a few minutes to make a round. The dresses all seemed to be in the 3-5k+ range and this had me a little concerned since I was only hoping to spend 2k. Christina came over to help us a short time later and after discussing what I was looking for (an not looking for) she pulled a few dresses (all in my price range) and we went upstairs to try them on. Christina made some pretty good choices and 1 of the dresses that she picked, a Pronovia, ended up being the dress that I loved! The overall experience of Lana Addison's was a little disappointing. The shop is pretty, the dresses are beautiful and unique but the customer service was just a little bit lacking. Don't get me wrong- nobody was rude and at the end of the day, the job was done, but when you're shopping for a wedding dress you're just looking for a little bit more of an "experience". So far Maggis Bridal is still the only location to really knock me off my feet with customer service (these girls were seriously fantastic). But since you can't wear "customer service" on your wedding day this may or may not matter to you. read more

I can't rave enough about the 3M's, Maria, Morgan and Megan! I was so heartbroken and desperate by the time I stepped into Lana Addison that I was ready to give up. I had been to several different salons in the triangle and left feeling defeated and that I would never be truly satisfied in my wedding dress. Megan and Morgan were so helpful and sweet. They took charge and picked out a handful of dresses whether I liked them in the rack or not. The problem for me is being in between "normal sizes" and plus sizes. They were very kind and helpful with making me feel comfortable while trying different dresses on. The dress that I chose, I Hated it the moment Megan brought it in. It wasn't anything that I thought I would like, but I knew INSTANTLY that it was the one. Keep shopping until you feel that way, because I promise, it will happen! Maria also was amazing to work with! I had at least 6 separate appointments with her for alterations to make sure my dress fit like a glove. The dress was beautiful and wonderful quality but was disappointed with the quality of alterations. The alteration quality was not up to the quality of the dress. The ribbons used for the bustle were starting to shred the time the ceremony was over (dress had only been worn maybe an hour and a half by then) and making it very difficult to get the dress bustled. The numbers written on the ribbons were on the end that unraveled first so unreadable after they started shredding. The ribbons will have to be replaced before the dress could be used again. For the extremely high alteration prices I expected better quality to go with the beautiful high quality dress. read more

My experience at Lana Addison was nothing short of incredible. My consultant, Megan was incredibly sweet and put me at ease immediately. She listened intently to everything I said when pulling dresses, and continued to pull more and change things up as I gave feedback throughout the appointment. We were immediately offered drinks when we arrived and then shown upstairs to a large private room that easily accommodated the 6 people I brought with me. Megan laughed along with us the entire time and gave honest, constructive, kind feedback throughout. Truly, she was amazing. The boutique itself is an adorable house that is warm and inviting and full of sparkle, frills, and generally beautiful gowns. I found a dress that I loved and made everyone in my party cry. Megan even stayed late at the salon so that I could come back after my appointment at a different salon to place the order for the dress since I live out of state. Ultimately I bought my dress at a different boutique, only because it was a dress I had been eyeing for over a year that wasn't stocked at Lana's. To be honest, my experience at the boutique I bought my dress wasn't half as wonderful as my time at Lana's. Had it been available at Lana's I would have purchased there in a heartbeat. I found my wedding dress at Lana Addison while visiting home for Thanksgiving (I live in Chicago) and first, the prices were SO much better at Lana Addison than up north! I worked with Caitlin and she could not have been better- she was not pushy, she let me describe what I had in mind for my dress and also let my guests and I look around the store and pick out dresses we liked. She was patient and did not try to sell me on anything, and brought us champagne when I found my gown. She worked with me to get me the best deal possible (a post-Thanksgiving sale and a "thank you for shopping with us" promotion sale) and made sure to recommend I had my dress shipped to Chicago so I wouldn't have to pay tax of having it shipped to North Carolina. And you can split up the payments for no extra fee! I do not know how this experience could have been better, I love that it is a family owned shop and the prices were amazing. Great dress selections too and the appointments are 1 on 1 so you don't have to worry about the consultant splitting time between you and someone else. As much as I wanted to love this cute, charming, locally owned bridal boutique, the customer service I received warrants a one-star rating. My main concerns with this shop were the lack of professionalism by the staff and lack of knowledge regarding sizing. After a good initial appointment with the salon, I decided to purchase my gown. The following week they emailed me regarding which size to order (looking back, I should not have left the salon until my sizing was discussed in person). The email suggested a size 2, which did not make sense to me since the sample I tried on was a 10 and the consultant at the time said that it fit well on me, but she still had to consult the sizing guide provided by the designer to get a more accurate size. I ended up ordering a 10, based on my limited knowledge of bridal sizing and the lack of clear guidance from the salon (I did call them in response to the email, but they didn't offer to double check the size guide or admit that they made a mistake in the email, they just went with the 10 since I had mentioned that the sample size 'fit ok'). Needless to say, the size 10 is huge on me. I have since reached out to the owner, and she has acknowledged that I was mis-sized and she would have ordered a size 8 for me (based on the designer size guide), as I fall between a 6 and an 8 through the hips. This just proves that the original staff that worked with me didn't know how to read the size guide and provided zero guidance. This whole experience has been stressful and frustrating. I spoke with the manager a few times, but she came off very unprofessional and kept asking what I wanted from them (a sincere apology and accountability for their mistake would have been enough). The owner, who I did get in contact with via email, was much more professional in her communications and apologized for the sizing mishaps. A couple of other items to note are 1) No photos are allowed while trying on the gowns and 2) They don't allow pick ups or alterations on Saturdays. When I did take time off of work to pick up my gown during the week, they failed to mention that my belt was not yet received and told me to come back later (on a weekday). I finally got them to mail me my belt, which they promptly charged me $11 for. This was after realizing that they had missized me. I thought the manager would have offered to at least cover the shipping based on their sizing errors, but she did not. I'm not upset that I had to pay $11, it was more just disappointment in customer service. Something as small as covering the $11 would have made a positive impression on me. Please save yourself the stress and go somewhere else for your wedding gown! read more

Lana Addison was a charming little shop in downtown Cary that had good customer service and great gowns. My consultant really listened to what I wanted and brought in some great options. We had our own private room and it was over-all a nice experience. I did feel pressured to quickly make a decision and that made me uncomfortable. The consultants made some comments that made me feel like I needed to make the decision that day, when in reality I think its best to take your time with such a large purchase. Their sister store Alexia's is another story and I would not suggest going to Alexia's, although they will pressure you to do so, and then if you do go to Alexia's and you don't find anything they will pressure you to go back to Lana Addison and buy the dress you liked there. I look at my wedding pictures and immediately get teary-eyed about how ill-fitting my dress is. I wish I had listened to the other reviews about the lack of customer service, professionalism and danger of using the in-house seamstress. The dress was not finished the way it was promised to me. The salon, at their own admission, made a mistake when checking in my dress from the designer, which set us back in my timeline 4.5 months. Because of this, I had to sign a document saying I was happy with the way my dress fit. I had no other option, at that point, I was two weeks away from my wedding, and did not live locally. Once the dress was 'finished' my sister picked it up for me and brought it to the wedding. My wedding morning, when I put the dress on, I burst into tears. The dress was, in fact, not completed. I couldn't believe it, I still can't believe it. The co-owner took zero responsibility for the lack of time to correct the dress, even though she admits it was her staffs fault the dress was not checked in correctly from the designer. They gave me a partial discount on my alterations. But I think any bride would agree they would rather pay 100% of the alterations and get the dress that was promised to them. I love Lana Addison Bridal! This was the first wedding dress shop I had been to and it was a great experience. I tried on 5 dresses and the 5th (the wildcard!) was the one! The services provided since day 1 was amazing! The first lady who actually helped me pick out my dress was very patient and kind. She listened to my desires and concerns very well. The 5th dress was a sample dress and the owner happened to be at the boutique that day, she offered a very generous discount! And they even gave me a day to think about it, great customer service! From there on, Jessica helped me with fittings. She's my favorite! Jessica is very sweet and easy to get along with. Since my fiancé and I were on a tight budget, I really wanted a sweet heart neckline but was afraid of the extra cost. Jessica discounted the alterations so that I could afford it! How amazing! Lana Addison Bridal is an EXCELLENT place to find your perfect dress! The staff is friendly, attentive, and very accommodating to your specials needs. And the dresses are beautiful! One time, there was a mix up with one of my appointments, it was no big deal to be me but the staff offered a 10% discount off the alterations for the inconvenience! I found my dress the day before my appointment at Lana Addison at Traditions by Anna, where I highly recommend. I called to cancel my appointment at Lana Addison but they still charged me the $50 fee for canceling. I called within the 24hr notice which is what I was told, but when I called to cancel I was told they required 48 hours to cancel. I asked them to waive the fee since I had just found my dress and didn't want to waste their appointment time on a Saturday but they weren't willing to compromise and still charged me $50. After visiting 6 other salons I was very happy to find Lana Addison. They have great dresses and it's a nice welcoming salon. My problems started once I purchased a dress. Once the dress came in was HUGE! I was puzzled considering I was measured by their associate and in fact had gained weight but my dress was sizes too large. We started the first fitting and I waited for the alterations bill. Once I got the bill my jaw dropped. My alterations bill was close to a third of the dress cost! I was so upset that I called the salon. The original estimate to add a bustle was $190, this was after the seamstress told me she would add a "baby bustle". I guess in their mind a baby bustle costs almost $200. On another of my fittings the seamstress "forgot" about my appointment. I drove over an hour to get to the salon only to sit for close to an hour for her to never show. This is completely ridiculous considering I was called the day before for a reminder of the appointment time. If the salon called me, then I'm sure they call their seamstress. I was compensated for this first mess up and decided not to worry that I was sure they would do an amazing job. My dress was finally finished and I went to pick it up. I took it home and put it away waiting for my wedding day. I had a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding in Orlando Florida. Once we got to Orlando I took the dress out of the bag to let my family see it. This is when I noticed what a HORRIBLE job the seamstress did. First off I was charged $300 to "remove" beading on the top because it had to be taken in 3 inches on each side. I was told that she would be removing beads and moving them by hand. This did not happen. She simply folded the dress over on top of the other side resulting in completely uneven bead work. In fact, you can see where she just looped the beads over because there is a loop of beadwork! I would like to know why I was charged for so much labor when all she did was fold the top over. Next, I looked at the hem line. It was jagged and she left strands of string all around the dress. We tried to do the bustle to practice before the big day only to find a yellow topped pin where she I'm assuming "forgot" to do the bustle!! We started photographing all of the mess up. My sister was looking at the jagged beadwork up top and noticed that there were pins left in the bodice of the dress!!! We pulled out 7 pins!! I find that to be absolutely ridiculous! We have tons of photos to document this horrible job. I feel that I was lied to about the services they were providing. I am disgusted at the seamstress and this salon for employing someone who is outright lying to their customers. Never again will I recommend this salon after the way my alterations were handled. I want to say how thankful I am for the wonderful experience that my mom and I had selecting the PERFECT gown. I could not have asked for a better day. It really was meant to be that they were able to fit me in last minute. I was telling my mom that I felt like I was trying dresses on with my best friends or even "sisters". The entire team was extremely helpful and honestly if the other lady there was not trying on similar gowns, I would not have even known that there was anyone else in the store. They made us feel as though all attention was on us. Everyone was extremely encouraging and full of excellent advice without being pushy at all. That means a lot as the bride's wedding day is such a big moment and start of a new chapter in our lives. I also thought I would share how important that day was to my mom. When we got in the car after leaving the store I asked her again what she thought and she immediately starting crying happy tears saying how special that day was for her. I am not one to write a lot of reviews, but felt that this store deserved a 5 star rating! Buying a bridal gown is one of the most stressful parts of planning and wedding and I found my dress at Lana Addison! I had been to nearly ever bridal store in the RTP area and had tried on over 50 dresses before finding my dream dress here. I was fortunate enough to find my dress during a "Designer Spotlight" special. As part of the special, the owner (Alexia) agreed to include a custom template and a few other alterations into the price of the dress. This saved me huge amount of money and allowed me to afford my dress. In regards to the store and selection, they are both beautiful. The house in Cary creates a great boutique feel and the dresses that the shop carries are absolutely gorgeous. The sales people were extremely courteous, polite, and helpful each time I went to the store. They immediately offered anyone I was with and myself a glass of champagne or water each time we came to the store. When I first went to look for my dress, I described to Lauren exactly what I was looking for and my budget and she pulled amazing dresses. I felt that the sales associates at Lana Addison gave just the right amount of attention when I was shopping for my dress. They allowed me to try on each dress, they would leave the room to allow me to discuss the dress with my friends, and then would return to ask how I felt about the dress. This made the process a lot less stressful and more enjoyable in my opinion. In each subsequent visit, Cristina was extremely helpful. The shop went one step above and allowed me to come in and try the sample dress back on to show my bridesmaid and mom when they were in town for my bridal shower. I was on a tight timeline to get my alterations completed before leaving Durham. The shop and seamstress (Ruth) were able to complete 3 fits with alteration in under two weeks. The alterations came out absolutely perfectly and I fell in love with my dress all over again. Overall, this shop offered the best selection and customer service of any bridal store I encountered. I came to Raleigh on a spur of the moment trip and was very exited to see this bridal shop due to the reviews I had seen. I was even more excited when I saw that the parking lot was nearly empty when I arrived in the middle of the day(Thursday). Upon getting to the door, I noticed there was a sign that said by appointment only, accompanied by a number to call. I noticed two employees inside moving about, they had to heard me walking up on to the wooden porch but did not make eye contact. Really wanting to see what the shop had to offer, I retreated to my car and called the number. The young lady who answered told me I was unable to make an appointment that day because the were booked up. I mentioned that I was calling from their parking lot in hopes she would invite me in but that did not happen. There were two cars beside my own in the lot! I informed her I would be flying out later that day hoping she would realize she was missing a possible sale. When I told her I would try a different shop, obviously disappointed, she said "OK, thanks!". When I drove by an hour later, still just the two cars from before... I understand appointments and the importance of them on busy days but to turn away business that is litteraly knocking at your door is just plain rude. read more

HORRIBLE! BUYER BEWARE! Wow, this was such an awful experience! I bought my dress 9 months before my wedding. I was never measured. The dress was guaranteed to be here in plenty of time for alterations but the designer was "running late." Finally, the dress was here 8 weeks before my wedding and it was huge! I had two 1.5 hr. fittings, the second one was worse than the first and it was obvious that my dress would probably not be done in time and definitely never look right; it looked completely different from the sample dress which I was told was not unusual for that designer, it was a $2,000 dress! I was super-stressed and upset and asked the consultant what could be done; she said it all had to go through the owner. I asked her to get me in touch with the owner. It turns out that Alexia, the owner, also owns Alexia Bridal in Raleigh (buyer beware!). She took several days to call me back and I called her daily, she was clearly avoiding me. When we finally did talk she said she had been on vacation. I asked her about going on vacation in June (the busiest bridal month) with no back-up, she said her salespeople could make decisions in her absence, not what they said! Alexia said there was nothing she could do but be there for a fitting, by this time we were down to the last 5 weeks. I told her that I thought it would be fair if we split the cost of the dress and she could keep it and sell it but she refused to do anything but alter that dress or exchange it for another dress by that designer (Pronovias). How she thought she could even get another dress in 5 weeks when it had originally took 10 months, I don't know. Finally, we parted ways with her stating that she would send me the dress (no refund or compromise) with recommendations where I could resale the dress, but when the dress came, no recommendations. She also had told me that no cutting would happen with alterations until after the final fitting but when the dress came it had been cut and altered and the original tags were off it and were not included in the box making it harder to resell. I just had my awesome wedding, all my vendors were amazing! I have very high-end taste. Alexia is dishonest and obviously only out for a buck! Keep your money for somewhere else. In fact, if you have the time and patience, check out the Wanda (consultant) and Besty (seamstress) at Bridalmart in Burlington, NC, you will walk away with a beautiful dress, no pressure and it will look gorgeous! read more

My dress experience was definitely one you would see in a movie. The first time I ever walked into the place I was amazed by all the beautiful dresses. For being a small store they have so many dresses. I worked with Brandi which so happened to have the same name as my sister(matron of honor), so it made for a fun day. Lets start off with the dressing rooms. You literally get a whole ROOM to yourself and whoever you bring with you, so you get intimate time with your loved ones as many other bridal shops have it where anyone could see you and it is chaos. It was special to experience this with my bridesmaids and my mom. Secondly, the dresses were all so beautiful it was hard to really focus on what I wanted to walk down the aisle because every single one is a GOWN! I know I am not a size 2 and tiny, half the dresses did not go past my hips. I normally wear an 8-10 jeans. It was a little discouraging but I kept pushing through the day because half of them did go past my hips lol! Brandi was very patient with me, and so sweet. The very last dress I tried on fit like a glove. It felt like it was meant to be, and myself and my bridesmaids were waterworks. This is the only bridal store I went into for myself, and I just so happened to find "the dress" the first day and shop I went to, but I would recommend this shop to anyone.
