I had a wonderful experience when I went for my bridal appointment. The bridal consultant was professional, asked me targeted questions to help me pin down my style preferences, and then measured me. I picked out styles of my own and once I decided what I liked and didn't like she brought over a few additional dresses for me to try. She made the experience complete by dressing me with lovely headpieces. I can't rave more about my great experience. She has a designers eye and panache. I will return to this review to add her name! This was my fourth visit to a David's Bridal location over the past three years--three times in Greensboro and once in Winston-Salem. My first visit was three years ago when I was searching for a mother-of-the-bride dress for my daughter's wedding. Since then, I've returned four more times this year, hoping each time that the experience would improve. Unfortunately, it never did. Today, I stopped by without an appointment--I was just driving by and wanted to see what they had. I didn't have high expectations, but I still hoped for decent customer service. I came in dressed nicely, ready to browse a variety of dresses for my engagement and wedding. I'm 51 years old, and while I may not fit the stereotypical image of a bride, I came in with every intention of finding something beautiful and meaningful. I started in the formal section and made my way to the bridal gowns. That's when an older employee approached me and asked, "Are you wanting a wedding dress?" I responded politely, but her tone and attitude made me feel like I didn't belong. Honestly, I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman--walking into a boutique and being judged unfairly. The difference is, I can afford a gown, and I've earned the right to be treated with respect. Instead, I was met with condescension and coldness. Feeling unwelcome, I put the dresses back and walked out. On my way out, I overheard three other women expressing their own disappointment with the service and saying they'd be taking their business elsewhere. That confirmed everything I was feeling. On a brighter note, I've previously visited New York Bride in Greensboro, and the ladies there were absolutely amazing. Their dresses are stunning, and while I didn't find the one during my visit, the experience was everything a bride hopes for--warm, supportive, and joyful. I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area. Needless to say, I won't be returning to David's Bridal--and I won't be recommending them to anyone. We all were helped by the amazing staff with getting fitting rooms, determining the color shades for the bridesmaid dresses, tailoring of the wedding dress and additional dresses for the bride. The staff was very patient, attentive and friendly to all of us. They ensured to make this a memorable experience for the bride, which I was very appreciative because that's one good friend of mine. Today my sisters went to my baby sisters bridal appointment, the entire bridal party sans 3 bridesmaids, but maid of honor and matron of honor were there. My baby sister is excited, she's getting married in December, she is plus size as well, her consultants name was Kathleen, the manager of the establishment is Wanda Ayers who I am going to contact after this as well as David's Bridal as a whole. First time for her in a bridal shop so she's expectations are high, not sharing a mirror with another bride and her party and a consultant who is listening to her needs and actually adhering to her wants. The first issue came when she started her fitting, my sister specifically said she wanted satin, fitted, no lace, no tulle, no ball gowns. When I say every single dress that this consultant brought her was a ball gown, it was lace, it was tulle, it was nothing she wanted or asked for. It seemed as though they wanted her to settle on something. Being her older sister it was very discouraging watching her face go from this excited glow to this shadow of doubt as she didn't get the whole bridal experience especially at David's Bridal, she felt they didn't cater to plus size brides a lot so they weren't necessarily listening or paying her attention, they were just shoving the biggest size dresses they could find to just be like this what we have and all you're going to get here. After she had tried on a total of 5 dresses, Kathleen came back into the fitting room and asked if she wouldn't mind coming back seeing as she isn't finding anything, her appointment was literally 30 minutes, we're supposed to get our bridesmaids dresses at David's Bridal, I won't be going to this one. I bought a dress and didn't end up wearing it the first time and found myself needing alterations when I was ready to wear it. Like any normal person I figured I would take it to the place I bought it to get the alterations. Big mistake They met the timeline the initially set. My mother picked it up because I live out of town, which was no problem. When I got ahold of the dress and tried it on I was disappointed. -Where they had taken different parts in they hadn't re-sewn part of the bead work and decorative flowers down. -Where they charged us extra to REMOVE beadwork they just over lapped with existing. They told me it had to be hand sewn bead by bead and that's why it was extra, which seemed realistic -at the top where they took it in they didn't even bother sewing the two pieces back together -the bussel they talked us into getting was only two buttons instead of three and didn't hold the weight of the dress well. Also when not busseled you could see the button because the layers were bunched up around it Absolutely ridiculous. Do. Not. Recommend. Could not attach the photos but will keep trying read more

I went into this location in October '22 to look around and purchase a dress. Everyone was super helpful but also not pushy for a sale. My mom, grandma, and I were able to freely look around the store and choose what went into the dressing room which was great since not many bridal stores are like this. I also didn't need an appointment which was a plus. However, when I went back to have my dress altered it was a completely different experience. The women who they have doing the alterations were TERRIBLE. They never asked my name, didn't try to make conversation, and made me feel awful. After everything was said and done the woman quoted me $600!!! That's more than the dress. I started to panic as she shoved a paper in my face for me to sign. Luckily I have a tiny bit of seamstress experience so I started questioning things she wrote down that needed to be altered. I caught her lying about what needed done and she ended up crossing multiple alterations off of the quote. At that point I felt as though she was trying to scam me and I was so uncomfortable. I took a picture of the receipt for the quote and again it didn't look correct. I ended up taking my own measurements because they looked off (I'm a size 6 and she had me measured for a size 14!!). She ended up adding 6 inches to my bust and 7 on my hips. I wrote this review because I don't want another bride to ever feel the way that these women made me feel. Having your first alterations done should be another happy milestone in the wedding process, not a time full of body shaming by mean women. If you have a good idea of what you're looking for in a dress go here to find it but do NOT subject yourself to the alterations department. Additionally, I had 2 other quotes done for my dress by professional tailors and they both quoted me around $200 for the same repairs if that tells you anything! read more

My study group I were on the hunt for gowns for the law school's annual Barrister's Ball and some how we ended up all the way in Greensboro. This David's Bridal is located off the ever busy Wendover Ave, but once you enter the store you are transported into a whole new world. When you first enter, you are immediately greeted by a receptionist who asks you what you are looking for and what type of event and dress you are looking for. After the receptionist directed my friends and I to the bridesmaids and evening dresses, we were buried in a sea of taffeta and satin. At first glance, it can be very overwhelming with all the dresses and styles but once you really get in the racks I noticed that the dresses were separated by style. After that realization, it was easy to find the dress I was looking for. It also helps that you are assigned a person on the floor to help you with the dresses and who also starts a dressing room. I really liked how helpful everyone was in the store, and I also liked that they had many different styles and sizes to try on. Having a larger chest size makes it hard for me to find formal gowns, but it was easy to find beautiful dresses that fit me or could be easily altered if needed. Only downside to the day was the few Bridezillas that managed to sneak over to the bridesmaids and evening gown side and raise hell about their bridesmaids dresses. Even with dealing with a stressed out bride, the employees here were all professional and accommodating. This is a great location, and I will keep DB in mind should I need another formal gown. read more

I would absolutely give this store a negative review if I could. My daughter and I shopped at the Greensboro store one nite in early March. We were assisted by Brea, who was very nice and helpful, and my daughter selected a beautiful dress. We ordered it and of COURSE paid for it IN FULL that night. A couple of weeks later, a dress arrived. However, it is the WRONG DRESS. It is a dress that my daughter didn't even TRY ON. We have never SEEN this dress before. The store manager states this IS the dress my daughter ordered. I have pictures of my daughter and a video of her ringing the bell and holding the "I found the one" sign while she was wearing the dress that she choose - and it ISN'T the one they sent us. How in the WORLD they made this HUGE mistake and ordered the wrong dress, I'll never understand. I'd be happy to return this dress and exchange it for the one that my daughter actually CHOOSE, but David's won't even do that. They aren't giving me my money back, NOR are they getting the correct dress to us! The LEAST they could do is take this dress back and give me my money so we could go elsewhere and purchase a dress. There are some privately owned bridal shops that are accepting appointments to shop for gowns, but without the return of my money, we can't even do that. David's refuses to take this wrong dress back and return my money, stating, "the store is closed during COVID." This is absolutely ridiculous. They could TAKE my money during this time if I ordered a dress online, but they CAN'T do a simple credit card transaction (credit) over the phone? There is no excuse for that. So here we are - the wedding is in a few months, and due to David's HORRIFIC ERROR and HORRIBLE customer service, my daughter will be without a dress on her big day. I have never been this furious over a purchase in my entire life. My fiancé and I are having our wedding in six months so we knew we were on a time crunch when it came to buying our dresses and the bridesmaids dresses. We came in one day just to look and the store manager Wanda was so helpful and was our bridal consultant the whole time. My fiancé found the dress she loved and I picked out one I thought everyone else loved. We came back two days later and had our bridesmaids try on dresses and my fiancé wanted to try hers on again, I didn't feel the same way about my dress this time. Ted was so understanding and helped me refocus on my vision of what dress I wanted and I was able to find my perfect dress with the image in mind of what I was wanting. I was in a large dressing room, which was nice & covered in mirrors but I didn't like the curtain closure & it just seemed EXTREMELY low budget ! I believe there are 3 people working currently. We had a bridesmaids appointment at 1:00 today, a bride's appointment at 2:00, and another appointment yesterday for bridesmaids as well. I am currently sitting with my sister and mother (the bride) and yesterday I was with my soon to be step sister. Yesterday we had to share the person we made an appointment with because they had to take care of girls who came in without an appointment for prom. The issue with this institution is that they require an attendant with every person who goes to the dressing room. So, if there are only 3 people in the store at a time, in theory only 3 people (or groups) can be trying on dresses at once. Yesterday, we were told our time would need to be cut once our hour was out, therefore we needed to return in an hour to have my mom try on wedding dresses (how is it so taboo an idea that the bride and bridesmaids could try on dresses at the same time?) So today, we came back for our 1:00 appointment. Well, our attendant was working with a bride who was already over her appointment so we were brushes to the side. Please note, we were not upset with the bride whatsoever. She ought to be welcome to have all the time she needed to find the right dress. But the attendant was a different story We were lucky enough to have her take a second to assign us to a dressing room. From there, we helped ourselves. We would have been happy to help my mom ourselves, but that was another taboo for David's Bridal. By 2:20 (20 minutes of waiting around into our pre-established appoint and picking out dresses that could have already been picked out of we hadn't been condoned for it earlier) we were talking with a manager. By 2:40 we took pictures of the dresses we were interested in and left without notice. Here are the issues I had today: 1) the appointments we were required to make were not honored 2) they were far too short staffed for the amount of people in there 3) the expectations required for the appointments were too high for the lack of service in the store 4) they were not taking proper notes of previous dresses my mom had tried on and that information was lost between attendant from yesterday to today My mother is a very sweet woman. My sister, step sister and I all live in 3 different states and all came into town for this and we're all on very tight time frames. For us all to leave the way we did is a rarity and what's worse is how happy my mom was to have us all there and how side swept we felt through this experience. Unless something drastic changes, I would never recommend this place. read more

Had the best experience at this David's bridal! It was my first time ever trying on dresses. When I first walked in I got overwhelmed but as soon as my associate, Melanie, came over everything was so much better. Melanie was absolutely amazing with me, and truly helped me find what I really liked. She really did great with the dresses too and truly led me to my final dress. I also feel like all the associates were helpful and very complimentary. The checkout experience went great with Ashley was also great and we scheduled my alteration consultation. The parking lot is filthy. The floors in the interior haven't been cleaned in ages. We'd scheduled an appointment for that bridal party. They were over an hour late starting with us. The rooms were filthy with trash and debris throughout. Horrible plus size options and their corsets are laughable for big busts. I'd rather go wear a paper bag than spend money at this dump. Most of the dresses I liked were only available in a few sizes and my stylist did nothing to help. On top of that, she was helping other people in the store during my scheduled appointment time. Our experience was top notch. My daughter's wedding is 5 weeks away. Our bridal consultant was Chazity. She had my daughter's favorites list found the ones in her size and picked several that were very close to what she liked. When she didn't have the one she thought was my daughter's top choice in her size at this store. Chazity called other stores and checked on order time all before we asked. This woman is wonderful! Just what you hope for in in a consultant. She deserves all the awards and incentives that David's have for their employees. Then we had to wait to get a consultant last minute before closing, after waiting close to an hour. My mom was in from out of town and we made an appointment. Once we got the consultant, She tried to limit us to three dresses. We didn't take no for an answer and tried on five or six. I've been to other David's bridals with the same poor service experience. We had a very enlightening trip to David's Bridal earlier today. After showing up for our 1:30pm appointment we were shown to a fitting room and told that we would be helped shortly. No one came to check in on us until more than 40 minutes later. Brea, our sales associate was unapologetic and unhelpful since she had not been there for any of the dresses that we had tried on. Instead, she took a few measurements for only part of the group and disappeared again. It wasn't until she heard our complaints from a coworker that she reappeared. When confronted about her complete lack of customer service and general etiquette she was defensive and combative rather than trying to either explain or apologize. Upon leaving the location, we noticed that she had taken thorough notes, not of our measurements or fittings but of our complaints towards her. If this is the standard of service for David's Bridal then I worry about the future of the business as I will never recommend this location to anyone looking for attentive, knowledgable, or polite sales associates. Brea should be properly trained or should be removed from the sales floor as she is in no way prepared for the face to face customer interaction her role requires. read more

My consultant stayed in my budget, listened to all the things I had to say, and was very professional. Today I went in to retry the dress with my own undergarments to see how everything fit and it was as perfect as the first time I put it on. Thanks to the whole staff. Each time I had a scheduled appt, the sales associate helped others, simultaneously. The associate who helped me make a purchase (J) was SO rushed and rude..until I forked over my credit card. She was grossly dishonest about the cost of altering/bustling the dress I purchased, leading me to spend over budget (alterations/bustling--several hundred dollars!). Then, she overcharged me on the dress at checkout. No one at this location would help me sort it out over the phone, so I had to file a complaint with my credit card company to get my refund. read more

I am only giving a star because it is required. I purchased a dress at the Greensboro store for my son's wedding and it was an absolute nightmare. They first told me that they did not even have the dress in any size, which was not true as I found several of them in the store. Unfortunately, they did not have my size so they ordered the dress. It did come in on time however it was damaged. There were holes in both sleeves as if someone pinned it to the hanger. When I inquired about replacing it, they told me there were none in the warehouse and I would have to pick out a different dress. I asked if it was available at a another store and was told that there were fifteen dresses in my size but they would have to call them and find out if the dresses were able to be sold. They did not offer to do that until I became insistent. They told me they would attempt to find the dress but several days and unreturned phone calls later, still no dress. In the meantime, I called another store and found out the location of the closet size 12 dress. I called that location and purchased the dress. They shipped it to my home and I had it in 2 days. I was able to accomplish it even while the store manager Moad was unable to do the same. A couple of days prior to the event, I received a call from the store stating that my dress had arrived. At this point, I did not care if I was stuck with 2 dresses because it was THE dress that I wanted. I went to the store and luckily, another manager was on duty so I explained the situation. She was extremely kind and helpful (I hate that I did not get her name) and she gave me a refund. It has now been 3 days since the wedding, and I am getting calls and text messages asking me to come and pick up the dress. I have already gotten a refund! The manager Moad and the Greeter Donna had no intentions of helping me locate another dress after mine arrived damaged. I was shocked considering this is THE STORE that brides and bridal parties come to in order to find THE DRESS that they want. These ladies are in the wrong business! My suggestion, DO NOT use the Greensboro store for your bridal needs. They are unconcerned with providing good customer service. read more

My whole experience was terrible. I went to get my bridesmaids' dresses because I thought it would be convenient for them since they are all over the country. When my sister and I were there, the customer service was poor. We were largely ignored and the store was not clean- and it wasn't even that busy. I found out later from one of my other bridesmaids that the dress we had picked was discontinued. David's Bridal never told me. I called this store and spoke with one of their "customer service representatives." I asked her why I had not been told when that dress was discontinued, and she replied that she didn't know. I asked if my sister could get a refund, and she said probably. I asked what I was supposed to do or if she could provide any information (my wedding is fast approaching), and she said that the store was busy and she'd have to call me back. Three and a half hours later, I had not heard from them. I called AGAIN, and this time it took about 10-12 rings for anyone to pick up. When someone did answer, she seemed annoyed. Must have been super busy still... I told her that I had called earlier and was never called back, and that I needed to speak to a manager. She didn't want to give the phone to the manager- but I insisted and she went to get her. When the manager came on, she was at least more polite. But it seemed that the original associate never told her about my call. So I got to tell the story all over again. She looked it up, confirmed that it was discontinued (thanks), and asked if there was another dress I liked. Um no... I asked how to get my sister a refund and told her I was taking my business elsewhere. It would have been one thing if this was just an oversight that I could have called and fixed with someone who was willing and able to help me. But the fact that there was essentially no good service from the time that I walked in to the time I asked for my refund is just insane. At least I'll have prettier bridesmaids dresses now- that's the only silver lining here. read more

We made a 20 minute drive to pick up a color swatch just to be told the color swatch we requested was "out of stock." We called back for days and never got anyone to answer the phone. I'm curious as to why there are so many negative reviews on here, because I had a lovely experience at the David's Bridal on Wendover. I made a bridal appointment online, and they called me the weekend prior to confirm the appointment. My party and I arrived right when they opened (10:30), and we were seen right away. The hostess was very welcoming, so my nerves were put at ease when we walked through the door. My consultant, Donyetta, was SO sweet and attentive to what I wanted in a bridal gown, and made sure to ask me first before I tried on a dress that was slightly over budget. She was helping another customer during my appointment (not a bride), but I never felt like I had to flag her down; she left to help the customer at appropriate times. We were able to find "the dress" after trying on a few! Since I was on a time crunch, we had alterations come in to pin the dress where it needed to be altered. The ladies who work in alterations are VERY kind and listen to your every request; it seems like there's nothing they can't do! When I came in a few days later to pick up the dress, it fit perfectly. We are in the VERY early stages of wedding planning for a 2014 wedding and have already heard some bad things about this place BEFORE we went this week to try on a few dresses. I'd like to say we were greeted at the door, but it was more like blocked at the door by a hostile woman asking if we had an appointment. I wouldn't dream of trying on wedding gowns without assistance from staff because I know they don't want make up or someone busting the zipper trying to squeeze into a small dress, but it was mandatory we tour the store!!!!!!????!!!!!! Several weeks ago I ordered a dress for my daughters prom, then I was told I would have to select a larger size to get it before her prom date. I agreed and then at check out I was told I was charged a rush fee to get it and that it did not show up until checkout. Then I come in today at 4:10pm to pick it up and asked about alterations because we already knew it was too big. The not very polite greeter told me it would be 30 minutes before we could be seen. When she got back with the dress she stated she would put it up front until the folks in alterations could see us. I asked if she needed to let someone know we were waiting. She then said she would let them know. Once on the phone with them she responded back to them okay I will set up her appointment. She then asked for my phone number so she could make the appointment. I asked her what time and she stayed she could do it any day or time.....still thinking that we were talking approximately 30 minutes I said 30 minutes would be fine. She then said ,"Oh no, they don't have availability until 7pm. I reminded her that she said 30 minutes. I then agreed to come in on Saturday and asked her what was the earliest appointment she looked confused and then said, "they come in about 10ish." So I said 10. I am guessing from 10ish and the other reviews that it will be later. What is sad is that there were only 2 other people in the store looking at dresses. She then asked the event date and let me know there would be a rush fee. I am guessing they like to screw everyone with "Rush Fees". This will be my last time here. My bridal consultant was incredible. Today we went for our bridesmaids dress appointment and were greeted by the rudest woman I have ever dealt with. She was short with us and lied to us about available colors for a dress we chose. I had my heart set on sangria for the color of the dresses. She told us it wast available for the dress I chose but when we got home we went on the website and it's not only available in store but also online! Incredibly disappointed read more

I was not thoroughly impressed with this place. I feel like they didn't listen to what I was saying or what I would like. The stylist kept going through dresses and asking if I liked this or that, when I had just mentioned I wasn't interested in certain types (and I have gone through the rows myself to see what caught my eye and didn't). I felt like I wasn't made to feel important and it was extremely difficult trying to find my stylist. Appointments typically run an hour which is ridiculous, especially if your stylist is going to spend more time helping other people than you. If you make an appointment, the appointment should be about you and helping you, not wasting time. I mentioned to my stylist that I really liked long sleeves because I'm planning on getting married in a cooler month. Lace is gorgeous in my opinion. In expressing that, my stylist then tells me that with any dress I like that didn't have sleeves, I can buy material at hobby lobby or Michaels and take it to them and they can alter it that way. I'm sorry, but I feel like I shouldn't have to do that, especially if I don't want my dress to look tacky? To me it wasn't very helpful at all and I really don't think I'll be back. Between the staff not really caring about what you're looking for, wasting time, and not even listening, it isn't the place I would go. I'm sure there are people who have great experiences here, but for me it just was not a fit. read more

I had a bridal appointment this past Saturday at David's Bridal and it was an amazing experience. I'll admit I was a bit reluctant to shop at David's Bridal as I just thought it was a generic store with ho-hum shopping, but I was proven wrong. I was able to seamlessly schedule an appointment online. I arrived on time and was greeted by a woman at the door. She checked me in and told me to look around and my consultant would come find me. I went with my mom and we started looking through the racks, and I was already overwhelmed! After only about 5 minutes of looking, my consultant, Brenda, found me. She asked me some preliminary questions of what I was looking for and then took me to my fitting room. She went and pulled me a couple dresses to try on to start. I LOVED the first one but wanted to continue to try on other options. Everything she brought me were either dresses I had told her I was interested in, or similar silhouettes/designs. I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and didn't force me to anything I wasn't interested in. She was fun and extremely helpful! I ended up buying the first one I tried on! I am so happy with the whole experience. Brenda even helped me after I had found the dress with fabric swatches and bridesmaid dress options. If you go to this location, ask for Brenda!! She is awesome and will make sure you find your perfect dress!! read more

This is the worst bridal store to go to. The customer service is awful. They jam so many girls in the schedule at one time and then they are rushing you to be done within your time slot. If you try to call corporate and speak with someone you are told you are not allowed to speak with the management team. Worst place ever! Do not buy your wedding dress from this store. read more
