With this being a chain and having SO much on their website, I was disappointed with the selection. They had barely anything to choose from for wedding dresses. My experience and review is from a bridesmaids point of view. Shopped here for a bridesmaids dress for my friends wedding. She made the appointment pretty late - her wedding is in October and she ended up making our appointment at the end of July. I can't remember our consultant's name, but she assured my friend we would be able to order some styles and get them in on time. Unfortunately the color she planned to have us wear wasn't what she was looking for in the David's bridal color wheel. She wanted a burgundy color but not too red or not too brown. This could just be her being picky, but she ended up settling for a completely different color - navy. We only tried on two styles of dresses that David's assured we would get in time. Everyone bought the dress that day. What I liked about shopping: they have plus size dresses to actually try on. It was nice I didn't have to squeeze into a size or two smaller when trying on dresses. Also we purchased the dresses July 29 and I received mine August 16. Some of the other bridesmaids got theirs even earlier. The alterations department is very nice and it seemed fairly priced for just a hem. Dislikes: it's hard to say but it just seems like the quality of their dresses don't match the price. I paid around $160, and that's with a $30 off discount they were offering that weekend, for a dress I feel like doesn't look anywhere near the $190 retail value. It's not a terrible dress, but it's something I feel like I can find at Kohl's for $75 at most. All the other dresses felt the same. I'm in the process of planning my own wedding and I do not plan on having my bridesmaids shop here for their dresses. My one star is based on how the staff misrepresented their payment plans. My sister was excited to go try on dresses and after a few hours she found the dress. Cut to walking up the register and start discussing payment of the gown, they asked if we wanted to pay for the gown own our own or make payments. After a conversation with my sister we said payments would be perfect. Well the "payment" option is a ploy to get you to apply for their credit card. So after going back and forth of getting them to explain why payment in full was being asked if I was approved for the full amount on their credit card, they stated that they could only run the card for $700... This is when everything got voided and we just said forget it, we will look at other stores. I am currently on hold as the credit card was charged the $700 and the credit card company is claiming that David's Bridal never submitted the voided receipt. While the store employees are very polite, the situation I am experiencing trying to make a return is completely unacceptable. I ordered a few dresses online, my daughter kept one and wanted to return the others. When I arrived at the store with all the dresses to return 3 of the dresses showed "in process" in the David's system even though I had received them. The store told me I probably hadn't been charged yet and could not return the items. Upon returning home I found that I had in fact already been charged the full amount for all the dresses. I spoke to the store again and they asked that I be patient and that they would email customer service. I have tried to call customer service several times and can not get through. After a week, I was able to see the items online as available for a return. However, once I selected the items to return an error message says that the order can not be found. I again called the store and am waiting for resolution. The return window is now at risk of passing. This is completely unacceptable. Beware! read more

First- make an appointment- you should do that at every bridal shop so they can be prepared for you. If you just walk in and they are busy, you should expect less service. I definitely enjoyed my David's Bridal experience for my wedding- but it wasn't anything super special or exciting. We made an appointment well in advance for bridesmaid and bridal appointments. We started with the bridesmaids, and I told my consultant they could have whatever dress in their size- as long as it came in a particular color. She suggested it would probably be better if they also had the same fabric- and she was right. She helped them all out, found different sizes and dresses as needed, and was friendly (not super attentive, but good enough). As for my experience, I tried on two dresses and that was all (I wanted to find my one and be done with it). The dress she suggested that I ended up purchasing was absolutely beautiful. I got compliments all night on my dress and knew it was the right one. She even chose it for me based on how I described what I wanted. The other thing that was nice was that it fit perfectly- so I only had to pay to have it hemmed and bustled (I did not use their alteration services as I have a friend who does it- so I cannot comment on that part). Did I have a good experience? Yes Did I get a dress that was a reasonable price for me? Yes Did I feel super "special" as the bride? No- but that was fine with me. I also like their policy that if you change sizes you can bring your dress back in and swap for free- a nice idea since brides are often changing weights. I SAID YES TO THE DRESS! Emily was very sweet and made me feel comfortable and relaxed! She was so helpful when my entourage asked her to have me try on dresses and accessories they thought would suit me! She made sure it was what I wanted, and then ran to get it off the rack for me! I was a little overwhelmed, since I didn't have a specific style in mind! But to my surprise she figured it out immediately! I ended up saying yes to her first choice! So as they are trying on dresses and asking each other ... do I like this one ..... or should we try something like this? Instead of helping and listening to what we were saying! ESPECIALLY me being the bride and hearing me say I love that dress a million times! She would interrupt our discussions on what we liked and what we didn't like to say "is this a no? Can we take this back?" At one point ... pointed to the girl with the dress STILL ON and says "so this is a no? I can take this one back?" Wtf!?!? She was still wearing it! We were discussing the dress vs the one I liked! she comes back from grabbing a dress my MOH request from the catalog with a RIDICULOUS attitude and says "your PACK LEADER said we have to look at this one" pack leader!?!? At least someone was leading the "appointment" she had no interest in what I liked or what we were looking for! She just wanted to put everything back! The problem with this location is that their dresses are nice but they don't care about your business. I came here in a bit of a time crunch (had a half hour or so) looking for a dress to wear to a friends wedding. I knew what I wanted and found it immediately. I put my name on their little list which only had about 3 or 4 other names on it and told her I just needed to get a dressing room. I asked how long it would be and mentioned that I didn't have a lot of time. She told me "oh just a couple of minutes" but I ended up standing around for 20 minutes holding the 3 dressed I wanted to try on. A women came over and asked "are you just waiting for a dressing room?" I thought yes she's going to get me one! But instead she said "it'll just be another few minutes." I told her I couldn't believe they were going to lose a sale over a dressing room, handed her my dresses and walked out. I guess make an appointment or have nothing else to do the day you come here. As a plus-sized bride, I was absolutely terrified to go dress shopping. I cannot say enough about how glad I am I chose to shop first at a large chain like David's Bridal & that I chose to schlep out to this location. First of all, this store is stunning. It's completely renovated and modern, and really gives the feeling of luxury. I have been to a couple other locations that were a little more dated, so I picked the Schaumburg because we all know Schaumburg has the best of everything. Secondly, going with a large chain didn't seem so glam at first, but I'm glad I did, because for me it equaled more options. It being my first time ever trying on gowns, my spirit would have been totally crushed if I had had an experience like the ones I've had at a couple smaller, boutique-y places I've tried where there were only a few dresses that would even go on my body. Also, I am so pleased that I was matched up with Melissa. She listened intently to what I wanted, liked, didn't like, etc. I never once felt pressured by her and it felt like she genuinely cared about my satisfaction, not just her commission. She also never once made me feel fat, which seems like a given, but having had a couple experiences in which I was made to feel like an absolute whale, I have a deep appreciation for Melissa's demeanor. In fact, I left my first appointment feeling beautiful and very optimistic about finding a dress. I booked another appointment with her the next weekend and even though they were much busier and Melissa was spread pretty thin, she was never impatient with me and always apologized sincerely when she had to leave me to tend to someone else. My "front runner" is a beautiful Oleg Cassini, which I have enjoyed looking at pictures of myself in, since they allow that. Some places don't which I think is so silly because I can hardly remember what a dress looked like on me hours later, nevermind days or weeks. It's definitely smart to allow photography, as I have grown to love my potential gown so much more from staring at the photos and will likely end up purchasing it! I came here for my wedding gown. I ended up ordering it. They insisted I go up a size, i almost felt pressured in to it. So i did. The manager that placed my order told me the dress would be shipped to the store and they would call me for me to try it on and pick it up. I asked of the dress was too big if they could exchange it. She said yes. The dress comes in. Its shipped to my house from the store. I called upset they apologized. I try the dress on and its huge. To the point that alterations would make the dress look different. I called them. And they told me they couldn't do anything about it, i asked they look at my account as it wasn't the 1st issue i had. They placed me on hold and agreed to exchange the dress only if their alterations rep approved that this would be the best thing to do. I had to come in. Try the dress on. And have the alterations rep approve. The manager that day was great. So different from the original manager that helped me order then original dress. This would have probably been a 1-2 stars if it wasn't for this second manager. I work customer service and that the number one thing i look for when i go to places. I found the perfect gown and was so impressed with Pam! She was genuinely a pleasure to work with. She found 10 gowns for me to try on, and I ultimately fell in love with one of the dresses she suggested which I never would have chosen when looking at it on the hangar. When deciding between two sizes, Pam quickly got one of the alterations experts to come and check the fit, to ensure that I chose the correct size. We had a good experience both times we went. The staff is courteous and friendly. This is the NICEST David's Bridal I have ever been to. They were able to help my bridesmaids with their exchange no problem. I'm very thankful for that. My only complaint: They could REALLY use a whole new stock of bridesmaids dresses. They don't have every bridesmaid dress size available to try on and MANY of the dresses had rips, tears, stitches missing, busted zippers & were fairly stretched out. How can someone order the correct size when A) not every size is available to try on & B) the sizes aren't the actual size anymore because they've been stretched out & are obviously very old/used. read more

This location is amazing! My Mother and I had to get dresses to wear to my Stepbrothers wedding. We only had a few weeks so we had to buy on the racks which was fine. I recommend making an appointment to make sure you have a fitting room, avoid the weekends and don't shop last minute. My Mother is in a wheelchair she had some issues with the dressing room, it's not really handicapped friendly. However the staff is friendly and helpful and we did find dresses to wear. I would give this location a 100+ stars!! LIZ & Fay were my life savers. They were actually committed and making sure everything was clear in communication. I went to another location (Naperville off of aurora ave) to order a bridesmaid dress. Due because of my heath having COVID back to back, I couldn't come in to exchange and or return. Policy says 7 days to return for a refund but didn't make sense bc I didn't even have the dress in my possession because it was ordered. Naperville ordered me 4 sizes to big and didn't even measure me CORRECTLY!!!! There measurements were a size 6. Schaumburg's measurements were a 2!!!! 4 sizes different!!!! Naperville's location, staff doesn't even knowledge you on what you want. It's what THEY WANT!!!!! Went to DB to look at options for a wedding dress. Had Ella for our consultant and she was Amazing! She made us feel super comfortable while I was trying on dresses she was making conversation to my mother in law which I thought was awesome! Usually people are awkward and quiet but she made everyone feel comfortable and and very relatable. I showed different styles I liked and she brought them out as well as her suggestions. She really Went out of her way to bring out different veils purring shoulder sleeves- everything to make sure It was what I envisioned. Tenesha was also really sweet and helped us our really made everyone feel comfortable. Overall it was such a great experience everything was clean a lot of selections and really helpful staff. Finding the right wedding dress and wedding dress shopping at this location was fine and I worked with Valerie which was great! She's amazing and is the only reason why my review gets at least 1 star. My wedding dress cost $649 and I have already spent more in alteration costs than I did my wedding dress! The customer service at this store is horrible. They are not friendly and appear very snobby and stuck up. You get a simple hello when you walk in and that's basically it. I have completed 2 dress fittings so far and each time, they have been late to take me ( 20-25 minutes late). They are either unorganized or need to work on staffing but having it happen a second time has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. The alteration costs is À la cart prices and some staff don't tell you how much it costs for each thing they are working on. (Dahlia does a good job of explaining pricing though). I had my second dress fitting today to have the hem taken up and to get the bustle done. I was never made aware of costs and all I knew from my previous fitting (which Dahlia told me) was that to take the hem up would cost roughly 150. I was aware that I would be spending at least that amount today but to my surprise, my total was $309! But then, someone else rang me up at the register and said that my seamstress added wrong and my total is really $360! Where do they get these numbers from? It would have been nice to know what they were doing to my dress and how much each item would cost. This place does a great job of nickel and diming you. I don't recommend anyone to get their alterations done here. It's a joke and the staff are not very knowledgeable. And if you do plan on getting alterations done, plan on being there for at least 2 hours and don't plan on starting right at your appointment time. read more

The bridesmaid dresses are extremely overpriced for the quality, but I guess they can be considering they have the best selection in color and style. I purchased two pairs of flats online, two styles in size 8 and size 8w because I wanted to ensure one pair would fit for my wedding. The first pair was so tight and small you could see the outline of my crunched toes, and the second was so big I only had to lift my foot for it to fall off. Don't come here for alterations. They overcharged me for bustling services that they had to redo and then charged me to fix the same problem on two different occasions. All in all, I spent close to $400 on alterations that should have cost $150 at the most. I feel cheated and recommend that you go anywhere but here for alterations. The manager was very nice but that doesn't bring back all the money they stole from me. Staff is nice but corporate and alterations do everything they can to suck out every penny they can. read more

I ordered a dress 6/6, was originally told it should ship within 8 weeks. I called every few weeks to get updates on the dress, then was told it should arrive 9/13-9/16. Now I'm being told 9/26. I am the maid of honor in a wedding and have yet to receive my dress. This is over THREE MONTHS for a sinpbridesmaid dress. I would NOT recommend coming here for a dress if you expect it on time. UPDATE: I standby my opinion to NOT go here! When my sister and I had picked the final bridesmaid dresses, we worked with a consultant. Consultant ordered the two colors we chose.. quartz and ballet. The bridesmaids went to DB on their own time and tried on dresses. Once the dresses start arriving a couple weeks before the wedding, the colors were WRONG! I am finally getting around to writing this review. I almost wrote a letter to the company as a formal complaint. Unfortunately, I ran our of time. This appointment was for my bridesmaids. I had two of the three with me. The other had tried on a few in another state, and they were supposed to be on file for the others to try on as well. They mysteriously lost any record of those dresses or her being there. (Isn't this the whole reason for using them?) The consultant then began showing up dresses that were in the photos of my other bridesmaids...nope, it was not them at all! She had no idea what we were asking for and then couldn't even extrapolate and pick more. We ended up going around and choosing the dresses. Then, my girls were on their second dresses when the consultant came over to let us know that she had to take on another appointment (tacky, but whatever). She then asked my two bridesmaids to share a dressing room. This was a dressing room that was made for ONE person, not a bridal one by any means. We all could not believe that this was a practice. How do you know that these two even know each other, let alone be comfortable dressing together? Her appointment tried on and left. We were left with no consultant and we roamed the store on our own and completed the appointment without her. I was completely frustrated and did not want to go back to DB. This is THE WORST David's Bridal I've ever set foot in, and hope to never set foot in again. 2 of my bridesmaids live out of town, one teaches overseas in American schools and is periodically back in Chicago for summer breaks. So I had to stagger my bridesmaid dress shopping. I went with my bridesmaid who teaches overseas before she left, and before I shopped with my other bridesmaids. We were getting ideas, and from the moment we said that, our sales associate was "done" with us. She would disappear, and angrily walk to our room (upon request only) to rush-deliver dresses. She was extremely condescending to my bridesmaid. We complained and had a new associate assigned. Later that day, I called and complained to customer service. That same bridesmaid was back in town during Thanksgiving, after my other bridesmaids bought their dresses. When she's in town, she lives in Schaumburg, so we went there again for convenience's sake. I called ahead, SPECIFICALLY asking for a different associate than the one we had. Sure enough, who is assigned to us when we arrive? The same witch. It's bad enough that 6 months later, she's still working there, but that she's assigned to us after I specifically asked her not to be. The fact that we were BUYING a dress that day did not make her less rude. The next day, I again called and complained to customer service. This time, I asked for some retribution. "All together, my bridesmaids spend about $500 on your company. What can YOU do to make sure I give you more business?" I asked for a gift card to buy jewelry or bags, or a discount on what my girls spent. Nothing. I'm not dissing David's as a company, just the Schaumburg location. STAY AWAY. read more

I only came to this location once so one of my bridesmaids could try on some dresses. I had the dress picked out already (it was a Vera Wang dress that could be worn again, not one of those cheesy bridesmaids dresses) -- she just needed to figure out which size she was and order it. We found the dress on the rack in a different color than I wanted, which was OK since I pretty much narrowed it down to two colors. She tried on one size and it seemed too big. They didn't have the next size down, but they had the one two sizes down. That one was too tight. When we asked an employee for assistance/measurements, an annoyed woman came over, told me she had someone else to help, stared at my bridesmaid's hair color (I think it was orange at the time), gave her a quick look-over and told her that she'd definitely fit in the size she wasn't able to try on. Since it was a month away from the wedding, we kind of had to order the dress. So we went back and forth between the dresses and finally decided to trust the lady and got that size. When the dress finally arrived, it was a bit too tight. Alterations couldn't be done to it. At the wedding, my bridesmaid wore that dress during the ceremony and then changed into something more comfortable afterwards because she couldn't stand it. I wish we had gotten the one that was a bit too big -- at least it could be altered. We should have consulted with someone else too. But oh, wait, everyone was too busy to help us since we were only making one 'small' purchase that day. What a waste of money for that dress. Avoid this location. read more

So my sister is engaged! Woooo! She already has set the date, and has an appointment tomorrow at a boutique since that's the only place nearby that has the specific dress she is interested in. She doesn't want to get the brides maid dresses at this boutique, since they will probably cost more there than at a typical bridal spot. So, we decided to go to David's Bridal. We walked in and were immediately asked if the bride was registered there. My sister told them that she was not, and this was her first time out looking for brides maids dresses. Clearly, the lady was displeased with this answer. We were pointed in the direction where they had brides maid dresses and told we could go have a look and she would send someone over to help us. We go walk through and look at brides maid dresses for color once, check out the junior brides maid dresses since one is in the party as well. Then go through the dresses again to look at style. No one ever came to help us, or even ask if we need help. The lady that spoke to us at the door happened to be over by the brides maids dresses but did not offer to help us, or to get us help as she had previously said she would...didn't even acknowledge us. We definitely will not be going back here, especially after having a better experience at the other bridal store just down the road immediately after. read more

I was so very disappointed with this David's Bridal. I had an appointment and arrived on time for my appointment with two bridesmaids. First, I had to wait 30 minutes in the front for a wedding coordinator. Finally, no one showed up, so my bridesmaids picked out a couple dresses with me and we just went towards the back. A coordinator saw us and immediately ushered us into a changing room. She took down some notes and took our dresses. So, we sat there for another 15 minutes until she came back with the wrong size slips. And then, she asked us again for our dress sizes and what color bridesmaid dress. At this point, she took on another bride and already had her in a gown. Then, she saw me, heaved a huge sigh and then, said "Oh, yeah - I forgot about you. What dress sizes did your bridesmaids want? And go through this catalogue and pick out a couple of your favorites." Another 15 minutes go by and she comes back with a suggested dress (which btw, I really did not like and didn't have anything that I asked for except for maybe the fact that it was white) and still didn't have bridesmaids dresses. We gave her our top four favs for wedding dresses. Another 15 minutes go by and she finally comes back with one size (out of four requested sizes) of the bridesmaid dress. And nothing for me. At this point, I haved noted that other brides have already tried on at least 4-5 dresses. Finally, after another 20 minutes, she comes back with ONE dress out of the four requested. And she failed to help me get into the dress or any of the previous customer service that I experienced at other stores. As lovely as the dress was, the customer service was such a big turn off. Another 20 minutes passed by as she helped another customer while I sat there - she left me sitting there in a slip and bra - I was so bored that I even tried on the bridesmaid dress (btw - that's a completely different story of how many times she asked us for the color and sizes) We ended up leaving but one of my bridesmaid did call up and give the manager her exact opinion of our disappointment in their customer service. I feel that I wasted two hours of my life that I would like to get back while waiting...and with that poor customer service. Also, I was told me that I should try coming back on weekdays when it's not so busy because apparently, people that work come in on weekends. After that poor experience, I will not be purchasing anything from David's Bridal and will not recommend this store to anyone else. read more

Myself and my friend who is the bride had a positive experience here yesterday. We worked with Sandra and tried on some dresses. Sandra was very patient, got sashes and veils for the bride to try on, was honest. It was great. We ended up leaving to think on it with a plan to actually go back to buy because the bride was in love. Bride hasn't ordered the dress yet or received it so review may change but the trying on and shopping experience with Sandra was very positive. read more

This was our second stop of the day for bridesmaid dress shopping this past weekend. There is a DB closer to my house, but I didn't like that one that much, and I didn't get my dress from there, so I felt weird going back for bridesmaid dresses. I decided to go to the Schaumburg location instead. Figured it might be okay since it's Schaumburg and there's a lot of nice stores in the area. Nope. My appointment was for 2pm. We arrived a little early, around 1:30. I checked in at the front and was told we could just look around and come back to the front when it's 2. So that's what we did. There weren't as many dresses as I was expecting there to be. They seem to have a bigger selection online. There were a lot of dresses, sure, but a lot of them were the same style in a bunch of different colors. I personally would rather see multiple styles. You can think of the color dress you want in your head, not to mention that there are swatches of colors there, so you can get an idea. Anyway, to expedite the process, my awesome bridesmaid grabbed everyone's selections and had me go through them to see which ones I liked and which ones I didn't. Then everyone grabbed the dresses we liked in their sizes so they could try it out. We were pretty much ready to go by 1:45, so we stood near the front, waiting, and waiting. I understand they were busy and probably didn't have consultants ready to help us, but I did see some people standing around watching us, so maybe someone could have asked if we had any questions or at least made us feel welcome. Finally, 2pm rolled around and we met our consultant whose name escapes me. She saw we had already pulled dresses so she didn't get to do her speech about colors and whether we wanted short or long. We were already ahead of the game. We went to the back with her toward the fitting rooms. Damn is that a small space. It's one thin aisle with dressing rooms on both sides. Only a curtain guards you from viewing eyes. I think my bridesmaids only tried on about 3 different dresses before we were done. One of the dresses was a strapless satin number. Very clingy. Even some of my girls who are on the thin side felt uncomfortable in it, giving them the appearance of a gut when I know they don't have one. I said I was having an outdoor wedding and the consultant said she wore a dress like this to a wedding once and she was very comfortable in it and moved around well. We all saw through that lie. The girls could barely move! Once I saw how quickly this appointment was going, I figured I had to go back out and try to find some more dresses since we drove this far. The cosultant said she would go hang up the dresses we tried on and then help me look. She didn't help me look. She kinda just stood back as I looked through the racks instead of trying to convince me that maybe this style might work or provide any suggestions. Nada. That makes shopping super frustrating. I know jack sh*t about dresses. Some advice would have been helpful. I finally said "Nope. Nothing else." and that was the end of the appointment. She just stood there awkwardly as we were talking about a dress from a different store. Way too crowded here. Even the other DB's wasn't this crowded and it was a Saturday. And we felt much more welcome there than we did here. So glad to get out of that store. Please don't go here. Oh and also, since I got spam emails constantly after going to the other DB, I gave this location the wrong email address and a disconnected phone number. Sorry. Gotta do what you gotta do. I also reported DB to the marketing email company that sends out the emails and I'm now on their global "do-not-email" list. Haven't gotten one since. Suck on that! read more

I took my bridesmaids to this David's Bridal this past July. It was a zoo! I understand that because we visited the store on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived, not only did they lose my appointment, but we had to wait an extra half hour before we were attended to. The sales person who eventually worked with us brought the wrong dresses for me to try on.. and I was accidentally head-butted by the woman. Her head butting me was my fault, but it was just not a very good experience. I recommend going to the David's Bridal in Lombard instead. read more

I'm really glad I waited to write my review for David's Bridal. It seems that unless you are actually purchasing your wedding dress the day you are in, you don't really receive the attention and care when you are in with your bridesmaids for their dresses, for example. My wonderful mother surprised me with a trip to David's a month or two ago after being engaged for just about a month. My goodness, the fuss they make over you if your are trying on wedding dresses. The service is second to none, the managers are more than available to help you and they will tell you anything you want to hear. Good thing, I'm in sales, and I don't fall for much B.S. I was very glad I had my mother, grandmother and sister (and MOH) there to give me real opinions. It wasn't until I had on my dress that I knew the compliments of "this dress and that dress" were real. People that worked there, strangers in the dressing rooms and other brides actually gasped when I stepped out into the main area of the fitting rooms with my dress on. I knew it was the dress. I kinda knew it when I was in the dressing room and before even seeing it in the mirror. It just felt like the one. The pricing was great. I even had a gift card/coupon to use on my purchase my sister had gotten her hands on. We also glanced at bridesmaids dresses while we were there and I fell in love with one immediately. It looked great on the hanger and even better on my sister. Knowing that she's the most difficult to fit (sorry sis), I knew this was the dress for my girls. It is beautiful and flowy and is a gorgeous apple red color. I have been in a number of times since the first time in to fit my other sisters and even picked up my step-mother's dress here. Most recently, we were in to pick up two of my sister's dresses. To our disappointment, one of the two dresses wasn't in yet. Both my step-mom and I recalled getting an email that they were both in, but they were not. Probably our mistake, but it really was disappointing being that they drove all the way out from Algonquin. Perhaps, when you make the appointment, they could confirm what you are coming in for over the phone and to make sure everything is in. That's just good customer service in my eyes. Please note, you need an appointment even if you are just coming in to pick up and try on one dress. Kinda silly because in the 4 or 5 times I have been in, there are more dressing rooms not being use than actually being used. Now, let me lastly point out, that my wedding isn't for more than a year from now, so I'm really ahead of the game and glad I am because I would hate to be rushing anything, including having my girls get alterations. Overall, I like this location. I like most of the staff, I just wish their customer service was through and through. read more

Wow! Having my daughter call in tears is never good, so thought I could share some details. They have screwed up her ordered dress twice now and are hoping to get it right on the 3rd try... Is this baseball? 1st try the dress was so bad my daughter refused it knowing fixing the flaws would be next to impossible. 2nd try they shipped in the wrong color but didn't bother to call since there were possible bridesmaid sales hanging in the balance. Now the correct(?) dress is due in Monday. "Sorry nobody told you not to bother driving 1.5 hours". Oh your Mom drove from Ohio for nothing also? "Sorry, everything should be good by Monday, here's a contact # for corporate". They even called the day before to make sure the "extra sales opportunity" was confirmed, just forgot to mention that the WRONG wedding dress is here waiting for you. Beware this location appears to only care about sales... Not satisfaction. Maybe ruining 1 girls wedding experience doesn't matter to this chain or... maybe there are many other negative stories too. read more

After my disastrous visit at Marrilee this David's Bridal felt like a haven of peace, style and good taste. Dress shopping was THE thing I dreaded the most in the wedding preparation. So I spent hours on the internet beforehand browsing hundreds of gowns to try to get a vague idea about what I wanted. When I walked in the store (without appointment) I knew what was my favorite dress in their collection for my price range. I tried it on first, added three or four others for good measure and 30 minutes later, bought the aforementioned dress. It looked good on me - even if at the time I was less than convinced: it's so awkward!! But it was a great choice for my body type and not a bad one for my budget either. read more

My sister found her dress here this past weekend! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about different types of fabric. It is helpful if you look on the David's Bridal website before your appt and add some dresses to your "favorites". From our experience this was not the type of bridal salon that you can give them a price point and ideas of dress style and wait for dresses to be pulled for you. Either arrive early to your appt and shop through the racks or add dresses to your "favorites" on their website. Love the Vera Wang and Melissa Sweet dresses here! They also had a sale rack that spanned an entire wall with probably 300 dresses with prices slashed at 30-40% off. Great way to find a discontinued dress style if you are okay with buying an off the rack dress. Alterations here are not too pricey for a bridal gown. My sister's dress was quoted at about $150 for a relatively complicated bustle and an additional $50 or so to take it in at the top a little.. The mother of the bride dresses are awful!! Bridesmaid dresses are kind of hit or miss too. Okay if you really like a very "bridesmaidy" kind of style. They carry the Felina bras here which are the BEST bridal undergarment! Even if you have your dress already, totally worth it to stop in and buy your bra here. read more

Such a disappointing experience. Me and 3 other bridesmaids had an appointment this past Saturday late afternoon. It started off on a sour note. My best friend (bride to be) called in advance to have a few styles pulled. The girl helping us was clueless from the get go. Nothing was pulled or noted. So basically we fend for ourselves in the madness the entire time. Our girl is usually no where to be found. She doesn't measure us until after we have tried on 6-7 styles. Never suggesting styles, shoes, ANYTHING. After an hour we were told our time was up (not asking us what we thought, if suggest any styles, set up another appt) We left with nothing. I will never come back here. It is an unorganized, chaotic nightmare. read more

So...David's Bridal corporate office reached out to me after my previous review. With literally one week to go until my wedding day they said the only thing I could do was go back to the same store and have the store manager look at the dress and see if they could fix it. Well, sorry, but the definition of insanity is repeating the same actions and expecting a different result. I wasn't going to go back to the same store and the woman who I was on the phone with just kept saying then it was my fault that they couldn't help me. I'm sorry, I don't have time to drive 2 hours round trip to return to a store that was so colossally disappointing. "We would love to help you if you'd let us - you don't even have to talk to Natalie, we can schedule you for a time when she isn't there." Please - your employee(s) screwed up and then the corporate office willingly threw the alterations team under the bus. Poor form. At the wedding, two of the bustle loops ripped out and my dress dragged on the ground or I had to carry it around with me and the hook and eye closure on the dress itself tore and throughout most of the reception my dress was unzipping in the back. My mom literally took the train of my dress and tucked it up into the opening in the back to get it off the ground. I was not particularly rough on the dress. It's just a dress, and, in the end, it didn't "ruin my day" but...the quality of the work that had been done by David's Bridal truly sucked and the way they handled the situation was even more disappointing. Lesson learned - please learn from my mistake and avoid this place. read more

I swear, my experience here made me feel like this was the sweatshops of bridal stores. Mind you, I just came from Wedding Belles where I had this great experience, there was consensus on the dress I loved, and we loved the selection and price. Here, they had a HUGE selection, but for my budget (dollar for dollar), I felt like you get A LOT more dress at a better quality at Wedding Belles. To be fair, I was only trying on dresses under $1k (and the dresses at Wedding Belles are samples...which mean retail they could be over $1k) and I don't know how the other expensive dresses fit or feel. The "consultant" didn't really do much. We ended up pulling all of the dresses but one we couldn't fine, and my friend got me in and out of all the dresses. I would recommend David's Bridal as a place to start....and I know people that purchased beautiful gowns there for their weddings, but I just didn't find the right one here. read more

Wow, it seems the majority of people strongly dislike this place!! I am not getting married; however my sister is. We've had nothing but good experiences, the 3 times we've been here. There's tons of online sales and although I called to ask about plus size and $99 dresses, those pickings were very slim to none.... Also I've called 6 different times or so and am always put on hold immediately - this location is super busy, especially on weekends! We told our friendly, helpful, prompt, and knowledgable consultant our price range and what we were looking for.. My sister tried on 3 wedding dresses and liked the $450 one the best. Our consultant knocked the price down to $299 to match online prices. My sister got a beautiful but simple, off the shoulder, long, white, satin wedding dress with a lace up back to hold her in. We made another appointment for us bridesmaids to try on dresses and pick out colors. We tried on 2 different styles and ordered one for $139... When my sister's dress was ready to be picked up - mine was too (only 3 weeks later!) and I noticed the dress dropped to $79. David's honored their online price and credited me the difference. This location did not have the right size shoes for my sister, but they called the Lombard location who had them, so we went over there next. Schaumburg seems much smaller than Lombard and way more packed. The 3 times we were at Schaumburg, tons and tons of women were there; brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the brides, and prom high schoolers ..plus all of the workers, yikes?? All of the associates were super helpful, on time, and kind - including the front desk. It's harder to find dresses for plus size women, so we truly appreciate that hospitality. All in all; each time was a pleasant experience. My sister is having her friend alter our dresses, so we do not need to use David's for that. But if we ever need any more dresses, I wouldn't mind going back. read more

Most RIDICULOUS bridal place I've been to. DON'T DO IT! OK I registered for dresses on Davids Bridal website that I would have liked to try on. I spent maybe a couple of hours going through that on my own. When I arrived at the store the staff was unable to pull my profile claiming that the system was down. They cannot even locate a store catalog. Instead, they told us to go browse the dresses on our own while we were waiting for the consultant. The consultant was 15 minutes late. Once we got the consultant (where we had a share with another bride to be), I was put in dresses that I had to leave on for 15 minutes before I can get out of them. Ridiculous. The store seriously lacked customer service. Like one person said, they get so many brides there you are just a number to them. I bought my dress somewhere else (Volle's Bridal in Lake Zurich) where I was treated with respect and where my consultant listened to me 100% to help me find my dream dress. read more
