First they could have a cleaner shop. In the folds of a $6000.00 wedding dress I looked at to try on there was a live cockroach in it and the sales lady tried to tell me it was a earwig I've seen both before and I know the difference between the two . She immediately whisked it away , and she nor did the manager or whoever was in charge even apologize. I definitely wouldn't be buying a dress from this shop who knows how many more dresses have cockroaches or their eggs on the dresses yuck . read more

I found out about Genevieve's through a referral from someone else who bought their dress at Genevieve's. My trip to Genevieve's was my first experience trying on dresses and I didn't appreciate just how good their service was at the time! Monika was very kind, thorough, discreet and knowledgeable. She helped me find the style that I was ultimately looking for (I had no idea what I was doing) and her selections were spot on. I chose to shop around for a few more weeks but eventually called back to order my dress! If you are early or late in your dress shopping - go to Genevieve's. They had a large selection of dresses that all felt like such great quality and the service was helpful without being obtrusive. Compared to other stores Genevieve's felt calmer and more professional. They set a very high standard that I couldn't find elsewhere. Their selection of dresses felt well maintained (some other dress shops had dresses that really needed to be retired) and classy (no buttons popping off and the dresses I tried on were are in the same size, 14, so I felt like I had a safe comparison across dresses). All of the dresses I tried on had corseting or boning to give the dress support without relying on shapewear. The price range quoted for the store was $2k-$7k but the dresses I selected were actually below $2k. read more

We came bridal dress shopping here recently, and truly got a 5 star experience from the moment we walked in. We went to a few bridal shops before our appointment and while some were nice, they did not feel as welcoming as it was here. The bride had a blast looking around, the music was upbeat. And after trying on a few dresses, we forgot about the other contenders because it was just that great. The dresses range in a decent price range, when we we went there was a sale and they had a great amount of dresses that were on sale for $300-$900. On top of that they had some fun mirrors and super cute seating areas. The staff was extremely kind, and gave us all the time we needed and more to look around, and gave suggestions and options to have the bride feel comfortable in the gown. I'm that bride who never get excited about going bridal shopping or have a wedding dress vision years in advance. I thought I would just order one online to avoid all the craziness of going to different stores & trying on different dresses. But my sister recommended for me to visit at least two bridal stores to see what style would look best for my body shape. I must say it's January, my fiance & I decided to just do an elopement style wedding when we travel to Italy for our couple anniversary. That said, I only have 5 months to make sure I get everything on time. I found genevieve's bridal on google and decided it be the first bridal store I would visit because it seem to be my kind of aesthetic place. My experience at genevieve's bridal was amazing! Booking an appointment was easy breezy. They quickly responded & advice me to visit asap due to my wedding being in 5months. Prior to my appointment, they sent me a few questions to answer online that took less than 5minutes. This let them know your budget & style of dress right away before you even step inside the store. Love that! No awkward questions were asked & just have fun trying on dresses. My appointment was last Monday right when they opened. As soon as my sister & I walked in we were greeted warmly. Walking in I legit have no clue what dress I like. I felt bad at first when I didn't picked out a dress when they told me to walk around to see if any might caught my attention. I probably just walked around the store & didn't give much effort looking through each dresses. Monica found 4 dresses that she thought I would like based on my answers. The first dress Monika picked for me to try on was on point for my elopement. It has a flowy light very soft fabric & have the option to add sleeves + slit. I thought it was the one. But I tried on the other dresses she had picked out and my gosh they just keep on getting prettier. The entire time, Monika was there to asked & listen to what I think about each of dresses. She also told me not worry if I don't have any dress idea, she will create a vision for me. I also like the fact that after she helped me out of the fitting room, she would stepped out of sight to give my sister & I privacy to talk. She also didn't mind when my sister picked a mermaid dress, even though it was a for sure a big NO for me. I tried on two mermaid dress one my sister picked out & one Monika picked. I was surprised I found myself liking them. Monika also had me try a more puffy dress with long sleeves. The last dress Monika had me tried on was the one. It literally fit my personality & give that earthy vibe. Even though the last dress was the one, Monika & my sister asked me to try on the first dress that I liked. I still love the first dress but when Monika help me put on the last dress again it was for sure the ONE. Monika tried putting 3 different type style sleeves to see which style I would like best. I probably tried on 6 or more dresses. It was not stressful. I actually had fun trying the dresses Monica & my sis had picked for me. I did not feel overwhelmed nor pressured to buying even though I told Monika I had booked another bridal appointment that week. The entire experience was above & beyond my expectations. So by exactly 12pm, how can I not say "YES" to the last dress? And "Yay! I don't have to go to another bridal shop:D" They also email the receipt because I think I forgot to grab the paper copy they gave me. For the purchasing, this was where I'm giving a minus star. There was a little miscommunication. Monica did tell me the dress will arrive in April, length will be as is so I would have to get it altered elsewhere & it will be extra charge for the sleeves fabric. But since she asking & adjusting how I want the sleeves + how I want the buttons to be- I thought it was either the designer or them who would put the sleeves & slit. Later that week, Maya not Monika sent me information regarding the price for the sleeve fabric. Only then did I found out about the little miscommunication. I thought I had ordered it as custom with slit and all that's why I went a little over my budget. But I completely understand specially since my wedding is in late June this year. Maya told me the dress will be pulled from inventory that will be ready to ship end of April. I order the size Monika recommended so I hope the size is perfect. I'm planning to go at the alteration they recommended. Specially now that not only do I need the length shorten, but also need them to do the slit & sleeves. If I had known I would have taken notes on how I wanted the sleeves or took a detail photo of it. No hard feelings though, I still appreciated how quickly they respond to any questions & the quality of service from booking to trying on dresses was wonderful. After falling in love with a Blanche Bridal wedding dress online, I came to discover that Genevieve's was one of the few bridal salons in the US to get that specific style this year. This dress was not one I ever imagined myself in, but I had to find it and see it in person. After chatting back and forth with salon owner Maya for months, I finally traveled from the West Coast to Chicago with my mom and best friend to try on the dress. We were immediately greeted by my consultant Andrea and owner Maya when arriving to the salon. Andrea is an absolute rockstar of a consultant! She pulled the dress that I was there to look at, but also helped me find a number of other dresses that were in the style I originally saw myself in. She pulled other dresses that I chose in-store, but also gave her recommendations and advice on what she thought I may like. Throughout the entire process, she was always listening to my thoughts and attentive to what I did/didn't like about the dresses that we pulled. After saying yes to the dress, we were able to take our time trying on veils and accessories before celebrating with champagne after measurements were taken. I never felt rushed or pressured during the process, and actually felt less stressed than I initially thought that I would! I cannot wait to travel back to Genevieve's for my fitting next year, and will be recommending this salon to all of my friends that are future brides! read more

I accompanied my sister-in-law to Genevieve's the week before Thanksgiving to shop for her dream wedding gown. Upon arriving, the shop was immaculate! It is beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and clean. They had hand sanitizer available immediately, and we appreciated their mask policy. Our stylist was INCREDIBLE. She was so attentive and was skilled at active listening as my sister-in-law described what she was looking for and walked with her through the racks to pull a few gowns. One by one, she tried on each gown, and described what she liked or didn't like. The bride to be was allowed to take her mask off once she got up on the pedestal, which was nice! Once the gown was fluffed, the stylist stepped back and let the bride to be talk rather than offer her own thoughts, but she was clearly listening and pulled a few different gowns as my sister-in-law's opinions changed. Once she had narrowed it down to two, she put on a veil and gave her a bouquet to hold in the top contenders. My sister-in-law ended up going with the first dress she tried on, and our consultant was so clearly so full of joy and genuine happiness for her. Amazing experience!! I was nervous to try dresses on- wasn't 100% sure what I wanted, didn't know if they'd fit, etc. But from the moment I walked in Maya did everything to make me feel comfortable at at ease. I went with my mom and bridesmaids. Before we even got to the store, there is a sign outside with my name on it. Such a fun way to start. Maya set it up so we were the only ones in there. We were offered champagne and cookies as soon as we walked in. She was very respectful of my budget and was able to pull styles that either were the same or very similar from my Pinterest board. The store is big and BEAUTIFUL! Tons of natural light, a lot of room to walk around in the dresses and see how they feel. I felt so relaxed the whole time I was in the store and am happy to say that I found my dress. I didn't feel any pressure to buy anything or to even love the dresses. Genevieve's was my first stop and I absolutely loved it! I felt so special walking up with my name on the sign, and the one-on-one attention was great. I provided my budget and was brought to the section that had all the dresses I could choose from. Once I tried on a few dresses, the girl helped listen to which parts I liked and which I didn't, and ended up bringing the perfect dress over that I ended up getting! I had no idea what features I wanted, so she really helped narrow it down for me. I went to one other shop the same day (I had an appointment and was always told you can't get the first one) but I kept going back to the dress at Genevieve's in my mind. The other place I went didn't treat me as amazing as I felt at Genevieve's, the entire experience was awesome let alone how much I loved the dress. I told the girl about the other appt but how I was 99% sure this was it, so she brought out champagne for saying yes to the dress. I was even given a 10% discount for memorial day weekend. This place is wonderful. The location is amazing and the inside of the boutique has a lot of light. This was my first place I had gone to look for dresses. Monika was super nice and helpful. Maya, the owner, was also there and super involved also. She let my mom and bridesmaid pull dresses while pulling other dresses that she thought I would like. She also let me try on two dresses multiple times because I could not decide between the two of them. She let me walk around with them, put on different veils, etc. I ended up going to another store to just see what else was out there and saying yes to my number one choice there which I had tried on at Genevieve's. Because the selection is smaller for the A-line and Ball Gown type dresses I was able to try on more at the other salon and narrow down my top choices; where at Genevieve's I only found two I liked and after trying on my number two at the other shop I completely hated it. I knew that they had a small selection at Genevieve's when I requested an appointment so I am not saying that is a problem at all because I was aware of that prior to coming. I ended up buying the dress at another store simply because it was $320 cheaper there; otherwise if they were the same price I definitely would have called Genevieve's and made my purchase since they were the ones that introduced me to that dress. The reason I am giving them a 4 star instead of a 5 is for the simple fact that they do not let you take pictures. I think its important to see yourself in picture before making a huge decision about what you are going to spend a bug chunk of money on and wear on the most important day of your life. Other salons have no problems with you taking pictures. I would like to add I talked to Maya the Monday after my appointment & she was super nice and understanding that I bought the dress somewhere else. She told me she would have price matched for me & I appreciated that. If I would have known that I would have definitely bought from Genevieve's like I said before they are awesome. read more

We went to Genevieve's today for our first of several bridal shop appts. My daughter-in-law to be generously invited me to join her and her mom. Monika greeted us at the door for our appt. They were running a trunk show sale and I found the gown of my dreams, but was hesitant to buy without important family members there. Really enjoyed my shopping experience at Genevieve's Bridal! They had written my name on a welcome sign outside the door (a good personalized touch), as well as cookies and water for the group. Francesca introduced herself to my entire party and was able to pull a good number of dresses based on the specific style I wanted. They also had dresses from recent collections that I hadn't seen in other stores with the same designers. The shop has high ceilings, tons of natural light, and you can be seen from outside the storefront while you are standing on the pedestal. The dressing room is basically a large curtain that is pulled around you while you get into the dress. You get the entire shop to yourself during the appointment, so Francesca let me walk around in each dress to get a better feel of how each one moved and looked from both close up and afar. I went with my daughter to Genevieve's yesterday and was not at all impressed with the way they handled the experience for my daughter. The very young salesperson needs to work on how she speaks to a customer coming in to make it a more positive experience. It was very unprofessional. She needs a few lessons in communication in a sensitive nature. They only had dresses in small sizes which makes it an unpleasant experience for someone that wears over a size 12. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. They are a fairly new business and really need to gain some experience on how to treat customers and not assume everyone is petite. read more

They did a great job helping us pick dresses that I would like, we had the whole store to ourselves, didn't feel rushed, and felt very tended to. Both the owner and her associate were super sweet.
