If I could post less than one star I would. From start to finish we had an absolutely awful experience with a bridesmaid dress at the Slidell store. The salesperson ordered the wrong dress, then they committed to cover alterations since the correct dress was only available in a size larger than needed. Once the dress arrived they backed out of that and tried to charge more for the alterations than the cost of the dress. Please do not waste your time or money here! read more

Highly don't recommend this place. Came here for a bridesmaid dress was measured and everything. I am usually a 8/10 i understand some dresses run big or small whatever that's fine but they insisted I order a 12-14 of coarse do what they recommended and the dress does not fit one bit. Considering it took 2 months for the dress to come in and the wedding is in 2 months now i asked if they would keep this dress until a smaller one comes in nope goes up for sale. Then they want you to spend $200 for alterations with them when the dress wasn't even $200. All around just horrible experience!! read more

I said no to the dress, because there was no one available to check me out. I came back to this store because my last visit was quick and pleasant. This time was the exact opposite. We entered the store, two women were sitting at the table, didn't say hello, nor asked if they could help me. I knew what I was looking for, so I got it and looked at a few more items. A young lady in passing ( I didn't get her name but she had dreads), had enough common sense to ask if I needed help, and I told her I was fine. If I knew checking out would be a problem, I would have held on to her. I stood at the counter for about 10 minutes or more, no one came, I walked back to the table no one was there. I saw a lady in the isle and asked for help and she sent me back to the table in the front. At that point, I decided, I no longer wanted the items, so I placed it on the rack and proceeded to the door. The consultant said, that she couldn't help because she was tending to a bridal party. I told her that was perfectly fine and I will leave her to tend to her bridal party. Then she tells me that she was available to ring me up. When I asked how was she all of a sudden available, when she wasn't a few minutes ago, she had no answer. Then she called for someone else to come help. Where was this willingness to assist in the beginning? Because just 5 minutes ago, she sent me to the front table to find my own help. My suggestion is to have someone keep an eye on the register, in case someone has a quick purchase. I'm not really sure what the hell happens to women when they are getting married but a lot of them sort of lose it and go crazy. It must be that whole fairytale complex starting at the age of 2 or so for girls being fed Disney's version of weddings and Prince Charming. David's Bridal takes advantage of this and charges an insane amount of money for a wedding dress and an insane amount of money for a bridesmaids dress. I've been on the unfortunate end of having to purchase a few bridesmaids dresses (and a couple of flower girl dresses) from them and it was never pleasant. First of all, they only carry dresses for the "average" woman in terms of height. I'm 5'2. I suppose that's not average. I need to always get their dresses altered, which is an additional and unwelcome expense. Secondly, they are always really snooty here. And let's not forget the insane prices. Please ladies, shop local for your wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses. Or better yet, elope. It'll be so much less stressful. And cheaper. read more

I was not impressed with the service at this specific David's Bridal. I have had to purchase bridesmaids dresses at my local David's Bridal and this was one of the more "meh" experiences. The girl that greeted us started out fine, but she either lacked experience or wasn't listening to what the bride wanted (or both.) We needed bridesmaids dresses and a mother of the bride dress. My cousin (the maid of honor) tried on a few dresses the girl picked out... Blech. The girl wandered off, mind you this was a Thursday afternoon at 3pm and there was one other customer in the store. The bridesmaids dresses were worn out, stretched out and stained. So as the girl wandered off, I proceeded to pick out a few dresses for my cousin to try on. Then the mother of the bride tried on a couple dresses. She found one she loved, but they didn't have her correct size, the girl wandered back trying to talk her in to buying the stretched out dress and just having it altered. (Are you out of your mind?!?) I suggested that since they didn't have her correct size that she order it online or at her local store. The girl got annoyed with me (ha!) Meanwhile, since the bride had a long dress, the mother of the bride had a long dress, I showed the bride long bridesmaids dresses. She fell in love. (I also found the clips since most of the dresses didn't come in size 16 or 18, but in 22 or 24). My cousin ordered her dress. It will take 6 weeks. I was not impressed with the girl or the selection of floor models for bridesmaids dresses. read more

I've been to this David's bridal multiple times for bridal/bridesmaids dress shopping. The first time was for my friends wedding. I was the MOH, and we went to David's bridal to narrow down the style she was interested in for the wedding. We went back the next week with the rest of the bridesmaids and chose the dress for the wedding. Our consultant, I believe her name is Catherine, was so helpful and patient with over 8 ladies/women laughing and goofing off. The only draw back to David's Bridal is they don't let you put down a deposit. The only way to do that is if you get a credit card. Wasn't expecting that the first time. Just recently went there for my bridal gown and had a great experience with my consultant. She was so helpful, very professional, non pushy, and knew her stuff! She knew which dresses I would like and wouldn't like based off of stuff I had tried and she was 100% right. She told me to try on a dress that I wasn't even interested in and I ended up falling in love with it. I had a budget for just my dress, and my dress, and veil were way under budget! Whoever says this place is expensive is INSANE! Please tell me where I can buy a dress and veil for under $2000. No where. Unless it's bridal consignment shop or something. Lol. And most bridal places come in dresses for an average height women of 5'5" wearing a 3 inch heal. It's not just David's bridal. It's the standard height everywhere. read more

Sold my fiancé an altered dress and swore that it was impossible that it was altered. Seamstress opened up the dress and told us there were hand stitches different with different colored thread and lots of uneven stitching. David's bridal denied it and basically said the sale was final. Remember you get what you pay for. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I purchased my dress and when it came in I came in for alterations. I wanted sleeves and fitted, plus the 5 layers cut and hemmed...which took a couple of hours for her to pin. When I went to try my dress on the appointed date and time....my dress hadn't been touched. The manager gave me my money back for alterations and promised the dress would be ready in 1 week...then said one to two tops and was moving me to the front of the line and giving it to one of his best seamstress. So the day of the 2 weeks and I came in to get my dress. They had not even cut three layers, the hem was uneven and very poorly done, the sleeves were unbelievably unprofessionally done...they sewed over the front of my white dress WITH PINK THREAD. The sleeves..they took existing long pieces and looped them on one sleeve and didn't sew them evenly. I had to take my dress with only 1 week to go and hire someone to fix it. I had also left a dress purchased elsewhere and had them fix the front to lay flat and appropriately cover my chest...they sewed a part bunched up. Never would I want you to go through the same sort of experience. When I took my dress to the seamstress to fix my dress, she said this isn't the one in Slidell is it? I said yes. She said she just had to fix another dress where they hemmed unevenly and too big. This isn't a one time problem. When I come contacted corporate they said they would have the store give me my $10 back for the blue dress they messed up. But nothing else was offered or done. read more

It's hard dealing with these people. I've been here for several bridesmaid dresses and it's always a bad experience. My last dress I had to order and I was told I would get a phone call when it arrived. I wasn't worried about the dress arriving any time soon but about a month before the estimated arrival date I received an email saying if I didn't pick up my dress it was going to be sent back. When I called the girl told me, "Yeah it has been here 3 weeks. It looks like we never got around to calling you but don't worry before we actually send it back we would try and call you." This was the worst experience for my daughter and myself. My daughter is getting married September 14th 2016 this is the first place we went to look for dresses, she tried on about five then our attendant tells us we have 15 minutes left for our appointment that's right they only give you an hour and a half to look for a dress that is crazy, then we take the bridesmaids back to look for their dresses and they give you an hour, then they tell my daughter her dress will be in in April 2016 it showed up two weeks after her appointment and she was forced to pick it up within a week, and I live out of state , so she was forced to go back and get her dress without her mother being present. this is the worst place I have ever shoped at and will never ever go back good luck if you shop at this store. read more

you guys- my experience with Davids Bridal was great, i found my gown during my first appointment and the staff was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. BUT i feel inclined to warn anyone who is thinking about purchasing the gown preservation kit,- PLEASE DONT DO IT. I sent my gown in July 23rd 2015- it is now September 23. i called davids bridal a few weeks ago to see what was going on with it and i was told to give it two more weeks and then if i still hadn't received it I was directed to call the company that cleans the dresses ( Davids Bridal does not clean them- they outsource it to a company in Houston). I finally got in touch with that company today, and my dress is GONE. They say when my box that contained my dress arrived, it was extremely damaged, and empty. Being that all the contact info is located on a slip on the inside of the box with the dress, no one could contact me to notify me of this problem. They had my name from the shipping label, and contacted Davids Bridal. They were told that Davids Bridal could not look up my information ( which i find hard to believe). So here i am, devastated, without my gown. I am in this horrible process of filing claims with UPS and the cleaning company and it is just horrible- its turning out to be a dead end and no one is willing to help me through this.. If i could do it all over again i would NEVER have sent my dress to anyone. I would only trust to physically walk my dress into a dry cleaning company and personally hand it to them and physically go pick it back up. I will never get back this most sentimental item, my daughter will never have the chance to wear her mother's dress, and overall this is just extremely sad. I urge anyone and everyone to think twice about sticking such an important item in the mail, i definitely wish that i had. :( read more

I would have given this store a full star rating, but the one dress I wanted for my bridesmaids to try on, were only available ONLINE! That is absurd, specially when I have bridesmaids with such different weights, and body types. I was upset, and frustrated by this, HOWEVER, Isabella was FANTASTIC! She was super nice, friendly, listened to all we wanted, or liked, and even helped me get every single dress on and off. After she asked me my measurements, brought undergarments as well, as I didn't even think about these! She was training a new girl, who was also quite sweet, (I think her name was Lotoya). Having just left the Metairie location and having a mini-breakdown in their parking lot, I was not expecting much when my mom said "Those awful women will not ruin this day! We are going to Slidell." (There's a long ass review for the Metairie store, too. Read it. I'm funny.) We got there at around 3:30 on Valentine's Day. I immediately apologized to the three women at the welcome desk for not having an appointment. One of them jokingly said "No appointment?! Get out!" I'm not going to lie. Witty sarcasm goes a long way with me. They were all immediately laughing and joking. They were all professionally dressed and very friendly. I explained my previous bad experience and they apologized. They began searching their computer for the dress I was looking for and said they didn't have it but they could order it. Before I do that, they insisted I try on something similar to get an idea of my size. Jessica, the impossibly nice associate, and I find one we think is similar and I try to on. It fits. It looks beautiful. They even agreed to an exchange if I order the dress and it doesn't fit. THIS is how wedding dress shopping should be. I can't wait to get my dress in and try it on. I will never go here again. First I showed up to my appointment, with my mom and MOH. My "consultant" wouldn't let me look at any of the wedding dresses, instead she handed me a book with what she said was all of them but I saw several dresses on the manquiens that weren't in this book. I found a few dresses I wanted to try and told her my dress size and my budget which was $1000. I was very clear about what I wanted: mermaid, sweetheart neckline, no lace, no satin. Also she made a point to tell me that my figure wouldn't look good in a mermaid dress, I told her that I had already tried on mermaid dresses and I do look good. She comes back with NONE of the dresses I told her that I liked, instead she has in her hands 4 head-to-toe lace a- line dresses and 1 satin a-line dress. Not to mention all of these dresses were at least 4 dress sizes too small, I was appalled. I couldn't try any of them on, nor did I even want too, they were all ugly. I gave her back the dresses and she comes back with 3 more a-line lace dresses, which I told her absolutely not, the dresses didn't even enter the dressing room. As I was about to leave, I see a pretty dress on a manequin and asked her if I could try it on, she digustedly looked at me and said "That's a Vera Wang". To which I said "I don't care what it is I want to try it on" so with an eye roll so let's me try it on. Mind you she doesn't help with any of the zippers or anything, my MOH had to do everything. I cry whenever I get too mad so, I finally left in tears. read more

I previously had an appointment in Montgomery, AL and was disappointed. The lady that was assigned to me was no help at all. My bridesmaids and I literally just conducted our own appt. My other bridesmaids and my mom live in Slidell, so I made an appt for them. This time, I was highly satisfied. Shaywna was wonderful !! She was proactive and extremely helpful. She encouraged my mom to try on Mother of the Bride dresses and she even squeezed in time for me to try on Bridal gowns. She was friendly, energetic, and helpful. I want a deal, yet I want the right dress! I can't believe the amount of money dresses cost! I went to many bridal shops and consigment shops from New Orleans, to Metairie, to Biloxi, to Covington and ended up getting my dress from the town I live in, Slidell's David's Bridal. I got my dress from David's bridal and tried on the same dress at another bridal shop that had a ticket price for 300.00 more than David's bridal price. The other shop that had the same dress could only come down 150.00 dollars lower than the ticket price. So I ended up paying 200.00 less at David's Bridal (with tax) for the same dress. Emily was great to work with and the store Manager is a very pleasant lady also. In my opinion the only con about David's Bridals is the appointment policy, but they did let me come in right away. One other thing that stood out to me about David's Bridal is the opition of getting a new Bridal gown at a very low price. read more

I went through David's Bridal for my wedding and I must say that on my end everything was ok. The dress amazing, the shoes and veil had to be returned because they sent me worn and torn items, as if both were display items. My Maid of Honor was the most distraught. She was informed that her dress wouldn't be in in time for her size (only to find out the website had it and for cheaper but the store not gonna tell you that) so she purchased another size and they promised in alterations that it would be right. Well, it wasn't, her dress kept falling through the wedding and the only thing the Slidell, LA store Manager can say was "well if it stayed up during the fitting we can't do anything about that" Really? 10 mins compared to over 4 hours. This location needs to do better and I advise anyone if they tell you they don't have your size or it will take to long go online cause you can get it much faster and most of the time at a better price. read more
