We were immediately greeted at the front door by 3 smiling women ( you can see their eyes squint) due to the damn masks. Store was big and had every dress we wanted to try. exceptionally clean also!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANY WEDDING RELATED VENTURES. David's Bridal likes to advertise this fairytale experience in commercials and online, but that is definitely not what you'll receive. My sister made an appointment for us bridesmaids to get our dresses. When we walked in, we were barely greeted. Instead of being given a room or large area for our large party, we were given 2 dressing stalls in a corner. Our associate did not explain to us how the process worked (picking/buying the dress, alterations, etc.) and we had to continuously ask questions to get these answers. We were left alone for a majority of our time there. When we wanted to find new dresses, there was no assistance given. The measurements for two people in the party had to be redone since they were not correct the first time. In terms of buying dresses, you can have the dresses either sent to the store or to your home address. The latter was not a convenient option for us since we needed alterations (price not included in total dress price). Also, you cannot have the dress shipped to a different David's Bridal, which makes zero sense to me. We were also told that we only have 7 days to pick up the dress from the day we receive an email saying it's ready for pick up. Unbelievable. read more

I bought a dress online that I absolutely love. However, it was too small. I took it to this store during my lunch break to see what options I have about returning. It turns out they do not take online returns, which is stupid but definitely not the location's fault. They didn't have that dress at all - I guess they're done making it. Shantez helped me find a few more dresses. She pulled some she thought I might like and I tried them on but none of them were close to the original. She could tell in my face that I wasn't happy. She grabbed my original dress and told me to put it on. She called in alterations and they said it's going to be no problem to take it out a bit. I am so extremely happy. She was so kind and caring, even without getting a sale. I walked in without an appointment or anything and they all tried to make things better for me. It worked! I am very grateful. The lady at the front desk was also ultra-kind, I wish I had gotten her name. Please don't let a few reviews steer you clear of this store. read more

I came to David's to look at wedding gowns on a Wednesday morning with an early appointment. The store was not crowded at all and my mother & I felt very welcome. Carla worked with us and she was absolutely wonderful. She brought me many dresses to try and helped put me at ease- I am not one of those girls who has always dreamed about getting married/finding the right dress so it was a bit stressful for me. I was not incredibly impressed with the selection at David's. However, Carla did find an absolutely beautiful dress that I liked very much and was so accommodating & helpful. She was fine with letting my mother take a million pictures of me from different angles and found a very cute veil that went with the dress. Since this was the first dress shop I visited I wanted to visit a few more before making my final decision. I ended up finding the dress of my dreams elsewhere but I wanted to leave a review because of the wonderful experience I had with Carla and at David's Bridal in general. When we cancelled our second appointment with Carla they were so courteous and left very kind messages for both me and my mother. Carla personally called me to congratulate me on finding the perfect dress and I was so pleased with our experience. She was very sweet! Thank you again- great store. read more

Loussa was fantastic at helping my girlfriend pick a dress for her bridal party! I was very impressed how patient she was every step of the way. She offered suggestions, colors and everything showed us dresses that we didn't think of that would also look nice. Not once did we fee rushed even though the store was packed on the Saturday. She was handling multiple customers and gave us so much attention. It really felt like a catered service. We must have been there for about 2 hours and her energy did not let down. In my opinion the best stylist at that store that cares about the customers! Give this women a promotion! read more

I'd never recommend this location. The staff is horrible. My mom is getting married so we went in to try on 3 different dresses & the associate we had had to be off. She was clueless and kept insinuating rude thing. She told my moms friend that the dress she was wearing looked better on someone youthful. She assumed my mom left the store with a dress, she was plain old dumb. That was Ariana and then there was another lady named Armanda who had a nasty attitude with my moms friend because she wanted to use the dress we had. Very snappy and lots of attitude. I would much rather go to another location when the time comes. These women have no business working with customers. read more

During an unpredictable time, I highly wouldn't recommend David's Bridal, especially the Watchung, NJ location. My wedding was postponed as it was during the window when all of NJ shut down (aka 100% out of my control). DB had 0 support or empathy in having the need to return the dress due to the pandemic. We have no idea how long Covid will continue to ruin weddings or when the US will lock down again. Highly recommend all brides to avoid the risk with DB, it's not worth it. Other stores or boutiques understand there is a pandemic going on. When you have enough stress going on by navigating this uncertain time, last thing you need is to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress you cannot return. read more

Went to David's Bridal in Watchung, NJ with my daughter. Our experience couldn't have been better! The store is set up nicely with room to browse. We were greeted warmly as we entered, she explained the layout of the dresses, and said our consultant would be with us shortly. Jake, our consultant, was outstanding! He was personable, knew what questions to ask, and helped my daughter narrow down her choices. He was so knowledgeable about the inventory, how different styles fit her, and what accessories would enhance the overall look. Are zero stars an option? We went to the Springfield location with 4 of our 5 bridesmaids. Told our stylist the color option and were told to pick out dresses. She didn't help with finding styles or sizes and kept disappearing. After choices were made we we're told to order on line for the 3 bridesmaids who lived out of state. Well it's a good thing no one ordered because 3 of the dresses didn't come in our color! We went to the Totowa location where our sales associate Woodline was much more helpful and accommodating. This location needs a training on customer service! Almost every employee we encountered today was rude and unpleasant. Considering a wedding is a happy time in one's life, you would expect to be greater pleasantly at least. The three at the desk by the front door should be moved, I literally wanted to walk out. The parking is also pretty terrible, we could not even park in the lot. It was busy but not that busy.... That said, the woman who does the tailoring was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone else, not so much. My advice? Go somewhere else or try a different location. read more

What a ZOO!! Stopped in on a rainy Sunday while still hyped in wedding mode from a bridal show earlier in the afternoon. My best friend and I decided to pop in just to get some color and style ideas for the bridesmaids thinking it would probably be quiet. We walked in to find a harried front desk consultant asking over and over who we were picking up a dress for. We said that we were just looking a good three or four times before she realized we weren't actually a part of a registered wedding. She said that we wouldn't need a consultant then and to just browse around. The dresses on the racks did not appear to be in any particular order and the color charts on the walls did not look anything like what they actually had in stock. Close, but no cigar. We had a tough time trying to find a dress to even hold up to my maid of honor because everything hung was a size 20+ which just made things all the more difficult and frustrating. We then decided to meander over to the bridal area just to take a peek. We were very quickly yelled at for being amongst the wedding gowns without an escort. I can understand their concern over clumsy customers tripping over the garment bags and potentially suing the company, but if you're so worried then why weren't there more attendants on the floor to have even stopped us from entering the "forbidden zone"? This was the first dress shopping experience for us in this long process, and unfortunately we didn't get off on a good foot. Hoping the rest won't be such a chaotic mess! read more

Let me start off by saying that I am definitely not a girly girl. Makeup and hair don't excite me and I haven't been planning my 'dream wedding' since I was five. With that said, I was absolutely dreading dress shopping. I'm a plus-sized woman and I had visions of myself swaddled in white taffeta, looking like an abominable snow beast. My first shopping appointment was with Alyssa. She was super sweet and helpful, as well as sympathetic to my concerns. I'd perused David's Bridal's dresses online and I really only had one that I felt I wanted to try. It turns out, however, that this store only carried that dress in sizes 2, 4, 6, and 8. I was given the not-so-helpful suggestion that perhaps I should try on the size 8, just to get a feel for the dress. When I declined, they told me that they could have my size shipped to the store, but in order to do that, I'd have to purchase it first. When I asked about their return policy, I discovered that they don't have one. If you want to return something, you can only receive store credit, not a refund. Obviously, I wasn't about to purchase a $1,300 gown just so I could try it on. Alyssa did hear me out, though, and brought me another dress that she felt was very similar. I first tried on one my mom picked, then I tried Alyssa's dress. I really, really thought the dress was beautiful, but I wasn't sure about how it looked on me. It was strapless and I wanted something with straps. Furthermore, I wanted something with a corset back, since I'd been losing weight and planned to continue to do so. Alyssa brought out several mock straps and a mock corset back for me to try on with the dress. She even brought in a seamstress who assured me that they could put straps and a corset back on any dress in the store. Both Alyssa and the seamstress advised that if I wanted the corset, I should order my dress a size smaller than I actually needed. My fears abated, I purchased the dress. I was told that it would take something like 6-8 weeks for delivery, but I believe it arrived in less than a month. ... And had that been the end of the story, this would have been a four-star review. However, I had no idea that this was, of course, only the beginning. I just had my first fitting a few days ago and when I called that morning to confirm the time, they told me that they didn't have me scheduled at all. However, they were able to give me an appointment that afternoon, so I didn't make a big deal about it. At my fitting appointment, imagine my surprise when the seamstress (a different one) told me that if I wanted a corset on this dress, she'd have to remove all the beadwork in the back (and there was quite a bit of it). She went on to add that even if I were okay with sacrificing the beautiful beading, they didn't carry any matching fabric, so the corset wouldn't be the same color (ivory) as the rest of the gown. So now, I have a gown that is too tight, without the back that I want - and I have to pay quite a bit to have it let out, since there's not enough time to reorder the right size. After taking a few deep breaths to reassure myself that everything was okay, I brought up the straps. Yet again, the seamstress looked at me like I grew another head. Cue the sinking feeling in my stomach again. She brought out these thin, ivory straps that didn't match my dress, then began arranging them to create a halter. I told her that I didn't want a halter, that I wanted wide, gathered straps. That's when she told me that the only straps they have are half an inch wide and that the most she can do is sew two together. Oh, and they'd be with that same ivory as the corset back, which doesn't match my dress at all. So now, I'm left with a strapless dress that may or may not stay up all day/evening and that definitely will offend my new in-laws (who have made it quite clear on more than one occasion that strapless dresses are a huge no-no in their family). The last thing I discussed with the seamstress was the bustle. I told her that I have yet to see a bustle that lasted all night and that I was concerned about mine coming undone. She seemed to take this to heart, because she spent quite a while creating a beautiful bustle that simply blended in with the rest of my dress, rather than looking like a huge bump of extra fabric. In all, there are nine ties, but it really does look gorgeous. So, while the seamstress did come through with a gorgeous bustle, I still feel overwhelmingly like I've been duped. I feel like the salespeople and the first seamstress told me whatever I needed to hear, just so they could make a sale. I feel helpless because I can't return this dress that doesn't fit my needs. And worst of all, I feel that while the dress itself is beautiful, I don't feel beautiful when I wear it. read more

Although my wedding is scheduled over a year in advance, I wanted to try on some gowns to see what fit I would look the least horrible in. I'm not from the area, but considering that I had to be in the neighborhood and had a huge gap of free time in my day, I thought, "What the heck - let's do this!" (with my saddest game face on). I was promptly and courteously greeted by a man at the reception desk who found me a same day appointment. I had to stroll around town (coughshopcough) for a few hours but grateful that they were able to schedule me in so quickly. I liked that the client information sheets were not overwhelmingly tedious or intrusive. Within minutes of arriving for my appointment I was greeted by a sweet rep named Vivian. She gently asked if I brought any pictures and allowed me to browse through the entire selection they had. I liked that she was so open to my style and made me feel good about choosing several different dresses immediately. Once in the changing room, she turned into an angel of fitting and got me in and out of the dresses with so much finesse. She even pulled out a fit I thought I would never wear or look good in - and BAM, it was the most flattering one I tried on! Despite that it was my first time trying on dresses and didn't find "the one", I had so much fun and felt so comfortable there with Vivian's help and guidance. I would highly recommend any bride to stop in here for a stress-free fitting and to seek out Vivian to assist you. read more

When I first walked in it was reeeally crowded. I waited about 5 mins for someone to ask me if I needed help. She quickly got me the dress and put me in a fitting room. When I came out she was gone for 5minutes...then she came back and told me if it fit fine I could just go to the front and pay. I waited online for another 5-10 minutes or so and checked out. Everyone seemed nice. It was a fine Experience but then again I'm just a bridesmaid and the bride already had everything in the system. The outside of the building needed some work. This is my second visit to David's bridal. I went to the one on 25th in manhattan in the first time, which was awful. It made me feel like I am never going to find "the one". But I was in a rush to get a dress so I schedule a meeting again, but definitely changing the location. So I came to this one. I am glad I didn't read the review before I go, other wise it will probably scare me. The total experience is very nice. Cheyenne Davis was my consultant, she is very very helpful, especially comparing to the one in my first visit. She is nice and warm, and she helped me find "the one"! I am extremely excited and happy about it. So I ringed the bell. Another consultant, Tanani, she was not my consultant, but she gave me a lot of help too, which made my experience really enjoyable. I wasn't pushed at anything, and the store wasn't crowded. So definitely a five star. read more

I went to this location at 3:30pm (5/6/18). I signed up for special occasion since I was looking only for a reception dress (which was probably my mistake add to the mistake of going to this location). When I got there the receptionist was on the phone, I was waiting for her to look up at me and at least acknowledge my presence but she did not. Another lady was talking to her as well and finally, after at least 5 mins of patiently waiting, that other lady asked me if I needed help. I said I have an appointment and I was looking for one particular dress. Her and another person looked at the racks and told me they do not have the Melissa Sweet (MS251101) dress I was looking for. The person they assigned to me was already helping someone else. She kept telling me she doesn't do bride consultation and there's nobody else to help me. So basically, she's doing me a favor and she's not happy about it. She left me at a section in the wedding gowns area and didn't come back for me after 20 mins, when I showed her my selection she said it wasn't available in my size, made a face and said, "I don't think you want to try it." Talk about being encouraging! At that point, I was thinking she doesn't want to help me and this was a waste of my time, I said never mind and I've never seen anyone leave so fast. It is very disappointing. Would not recommend this location! I should have learned by now, I came here 10 years ago for a bridesmaid's dress and the service wasn't good then. read more

This place is utterly ridiculous. Four bridesmaids' dresses and two of them were not measured correctly, so the dresses couldn't zip! $125 for alterations is more than the dress itself!! The 'professionals' who work there do not take any responsibility by saying the warehouse is separate from the store and we can't give you a discount on the alterations because they are separate from us too (even though they are right in the store) unbelievable. The wedding is in a month. I would not advise my worst enemy to shop here. RUN! Run far away from this place. Unfortunately, calling Pat is not going to get the dress (it's the bridesmaid's third dress because of the repeated inability for the staff to measure her correctly) in any quicker than a week before the wedding (wedding is Sept 5...dress is scheduled in August 26), nor will it make the dress fit correctly, or assuage all the stress of dealing with David's Bridal in the first place. read more

And she was a god sent. She allowed us to try on however many dresses i wanted to. And allowed us to soak in the dress in privacy. Loved my experience and said yes to the dress! Worst part of all my consultant didn't help me fit the gowns on my older sister did everything !! And one thing I hated was that right from the start you get thrown a credit card application I honestly think that something like that should be given towards the end of an appointment if a bride seems torn between having to pay a dress right away ! The host/appt taker was rude and had an attitude.They wanted to wait for the bride to arrive even though she wasn't purchasing a dress from there. I tried getting a fitting room and it took forever. Last minute I needed to purchase a dress for a black tie wedding. MARGUERITE went above and beyond to help me find my dream dress. She listened to all my concerns, was honest, helped me branch out of my comfort zone and made me feel as if I was the most beautiful woman in the room. I went with my sister about a week ago. I was fully prepared with dresses I wanted to try on and was a bit disappointed that most of the dresses that I had wanted to take a look at were not in store. I was paired with Tomyka (I believe that was her name) and she was great. She picked a gown that was so flattering and was exactly what I was looking for minus the material. I didnt purchase the dress on the spot, I have weight loss goals that I want to accomplish first and to do multiple alterations will be out of my budget which is already tight. I will be back to this store, but hopefully more options are available. A side note, there were alot of children in the store, one younger girl was sitting in the area that we were trying dresses on and she was very close to my belongings and over all made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Tomyka made all efforts to make sure the children behaved however it was a bit distracting from the overall experience. read more

I am truly disappointed in the experience I had last night at this store. My future sister-in-law wanted to look for a wedding dress and we were not aware that we needed an appointment just to browse. Upon entering the store, we weren't greeted with a 'Good evening' or 'Hello, welcome to David's Bridal!' We were greeted with, 'Do you have an appointment?' Upon learning that we did not have an appointment, they then proceeded to tell us that we weren't even allowed to LOOK at the wedding dresses, we were only permitted to browse the bridesmaids section. Additionally, when we found a dress that she wanted to try on, we were told 'No,' because they had a cleaning crew coming at 9pm and everyone had to be out of the store by 5 minutes to 9. If your store hours indicate that the store closes at 9, then that should be when it closes, not 5 minutes prior. More than that, to tell a customer that she couldn't even try on a dress is absolutely ridiculous and horrible customer service. If a paying customer wants to shop for a dress, she/he should be able to do so on their own accord and without a hovering "stylist" following you around. I understand that you want to make a sale but they took a meaningful experience and crushed it with their condescending and inclusive attitude. When a store manager/owner puts the enforcement of their policy ahead of the experience and service of their customers, it's time to reevaluate your priorities. This is just the beginning of where I will be leaving my experience. I intend to leave a negative review on every applicable social media outlet so that as many people as possible know that this store is truly terrible and the manager/owner should be fired. I'm quite aware that someone will try to comment on this explaining their 'policy' and how we misunderstood and quite honestly, don't waste your time. I am not concerned with your attempt to make yourself look better because myself, my sister-in-law, and plenty of other people know the truth. If the majority of reviews are negative, it's time to revamp and reboot how you run your business. A major attitude and customer service overhaul is much needed. read more
