I was so put off the first time here but being a plus size bride this offers lots of options in sample sizes you can take with you that day. Miss Renata this is a love letter to you from my mom & I...My puerto rico wedding is going to be amazing in the dress that you ahem! chose for me first like a dress whisperer. She was amazing even when working with 3 of us at the same time, joking around pulling dresses I never for one moment felt abandoned. My chief complaint is that pain in the arse manager her name sound like Tajani or something like that. She was obnoxious & instead of helping she stood there making comments that I guess in her head were funny but I found them off putting & rude to Miss Renata. Leave her alone & let her work her magic or instead of standing there with your arms crossed & that stupid look on your face, lace a gown for someone. I picked one dress & rang the bell but upon returning to my dressing room I chose the other one of my last 2 favorites ohh! Tajani was not having it in a very annoyed tone she commented about how I had already rung the bell & I was now changing my mind. Yes I can do that especially since I went from a $500 gown to a $1k one...honestly you are not a good manager your presence at my appointment was more an annoyance than a help. I use to work in this location and I made some good friends there. So when it was my turn to get married I decided to go in and get my dress from that location. Luckily...or so thought... I got one of my friends from that location as my consultant! So we tried on dresses and she said I looked "amazing" in this dress I really loved, while I was changing into a different dress she apparently told my mother "she looks awful in that dress do NOT let her get that" My mom eventually showed my FI my dress (he came with is but stayed away from the dressing rooms) so that dress was out.... then my mother told me the truth about what the consultant said. I thought that was really rude of her so we went to the Wayne location a few weeks later instead. I called the Springfield location to get my paperwork and find out which dresses for the BM's the consultant put down on my paperwork.... apparently she didn't put down anything. Vivian in the Springfield location- I am really shocked by your actions- I will never go to that location ever again for anything! Go to Wayne or Paramus, much better help there! read more

Just a heads up for potential shoppers that are thinking of going here. I went in there to browse for a dress for a special occasion. The staff that greeted me were very friendly. They allowed me just to browse on my own (which is what I wanted). While browsing, a woman who I later find out who is the manager of the store (Pat) was talking to another co-worker. She was complaining about customers who say they will loose weight to get into a smaller size and want the smaller size ordered. She stated, if they're fat now, they will be fat then. And that they need to realized that. I heard enough come out of her mouth, so I left and would never give a place my business who has a woman that is so disrespectful work for them, especially in a managerial position. read more

I purchased my wedding gown here and the woman who originally helped me was extremely nice and helpful. The extremely nice and helpfulness began and ended with her. Every other experience was just not met with friendliness or professionalism. Now as it turns out, I will not actually be getting married and I called to cancel my alterations appointment. Out of curiosity, i asked what do people usually do in this situation (because OBVIOUSLY i have never been in it before)? I understood they weren't going to take the dress back, but just from a woman-to-woman standpoint, do you have any recommendations? I was asked to hold for the manager who refused to get on the phone with me because, "ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!" She was so worried about throwing that in my face (A fact I was well aware of, and i wasn't even trying to pose that question) that she missed the entire point and further made me feel like complete garbage at a time in my life where I am already in pieces. They listened to what style i wanted and helped me without being pushy. I was in and out in less than an hr ( i hate wasting time in a store) I'm really picky so I knew if i didn't like what I saw, I would just try elsewhere, but they listened to what I wanted and took care of me! This review is 3 years late, but I just found the card so I figured I would write one. I heard horror stories about David's Bridal, but I was on a budget that I wanted to stick to and David's has great prices. Hilda was my consultant, and she was amazing! I was with my mom and best friend and I had no idea what I wanted. Hilda showed us the racks where I could find my size, and let us pick dresses we liked. She gave her opinion about the dresses when asked, and gave support to my mom who was a mess (only daughter getting married!). We all fell in love with the first dress I tried on, but I tried on a few more just to be sure. Hilda didn't rush us, and was happy to help me back into the 1st dress one more time so I could make my decision. I didn't have a car at the time I needed to have my dress fitted, so I went to a local seamstress for the fitting. read more

My friend Angelica is getting married June 4 and I'm her partner in crime along side with her mother. We decided to wing it and check out this David's Bridal location after leaving Jersey Gardens Mall and boy are we happy we did! Making an appointment was a breeze and when we got there 30 min early , we wanted to show respect for their time, they wasted no time in taking us and having us assigned to Ms.Allana Lamb-Tatum. She was so kindly to ask what type of dress and if she had any pictures to go off by. She was very upfront in suggesting on building the dress she wanted. She took her in the direction of getting a simple silhouette and adding simple enhancements, like beaded straps and a beaded belt and just like that my best friends dress was right before her eyes! She definitely has great listening skills and an eye for creativity with the suggestions given to her! And best part is that she allowed the bride to have plenty of wiggle room for these enhancements. End result we just booked for alterations and we can't wait to see this fitted and created just for her! That moment is just an honor to be part of ! And the picture of her with the sign that she said yes to the dress and ringing of bell is just pure bliss for a bride so thankyou Allana for that! read more

I have been to this location several times in the past few years for weddings. My previous experiences were always somewhat mediocre. I even thought to myself when my day came to look for a wedding gown I wouldn't go there. Well my wedding was last week and after scouring through 6 other stores the weekend before my wedding I ended up at David's Bridal in Springfield. I was a walk in and to be honest was not expecting any sort of special treatment. When I arrived they did tell me if I wanted to try on wedding gowns I would need and appointment to work with a consultant. I agreed and as I scanned the non bridal section for a simple dress they informed me that they had a cancellation and could place me with a consultant earlier than expected. I immediately let the consultant know that I had serious price limitations (200 or less) and needed to find a dress that day (7 months pregnant and wedding was in 1 week). The consultant immediately brought me several options under my budget and treated myself and my mother very nicely. The dress that I ended up with exceeded my expectations and really helped make my quick courthouse wedding feel more like the special event that I wanted. One of the worst phone customer service experiences I have ever had. I called to see if they had a dress in store. I was transferred 3 times (within the same store), and every person I talked to was rude, unhelpful and simply did not have proper phone etiquette. In what should be a positive experience for an excited bride-to-be, I was disappointed by their poor and impolite service. I came to the Springfield location about 3 weeks ago. I live in Phoenix, AZ and I came with 2 of my bridesmaids so they could get their dresses. The lady wasn't very helpful at all. My bridesmaids didn't get to see my wedding dress on me, they asked the lady if they could see me in and she responded very rudely with "No, she already went through this process, she knows how it is!" Meanwhile the place I got my dress at here in Phoenix has been accommodating with anything I needed. It upset me a bit that they would treat me like that. read more

Not impressive, even if you're on a budget. My second time here (my wedding in 2011 and now for my best friend's) and it hasn't gotten better. Not enough time or room for details but the staff are pushy, often rude or sloppy looking and take no pride in their work. I understand its a "budget bridal" store, they deal with countless cheap and obnoxious brides but they shouldn't treat everyone who comes in as if they already could care less. The store itself is messy, crowded, outdated and filthy. Plaster chipping, stains in carpet and dressing rooms and curtains hung everywhere to hide storage, even in the restroom, which was disgusting. Pricing is ridiculous for supposedly budget friendly. When you tack on accessories and alterations, it gets pricey but not for quality. I get it-weddings are big business and DB fills a niche in the market of increasingly expensive designers gowns you wear for a couple hours. But for many women, this time is momentous and want to experience a little magic. There's no magic here. Only junk. read more

So we went to David's today with my sister to start looking at dresses. My sister is in her 40's and was not into getting a traditional dress. We of course thought she should and of course have the experience. MONICA was our consultant and we so wonderful. She listened to what my sister wanted and we had a great time. Best of all my sister bought a dress!!! So I am writing this because I figured it would take us a year to find a dress instead of an hour. I didn't end up buying my dress here but I had a really great experience trying on dresses. My stylist "Omie" (I'm probably spelling her name wrong) was such a great help and she picked dresses that would look good for my figure and was so sweet throughout the entire process. The store just didn't have the dress that I wanted to try on. They did help with all of my 11 bridesmaids' dresses though. Their accesorries are kind of overpriced however; I found very similar ones on Amazon for much cheaper. Overall though the customer service is great! read more

I would give them more stars but the manager (Patricia) was the rudest person I've ever met in my life and completely ruined it all for me! I run 7 stores and would never let my managers or myself treat a guest like that! EVER! Sharon is the woman who helped us with the fittings and she was absolutely lovely! In my opinion if it wasn't for her I would have left and not bought the 2 dresses I did! I also had to go back because online the one dress was $129. And In store the price tag said $150. I asked when the dress when on sale she said a couple weeks ago. Which means they still had the old price tag on it and were charging people the wrong price. So make sure you cross reference or just don't buy dresses at David's bridal because it's overall not a pleasant experience! There is a reason they don't have good star ratings trust me when I say, just do business else where! read more

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride... this place makes a 23 year old spinster like me want to run down the aisle! The staff are all pleasant, happy, everything you would expect a bridal store to be. They are attentive, light hearted, and eager to assist. The fitting rooms are huge and the beautiful mirrors make you feel lile a supermodel preparing to rock the runway! Myisha helped me out and she is just fabulous!! I ordered a bridesmaid dress for a friends wedding I am attending in FL. the dress came fast and was packaged very nicely. I took off a star because when I went to pick up the dress, it was about 10mins before someone attended to me... i will attribute this to wedding season. the hardworking bridal consultants take their time with each customer. Came here for a maid of honor dress and when I had to pick up, I called in advance so my dress could be brought to the front. I had a 3 month old with me so I didn't want to spend too much time in here. Instead I was left on hold for over 10 minutes by someone really rude and if it wasn't for Dana a sales associate, I would have just left. Dana was very professional and seemed to genuinely care about getting my dress to me as quickly as possible as I had paid over 2 months in advance. Thanks Dana!! read more

They have a pretty small selection to choose from and they do not necessarily have your size in the color you want. The saleswoman was rude and generally not very helpful. She told the bride to be not to touch the dress in the color she wanted for the maid of honor because it was not in her size. So basically you try on dresses in a color you have no interest in and they show you thumbnail size color swatches in a brochure. How you can tell what the color would look like from that small pic is beyond me! I tried on a couple of dresses there and the material seemed very cheap. Total waste of time. read more

I had a terrible experience at David's Bridal. I scheduled my appointment days in advance, I had no issue scheduling. I arrived at the store on a Saturday, on-time, I walked in and there were 3 guest waiting ahead of me. The host at the desk was clearly overwhelmed. She said to one of the other workers "omg please don't leave me, its so busy" After 4-5 mins of waiting I take notice of all of the other parties in the store. There was tons! I was told to take a seat complete a form and then was given a book of dresses to look through. The lady that was going to help me with finding a dress came over to introduced herself, took the form I was completing and asked me what did I have in mind for my wedding dress. I then proceed to show her something in the book and she took the book and said "yeah we dont have any of these dresses here, take a look at what we have in store." So I asked her "do you have something with bling or sparkle" and she said no. She mentioned that she had another bride and proceeded to go help them. SHE NEVER RETUNED! I waited 15-25 mins for her and she never came back. I walked directly pass her, out the door and not once did she say anything to me. Completely unprofessional. David's Bridal is over rated and it was also my 1st place to look for my wedding dress. Completely are over booked and a mess! Not a huge selection at all! I am completly dissappointed and expected a more professional atmosphere. read more

This was by far the most unpleasant wedding dress shopping experience. I had an idea in my head what I wanted... when we walked in on time for our scheduled appointment I was handed a crappy book to put sticky notes in of the ones I liked. Ok. Not. Big deal. But wasn't exactly seeing what I was picturing. Once my lady came over she was overwhelmed and basically stripped me down into the dressing room throwing slips and a corset on me without ever even talking to me about what I wanted. She essentially just brought over the dresses I picked out in the book. She then shoved the dress on me and walked away for like 15 minutes! After my mom asked a sales associate to help and ask for help they said oh sorry we are busy since we got walk-ins. WHATS THE POINT OF AN APPOINTMENT?!? After that response we wanted to get out of there. Plus my lady had no idea what she was doing. The sad part is there were dresses I was interested in but the customer service was so bad I wanted to get out of there so fast. Ended up getting my dress at Hollywood Bridal in Kenilworth !! Go there and be treated as you should! They know how to do it right. This Davids Bridal deserves 0 stars. read more

Even on my next visit for my bridesmaid she took her time and found everything we were looking for. AWFUL! My second bridal appointment ever and it was absolutely terrible at David's Bridal. It doesn't even deserve one star. Even though we made an appointment, my family and maid of honor were waiting in the front of the store for ten minutes waiting to be seated. (this also included my mother who uses a cane). After being seated, a consultant told us to move because we were in her spot. We moved to another area and then ANOTHER consultant told us that we were in the wrong spot. My consultant attempted to explain to the rude consultant that we were sitting there and she would gladly bring other chairs there for her clients. The rude consultant became aggressive and was awful to my consultant and my family. I was completely put off and wanted to leave immediately. I then proceeded to try on three dresses which were expensive yet cheap quality. They looked like costumes. I was also pressed to sign up for a David's Bridal credit card even though I hated all the dresses. I was so happy that my first appointment was lovely at the Red Carpet Boutique in Millburn, NJ. If not, I think I would have been so disheartened with the whole dress hunting process. read more

She showed me around the different dresses. She did not rush me as my appointment over the allotted time. She helped me find the perfect dress! Went here a few months back. I was 5 months pregnant with my second child. Just showing. I purposely waited because I would've just given birth when I had to wear the bridesmaid dress and I wanted to closely resemble my frame then. I'm 5'0 118 lbs ... actively going to the gym. Size 0 and a size 3 once I was 9 months. Anyway, I asked for a size 6. I fit it quite nicely but then the sales associate found out i was pregnant and talked me into getting a bigger size. I didn't mind it too much. So I tried on an 8. It was loose and when I voiced my concern about getting a size too big she asked the lady who does alteration to assure me it was going to look the same once altered ... they even talked me to getting a 10. I was swimming in it. As I was changing out of the clothes I overheard both of them talking and laughing about how it was silly I didn't think I was going to gain a lot of weight... and how "swollen" I was even though they had no clue I was 5 months pregnant until I mentioned it. ..laughing ... more than a few times "good luck losing that weight!" .. so I sat there pretty upset. I cried. I waited a day before i complained to management about their behavior just to make sure it wasn't just me overreacting. Management got back to me very quickly and apologized. So I gave birth in August. Already back to my prebaby weight... and I just left the alterations.. and a whopping 84 bill to fix the dress that was way too big. Thanks a lot Davids bridal!! read more

I made an appointment at this location for a fitting today. When I came in, they didn't have my appointment down. After expecting awful service from other reviews I'd seen about this store, I pulled out the confirmation email for my appointment. Not that it mattered. My mom, sister, and I picked out dresses, switched sizes, and found our way into a fitting room the entire "appointment" because a consultant never came to help us. Other people without an appointment were helped as we were left standing to fend for ourselves. The store is dirty, disorganized, and quite a zoo. After reading the reviews, we almost didn't go to this David's Bridal location, but the others were just too far! We figured even if the service was horrible, we'd get to see the dresses...which was what mattered! However, we had Leah as our bridal consultant, and she was really nice and helfpul! Yes, she was taking care of two brides at one time...but she did a great job juggling. No one was rude to us at all, but the store itself needs cleaning up and updating. I tried on a ton of dresses, and we got a feel for what the quality was like (not so good). Overall though, it was really helpful in helping me narrow down styles, fabrics, etc. that I like, so I definitely think it is worth a trip just to try on a ton of dresses in one trip! I was about 30 minutes early for my appointment and decided I would just look around. The girl at the front desk was rude when telling me I was early for my appointment and would have to wait until my appointment time, which I knew I would have to wait but she didn't need to be rude about it. I decided since I was there I would just look around to see if I saw any dresses that I would be interested in trying on. My Matron of Honor decided to look for bridesmaid dresses. She picked out several dresses and was rudely told that she could not try them on until the appointment time, and I was again rudely told that I couldn't even look at any wedding dresses without my consultant. My consultant was busy with several other brides (clearly they were understaffed) therefore she was unable to really give me the attention or time I would have liked. The bride across from me looked very frustrated and annoyed at having to wait so long for another dress because our consultant was all over the place. After going to David's in East Brunswick I noticed a huge difference in services and dress selections which is where I ended up purchasing my dress from. Springfield location was just more convenient because it's closer. As a result of my experience I almost didn't go to another David's but was assured by my girlfriend that the one in East Brunswick was MUCH better. She was absolutely right. This place needs to ensure there are enough consultants to assist brides AND to work big time on the customer service skills of their front desk staff. They are the front line and the first impression of your business that potential customers get. read more

What a nightmare! I originally went to the Totowa location and was treated very rudely so I decided to try this location instead. It was a mistake to go to David's Bridal all together. I had made an appointment to try on bridal gowns. When I got there, they handed me a book and told me to pick a couple dresses so I chose 4 that I liked. I waited awhile and was told that even with an appointment you still have to wait quite awhile because they over-book. The woman helping me went to get the dresses for at least a half hour. Once I got to the dressing room, the lady helping me was paged to the front. She left me for at least 15 minutes. When she came back she apologized and stated that she has to help another bride at the same time as me because everyone else was too busy. She left to go pick the other brides dresses off the rack. I waited another 20 minutes. Finally she came back and put my first dress on and quickly ran to the other bride to help her. I was literally in the store for hours and only got to try on 4 dresses and at the end she asked which one I will buy. I asked if I can look at some in person rather than in a book and she said absolutely not because they don't want the public touching their dresses. How does that make sense? People try on dresses there everyday but they aren't allowed to touch them on the rack while they are in plastic. She then stated that I was over my appointment time and I either needed to choose a dress now or make an appointment for a different day to do this process all over again. Do yourself a favor and stay away from David's bridal all together. They don't make you feel special. They make you rush to choose a dress and don't even help. Why make an appointment if they are going to help multiple people at once and rush you to make a decision just to get you out of the store? read more

Ok, didn't have to do that at two other stores but I did. Then was given a book and sticky notes, not a stylist and told to tag 4 dresses I wanted to try on. I was confused and asked if that was all I could try on. She said yes then I would have to make another appointment, depending on time I could maybe try on 5. What!?!?
