I had the most incredible experience at Wander Atelier--it was actually the very first place I went wedding dress shopping, and it completely set the bar. I initially came in specifically to try on designs from Alena Leena, a designer I had fallen in love with online. During my first visit, I worked with Nicole, the owner, who was so kind, patient, and genuinely supportive. As someone who didn't fully know what I wanted yet, I never felt rushed or pressured--she made the entire experience feel exciting and comfortable. Nicole suggested I come back for an Alena Leena trunk show, and I'm so grateful I did. At my second appointment, Angelica helped me and was an amazing listener--she really understood my vision and helped guide me without ever pushing me in a direction that didn't feel like "me." That visit turned out to be everything. I found my dream dress from the trunk show collection, but I also couldn't stop thinking about another dress I had fallen in love with during my first visit (which happened to be on sale!). I had always dreamed of having two dresses--one for the ceremony and one for the reception--but didn't think it would actually be possible within my budget. Thanks to the Wander team, it was possible. I walked out of that appointment with both of my dream Alena Leena dresses and a veil--all within budget. Wander Atelier was my fourth and final stop in the search for my wedding dress! As a Brooklyn bride with a heart for Jersey, I was excited to check out this highly recommended bridal shop by one of my bridesmaids - who also found her wedding dress here! Enter Angelica, the badass sister/friend you always wanted and stylist extraordinaire. She had such a genuine, honest demeanor that made me feel comfortable and confident. She listened intently to my vision for my wedding day and was able to read between the lines to understand what I truly wanted, even when I was trying to play it cool. Angelica's keen eye and industry expertise were a game-changer. Her ability to know the dress I was meant to love before I even realized it - simply by pointing out the one I couldn't stop staring at - was a testament to her skills. I am SO glad that my wedding planner connected me with Nicole at Wander Atelier. I went on their opening day and the space is incredible. The experience was the opposite of every other salon I went to. She took the time to walk me through the boutique and tell me a little bit about each designer they carry, which are all very unique, before I looked at anything. The fitting areas are private and beautiful. The whole place looks like a set from Arch Digest magazine. We were welcomed with champagne and cookies, and my maids had plenty of space to hang out while I was changing. Nicole had pulled some dresses for me before I arrived (one of which was THE ONE!) and made sure she could get it in time for my wedding in 2 months. I didn't feel rushed, she paused so we could take a thousand pictures, and I put the one I liked on multiple times until I was sure. Their accessory assortment is incredible, it's like an Anthropologie bridal vibe that is so unique and I didn't see anything like it anywhere else. I was blown away by the stunning selection of gowns at Wander Atelier. Every staff person I worked with was super knowledable, friendly and made the process of getting a dress easy and fun. I loved how every designer and dress felt unique and this didn't feel like a "cookie cutter" wedding boutique. It makes a huge difference to work with people that love what they do and have great knowledge in their field. Wander Atelier was my first stop in my wedding dress search. Scheduling an appointment online was a breeze; a questionnaire was sent to my email shortly after with questions about style choices, wedding theme, budget, etc. Due to Covid-19, they were allowing bride + 3 to come in which I thought was very generous considering most other places are only allowing bride +2 & sometimes even just bride +1. All health guidelines were followed and masks were worn. I felt completely safe in their space! The location of the shop is in a beautiful building with ample local parking in Caldwell. Taking my first steps into the salon I was taken back by the amazing interior design! This place actually opened in early March and then was forced to close very shortly after due to Covid-19 but I'm so glad they were able to reopen. Our group had a private room and after sitting down and being offered water or champagne ( I took the champagne! ), we started talking about some of the items I mentioned in the questionnaire. It's so hard to pick just 1-2 things I loved about my experience here but one that stands out was that Nicole encouraged my group to walk through the salon and to feel/pick out dresses we all liked. She didn't just assume or pick things out for me but rather allowed us to be in control. When trying on the many dress choices, she made me feel very comfortable. It was truly like chatting with a friend! If there were things I didn't like about certain dresses she was able to offer advice on how to make small tweaks to get to what my vision was. They also have really nice accessories and hair pieces. I have to say that I most definitely fell in love with my dress the minute I put it on but I'm the type of person that needs to compare and exhaust my options. I told Nicole this and she completely understood and wasn't pushy or trying to sell. After leaving WA I went to another salon and my experience did not compare. It was obvious that WA had the nicest quality and they were not pushy and or eager to just sell which meant a lot to me. WA set high a high standard for a bridal dress shopping experience because Nicole made it so memorable and easy going. My 2nd time visiting WA Nicole had my dress already hanging & waiting for me in the room. Trying it on again I had that say yes to the dress moment and waterworks. I ended up making a slight modification to the dress and Nicole was was able to confirm with the designer that it was possible from our first visit (she is that attentive!!). If you are just starting your dress shopping journey or have already gone to multiple places, please give Wander Atelier a look. You won't regret it! They have many different styles and sizes to accommodate any bride; from more modern bride all the way to the boho bride. They have created such a warm and welcoming environment that is inclusive for all. They have a great arrangement of designers that you can't find anywhere else. The boutique experience was more than I could have imagined. Nicole is truly such a sweetheart and really listens to what you say and what you want. I feel very lucky to have been able to have my wedding dress shopping experience at her salon.
