It was a good sign to see a lot of cars outside in the parking lot, so we opted to stop here for dinner instead of fast food on the way home. All the food was either on the salty side or bland side. Regular buffet is $9.99 and they had a special prime rib dinner + buffet for $13.99. I would pass on the prime rib next time. It was very thin, cooked to medium, as requested, but the regular buffet filled me up just fine. Nothing spectacular about the desserts but the banana pudding was good, though it was mostly whipped topping. The servers were very friendly and one girl looks just like Cher Lloyd, minus all the tattoos. The food was fresh and was replenished often. And the buffet area was wiped clean frequently. For those who aren't from the area, just FYI, they carry Pepsi products, not Coke. read more

In the tradition of mid to late 80's, Davids uses a mixture of Golden Corrals open buffet and Western Sizzlin's line fed entry and order before sitting down at your table. I enjoyed the retro active approach, yet the dizzoid at the front line knew nothing about the menu. This was very disheartening being my first encounter with David's. I chose my table, sat down and went to get my salad which was much less than expected. Although I made a decent pre dinner salad which filled my pallet for fresh veggies, the sirloin I ordered came in a bit overdone on the outside edges, and perfect in every other way. The tenderness of the nearly no fat flat iron surprised my tastebuds with real beef taste. The serve staff in their kachi pants and polo kept the drinks full and inquired of the meal, yet did not keep busy during the period in between customers. Clean and comfortable and very nice atmosphere. I will eat here again, especially being directly next to the pilot truck stop. read more

FLIES all over the food and I mean a lot! Not 3 or 4, they are over the food, cups, everything. I wanted to eat some fry chicken and I pulled the chicken skin and a long black hair was inside the batter!!!!! I told the waiter and showed her and she apologized for the inconvenience and a couple minutes later the Manager came to our table and gave us 2 cards for a free buffet, there is NO WAY I will go back to that place I gave the tickets to a couple that was arriving so they could use them. If you like a clean place to eat this is definitely not the place to go. Needless to say the service was bad too and they bring you the plates to your table and utensils so If your waiter is not good you will be waiting until they bring you a plate so you can go grab some more food. David's buffet is absolutely awesome! They have a bunch of different meats like steak, fish and friend chicken. They had a variety of sides that taste a lot like KFC's sides. I gave them a 4 because their deserts and salad bars were pretty tiny compared to other places like Golden Corral. The service was good, server was nice and the price is to be expected of a buffet. It wasn't awful but it wasn't fabulous either. It was a truck stop diner but with ponderosa food. But the food was hot. We both ordered the buffet, decent pricing. Good sweet tea. Deserts weren't good (rubbery brownies) and the steak tasted boiled. However, they did have good country fried steak, mash and gravy. Bathrooms were mediocre. The red truant could be updated but it had a country feel. A few neat history pieces on the wall. The service the decent, however we were never asked to have fresh rolls like every other table around us did. To my surprise, they close at 10, we went around 9pm. Travelers - stay away! If you are used to good food, your tastebuds will revolt here. Grey, over-cooked tasteless, old food. The veggies are canned and over cooked. The steak that was supposed to be medium rare was well done, the ribs had little pieces of bone in them. Even the watermelon was mealy and overripe. Not to mention being treated to loud Jesus music. I am not a buffet fan but my family is so I was surprised at the quality of the food especially the buffet steak here. I was amazed at the actual medium rate steak with sautéed mushrooms to add! The bacon crumbles in the salad area were actually crumbled bacon not bacon bits(yum!) The prices were great and the service was better than even a regular family sit down. Nice little place that is priced very well for a buffet. $9 and change with a drink. Some things that were good is the serves is good. Fried chicken had a crisp skin and good flavor. David's Stead House catered my wedding in June (married life has kept me too busy to write this till now). Four months down the road and I still have friends and family talking about how amazing the food was. We had salad, bread, chicken fettuccine and pasta with red sauce. This place looked like a sweet 80's steakhouse. Walked in and wasn't much different. Got in line to get our drinks the girls walked off wasn't sure if we were supposed to wait or what finally a lady got our drinks and plates and we ordered and paid. Nobody comes up to help you find a seat and the place was crowded so I stopped the first waitress I could and asked her for help because we had 11 people she was kind of new she said and was trying to help she asked her manager about the back addition and he didn't even say a full word just a bunch of different sounds and walked away. The waitress said she was sorry and I told her it wasn't her fault he didn't even say a full word to us. The manager walked back by and I stopped him and said sir can you help? You didn't even say a full word a minute ago. He said "well the back addition is for a party I said so can you help us find something and sat our party split from each other with 3 tables between us. Our waitress wouldn't take any of our dirty plates so we had to walk them to the station so we could have room to eat. The food was alright cheap buffet food. They have unlimited steak medium well and medium rare they were cooked about the same just the medium rare and the medium well was the amount of fat. I asked if they had grilled chicken and a waitress said yes follow me and lead me to the fried chicken. I think if the staff was a little more friendly it might make up for the ok food. Probably won't eat here again unless someone pays for it and even then I will try and talk them into somewhere else. read more

We had passed this place a couple of times before and did not have time to stop. Wished we would have made time before to stop, we will from now on. This was the best buffet we have found on the road, every thing on there was fresh, looked and tasted home cooked. Had several different hot and cold stations. Price was very cheap,it was cheaper for 2 to eat here than for us to eat at fast food places. It was less than $20 for 2 adults. Next time we may try something from the menu but with how good the buffet was don't know if we will worry about trying to pick out a single thing to eat. Lol read more
