I grew up camping in KOAs with my family. This one has always looked like it's under construction. I live nearby and have ridden my bike thru there on occasion. Read reviews and even though I haven't stayed there I can say the place is not kept up. And hearing they charge for someone to visit you! Crazy. Try and get a camping spot at Markham Park which is just a few miles north of this place. read more

When it comes to Customer Service and hospitality a little bit goes along way. Today I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Chris who came off as the manager with her five star service. She was so quick to assist me in anyway she could. when I gave her the details of my situation, she was very caring and understanding and made sure to look out for me in every way possible though we did not end up booking a reservation, she left such a positive impact that I felt so compelled to leave a review for her. The is absolutely the worse KOA we have stayed at. Front appearance is beat up, gate broken and don't close. Drive into an area that looks like a dumping parking lot. The lots are extremely tiny and you have to unhitch your vehicle and park across the way or side ways as tight as possible to stay off the road. It appears to be very dark and peaceful for 19mins or so until another plane comes through to land as park is in landing area of airport. Wi-fi doesn't work on back road. Owners were extremely rude to us because we had a guest the night before that stopped by at 8:45pm to 10:10pm (she couldn't get her GPS going to leave the area she wasn't familiar with (found out later GPS signal for out for military training in area)) office closes at 8. How do you register your guest? The next morning my goddaughter came to pick us up to drop us somewhere else for the day. I was suppose to have breakfast ready and my grill was giving me an issue. She do not stop at office and an employee named Tony followed her to our site and told us if she plans on coming back today then to register her vehicle at the office. I had just put on the last couple of bacons on grill and a very rude woman came up and told me I was breaking the rules by not registering my guest and she didn't care if she was only here for a few minutes or the day that its $5 to be here. I apologized to her and told her what Tony told us and that she is braiding my sisters hair and soon as I get this grill under control and Ill be right up with her. It hadn't even been 8/10 mins when she came right back up to me, punched on my RV door and told my sister and I that it isn't working out for us and we have 10 mins to pack up and leave. I was blown away by this. She would not let me speak, she was very rude and getting aggressive with us which in turn made my sister angry and I had to calm her down and explain to the lady that I was not in fact trying to be trouble some or start any issues. That I just told my sister to get my god daughter if she was done braiding her hair. The lady than told me my luck was out and I was going to miss our concert and to pack up right now and I had 10 mins. I told her to call the police as I have been trying to work with her. Than it takes longer for my grill to cool off too put away plus cleaning and packing RV back it. She yelled at me to follow her right now than to register and pay for her. We follow her right up to office. She registers with the lady in front, they won't take my money for the guest fee. Told me to make sure I was gone in the morning and never come back (I am furious inside as I am with my teenage god daughter and we have honestly done nothing to be treated this way and I didn't want her to see me angry) I tell the lady I promise I will never come back as my family and I have stayed at numerous KOAs and this one is definitely the most sucky one. She followed me outside and said she doesn't have to take my attitude as I was on thin ice. Told her I didn't in fact have the attitude and she showed up angry to my site and to have a goooooood day and walked away. She still was running her mouth as we walked off. We always hang outside when we are at the KOA. We did not feel comfortable here and I wish I would have read all the reviews here and on google as there have been multiple reviews with the same complaints. read more

We booked one night here to start since we didn't know what our plans were going to be for the rest of our time in Florida. After a few hours of being here and exploring the 3-mile trail right behind this RV park, we decided to book for 2 more additional nights since our neighbors were quiet, the dog park was nice enough, and the 3-mile trail was great to walk our three large dogs. Everything is squeaky clean, the neighbors are pretty quiet, and the staff is friendly. We quickly realized we needed to make long terms plans sooner than later before this place got booked up even more and we did. With the help of Jan, we were able to extend our stay by 8 more days. Though it took some moving things around and a lot of time, Jan was extremely helpful and made sure this was done in a timely manner. She honored our requests and was so willing to help. Thank you, Jan, for making our stay at Davie KOA a fantastic one! I'd also like to give a shout out to Mark & Roger for being so friendly and welcoming to KOA. Good experiences, good location, pool is clean, lots of changes and improvements underway... never had any issues. Employees are usually very kind and helpful. And btw, the pond has water now. May not last since it's an overflow pomd meant to retain at certain levels and it worked well with all the rain we just received from the hurricane in the gulf. read more

DONT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY!!! be warned. The owner Mike demanded that we tell him the health issues associated with our service dog. When I informed him we had a service dog he DAMANDED payment. When I told him he could not charge for a service dog Mike got rude and disrespectful. Mike demanded we tell him what the health issue was and what the dog performed to help. When I told him it was a service dog for health issues he demanded more in-depth information. Mike has now canceled out reservation. We stayed here in June 2021 without issue. When we CALLED and made the reservation we told them we had a service dog. That was several weeks ago. Now on 11-10-21 Mike demands payment and is so rude and disrespectful. Less than 20 minutes and Mike canceled our reservation. We have been traveling for over 15 years and have never ever had anyone talk to use like the Owner Mike did. Way to treat handicapped people Mike. We are now filing complaints with the ADA who we spoke to and they have assured us they will be looking into this. State of Florida AG, KOA Corporate, and having our attorney look into this clear violation of ADA laws. Mike, I hope you never get treated the way you treated us or make my wife feel this upset. The only reason I can't give them five stars is due to the way you have to reserve spots here at this RV park. We have never had to pay a deposit to hold our RV spots at any other Rv park we have ever stayed at for an extended amount of time. None in Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, or Oklahoma; wasn't till we got to Florida that we had to learn about paying deposits or laying for spots ahead of time. We normally go to a park and tell them we will be there for several months and never pay anything in advance to hold the spots. But I guess we will pay the $400 in advance to hold our spot till January since we need it. Spots are a little close but it's relatively quiet other than the early morning wake up call from the roosters in the neighborhood behind the park. There are ducks and iguanas all around the park and along the walk trails outside the park. Laundry room is good but not air conditioned and only half the machines work. The guy working in the front office David is as nice as can be and is willing to help you get hooked up when you arrive and is always willing to help you out with whatever you need. I haven't met the owner but he has been working daily on adding more spots and improving the park. read more

We stayed here at Davies KOA, Feb. of 2018, for a month. We enjoyed our stay and the pool. All facilities were very clean, especially the shower rooms. We chose Davies KOA because it was close to areas we wanted to visit. We decided to stay @ Davie KOA for a month in Feb. 2019. Made our reservations in Oct. 2018. When making your reservations you pay a deposit of $400.00. This is non- refundable if you have to cancel it doesn't make any difference what your situation maybe. We had to call to cancel our reservation due to a major surgery. We called two months prior to our reservations and Davies would not refund our money or any portion of our deposit. So make sure to remember this when making your reservations. Absolutely no refunds for cancellations for any reason. Do not go here. Staff unhelpful and in fact uncooperative. We've been here for three years with no problems but this year .... the best way I can say is the staff is one of those who are inflexible and way to full of themselves especially the manager. As for the campground it has been in a perpetual state of construction since we first started using it. We used it as it was convenient stop for getting to the Keys. The facilities are old and dated. I'm surprised KOA allows them to keep the brand. In closing I will give them this one cudo. They did give me a full refund. Considering that the reason we had to cancel was due to their inflexibility that is how it should have been. Due to their earlier attitude I fully expected to pay the cancellation fee. We are KOA VIP Members with over 285K points. This KOA joins 2 other KOAs on our never revisit list. These being the Hollywood, FL and the Milton/Gulf Pines KOAs. We've stayed at numerous koas thru out north America over the years. This is the worst. Extremely tight spaces, wifi a zero, cell almost a zero and in the city. Could not park road at the site as priority parking given to a gent couple spaces down as he was seasonal. At 70 yrs old,just carried what we needed. Would not recommend for the cost. read more

The prices here are high. They aren't equipped to be a camp site. They're camp sites are flooded. They don't have ice. They don't have a working change machine and won't give out change from the office. Maybe they need to shut down and fix the place before they charge full fees.... Been in numerous KOAs around the country. This place is the rough side, dated facilities with very tight spots. But, the worst part of this little spot is the managers. Hot headed, hostile and tone deaf would be just three terms to describe these sad individuals. Add high pricing and inflexible, unfriendly policies and my suggestion is to keep looking unless you simply have no other choice. Even dry camping at WalMart for a night or two would be an improvement over the Davie KOA. read more

The Park is quite and dark at night, I enjoyed the people I was around. Yes it is a tight fitting park , but I see the owner making improvements daily. He is updating and getting it repaired after so much weather damage this area has went through. Around this park is a 3 mile walking bike trail and across the street a large park, close in driving distance Hollywood Beach Fort Lauderdale Beach . Many shops in a five mile square , with lots of stores open 2/ 2021. Easy to get to the keys from here last KOA camp before you get in the highway to get there, so be sure to stop in . Starting with new managers in February so be sure to stop and say Hi to Patsy and Mike. Be patient as the work to get the park to "Holiday" KOA standards. It will be a work in progress all summer but as they do , it's still a friendly and quite place to hang out in the winter. Lots of monthly folks here this year for the work down in Miami. Be sure to book early for Jan - March it fills up fast for week long or over night, it's a great place to hang out or stop over . Be sure to enjoy the heated pool! read more

I can't believe this place is a KOA. Very disappointed with everything except how nice the people at the office were. The facilities need so much work! Bathrooms were hard to find and impossible to use for a family. There's not enough bathrooms. There was water overflowing from the toilet and shower. No ventilation. See our Better Business Bureau complaint for additional details since they have been sent the actual documents which support our account and dispute their timing and order of events. We made a reservation on August 22nd, 2018 for Davey KOA Campground in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. The original reservation dates were Feb. 15, 2019 to Mar. 15, 2019. We were told that we were able to modify our reservation dates. A $400 deposit was taken. The corporate KOA website states (https://koa.com/contact-us/faqs/8/801/): "WHAT IS KOA'S NATIONAL CANCELLATION GUIDELINE? If you need to cancel your reservation, you must call the campground before the deadlines listed below to receive your deposit refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee. Text and email notifications of cancellations are not acceptable. Not calling to cancel/no show will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit. RV & camp; Tent Sites: 48 hours cancellation notice is required. Notify your KOA by 4 p.m. two days before your scheduled arrival." Upon making the reservation, we received a confirmation email stating that the reservation deposit was "non-refundable". This did not match the KOA National Guideline and there was and is no exception on the KOA national guideline for length of stay. We did not make issue because we were planning to stay and they did confirm we could make changes...verbally. How is one to know the change in policy for cancellation until AFTER the reservation is made and paid. On September 20, 2018, they confirmed that we could make changes to the reservation by modifying our reservation dates. We changed the reservation dates, without fee, to Feb. 19, 2019 to Mar. 19, 2019. This is confirmed by emails. We have both the original confirmation as well as the change. This week, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change the dates from to Feb. 19, 2019 to Feb. 24, 2019. The new reservation amounts would be more than our $400 deposit. Despite the public stated KOA corporate policy referenced above and the precedent of allowing us to change this reservation on Sep. 20, 2018, they informed us that they could cancel the reservation and we would forfeit our deposit and they would make a new reservation for the new dates. This is a violation of the stated corporate policy and does not agree with the email reservation confirmation terms (which we can provide to you). I mentioned to Davey KOA on the phone that the stated corporate policy did not confirm to what they were doing and that their confirmation terms and conditions do not say changes are not allowed. KOA Corporate now claims individual campground can change the policy, which is why the Davey KOA confirmation and the corporate website do not match. Then why state the corporate policy without qualifiers? Also, how is a consumer supposed to know that until AFTER they have paid and an email is received. By that time, it is too late and they have changed the terms. I informed them, I am not willing to cancel and loose my $400 and we got off the phone. We sent an email confirming we wanted to maintain the dates we had (Feb 19 to Mar 19). Shortly, within minutes, we received a reservation cancellation without refund. This reservation was cancelled without merit and solely at the discretion of the campground because we pointed out that their policies where unfair because they did not match and there was no exceptions listed. Not only did they violate the stated corporate policy regarding cancellations, but they refused to allow changes (dates) they had already allowed in the past without fee. We own a campground and we allow 24 hours after a customer receives our confirmation to review any additional terms and conditions that they were unaware of when booking. In this case, it would have been the cancellation policy change since the customer cannot be aware before paying. We have now filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General's office for unfair business practices. read more

Could be a 2 or 3 star. Nice location, staff seemed okay, clean restrooms and showers. It is the smallest and tightest location i have EVER seen or been to. At points the main road looks like a golf cart access road at a golf course. Backing in long travel trailers is challenging to say the least. At our spot i had to keep one of my slides partially in as to not hit a pvc electrical post. It could be a 2 star mainly because it is so close but everything else makes it a 3 star. read more

I stayed here for an extended amount of time while I was apartment hunting. This KOA is ready for any traveller. There are a ton of amenities; electric and water hook-ups, dog walking park, pool, showers, bathrooms, laundry mat, bar, convenient store, tennis court.., you know, the works. The staff is very hospitable, they do a great job catering to the campers needs. Probably the biggest complaint people have is the space for RV sites, there a bit close together. Just stayed at this KOA in my son's 31 foot motorhome for two nights. The manager was very nice. The area she put us in was quiet. Enjoyed the pool. The small store has a variety of useful items to include bagged ice, individual ice cream selections, and also items you may forget to bring. I thought the nightly price a little high but it was MUCH cheaper than any hotel rooms nearby and we wanted to be near the canals west of Davie for fishing. Their were four of us and we would stay there again. read more

We came as a party of 10 (5 adults, 5 young children), made our reservations back in January to stay at the end of February. They asked complete descriptions of the rv and camper we would be bringing and let them know that the camper was being pulled by the rv. When we arrived we were informed that they wouldn't be able to accommodate us bc of our length and was told we wouldn't be able to make it through the park. After being very rude and telling us we needed to exit the property, she informs us that the way we need to exit is through the park! So the reason we couldn't stay is bc we couldn't fit, but somehow we drove through the entire park just fine, passing the sites we were supposed to be on. Due to it being later in the afternoon and a busy time of the year it left a family of 10 stranded with nowhere to stay for the next 2 1/2 days! read more

Okay, so generally speaking most of the reviews I saw on this weren't great. I'll start by addressing the complaints ... 1. noisy because of airport ... we honestly didn't have a problem with noise, 2. Roosters and livestock nearby ... we heard a rooster once and a bunch of friendly ducks came by to visit ... we also saw horse farms nearby but didn't smell anything at park or on bike rides or walks, 3. Small sites ... true, but they have nice Florida type plants and good concrete pads so we enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings, 4. Facilities need updating ... maybe that one is somewhat true but they seem to be working on it, 5. Construction ... yes, as you enter the property but once you are into the area where you are camping I didn't see any issues. Fun facts: 1. It used to be a nudist camp but isn't now! 2. Across the street from an awesome park for biking, jogging or relaxing. 3. Ducks are really adorable. 4. Bathroom shower is very nice for an RV Park. 5. Staff seemed very nice. 6. Due to the pandemic we had to move from the park we were staying. We found the Davie KOA. The spots are very tight, looks more like a trailer trash park. Anyway, we decided to put up with it. They gave us a site that could hold 2 vehicles on the site without causing a problem to our neighbor. We paid an extra $75 for parking an had a parking spot to the front of the park. May and June has been raining a lot so we decided since we are all the way to the back of the park, it would be convenient to park our vehicles by our RV. I had spoke to someone in the office and they seemed okay with it as the park floods, the weather is super hot and almost everyday it rains. Well, on 2 occasion we were harassed by a black worker who was working on the landscaping and insisted that we needed to move the vehicle. We told him to have the manager call us so we could explain why we wanted to park near to our spot. Anyway, I have no idea what he told the manager, or even if he did, but he and two other workers came by. We call the office to speak to the manager, and was told, IF WE DID NOT MOVE VEHICLE IN 5 MINUTES THEY WERE GOING TO CALL THE POLICE AND HAVE US EVICTED. What kind of management is implemented at Davie KOA, where you are THREATEN BY FORCE over parking incident. Why this is unfair is because we saw other people parking their two vehicles by their spot. We hated the park anyway so it was not a problem for us to leave. NEVER AGAIN would we go to this dump. IF WE COULD GIVE THIS PARK A ZERO RATING WE WOULD. Other problems with this park are ducks mess all around causing flies to invade your area, rooster screaming early in the morning and all hours of the day, camp ground floods, grass is more like weed and not maintained, stray cat attacking our dogs and no manager to help with anything. read more

Poor management. We left a week early and didn't get a refund. Front gate is broken, piles of rocks in the front with trucks and tractors. Pile of plants like they are working on landscaping? One way road narrow. Spots are small and very close. Pond is gross. Dusks all over and pick at garbage bags. If you have more than 1 vehicle you have to pay and park near the front , far away. If you have both vehicles at your sight you get yelled at. Even if unloading groceries or changing then leaving. Half the dryers are out of order, quarters get stuck in the other machines so can't use them. Half the washers don't work. My car had ants and spiders in it. Stayed at this dump for one day during December, 2014. Spaces were tight even for my 20' RV. Access road to sites is narrow, full of bumps, potholes, and rocks. If you have a travel trailer there is no place near the site to park your vehicle. God help you if you park where you are not supposed to park - as it will surely get the attention of one of the "snowbird" residents with a heavy French accent who thinks they run the show. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nosey neighbors and other campers were rude, obnoxious and stared at me as if I was from the planet Zontar. One knocked on my RV about 9pm asking "Where did you buy this thing?" and another sternly reminded me that I need to be at least six inches away from the concrete pad otherwise he would see to it that I was fined. After staying one night (3 night reservation) I hitched up and got the heck out of Dodge - not even asking for a refund on the unused nights. If you don't mind living amongst the transient/homeless/Canadian snowbirds stay at this overpriced campground and enjoy the cigarette smoke filled atmosphere. This facility has great potential. 1. They need set a maximum stay limit to eliminate the transient homeless and Canadian snowbirds. 2. Any old and abandoned eyesore RVs need to be disposed of. 3. Make it a non-smoking facility. 4. Repave the access roads to the sites. read more

Only gave 1 star in Oder to leave a review. Upon check in we noticed the grass was very tall and UN- mowed. Run down units, overgrowth of weeds everywhere. Manager charged us $10 per day for our second truck. Even though the park is nearly empty. Then wanted us to park it practically outside the park in the front, while we camped at the opposite end!!! Narrow, cracked blacktop roads. No room to maneuver at all. We were charged additional $5 per day for each dog. All of these additional charges and we are KOA members. Put in a very tight, dirt space with our nice 33 ft Sunnybrook Fifth Wheel. Our 2 nd and last night She placed a tent directly next to us, even though there were multiple tent spots on the other end of park. Rude manager that raked us with every charge she could dig up!!!! We left after 2 days , we had enough!!! Mosquitos and chiggers heavy due to long grass. KOA could have had our money for one year, but this park is just not up to normal KOA standards!!!!!! This place has a lot of potential. Back in the day I'm sure place was great but it's rundown now. The pool is nice. No basket ball hoop. No net on tennis court. Jacuzzi is busted. There's a outdoor gym that looks like a prison gym. I stayed in a room off the pool it was nice and clean. I plan on keeping an eye on this place. I will return if it's returned to its former glory. Also current management is not kid friendly. I can only assume that this location is geared to snow birds with no kids and no need for a basket ball/tennis court. read more

This is a crowded little campground during the time when northerners take over the campgrounds. Many of the campers are congenial and helpful as are the staff, but some ban together and make you feel like outsiders in your own country. At first I was a little weary of this place. There is a u-haul rental right in the front which doesn't add to the appeal of the place, but after staying a few days I fell in love with the staff and pool. My kids loved it and had a blast. Yes this property is working on improving everything, but we loved it. The store is great- Donna is wonderful and they are kids friendly. I had my son running out into the street and Donna and another staff member always ran out to make sure my son didn't run into the street. It was appreciated and they never complained. Also the location is great. Publix is close and Walmart is down the street. A gas station is also close. The 5th star will be added once a few things are added or fixed.
