Davinci Flower in Plainview NY here on a Wednesday for their evening flower arranging class. The start is with Green Tea in tiny cups and a small display of crackers, a mix of grapes, cherries and cherry tomatoes in a small bowl. Then moving on to table to a box to use for clipped portions of unused stems , a scissor to cut the stems of the flowers used in a glass jar. You can follow the leader or adapt your own on a paper fan with soaked green floral foam already cut and taped in place for use. Seems this flower design is for family gatherings of good occasion. Flowers such as Freesia, mini carnations and Tiger Lillie's are included to incorporate . The time schedule for event list as 2 hours 6-8pm and overall can be done in 1 hour start to finish. The rest is said for socializing. The cost is high for this little event. Perhaps for a theme or special birthday it may be a worthwhile event. The staff is friendly. But for me it is not something I would do on any regularity or plant to do again now that I have experienced it.

Honestly, I'm surprised by the low ratings on this place. I grew up going here with my grandmother…read morewhen it was Martin Viette's. The new owners have kept up the same high-level of quality, huge selection, upscale vibe, gift shops, indoor plants, outdoor plants, friendly, helpful, employees, and beautiful, peaceful atmosphere. They're no more expensive, than any other plant nursery unless you're comparing them to Home Depot and Lowe's and there's really no comparison. I found the employees to be very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There is a huge selection of garden plants, pots, statuary etc. Multiple gift shops inside. They have a rewards program so I would sign up for it if you shop there. There are chickens, roosters, and I think it was baby goats, so there's fun things for the kids to do too. It's extremely clean and very well organized. The plants look really healthy. I was very impressed.

Food & Drinks: 4/5 I was mostly here for the food, so I went straight for the apple cider and donuts. The cider (12oz) was around $1.50 and tasted classic--not too sweet and warm--but the donut situation was a little disappointing. It was dry and not warm at all. They had pre-packaged ones with extra sugar on top, and I personally just wanted a simple, fresh one. We also grabbed a pumpkin loaf, and in total spent $18 for a pumpkin loaf, three donuts, and two ciders, which isn't terrible. Ambiance: 5/5 It's clearly a spot for gardeners and families--lots of pumpkins, plants, and kids running around. If you're not here to garden or bring kids, you might run out of things to do pretty quickly. Still, the setting is lovely for a short stop, especially if you're already in the area. Service: 3/5 Lines for drinks were a bit long, and the setup felt slightly unorganized, but the staff was polite and trying their best with the crowd. In all in all, a nice little fall stop if you're nearby or just want a quick cider-and-donut moment, but not a place I'd go far out of the way for--unless you're gardening or pumpkin-picking with family.

For a once-in-a-lifetime event stay away- I trusted them to deliver what we agreed on. They give you blah blah blah when you're there and when you pick it up it's not what you ordered! I had a full consultation for my daughter's Communion and carefully selected a soft pink-and-white palette with the designer. We specifically discussed the flowers I wanted, the overall vibe, and the flowers I absolutely did NOT want. I made it crystal clear: NO hydrangeas. Mostly roses!! When I arrived at the venue, not a single flower we selected was there. A completely different tablescape- I couldn't believe it. Instead, I was given a bunch of yellow and gold flowers - basically whatever was left sitting in their HOT refrigerator. The arrangement completely clashed with the entire tablescape and decor I had planned around the pink-and-white aesthetic. And yes -- despite specifically requesting no hydrangeas -- they were included too. The corsage look like it was a throwback from the 1980s. They charged $100 for that too. For wilted ugly flowers too. Photos will be posted later.

I had a funeral to attend and needed to find an arrangement for the following day, and I specifically wanted sunflowers. (Apparently, because of the flooding in South America their's a national shortage, or so I thought). I called Bob at Jack and Rose florists! Bob was more than helpful, and agreed to meet with me-on short notice; to discuss exactly what I wanted. He was warm, welcoming and understanding! Just an overall sweet man with a BIG HEART-from the minute I walked in the door-and when I came to pick up the flowers the next day, he gave me outstanding VIP service*with an unbeatable price (on a priceless arrangement) The flowers were the most BEAUTIFUL,FRESHEST flowers. Better than I could have imagined I will DEFINITELY use this florist again, and totally recommend to anyone who wants extreme satisfaction. Thank you, thank you, thank you, BOB for everything!

They UPCHARGE FOR EVERYTHING! There was an accounting error in the cost breakdown (UNDER $100). I called and emailed them proof in writing numerous times for the refund and they ignored me - apparently, they don't feel the need to pay back their overcharge. NOTE: They have a cash machine in their office because they only accept cash (WARNING!!!!) GIVE CASH AND KISS YOUR MONEY GOODBYE!) OUR WEDDING WAS AWESOME! PRAISES ABOUT THE FOOD, MUSIC, SERVICE AND PEOPLE - THERE WAS NOT ONE COMMENT ABOUT THE FLOWERS! Lots of money for ordinary flowers.
