I'm on the west coast and was not able to attend the east coast funeral but needed the flowers to be there. The person I spoke to was friendly, helpful and courteous. She assured me that if I gave her the information, she would add it to the order, and it would arrive by my requested time. I placed the order, and I realized I made a mistake on my billing information and called back. Again, I spoke with the same gal who was still super nice and fixed everything. Just a couple kids that work there today. Not actual florists. I came in requesting an arrangement and although they said it would be quick i didn't get the sense there was any expertise to be offered in terms of advising me. I've had florists ask me "what are her fav colors?" "What scents does she like" "what's the decor of her house" to try and build something I let them know I like the colors of the flowers behind them and they just laughed and said they're dead. I was in a rush the other day and I decided to pick up a birthday bouquet for a dear friend of mine on a Friday evening. Since I was driving past Georgewood I stopped in for the very first time. When I first arrived I was approached by a young woman who offered to assist me. From the looks of things it was evident they did not have a wide variety of flowers to choose from and the quality of some of the flowers appeared subpar. I explained to the woman that I was interested in a bouquet for a birthday. I told her that I wanted a bright and full bouquet; something pretty. She began putting together the bouquet and it seemed to be coming along well until she stuck a tacky blue hydrangea in there which I was displeased with. I quickly let her know that I did not want that hydrangea in my bouquet and she seemed a little annoyed but asked me what I wanted instead. I asked if she had peonies and she said no so I settled for a white lilly. Once I was satisfied with all the flowers we had chose I asked her if she could sprinkle glitter on my flowers when she was finished wrapping them. As per my request she responded, "that's not really our style" and quite frankly I was a little taken back by the words that had just came out of her mouth. She probably saw the look on my face because she proceeded to tell me why glitter is bad for flowers etc. After hearing her out I was still set on the glitter so I asked if she even had glitter and she said yes but it will be $5 extra to sprinkle on my flowers. Once again, a little taken back here, so on my way home I drove to the store down the road and picked up some gold glitter which was $1. There were a few ridiculous moments during this purchase but overall I was satisfied with my flowers mostly because my friend absolutely loved the bouquet. I'm also happy they honored their 15% yelp discount, that was a nice little band aid for everything I guess. read more

I've been going to Georgewood since the day they opened, literally, have recommended them to tons of people from weddings to daily arrangements! They have beautiful arrangements. However my last visit was extremely disappointing. I went to get a boutonniere sent pictures and they sent me back something simple from what I wanted but ok fine... when I got there is was even more basic then what I agreed to not to mention they are not cheap. I asked if they could put green berries on it and it literally looked like the rose shit green pellets... I asked the girl behind the desk hey can you give me a tip on how to put on the boutonniere her reply was no! You work at a florist ask your coworker you would think something out of the ordinary. Basic question since you work at a florist and you should know the answer... my point is how sad when I first started going there they were great now that they are more established they are mediocre at best. It's "small businesses" that are the first to say internet and big box stores ruin their business or take away from their business... no your lack of customer service does that for you A florist is a luxury item, if you didn't do basic (all around) you would continue to be successful. Buying flowers at a florist is a luxury item... yes I could go to Trader Joe's or another super market and buy flowers for $20 but I decided to go to a florist and the florist should appreciate that people still go there considering there are many other options and treat their customer accordingly and provide a product that warrants the cost. At the end the woman refunded me for the boutonniere and told me to find another florist but that's not what I was looking for step up your game Georgewood go back to when you first opened provide quality, beautiful arrangements and not basic factory quality... As per the woman recommend of finding another florist. I'll be trying Muscari in Roslyn... their arrangements are beautiful. Pics attached. I didn't take a pic of the green shit pellets the boutonniere was $17 Oh and when I showed her the picture that I wanted originally she told me that's for a wedding... who cares if it's a prom or wedding how are you going to tell me what my taste should be for something that I am paying for, I never gave them a budget btw read more

Excellent flower arrangements and service over the phone, terrible delivery experiences two times now. I can't comprehend why it's this difficult to get a delivery to the actual recipient, and I say this as someone who used to deliver food myself years ago. Improve your delivery etiquette, be less confrontational, and try harder to get that nearly $100 bouquet up to the recipient without sending passive aggressive voicemails but somehow failing to actually just press the doorbell. read more

I needed to get flowers for both my mom and my girlfriend a few days ago, so I jumped on yelp and found Georgewood Florist. I got to the store and was met by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store is not huge but everything they have oozes quality. This is certainly not a cheap place but they worked with my budget to make up two interesting, beautiful and distinct arrangements. I was so saddened to find out that this florist is not reputable. Having grown up in Floral Park/New Hyde Park this was the reason I chose them to order online. I ordered a funeral arrangement for $260.65 online as I live in Florida. The following morning called and reconfirmed receipt of order and to make sure the funeral parlor (Dalton) would receive on day of wake. Very nice on the phone. Since it was a funeral arrangement I did not want to "ask" did you receive our flowers..So...a few weeks later I asked and the family said no..no card, no flowers. They would have stood out they said because all of the arrangements they did receive were "RED". I order "Pink". Pictures were sent and they said never received. I contacted Georgewood to be told that since I waited 2 weeks they could do nothing. I contacted Dalton who advised that they did NOT receive flowers that day -- they checked their video cameras -- To date I have not received a refund. and now have to spend all this time disputing w/my bank as it came out of my checking account vs credit card.
