Would not recommend Ace florist. The owner was very difficult to work with. I was willing to spend a substantial amount for a floral piece for a very dear friend who lost her daughter. While I was ordering the arrangement I specifically said I wanted a large very full basket . When i saw the arrangement at the funeral home , I was extremely disappointed it was not full at all and very sparse. Suffice to say I was actually embarrassed . Stay clear of Ace florist. read more

Hi Denise, I took the time to make sure I did a little bit of research before responding to you but your pricing is indeed on the high end of the market and not "middle of the road" as you previously said, I spoke with 5 different florists within a 10 mile radius of your location and I was quoted as low as $75 for a dozen roses and as high as $115 all for Valentine's Day, all your local competitors. I also asked for regular days and those were the straight forward responses I received, all from $75 to $115 dollars on days not on Valentine's Day, so I respectfully take back my own comment on price gouging, I would in turn also ask that you do not condescend to your patrons when you say things like "you don't know what you are talking about", because I did then even as I was sticker shocked and know even more now as I stand firm on the fact that you services are clearly over-priced. I am greatly disappointed with Ace Florist, in Syosset. I would not recommend them. My Beloved Father passed away this fall, sent an arrangement from Ace, and they spelled - the word "Father" wrong on the card that accompanied the arrangement that was sent from me. When we pointed the error out to one of the owners he promised to make the correct but never did. The flowers were sent with the misspelling, can you imagine my disappointment. read more

As most other florists, Ace states that same day delivery orders must be placed by 12pm. I figured it wasn't the end of the world that they'd be delivered the next day, but I was happily surprised that the flowers were delivered in just AN HOUR!! And from the photo my friend sent, they looked gorgeous and just as pictured on the website. Buyer Beware! I ordered flowers for a friend by phone as I live in a different state. Immediately I got the impression the man I spoke with was not accommodating.However, I gave him the benefit of the doubt as many are stressed with Covid etc. I asked the difference between a standard arrangement and a premium, he was not really able to give me a definitive answer, so I ordered the premium. My friend received an arrangement and sent me a photo to thank me., Not the same thing I ordered and certainly not the quality I ordered. I did call the florist back and he said it was exactly as pictured except he used different colored flowers, he was very defensive. Needless to say, this is a business one should be careful of, sad really. Absolutely terrible! I ordered through FTD and delivered to 2 different locations. FTD contacted to separate florists for the same type of bouquet and they were 2 completely different qualities. The store was empty when I got there so the owner helped me extensively to choose the perfect flowers for a special occasion. They were opened until pretty late on a Saturday (closes at 6pm), so it gave me time to run errands in the afternoon and still arrive here with 1 hour left before closing. The choices of flowers weren't over the top; they have your classic roses and lilies. I was looking for a specific flower (peony) but of course it was out of season. The owner helped me to choose the next best pink-ish flower, carnations. He added some touches to the wrapping to make it look fantastic. They were courteous, delivered on time and the exact bouquet I ordered on line (has not been my experience with other florist). They contacted me to let me know there was no one home to receive the delivery and I appreciated the communication. Since no one would be available until their delivery person left, the owner himself delivered the flowers on his way home! If the flowers didn't arrive on that date, the meaning would've been lost. As it turns I was talking to the owner "Pat" who years ago had a floral shop in Manhattan and opened Ace Florist in over thirty years ago when he moved Syosset. A family operation which was SO NICE, its apparent they truly care. In the next few days I had calls from remarking how unique and beautiful "MY" flowers were. I stopped in a few days later to bring something for nothing home for my spouse and met "Dean" who is Pat's son and an owner. This place needs to learn a few things. First, deliver what a family has paid good money for to the funeral home, instead of shorting an arrangement with unapproved substitutions and omissions. Second, when the family returns a centipede-infested corn plant to you and you assure them that you will replace it after speaking to your greenhouse suppliers, do not ignore them for 2 weeks (and counting). Pat, your rudeness and poor attitude is offensive and you are obnoxious and grumpy. You are completely wrong for an industry where you should be more professional and especially compassionate when there is a death in one's family and they bring you a lot of associated business.
