I had a morning appointment but the confirmation text said I could drop it off the night before, so…read moreI did. I was not in a huge hurry but because I had the appointment I expected the windshield to be replaced within a few hours of that time, so I gave it 4 hours and called to check. The person on the phone told me 4 pm but because he did not ask my name, it seemed like he was just making up a time. I stewed on that for a couple of hours and called again only to be put on hold. I hung up after a while on hold and then the local store called me. I told her I was coming to get my car and she said they had it inside now and it would not be driveable. So I found a ride and went in, since I know that it takes them less than an hour to replace a windshield once they start. I understand that many companies are understaffed nowadays. I could even have waited a couple of days if asked. I just wanted someone to admit that a decision had been made to bump me and that I should have been asked first. I expressed that since it was turned into a rush job I am not confident of installation quality, and received a better warranty and a discount for that. But now I have to take it back to have the wipers re-set because they are tangling with each other.

We first called a local place that could immediately only clear out all the glass and replace it with plastic until they could do the actual replacement nearly 3 weeks later. Plus, I would have to go to them. Next, we called SafeLite and they were able to come to my home the very next day and do the replacement for $110 less than the local shop. They took payment from my landscaper over the phone, and the next day a very friendly and capable technician showed up, on time and after keeping me well-updated on his expected arrival time. The only minor 'glitch' (which could be more major for some people) was that during the initial phone call I was offered either an AM time window or a PM one, and I chose the AM one. Later that day, though, a rep called to say they'd have to put me in the PM window because of the need to plan an efficient route. I totally understood, and since I work from home and had no obligations that day, it didn't matter. I highly recommend SafeLite, and though I hope to never need them again, they'll be my first call if I do.

A rock hit my windshield while I was driving north on 295 (and, no, I wasn't anywhere close to the…read morecar in front of me) and left a heck of a ding. I called my insurance, they asked me some questions about the general look of it and its size, then decided to send me to Safelite in Riverton for a patch job. I was asked if I wanted to go in person or have a mobile appointment (I didn't realize until after the fact that they'd COME to ME to fix it! that's cool!). I was able to get an in person appointment immediately, and it took about 45 minutes to get repaired. While the front desk people weren't the friendliest, the technician was! He came out to get me and talk to me about how he repaired it, explained that it wasn't a perfect fix (as in, you can tell a rock hit my windshield but it also kinda looks like some really bad sap got stuck), and to tell me that he couldn't say for sure that I'd pass my next inspection but he did the best he could. This is a nervous five star. YES, my car passed inspection (since the ding is smallish and not within my direct line of sight). BUT, I'm not sure how it'll hold up long term (especially come winter when I have to scrape snow and ice off my car). Supposedly they back their work with a nationwide guarantee on repairs, sooooo I'm sure it'll be fine? For now, thanks guys!
