Saw an ad on Facebook for this great Valentine's Day Gift, Chocolate Covered Strawberries encased…read morein a breakable Chocolate Heart. I reached out to the business and they were super responsive. I asked if they could make it in Dark Chocolate and they were able to! So I placed an order. The shop is a little hard to find but they were quick to answer the call that I was lost. Trust your maps! We picked up the order and it was a hit! The little hammer that's included is such a cute touch. The Dark Chocolate was perfectly sweetened and the Strawberries were ripe and fresh. Definitely recommend based on that, but much more. All of the treats on display looked so delicious and they make them fresh in the back! If you're interested in some sweets, definitely check out Teri's Sweet Garden!!

I have to play it safe and go four stars on this one, even if the pickles deserve a fiver…read more Yeah, I said pickles. Nuclear pickles. They're actually entitled "Red Death Chile Pickles" and I discovered them at -- where else? -- the Southwest Chocolate & Coffee Fest. You know, that's a natural place to sample molten-mouth-melting, um, vinegar cukes. Yeah, random, right? The wife took home a few bars of chocolate. Me? Pickles. But jaysus, those babies have been my breakfast treat -- I'm not kidding -- all week, and I'm infatuated. I'll save the fifth star for a visit to the shop. I'm something of a chocolate snob, and I've yet to find out if Terri has the skillz to pay the billz, but man, those pickles... Killer.

Today is a nice summer day. The sun is shining, the butterflies are flying and I see smiles all…read morearound me I'm walking around Coronado Mall and decide to take my nephew Weezer into FuzziWig's Candy Factory for a sweet candy treat. Whether it be a prepackaged candy bar or their fudge that is out for display. While he is browsing their offerings to fill his sweet tooth craving I decide to pull up my handy dandy Yelp app to get a little more info on this here candy factory. Low and behold..... it's the 2nd business I tried to check into in the mall...only to find out they were not listed. Being the awesome person I am I asked the Candy Stripper (cashier in layman terms) behind the counter if she had a business card so that I can add their business info as I'm sure other Kool Yelpers have frequented this spot while sludging through the trenches of the mall. She was less than enthusiastic about my inquiry even after I asked her if she was aware of the Yelp website. Needless to say she was neither friendly or in anyway personable to any if the patrons I saw in the shop while we walked around. While I don't like being negative or sending out negative vibes I will come back soon and give them another shot. I can only hope they become more sugary and sweet and one would expect the employees to be in a place that normally brings joy and sunshine to young and old alike.... positives: nice candy selection. my nephew picked out a sucker with a grasshopper. oh joy!!!

Buffets Candies is a great place to stop in while in Albuquerque. I am very familiar with Buffets…read moreas the popcorn I absolutely adore is shipped by Buffets. While I usually go to Buffet's Cannery off of 7th, I was hoping to find my popcorn here. They did have a few selections of popcorn, but not the exact flavor I wanted. This store did have a ton of chocolates, including the noted Red Chili brittle. This is delicious and a must have! Buffets has very friendly staff and even offers you a free sample when you enter. Buffets reminds me of what I have seen Candy stores looking like from the 1950s - very retro! It was a blast from the past.

The facility is nice and bright, with a red-and-white theme and pops of starbursts painted on the walls. Displays are not overly crowded, allowing the items to be showcased. I was greeted immediately by an employee and offered a sample of dark chocolate salted caramel. Yum! I was very happy with my purchase (as was my pup). The white chocolate coconut pattie was full of toasted coconut flavor, and the Christmas Mix popcorn with green and red chile cheese flavors never disappoints. I did have to break the frosted dog bone into smaller parts since it was so big, but my dog ate it up. You can order ahead for pickup as well.
