My review is for the pool area and I give it a one start due…read moreto our experience with one of the life guards.I went with my sister and the two kiddos (4&6). There was one other family there with a young girl who played with my daughters. Within 2 minutes the life guard yelled (SCREAMED) at my 6 year old for skipping. I understand there's rules but she even made me jump by how loud she screamed. I reminded my little girls no running or skipping. It was quiet like I said there was one other small family and that's it. There was no chaos so the loud screaming was too much. Two more times this same life guard SCREAMED at my daughter for being in the water that was more shallow and somewhat jumping? That's the best way I can put it but after made a remark to the other life guards saying that they didn't need that today and she wasn't going to put up with it. After that my family along with the other family (who we did not know) were so caught off guard that we gathered our things and left. My kids were not being crazy. They were not loud. They did not run. Every time they were SCREAMED at was in the water (even the skipping was in the shallow end) We respect rules but how she talked to my kids was so unnecessary and ruined the girls experience and had my one daughter in tears. The other family came up to us after and said they have been there many times and never seen that happen before and apologized for them. We all felt second hand embarrassment with how rude this life guard was and all the lifeguards seemed uncomfortable and didn't step in to do or say anything. The slide wasn't running which is fine. My daughter wanted to use the diving board but couldn't because she had googles on which she needs but ok I understand all that. My problem was how rude and mean the lifeguard was to a four and six year old. The pool was completely empty within 20mins of us arriving and leaving with the other random family. I guess she got want she wanted. A empty pool with no work to do. I've never experienced this with a lifeguard in my life. It was pretty extreme. I didn't make a scene because of the children but I will be going back to get her name and take this further.

However with the slide and the diving board the kids had a blast! I like the beach entrance to the pool- however it's not a very big pool. I think that they allow too many Summer Camps/Programs to come all at the same time and it should be limited. The pool was completely packed- I know its summer, but it was very crowded. I also know that with so many Tucson pools closed due to budget this causes this cramped issue, but still there was no swimming what so ever as there was so many kids. EVERYWHERE!! The kids had fun and well i'm just glad to let them cool off in a pool that allows them to have fun on a water slide and jump of a diving board. SO eh and well hey... :)

I went for a taichi class in a big dance, exercise & aerobic studio w wood gym type floors & mirrors . ( I believe it's available to rent ) Big gym , pool , exercise & weight machines , indoor walking track & , walking paths around big soccer fields . Many classes available & a big senior center with so many activities . My parents used to go Sunday nights maybe in summer to hear the Tucson pops? Orchestra outdoor concerts . The senior center even used to have tours available , parents had fun on a trip to Ruidoso NM group stayed at a casino. Lucky to have this inclusive exercise & activity county center facility . Parking available under shaded solar panels .

I parked near the rec center in the covered parking area and used my Strava app to show me the paths. None of these paths were marked. My route was a combination of dirt and paved paths, starting from the rec center and walking south along the paved multi-use trail leading to the Pantano Wash. I passed several sports fields. Most of the fields were well irrigated and green. I then turned east on a wide dirt path along the southern boundary. This was the least scenic section because of homeless camps here, accompanied by the trash the people leave behind. I didn't see any one here, so I felt safe enough to continue. The southern section is for BMX and dirt bikes as dirt trails converse in all directions. I walked north on another wide path back to the more developed area and finished off on the walking path that parallels Tanque Verde Blvd. The entire perimeter was 2.16 miles. I did not go inside the rec center since I had my dog with me, but the center seems to have everything an active family enjoys, including a swimming pool and splash pad. The Farmer's Market is Friday mornings on the north side of the park.

It's really quite amazing and highly underrated and or just not known about so much right now. There are so many different interactive activities for the kids to play with from building, color, changing, weird mirrors, and even some outdoor adventures. Far too much to list and it's way better to experience in person. There's a charge for entry daily, they also have camps and classes, and you can rent out the space for events. There's still more for me to figure out and find out with this place, but will be back for more for sure.

Second Sky is such a cool space! I take my daughter there for the Sunny Studio art classes and we get to enjoy the Second Sky community space afterwards. The space is quite large as is still in the process of being developed with the help of volunteers and community donations. As of now, the space it like a large warehouse....that is air conditioned! There are tables to sit and hag out, a concessions/snack stand and various interactive indoor activities, such as scooters, a cozy corner that is like a little library with books and couches, digital art and S.T.E.A.M. interactive exhibits. Outside they have the adventure playground that is really incredible! It's also a non-profit with the goal to create a space that serves the whole community. Their big picture, long-term plan is amazing. I've copied/pasted this following information from their digital booklet: "A shaded outdoor adventure playground for hands-on S.T.E.A.M. learning across multiple ages. there are several great hikes here: 1. Up and down the tram…read moreroad - great if you want to walk on pavement 2. Phoneline - ride the tram to the top and hike down. Tough on the knees. 3. Blackett's Ridge: scenic shorter & steeper - good option if you ware limited on time. 4. Seven Falls: best waterfall in Southern AZ when there's water. Check before you hike as it's not a great hike if there's no falls. 5. Take the tram to the end and hike up and over to Hutch's Pool. Take the tram down. For the adventurous types. The tram is worth doing if you aren't going to hike up. You'll learn a lot from the headphone lecture. This is a must-see if you are visiting Tucson.

Worst are uncontrolled kids who visit the pools. Most kids are well behaved. There are a few that let loose to be wild. They have a huge catalog of classes that are inexpensive. Easy 30 min drive to some locations in Tucson. Affordable housing.

The lap lanes have extended farther into the pool area, closing off the deeper end of the pool, and reducing the available areas to only a small shallow section. Very disappointing. It's all good if that's how you want to run your operation, but you are misleading the public with these restrictions. Whoever is overseeing this should provide accurate information outside of the building and online.
