I really wanted the good reviews to be true and give me a relief I have a good trustworthy CPA for the rest of my life. However, my experience was really bad. First of all, he was late for our appointment. He apologized and I was cool with it. Then he made a lot of bad comments about my country of Origin. I asked him to stop talking about it. He apologized and stopped. But he kept talking about all other random stuff that didn't have anything to do with taxes like what is my laptop model, if my green card lawyer was good, stories from his family in his country Pakistan and so on. When paying for the session he considered start to finish, so technically I paid for the time he took to tell his personal stories!

I filled out our tax forms on TurboTax first to compare to his results. He has saved us thousands of dollars each year. We can't afford to have me fill out our tax forms any more. His fees are very reasonable. We paid four times as much for a CPA in Eugene to fill out our tax forms years ago. But this Eugene CPA had an office next to a golf course. Mr. Irtifa's office in Beaverton is very unassuming. I do chit-chat with Mr. Irtifa as we go through my tax information. He has referred me to several local professionals, like lawyers, that solved other problems I was working on. By chatting with other clients I know he hears who is good and who is not. I appreciate being able to pick his brain for advice as we go through my tax information. He has taken the time mid-year to give us investment advice when we asked. I have also given him advice on topics I feel passionate about, which he accepted graciously. If you want a very formal CPA, you should go to someone else. Mr. Irtifa worked for the IRS for a number of years so I trust him when he advises me on how to answer an ambiguous tax question. Mr. Irtifa can get behind on his appointments during the day. I just remind myself that when it is my turn he will take as long as I need to get my tax forms filled out correctly and my questions answered. I am glad we found him.

Since he is so busy with work, he has never been able to spend time making sure things are going correctly with bookkeeping or taxes. I got in and was able to and that when we started noticing how much this company lacks. I have been blamed multiple times for what is lacking for this CPA business. Their first bookkeeper wasnt doing things right so everything got really behind. They hire a new one and she has to play catch up which puts all of his clients behind. She was the only good thing about this business. We had to file an extension because they couldnt have things done on time, we waited over 7 months for them to fix an issue with filing that werent done right and we were being penalized for. Anytime you need to actually talk to Kevin, he never responds and just assumes someone else is. No one know what is going on, ever. They had multiple system changes that affected quickbooks so made things extremely difficult. If I could charge him for how much time I had to spend on things that they are supposed to be doing, we wouldnt have a bill from them. Most of the time no one is even there. He was able to easily…read morecommunicate the steps that we would take including which documents he required, how to securely provide them digitally, and he provided a very accurate estimate of how long the expected work would take. The whole process went smoothly. Steve would let me know whenever he needed an additional document that I didn't initially provide, or a signature on some new forms. The whole process of transferring documents back and forth in a secure system went was very convenient. I had several questions along the way and Steve always seemed happy to address any and all of them without any issues. Taxes are always intimidating to me and I never look forward to doing them. So it was refreshing to be able to work with Steve, who just really made the entire process pretty stress free. Overcharged and underdelivered. 2025 was our first (and…read morelast) year filing with PNW. We provided a well-organized packet of documents, which was commented on when we dropped them off. Then 3 days later was instructed to complete a very detailed filing questionnaire and instructions that our return would not be filed on time without if. We would have been fine with that if this was explained ahead of time instead of so close to 4/15. The filing review meeting was rushed and average. No tax strategies were explored for that year nor any tangible actions for the next year. Then we were given the bill which was over $2,000. Our 2024 filing was nearly a 3rd of that amount and experiences with our long-term preparer from 2006 - 2023 (who retired) was less a 1/4 for 2023. Both were professional tax advisors, and we had no major changes to our finances. We asked why it was so high and were given no plausible answer other than that is what they charge. I don't believe the Porsche's in their parking lot belong to clients. Lastly, very odd, the door to their office looked like we were entering an amateur workshop. We had concerns their premises were secure.
