I honestly got this place mixed up when talking to my Insurance and looking for a place in-network. I am not as familiar with the area and health systems yet, so I assumed this was UC-Davis affiliated. My fast mistake! I came in for a terrible cough due to some new allergies developed since living here in CA. I couldn't sleep or function well during the day; it was non-stop tickling to the back of my throat that I've never previously experienced. I got to the office. Visit was probably less than 5 minutes post paperwork. I was prescribed Flonase. This did not address my issue at all. Another restless night would soon follow. I ended up going to my primary care. What a waste of time, energy, and money! The office doesn't answer you, let alone care about your complaints. So, I have voiced them here instead for your reading pleasure. This is the second time I have been to Davis Urgent Care. I cannot tell you how much I dread going to the doctors. But, both times Margarita Bautista, PA, put me at ease and actually made me laugh while at the same time being very informative and professional. So appreciated. Went in thinking I had contracted an infection after a biopsy on my thyroid and was hoping to get some antibiotics to nip it in the bud. The doctor was convinced I had strep throat even though I didn't even have a sore throat and the rapid strep test came back negative. I explained again what I was feeling and what I thought it was, and she said she wanted to do another strep test. I told her no, so she told me to just "keep an eye on the symptoms and see if they get worse" and sent me home. 24 hours later I was in the hospital, septic, with a thyroid infection. It was very frustrating to not be listened to or taken seriously at all, as well as just being a waste of time and money. read more

If I would give ZERO stars I could. I called before heading here to double check they take my insurance. When they confirmed they did...I went. I took my one-year-old son with a high fever. The guy at the front desk said they wouldn't see my son because his insurance indicated that he was assigned to a clinic in Winters. When I told him that he is a patient at Woodland Healthcare and not Winters he said it didn't matter because thE card needed to show that because "he cant access the website" if he's not assigned to Woodland. Which I thinks is hilarious because I know for a fact that if you enter the member ID number on the insurance website it will definitely tell you who they are assigned to, I work in healthcare as well so I know this. Then he said he could be seen with $120 which I wasn't about to pay when he is fully covered. He just didn't want to take two minutes of his precious time to check his eligibility and where he is assigned to. This place sucks! read more

VERY HAPPY! I hurt my back to the point I couldn't bare the pain. I'm a guy and would normally just tuff it out especially since I am newly self employed and didnt have medical insurance yet. I walked in and was politely and professionally greeted. I explained what was going on with me to the girl at the front desk and also inquired about pricing since I was uninsured. $120 to see the doctor plus any X-rays or testing would of course be extra. The doctor very professional, polite, and easy to talk to was very sympathetic to both my pain and my having no insurance and she concluded that no xray would be necessary and that is was not my back but a sprained rib or pulled muscle. I happy to hear it was not my back. Only $120 out the door. I expected to pay 2-3 times that. Phew. I left feeling confident that 3-5 days of rest and I would be good as new. It's been about 2 weeks and I am 95%. Thanks Doc! I really appreciate it. read more

I got into a really bad biking accident about a month ago and had to visit this place. They were extremely helpful over the phone and very friendly when I got there. I didn't wait long before I filled out the new patient info and was seen shortly after. The staff and technicians were nice and chatty. The doctor was also helpful with all my questions and concerns. FANTASTIC! We came on a Monday afternoon and were welcomed cheerfully, helped very quickly and seen with the greatest of care. It was MUCH faster than going to the doctor, FAR less stressful and they took our insurance. Would highly recommend and would come here again for a last minute emergency vs. trying to squeeze into the doctors office. The facility was also super clean and well stocked. THANK YOU! read more

As pleasant as an Urgent Care visit could have been. Very quick, they took my insurance so only a 20$ co pay was needed with my photo id and insurance card. I didn't wait more than 5-10 minutes and was out with a script in less than 30 minutes or so. Very clean and professional facility, I was very thankful they were there. read more

The service here is awful. I went here and it was completely empty, however, I still waited 40 minutes while I was sick to my stomach. They didn't know how to help me, they did not have the proper tests to rule out certain things, and the physicians assistant helping me didn't understand what was wrong with me. I left their care feeling just as bad as I came and would not recommend this office to anyone. I will not be returning and would rather pay the fee to go to Emergency Care than go here again. read more

Why did go? I went to DUC after experiencing the WORST symptoms for what I thought was a "head cold". Valerie Venghiattis PA-C was not only knowledgeable, reassuring, empathetic but quick to identify the root of my general malaise: Seasonal Allergy also known as "Hay Fever". My general experience: The clinic was well equipped, clean, quiet and peaceful. Greeted by Sandra and overall very attentive and professional staff. The doctor: It was my perception that the physician was really "there for me'. She was so enthusiastic about deciphering what I had that just watching her made me feel hopeful -. One of the worst experiences ever. Waited two hours with only one person in there. The staff is not friendly, and nothing is explained. The people at the front desk are so rude, I am shocked these are actual healthcare professionals. UC Davis should be ashamed to refer students here. The fact that UC Davis urgent/acute care never has any availability seems so convenient for Davis Urgent care as I'm sure a lot of their patients are students that cannot be seen at the campus medical center. I would probably only go here again if my life depended on it - literally. read more

This was a VERY disappointing experience. i took my 92 yr old mother to Davis Urgent Care because she had a growth on her arm. The (so called) doctor there didn't have a clue as to what it could be and threw an antibiotic prescription at it. On top of that he refused to listen to what we had to say about it regarding the length it had been there, etc. Turns out when i finally got my mother to a real doctor, it's a cancer that needs to be removed immediately! i would not recommend this place for any reason. I've had good and bad experiences here. My first time coming was great, and it was with the head doctor that works there, he checked everything for a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics that really helped. My second time going in was awful, young guy that acted like he didn't know what he was doing, for the first time ever going to a doctor he didn't check my lungs, which having many sinus infections, I prefer them to listen just to make sure. He kept asking my symptom questions over and over like he didn't hear me or care to listen the first time. He didn't tell me what my diagnosis was, all he said was "it's viral" didn't know what was the viral infection I had. All he did was tell me to buy afrin and that's it. I went back because I still had symptoms and that last physicians assistant told me the visit would be free within 10 days, well that was a lie, it was $70, although they waved it for me because the free followup he told me, I had in typed documents he gave to me. The doctor I saw that time was very thourough and very sweet. She told me she never recommends afrin, unless you're on an airplane. She immediately said you have a sinus infection (which I figured out), im just glad she didn't just say oh it's viral (and have no clue what viral infection I have) she prescribed sudafed and antibiotics. read more

The first thing that I noticed was how clean and new the facility was. The front receptionist was friendly and professional. I had no wait time. Completed necessary paperwork and taken right back. Dr. Allen Lin was excellent!! I live 300 miles away and truly appreciated having access to thoughtful medical care. This was 7 days ago. I called today with some questions. My husband went to Davis Urgent Care due to some pain from a car accident. We were impressed that the PA carefully evaluated the location of his pain and told us it's his muscles and we felt much relieved. He didn't have to have unnecessary x-ray. We felt the PA is experienced and confident. She explained why she thought it was not a fracture. The place seemed new and clean and there was no wait time. I am glad we have a choice in Davis now so that even though it happened Sunday evening, we don't have to go to ER. read more

I have had a problem with my left shoulder and arm for a month. After visiting another urgent care, a chiropractor, and another doctor, this place was the absolute best. The staff was knowledgeable, listened, and prescribed me a treatment plan as if I was a family member. I highly recommended this urgent care! read more
