Just wanted to add my own one star review to this list. We tried to use Home Depot to replace an interior door, and they contract with Davos for measurements and installations. After four no shows (with no calls back to explain or reschedule until we reached out on multiple occasions), we decided to move on and find someone else. I agree with Dawn D. Lowes needs to get rid of them. It has been a nightmare trying to get Davos to be accountable. They don't return phone calls and could care less about your concerns or time. Lots of broken promises. Stay away from them! read more

Ordered an install through Loews about a month ago and after a dozen or more calls from me and Loews still nothing. it took a few calls to Loews just to get them to look measure. Absolutely horrible experience. Cancelled on me 3x (never called me, I called them after waiting). Consistently promised call back for reschedules, never happened. Very frustrating that you plan out time out of your week for something to be ditched and not even called to apologize, instead made up lies and excuses. read more

Somehow these guys have the contact with Lowes AND Home Depot to do doors. Went to HD and were told '2 weeks to get a call to schedule, 2 more weeks to the actual appointment'. 6 weeks later and several escalations, including attempts at contacting the company directly, still zero response. Cancelled that order and went to Lowes. Another 8 weeks and several escalations it is revealed that their contractor is THE SAME TERRIBLE COMPANY that HD is contracted with. No idea what their actual work looks like, if they even actually do any work. read more

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! They are not proffesionals! I recently purchased a front from door from Home Depot and mistakenly used their contractor. They did a terrible job. The door does not close properly and blows open with any wind unless it's locked. Then they told me it was the best I was going to get. It was a shoddy job at best. STAY AWAY! Cant even give a star but had to in order to post a review. Like most would give negative stars. How dare Lowes Use this company for their installation services. Having a storm door installed is ridiculous process.. First of all, they took almost 2 weeks to come out and measure for the installation. Second, and I should have known at this point something was wrong but the sub contractor lost the measurements and when I called to see if they were done Lowes informed me they were not and reached out to them once again. The sub contractor called me saying he was headed over there "now" to measure. I said well wait supposedly you already were there and his reply was that he lost his measurements. So there goes another week of not being able to schedule the install. This all Started March 22, 2018. After Lowes reached out to the installer because of all the leg work we were doing on our end, the installer who called said he'd move some things around in order to meet my promised install date of May 19, 2018. He scheduled May 17th. I never heard back even the day before so I called to confirm my own appt and good thing. According the person I was directed to who answered her professional business call with a simple "hello" she said oh was "........"your installer? I said I have no idea, but your company scheduled an appt. and I am confirming that appt. She said unfortunately he had quit and did not leave them with a list of the jobs he was working on or had scheduled and she was able to reach out to most but not all because she had no list. They get emails of all their jobs from the Stores. Their workflow shouldn't matter to me when I have a scheduled appt. The fact they lost an employee shouldn't affect the consumer. However it all does. She said when calling me back someone would be there between 8-10 on scheduled day. I thanked her. So sorry I had because that evening I got a call from the installer saying he would not be there during that time frame but he could be there at some point that day. "SOME POINT" Are we serious. I told him he nor this company loses out it is the person on the other end waiting and taking time off to be there to approve merchandise and services ALREADY PAID FOR! He wanted me to be sympathetic for their situation of losing an installer. I said To be honest I wouldnt want to be in your shoes however that stays at the level of his business and shouldn't trickle to me. Especially when I have Chased this company to set up this install to begin with. Why am I doing that, I don't work for LOWES. I'm the Consumer. He then said well he has an appt at 2 and would be there before then. We left it at that. Then this am, the day of my supposed install I get a call Cancelling!!!!!! Cancelling! The funny part was when he called to cancel, he said "Hi, This is Chris form Home Depot". My order was from the other big store, pay attention! My front porch is covered. Its a storm door on a covered front porch. Are we pre-madonnas who cant feel mist of their face? Their tools would not get wet. No excuse. This is how it is making it right for the consumer? This is their idea of how they put the customer first. Upon a call back by me, the installer HUNG UP on me after a brief discussion on trying to come the next day to do install and his excuse was he had scheduled appts already. So my appt was not even considered. These people are crooks. They get their money up front when we pay LOWES for Installation of materials, yet we do not get the service that comes with that. Oh and FYI Home Depot uses this subcontractor as well. STAY AWAY. Its May 17. Still no Door installed. HOME DEPOT AND LOWES need to re-evaluate who they use for their subcontracting services. read more

Agreed with everyone else here. Lowe's needs new contractors. Door installed improperly. Took 3 weeks to come fix it. Arrived outside of scheduled time so I ended up taking time out of work needlessly. Damaged the new door handle while fixing the door. When the error was pointed out. Was told by worker that aluminum doesn't rust and to put nail polish on it. When I stated that Aluminum doesn't rust but it can corrode, contractor then picked up equipment and sped off screeching tires. read more

Were supposed to be at house today between 9 and 11 to install a door. Called at 11 to find out where they are having read all the reviews. Was told they were at Lowes getting the materials. How about a call to let the homeowner know they won't show on time? A little customer service goes a long way. read more

Less than one star for this company! We had a wonderful experience in the past using a home depot contractor and were expecting the same to get our new storm door installed, but we did not realize that home depot changed contractors to Davos recently. Davos installed a storm door in April and the closer was not working. It is now August and they have come out 2x and ordered 2 new parts and have cancelled appointments and now say they will come back out between now and November to install the new piece. Not only are we waiting for months to fix our door that now slams shut, but the Davos installers were very rude and unprofessional when they installed the door. Everyone we tell about our door says they cannot imagine that this closer part could be faulty or that the replacement could be faulty and that something else is going on (such as the installers are the problem). Called home depot and they say that this is the only company they contract with and that the company covers 33 stores. So we are stuck with them. Hopefully enough people will complain so home depot will get rid of Davos and get back the wonderful installer we had previously. As the other reviewers suggested, get a handy person to install the door if the home depot is using contracts with Davos and you will save yourself a lot of frustration. read more

I was made aware of these postings about this company. I'm quite familiar with Davos and their terrible reputation. I've done business with HD for more than 30 years and still do in Maine, NH, Ma. I have some houses on Cape Cod. For the heck of it, I put this to the test and had an employee order a new storm door for one of the houses and sure enough it went right to Davos for install. I cancelled the order and called the store manager (first name basis at most storesl) seeking an alternative. He has no sway. I'll deal with corporate on this. Could take several weeks to several months but i'll have my office stay with it. It's the principle of course. I don't do business with people like this. Disreputable companies who don't care about their customers should be run out of town. In the meantime, anyone thinking of doing installations with HD involving this company should not place orders there. Lowes in Wareham and other locations better have an alternative. If not, same thing applies. read more

As a former sub-contractor for Davos ,I can honestly say they are the worst contractors I have ever dealt with in my 30 years in this business.They do not care about the quality of there work, the contractors that work for them,or Home Depots customers.I only worked for them a short time during the recession.I had to leave because unlike them I actually care about my customers and giving them a quality job.Once I told them I could not work for them anymore, they did not pay me for jobs that were completed. They are unprofessional to say the least, and truly a embarrassment to this industry ! read more

I can't even give this company one star! I hired them through Home Depot to install closet doors. I had to chase them to come out and measure (which is a paid service), then had to chase them for weeks to get an install date. After complaining to Home Depot on multiple occasions they finally called to schedule and guess what? They were a no show. I took a day off from work (not easy to do) and they called about an hour before they were supposed to show up to say they were cancelling. I called the owner Paul to complain and he promised to send another person out. Called Home Depot to fill them in and when store manager called to inquire he was told they would send a different person out that day as well. They lied to both of us. When I called to ask about the whereabouts of the replacement, the snottiest woman I have ever encountered said that Home Depot misinformed me and that they would not be coming. When I told her that I had received the same information from her boss Paul earlier in the day I really flummoxed her. She got even uglier. I got really mad and couldn't believe she had the nerve to outright lie and I ended up cancelling because I did not want to deal with them any more. This is the most unprofessional contractor I have ever dealt with. Not only are they unappreciative of your business, they tell outright lies. Beware! If you buy doors from Home Depot and you want them installed, chances are you are going to get Davos Contracting and they are awful to deal with. Furthermore if you are having anything installed on the second floor, they want extra money to carry the doors up the stairs, even if there are three stairs. Really? Do yourself a favor and find a handyman to hang your doors. He will probably appreciate the work and treat you better than these people ever will. They have a really bad attitude and not a clue as to how to run a business. Things happen but when you make people chase you and you cancel last minute on top of having a snotty person on the phones...well, just save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere read more
