ZERO STARS!!! The negligence of the groomer in this place KILLED my dog MAX. The groomer did not secure him and let him into food she kept there for her own dogs. He gorged on it, he had allergic bloated within hours and suffered a stomach torsion. She lied to hide her negligence when I ran to her frantic to get the details of the food he ate while he was there. Told me what she fed her dogs but that she never had any on the premisses.. kept lying when I went to Smiths and bought a bag of what she said she fed her dogs (Beneful) and proved he ate the same stuff. Kept lying when I went back a third time (while my boy was fighting for his life at the ER) and presented her with her dry food and a bag of the 'evidence' my boy vomited undigested. I have no words for how devastating this was for my family and mostly Max. My baby suffered agony and because of the time she wasted lying to me and my vet to save her own ass... my dog ran out of time. As a consequence Max had be put to sleep 12 hours after collecting him from his "groom'. Thank god my other 2 dogs she had that day were unharmed. I will NEVER get over the trauma leaving him there and paying and tipping that woman to essentially end his life in 2017 at the age of 7. Adding insult to injury I received a phone call from them recently offering me a discount grooming package for my dead dog. I explained why I would never bring a living creature back there, only to receive 3 further 'individual' calls that day with the same offer for every one of my pets they didn't manage to kill but had on their books. Took my dog in for a haircut, 3 hours later I called to see if he was done I was told he peed in his kennel so they had to wash him that would be 45 more minutes. I told her he's never done that before ever!! Didn't hear anything so my husband shows up 1 hour later and my dog is soaking wet! They told him it would be 10 minutes to dry him off because he peed again. What? So my husband took him out to pee and noticed his foot was bleeding so back in he goes and they wrap his foot up with the excuse he must have cut it in the kennel. Well on the way home he's bleeding everywhere, we later find out its from his tongue that is split. I call the vet rush him in and he has to have surgery to repair his tongue. I believe they used the pending excuse to keep us away so they could stop his bleeding. Also he didn't even smell like he was shampooed. Never never again!! read more

If this would allow me to rate them a ZERO, I would! We've tried this place too many times and each time we've been just as unsatisfied. We have a Shiatsu that we've asked to have cute in the Teddy Bear style. Two times out of three, they've shaved him all the way down. This last time we took him, he wasn't as bad, but his face was completely uneven and I had to even him out when I got him home. Once when I went in, one employee was working and she'd brought her kids in. Her son was crying uncontrollably and she was sitting on the floor holding him super tight. She never even acknowledged I was there. Today, my daughter inadvertently took our dog to them, thinking they were the groomers I'd made the appointment with. She walked in and heard a lot of commotion in the back. She described it as if a dog was being tossed about. Shortly after, a small dog ran out of the back room dragging its leash and headed for the door. She said the dog had wild eyes and looked frightened. The groomer, grabbed the dog and said, "she needed to call the owner to come get the stupid dog. She couldn't deal with a dog like him today.".My daughter got in the car and immediately called me. She was upset and out of breath. She asked if I liked this place and if I felt comfortable leaving our dog there. That's when we realized she'd dropped the dog off at the wrong groomers. She went in and admitted her mistake and asked for the dog back. The girl stomped off to the back, and with our dog in hand, shoved the dog toward my daughter, who was holding a baby seat and diaper bag. After our dog was dropped off to the correct groomers, my daughter called and said how relieved she was that we hadn't left our dog at Dawg Gone! Unfortunately, she didn't get the girls name, but said the gal was on the younger side, had highlights in her hair and covered in tattoos. There was also a guy sitting in the back that appeared to be under the influence of some kind. She wasn't sure if he was an employee or a friend of the "groomer". No matter how close this place is to my house, or how convenient it might be, I'll never take a pet there again. They've been given too many chances to screw up and they haven't dissapointed!! I would actually give a "0" star rating if that was even possible. I hate this place, they are THE WORST DOG GROOMER EVER! I usually take my dog, a pomeranian, to Petsmart on 12th street in Ogden to get groomed. Never have had an issue, but was going on maternity leave for 12 weeks and wanted something slightly cheaper. Well, I guess the old saying is true. You get what you pay for. I specifically told them when I scheduled his appt that we do not use "blades or shavers" on my dog, just to hand scissor his coat to barely round out the stray hairs. When my husband dropped him off, they told him it would be 3-4 hours before he was ready. They called us 1 hour later and informed us he was ready. When I went to pick him up, he was completely unrecognizable. "Kaysha" was the groomer that had groomed him that day, if you can even call her that. I'm positive a kindergartener would have done a better job on my dog. She had used a blade to shave down his coat, and he stunk like wet dog. I'm pretty sure she didn't even bathe him. When I got him home, I had to bathe him myself...just what I wasn't planning on doing 10 days after having a baby, and after paying the groomer he had just been at. While bathing him, he would duck in fear any time I tried to touch his head or ears. He usually is the most friendly, happy dog that isn't scared of anything. Appalled, I called and requested a refund. Kaysha informed me that the owner "usually" didn't give refunds. The owner wasn't in that day, and i asked if she could have him call me. A week later, after me calling almost every day, I finally got ahold of the owner. Surprise...he had never gotten the message. He told me he would give me a refund and to stop in. I did, and also brought my dog to show him, but he had conveniently left for the day. The groomers were in the middle of trimming another dog's nails and cut him down too far and he started to bleed. His owner was an elderly woman, she said she was going out to her car to get money to pay, and also to tip. I told her, "I would not tip if I were you" and got my refund from Kaysha and left. A few minutes later, I received a voicemail on my phone from "Kaysha" telling me to "Not ever return to their place of business or call after what I had pulled, or they would call the police." This place is completely ridiculous and unprofessional, especially Kaysha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on this horrible place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Do your pets a huge favor and stay far away from this place...The owner is mean to the animals and does a horrible job grooming! They cut our dog and made her bleed in 4 different places, shaved her little face and neck bare and cut her ears to look like mouse ears. The groomer told us she was a bad dog and they did the best they could do. She is a 16 year old Shih Tzu and has NEVER had a grooming this horrible! read more

A bad review was left after some mis communication. I took my dog in understanding that she just needed a trim. My dog is a golden doodle and I'm a newer doodle owner. I took her in asking for a trim and style. The salon called me and told me her fur is extremely matted, it would be best to shave her down and style her head...then after waiting two weeks or so, we can start giving her a personalized style. The salon also offered to give me tips on better taking care of her coat, knowing they may not see her as much. That was was greatly appreciated. The dog came from a previous owner that didn't fully understand how to go about proper grooming. Which, when I got the dog, resulted in an immediate grooming appointment. The owner called me personally and I went over the situation with him. I will happily trust any dog groomer that will give me style and grooming tips. That is a great way to start a business/client relationship. When it comes time for family photos, I'll definitely trust Dawg Gone to make my dog picture ready! read more

They have cleaned both my dogs and they have helped a lot with their skins irratations it's getting better .
