We met Dawn the day of our wedding, she was recommended by the hotel for our elopement. To be honest, I was not very excited about taking photos. I take a lot of photos for work and I knew we would want them but it felt like something I wanted to get over with before we could party. DAWN MADE OUR PHOTOS SO MUCH FUN IT ENDED UP BEING MY FAVORITE PART OF THE DAY. The whole session felt like an adventure. I will start this review honest. I know Dawn personally. However, she flew to Oregon to photograph our wedding. Regardless of knowing her or not this review is not bias. It has been fun to watch Dawn's photos on her Facebook page leading up to our wedding. We asked her to do our wedding about 15-18 months in advance. At first it was a dream to have her but it actually worked out to where she could come to Oregon. She was super attentive at our wedding and worked non stop to get the photographs that we desired. She is VERY friendly but the right amount of "bossy" to get that perfect shot. As of now we have only got the sneak peaks (not complaining) but we LOVE what we see so far. Although she is super busy she has a great response time. We can't wait for a Hawaii trip to have her take some photographs of us. We (my wife and I) highly recommend her. read more

Yes Dawn is extremely good at what she does! We had an amazing wedding at a beach and she captured perfect shots at perfect moments including sunset and sea turtles! She knows her surroundings and knows how to incorporate that into photos with her clients. I was impressed that she slung two cameras around her neck and could switch back and forth fluidly for the different lens options. The final shots came out great! I didn't meet Dawn until the day before my wedding. She flew to Oregon to photograph our big day, based on a fairly casual friendship with my now husband. I'll admit to being a little nervous; Oregon doesn't have naturally gorgeous backdrops like Hawaii & it's a much different climate. Also, as a bride it was nerve wracking having only conversed with our photographer a few times. That's not to say Dawn was unwilling to talk; once she even took my call minutes after she finished another event. She's easy to talk to, kind, reassuring and wonderful. As for my experience with her: Dawn blew my hopes out of the water. She quickly became not only our photographer, but a general directing troops wedding day (in the best possible way) and finally a confident I could talk to when our huge wedding overwhelmed me for a minute. She handled our drunken bridesmaid, our whiny dog & our huge wedding party with grace, poise & professionalism. She gave us edited sneak peeks the night of the wedding. And they are AMAZING! Looking at my pictures I see the love I hold for my husband, perfectly captured more beautifully than I could have imagined. I found Dawn through a google search and reached out to Dawn about a family photo session on the big island. You see, this was the first vacation my family has taken in a long time together (parents, sister, spouses and kids). I wanted to have someone capture some incredible memories for my family and me. Absolutely flawless experience. To begin, Dawn was extremely flexible with location, price, etc., ensuring we were receiving service that satisfied our unique needs. Then, there was a SHARK in the water on our big day, shutting down our beach location and causing a lot of added stress. Dawn still made it happen! Photo shoot in mid-January 2020 in Kona, HI A last minute thought during our multi-generational family vacation, I reached out to Dawn just a few days before we were leaving Kona and she responded immediately. A little bit of coordination and we were able to set something up quickly. I hired her based on her website and reviews and was not at all disappointed. We ended up doing an evening shoot at the Old Airport in Kona--phenomenal location. Our 1h shoot got us varied sets of photos--in the grove, tidepools and sunset. She had the photo shoot extremely well timed but we never felt rushed. She had some wonderful suggestions and her website helped us frame the time for our shoot. Our crazy family of ten recently vacationed in Kona. With work related schedules, the kids flew in and out of Kona. I live out of town and was on my first trip to the Big Island and Dawn was so helpful with finding the location.
