Our family scheduled a beach photo session with Hannah in April 2023 based upon yelp reviews and photography samples. We were very excited to have some of the beautiful beach photos similar to those exhibited on her yelp page and website. Unfortunately, during our session it began pouring rain on us. I recalled signing an agreement that Hannah was not responsible for the outcome of the photos if there were forces outside of her control. I must admit that I was very disappointed in this being the case because I just couldn't see a way for the photos to turn out nice. Hannah and our family endured the process. She remained quite lively and did a great job at getting the family smile given the circumstances. I left the session feeling like I had just lit my hard earned money on fire. My family & I have worked with Hannah twice now & we are looking forward to working with her again. For starters, booking with her was easy & organized. Hannah captured our nine family members in celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary on the Kohala Coast. If you want to know the details read on... We hired Hannah to do a family photoshoot for my family of four. I selected Hannah because the portfolio she has presented on her website was consistent... all photos had great composition, was sharp and made well use of the available lighting. In addition, her rates were very competitive with other photographers in the area. Once we booked our photoshoot with Hannah, we paid a deposit via venmo. Shortly thereafter, she emailed us very helpful information such as tips what to expect in a photoshoot and how to dress. She also provided a questionnaire that my family which should be filled out before the photoshoot which is a very good idea. The questions Hannah included were to give her a better understanding of what we the client expected from the photoshoot... ie more portraits vs candids, group shots, solo shots etc. Also the questions in the questionnaire gives Hannah some information about your family before the photo session so she has a better understanding on how to best effectively work with the family for an optimal photoshoot. Regarding the location of the photoshoot, I left it up to Hannah to decide on the location of the photoshoot. She selected a beach near the Old Kona Airport. I'd highly recommend letting Hannah select the site of a photoshoot as she would be more familiar with the area in terms of the composition and lighting of the pictures she takes. This is important because most photo sessions are about 45 min to an hour so if she is familiar with an area she will spend less time thinking about the pictures she wants to take and spend more time taking pictures of you! On the day of the photoshoot Hannah arrived right on time and the meeting spot was easy to find. Hannah was very friendly and from the questionnaire she remembered all the names of the members of my family. My family found her very easy to work with and directed us how to pose for the pictures. The poses Hannah put is in felt very natural leading to wonderful looking portraits and candids. After the end of the photoshoot Hannah told us that she would email us some "teaser" photos within a week and all the photos (my package included 30) within 3-4 weeks. We are still waiting for our final set of photos, but Hannah was able to deliver our "teaser" photos a day after our photoshoot! Out teaser gallery ended up being around 15 FANTISTIC PICTURES! In conclusion... if you are looking for a photographer in the Kona/Waikaloa area don't hesitate to contact Hannah. She is a true professional, her work is phenomenal, prices are competitive and she's a super easy-going person! On last tip... if you are considering hiring Hannah don't hesitate and secure your session asap! We were in the Kona area for 5 days and out of those five days she was booked 4 of the 5 days and we booked Hannah about a month before our trip. read more

We had 11 in our group as we were all in Kona to celebrate the golden anniversary of my in-laws. I took a chance on Hannah as I couldn't find anyone via word of mouth. What a great decision! She handled both our large group and our requests for different combinations of individuals really well. There is a small window of time where the sunset provides some beautiful lighting so with such a large group it's easy to feel rushed but Hannah was really great at navigating that without us feeling pressured. I would just advise anyone wanting to book her to really understand what you will be getting (how many photos, printing options, etc.) for the price and to ask all questions before the shoot. And if you have sensitive feet, you may want to take some shoes to wear all the way up until you need to take them off for the photos.
