We stopped yesterday late evening and my daughter ordered a Peach Oolong Tea with lychee jelly. We all tried it and immediately fell in love with it! The flavor was so refreshing and perfectly balanced and especially loved that it came with an actual tea bag inside, it really made it feel like a quality tea experience. As former Bay Area boba addicts (BobArea), we've had our fair share of boba and tea drinks over the years, so we're not easily impressed. This one was exceptional. We couldn't stop thinking about it, so we came back the very next morning and ordered three of the exact same drinks! That's probably the best endorsement we can give. While traveling through Oregon, I stumbled upon Day & Night, and I came specifically for their bubble tea. What caught my attention right away was that the menu actually includes Chinese items, not just generic bubble tea flavors. The owner is Chinese and very friendly, which instantly made me feel like I was in the right place. I tried the green grape boba tea, and it was delicious--very well balanced. You can really taste the tea, and the grape flavor is fresh and not overly sweet at all. Super refreshing. I also had the mango sago (楊枝甘露), which paired beautifully with the coconut. Again, not too sweet, which I really appreciated. It would be perfect if there were mango chunks, but overall it was still very satisfying. Walk in and you realize that you are looking at one of the best selections of bubble teas including classic Boba but also neo-traditional pairings like Matcha with red bean, etc. that deserve respect. In the big bowl with the big spoon there were: several slices of thick and tender cooked pork, dried seaweed, soft boiled egg sliced in half -- some places only give you half the egg; like that they keep the whole -- with good portion of corn and chopped green onions. There are a few things that I love-tonkotsu ramen and boba. And when I saw this moved-to-a-new-location and expanded place, I knew I had to try. Good service, but not much ambiance. Good decor showing off the boba offerings. Most boba teas/milk teas can be very sweet, but the Hong Kong style milk tea (even with added boba) is not as super sweet, and would be a good choice for someone that wants a less dessert-like boba/milk tea. The tonkotsu ramen was actually quite good. So far, I have only come across 2 places that have tonkotsu ramen-Tokyo Tonkatsu and this place. Both places have their pros and cons with their tonkotsu ramen. If I had to rank the tonkotsu ramens, it's almost a tie between Tokyo Tonkotsu and this place. read more

We visited Day & Night Boba Tea House for an after lunch treat. It's one of the few boba shops I've ever seen that serves Hong Kong Style Milk Tea with boba as a topping. That's something that I definitely can't pass up! Hong Kong Style Milk Tea, Large, Light Ice w/ Boba ($6.50) - This drink is premixed, so the sweetness level can't be adjusted. They use a somewhat fragrant Ceylon as the base and seem to add copious amounts of condensed milk for sweetness and creaminess. It's almost excessive, causing the milk taste to reign supreme and diluting out the tea flavor a bit, although the milk tea is still a pleasingly dark brown color. The bobarista told us that while the sweetness can't be adjusted, the drink wouldn't be too sweet. I'd say it's probably somewhere between 50% and 75% sweet as compared to other boba shops - a bit too much for me, but not cloying. I think due to the missing tea complexity and strong milky flavor, it maybe tastes more similar to a teh tarik than a HK style tea, especially since I suspect the use of condensed milk instead of evaporated milk. The ice level is appropriate for the drink, melting completely over time but not diluting the taste of the drink much. The boba is kind of too firm, leaving the pearls only decently chewy and bouncy. The pearls are mostly smooth with some small lumps and crags. They aren't sweet against how sweet the drink is, so it's difficult to tell how long (if at all) they've been soaked in a sugar solution. They do give a ton of boba, so much so that I had plenty of leftovers after finishing the drink. Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 The store also sells plenty of food - Ramen, sushi, fried foods, bentos, even poke! Really good customer service from our cashier. He was very friendly and doubled as our server. You order and pay at the register first then find a seat. The server was attentive to us and asked how we liked each item we ordered. We were a party of 7 who came for dinner and boba. We liked the boba teas better than the food. Since moving to Eugene, OR, I've been sad there's no Happy Lemon, ShareTea, or KungFuTea nearby (but my wallet's been happy). But, I'm so excited I found Day & Night! They're located right off of Broadway at the bottom of an apartment building. For my boba connoisseurs out there, trust me on this one, they're the real deal. It's essentially all of the components of the well known boba chains condensed into one place. This place is very cute and clean. The man who took our order was nice and let us know the boba would be a 10 min wait which was fine. We liked the chewiness of the boba though it is lacking some flavor so if you like a sweeter boba pearl it may not be the place. I got the taro boba lava milk which was good because it uses real taro compared to the normal tea mix in the taro tea option. Though this one was just milk fyi. I can't believe I hadn't yet left a review for Day & Night! A SUPERB boba shop with all around: 1. great ambiance 2. delicious drinks, and 3. fantastic service Day & Night is *always* my go-to stop whenever I'm in the Eugene area. I would say I'm a bit of a boba fanatic (having lived in the Bay for a little bit, where every block had a boba shop...) and the boba here is GOOOODDDD. The flavor combos are spot on and I really haven't had a bad drink here at all (as you can see from the pictures, I've tried numerous different beverages from their menu...and these pictures don't even completely capture the total number of drinks I've had from their menu) My favorite drinks are the ones with guava or hawthorne. Both lend a little bit of tartness to the drink and thus, an added dimension to the overall flavor. The person who works there is incredibly knowledgeable about how to make the drinks taste their best (i.e. which ice/sugar levels to change), and is super enthusiastic about making sure each customer has the best experience. I'd love to see them open a location in Portland, but until then...I'll definitely be stopping in Eugene for their wonderful boba!! read more

This is THEE place to get bubble tea!! The barista was super knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. This is the rundown; - They do have nondairy milk, but there's something in the mix of the drinks themselves that aren't vegan- not sure specifically what. - The fruit teas are vegan! They do have a green tea base though that cannot be taken out - If I'm remembering correctly, only the Non-Caffeinated section doesn't have the green tea / caffeine base. - The lava milk is essentially the flavor on top, milk on the bottom. It looks pretty! - The Booms I believe have fruit chunks in them? With matching boba. You can always ask what type of boba it comes with to be sure. I myself got the Ube Lava (Almond) Milk with the included Brown Sugar boba. It took me a long time with questions to decide and the barista (didn't get a name but if the business sees this the person with long blonde hair deserves lots of praise! & a raise ) was super patient and cool with it. The Ube Lava Milk was a nice dark purple on top with almond milk on the bottom. I could just mix it if I wanted to. It tasted like sweeter sweet potato with brown sugar. No caffiene so I didn't have to worry about staying up since I got there in the evening. My friend and I stayed in the sweet hammock egg chairs for a few hours chatting, it was super pleasant. There is metered parking around the building it's in, it's right at the corner. This is really THEE place to get boba. It's more affordable and has a lot of options, even adjustable sweetness levels! Ambiance is nice. Wanted to like the place, however several outstanding issues prevented us from being able to enjoy our drinks: 1) We waited ~30 minutes for our order of 3 drinks. It looked like only one person was working at the counter at the time, and most the time was spent waiting for him to take orders for 10-15 others who walked in. Generally, in my experience, there is usually a cadence where the barista takes a couple orders and makes drinks for those orders before cycling through to the next group. I think we ended up having to wait much longer than the people who just walked in because we needed to wait for those orders to be taken before any of the drinks were even started on. 2) Two out of the three drinks were incorrect. We ordered a matcha Thai tea and it came out as a matcha milk tea. We also ordered a jasmine milk tea with brown sugar boba, but it came out with brown sugar jelly. We did not have enough time to get those drinks corrected as we were on a time crunch and could not afford to wait especially after the 30 minutes, so I cannot comment on the service that may have been provided to get those adjusted. However, it was pretty frustrating to end up with drinks weren't correct. 3) The drinks looked nice but the jasmine milk tea lacked tea flavor. The brown sugar jelly also tasted kind of sour? However the matcha milk tea was pretty good! Overall kind of disappointed, but I did enjoy the interior set up and I believe if these issues are corrected the place can be set up for success. read more

I absolutely love day and night, it is my go to boba place and they have such a huge selection of drinks and flavors for everyone's likes. My favorites are definitely strawberry lava milk and all of their lava milks and the soybean milk tea. The workers are usually the same every time and they are so nice and are happy to suggest drinks. Very cute, modern place for milk tea. I got the mango sago which I discovered is a creamy (blended?) mango drink. If you're not familiar with sago it's almost exactly like tapioca cept it comes from a palm instead of cassava. There's also cubes of mango and bits of grapefruit. I did encounter some icy bits in there? I think the sago is previously frozen? Or the fruit. Either way it kinda ruined the creamy experience. I'm excited for warmer weather because like the quote on the cup it will "cool you down during the day..." My only other complaint, though it tasted great, is that I can 100% tell you I had no idea most of that stuff would be in the drink. I see mango I get mango. I think this place would benefit so much from pretending we're all 5 years old. They need descriptions of their drinks and their toppings. They need suggestions on what goes well together. They need to act like their clientele have no idea what these drinks are because... well... most of us don't. I like to think I know milk tea but man, I felt like the biggest twinkie ever in there.
