I have always wanted to try this place, and I finally did! The pork Bicol express is delicious and only a little spicy (the hostess explained that in the Philippines, that it would be much more spicy). The halo-halo is a classical dessert that you deconstruct to eat-milk, ube, ice cream, flan, sweet beans, jellies-it's delicious. We were visiting friends living in Eugene and found Maynila down the street. The bf was craving for some lumpia and after reading from other Yelpers, we decided to order two orders of 10 lumpias and one or of turon. Both were so good, wish they gave more sauce for the lumpias though. The service was great, the owner seems very genuine and nice. The restaurant is small but very inviting. Always love this place! Small but nice, and the workers are really nice. Food comes out quick and servings are big for the price. The meat is always really tender and flavorful whether it's chicken or pork, but there is often a good amount of fat in the pork dishes. The lumpia were so crispy and flavorful, filled with lots of pork. If you are looking for authentic Filipino food this is where you get it in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. No Philippine regional hype just great tasting food cooked as how it should be cooked. The dinuguan is to die for. Unfortunately Oregonians travel miles and miles to go here so if you are craving for special food like the dinuguan I would advise that you call the restaurant first as they run out of ingredients sometimes and you may miss out on your favorite Filipino food. Try the lechon kawali and crispy fried fish (we had bangus) as they really crackle as they should. If you have have special dipping sauce don't be shy and ask for them and they are just so ready to please! If you are looking for authentic Filipino food this is the spot. The lumpia are so perfectly crispy and they come out piping hot with delicious sweet and sour sauce for dipping. We got the Maynila Bowl with Pork Adobo and rice. The flavors are so good. It's a little greasy for me (they leave the fat cap on) but still tasty. This is a small shop right off main street but you have to go down to 32nd to get to the parking as the entrance is not on main. Plenty of parking when we went for lunch. The dining area is clean and the gentleman working was very nice. We are adding this to our weekday lunch list for sure. read more

When up visiting U of O in Eugene Oregon, we were craving some Filipino food. We happened to find a great little Filipino restaurant in near by Springfield Oregon named Maynila. It was about 10 minutes away from the University. The food was so good and authentic. The owner and chef was very nice and helpful. We called ahead to place our order. We ordered Pork adobo (pieces of marinated pork in a soy sauce base with a citrusy taste), Pancit Bihon (Thin rice noodles with shredded chicken, julienned carrots and celery cooked in chicken broth), Lechon Kawali (pieces of crispy pork belly), and white rice. All the dishes were very tasty and freshly cooked. My family will definitely be frequenting this spot when visiting our son at U of O. Call ahead to make sure they are open. Filipino restaurants are rare. This one is cute ab do the food is yummy. They only had one employee so if he's in the back cooking, it could be kind a hard to get his attention so that you can place an order having said that the food is fresh and wonderful. I was able to try some various things from the other people at my party, and I will say the fried pork belly is amazing. read more

Driving from California and let me tell you this is one of the best Filipino food spots ever. This is a MUST stop in Eugene. Kuya Jaime knows what flavor is. We ordered the kare-kare, sisig, sinigang , lechon kawali, Bicol express and of course lumpia (plus 3 orders of rice). The food was so good we stopped by another time on our way back from Seattle. Our whole family was so pleased at the hospitality and genuine quality of the food. It was so nice to have a taste of home. This shops owner is very nice and you can tell he cares about the food he makes. I recommend calling ahead and asking what he has that day, or calling in advance to order catering or something in the sorts of ordering ahead. He truly makes authentic Filipino food and has made better Filipino food than some of the restaurants I've tried in Portland (and I am Filipino to back up my thoughts!). Tastes just like what I remember from the Philippines! It's hard to try new things because the pancit is SO good! But the Bicol express is hard to say no to. As is the adobo. Huge portions, reasonable prices, the staff is so friendly too. And they have delicious desserts (hello cassava cake and ube anything!) and yummy snacks (boy bawang and ding dong snack mixes). If you've never tried Filipino food- go here. If you've ever wanted to go to the Philippines- go here and get a taste! If you've been to the Philippines- go here! I'm always surprised that there is never a line out the door here. There should be! One of my favorite places in town, never had a bad meal here and I'll be back again and again. First of all, It's Filipino restaurants are very limited in Oregon in general especially in Lane County. That being said, I can't compare to other restaurants however because of my Filipino heritage I can at the least share the quality and genuine taste this restaurant provides. I had the lumpia which was definitely great. It was fresh and hot when I ate it and was balanced with the ground pork and vegetables. I also tried the their fried fish, Pork lechon and those were wonderful. It's always great to know I can get Lechon when craving it. The only downside which it only affects me is I live on the West Side of Eugen so it is a bit of a drive for me but I'm sure if you're craving genuine Filipino food that's affordable this is the place to go. Wonderful staff and lots of choices to eat from. Unfortunately I did take pictures to add to this review but somehow cannot find it. I was having a hard time finding some ingredients to make my own Filipino food around town and found this place. It was surprisingly good. Wish there was more options and it would've been nice if the food was displayed. I got lumpia and chicken adobo which are both good and the adobo was packed with a good amount of rice. Visiting Springfield for an event at the BOB Kiefer sports complex. This little gem of a restaurant was at the back of the parking lot. Busy for a Saturday morning. Folks eating there had come from far away and close by, celebrating a birthday and payday, plus a few grubhub and party catering orders. The food was delicious! I love Filipino food and am lucky enough to have had the best courtesy of a friend who makes it from scratch. I have passed this place several times and always wanted to stop. Outside they have put photos of the menu items and I always appreciate that because we all eat with our eyes first and it is especially helpful when you are a novice with any food culture. It is obvious that Covid hit this business hard. The ambiance is not back to pre Covid I expect. I did get a laugh out of the chicken on the lamp shade (see pic).They have a cold case of grab and go dessert choices that looked yummy. There was only one man working the front and cooking so I had a bit of a wait but I totally expected that and was prepared. My food was cooked fresh. I ordered the pancit bihon and the lumpia. The man was so friendly and personable and the food smelled amazing. As good as it smelled, it was 100x better to eat. Everything was cooked perfectly and the chicken almost had a Smokey flavor and totally added to the dish. I may have to break the news to my friend that I like this one more. Met Jaime today. I just found out Nanay passed away last January so sad to hear. My wife and kids been coming here but not recently due to my kids already graduated from UofO. We frequented this Turo- Turo style establishment but is no longer such instead order ahead so they can prepare for pick up or dine in. Jaime was very welcoming and even allowed us to taste his Sisig which was very well done. Since we came in last minute we ordered whatever Jaime had ready cooking ( adobo/ dinuguan and Lechon kawali all were very tasty and flavorful. The place is still in same location at Springfield. Will call ahead next time and order the pinakbet which Jaime says is a popular dish among other things such as sinigang a personal fav of mine. Desert is still available which comes as a surprise since the restaurant seems to have a limited amount of working staff. Mama Nomad and I went out on a date night. When we are in a new area, we look for Filipino Restaurants. As we have traveled across the US, we have found some that were good and others that were lacking. Growing up with a Filipino Grandma, who cooked good, my tastes are a little more discerning. We found Maynila Filipino Cuisine just outside of Eugene, Oregon. We did not expect to find a Filipino Restaurant here. So, we were pleasantly surprised. We walked in to Maynila and were immediately greeted by a very happy lady behind the counter. We ordered lumpia, pansit bihon, pork adobo, vegetables and Bicol Express. Everything we ate was delicious! We actually had to pack some of it up "To Go" because we received quite a bit of food and at a low price. One last thing, and this is likely just a bonus for me, they knew to ask if I wanted the adobo liquid (sauce) poured over my rice. If you have never had adobo and you order it, ask them to do this for your rice. It makes it quite flavorful. While we are in Oregon, I think Maynila Filipino Cuisine will see us again. Delicious.
