As a result, the flooding continued for several more days, causing unnecessary stress and damage. I had the technician return, but the actual problem was only identified because the demo crew already working in my home pointed it out, not the plumber. Essentially, I paid a diagnostic fee for an issue they failed to correctly identify, even on the second visit. To make matters worse, I was told that the diagnostic fee would be credited toward the repair. However, when I later called to schedule the repair and request that credit, I was met with an unprofessional response.the representative said she would "think about it." This experience was frustrating from start to finish. The misdiagnosis, lack of accountability, and failure to honor what was promised reflect very poorly on this company's professionalism and reliability. I would not recommend their services.

We had an issue with our water tank accumulator (we have a well). Water was puddled on the…read morebasement floor, a really serious concern for if the accumulator had sprung a leak we were looking at a couple of thousand dollars to replace and days without water. I called MacDonald and left a message. He called back within an hour and was at our house, which is some distance from his business, in less than an hour. He found the problem, which fortunately was only a bad pressure sensor that let the tank pressure exceed the 75 psi limit and the water was overflow when relief valve did it's thing. He replaced the bad sensor, fixing the problem. His fee was exceedingly reasonable. We are very pleased with the service for he responded quickly, diagnosed the problem and fixed it with no fuss. Not only that, he is an exceedingly pleasant person to deal with, cheerful, knowledgeable and very willing to explain what, why and alternatives. We have used his services off and on for the last decade or so, as he dealt with various plumbing problems that have arisen. At his suggestion, we modified our several outside faucets so that we didn't have to drain them each fall, our custom to prevent pipe freezing at the faucets for our winters are very cold, and the modification was inexpensive and works like a charm. I have noted that he works very well with my wife, explaining things, listening carefully and working with her to make changes that she needed. Frankly, we trust and value Mr MacDonald. He's the kind of service person that we really do like to work with. He is prompt, the quality of his work is excellent and his charges very reasonable. Harold Craig

Last big snowstorm we had they were down one truck, but instead of just delivering what they could and going home for dinner, they stayed out all night. Update: This company went from a great experience, to the worst experience. My secondary heat…read moresource went out during the winter and I called for a service checkup. After about 15 minutes of work I was told the condenser had to be replaced due to mice chewing the electrical wires. I could understand this. Here is where the issue comes in. The technician first said it would be $3400 to replace. He then went to his truck and came back to tell my wife it would actually be $8,000, but they added a discount so I would Pay $6,000. The total cost of the whole install (condenser unit + 4 wall units) was 12,000. So just to replace the condenser is over half the cost of the initial install. I called to complain and spoke with the service manager. The service manager essentially explained to me that this was accurate because if they did the install today it would be 23,000. So they evidently had a 100% price increase. I then explained the invoice showed the unit itself as 2,000 and then labor as 6,000. He explained to me that was untrue, that due to the new invoice system they have, they can just put numbers anywhere essentially, so I should ignore the invoice. I explained my frustration and how that does not make any sense and I am not paying 6,000 for a condenser and labor. He said he understood and would escalate it higher and I would get a call later that day or the next. It's going on 3 days now and I have not heard back. This company went from one of my top rated to near highway robbery. I cannot reccomend them to anyone at this point, and will need to look into alternatives to get my heat back in the winter.
