I usually get a gel manicure and pedicure with them and they always meet the mark! The vibes are very calm as well, good r&b or pop music is often playing, and I realize I'm not really hit with those toxic nail polish fumes when I'm in there as they usually keep the A/C running or have a good airflow in their place. Overall, I come here when I know I need my nails done by people who care. Also, I love that Sophie is easy to reach when it comes to making an appointment. She is so responsive & sweet! I really enjoy coming here and catching up with the women that run this space.

I also stopped recommending this salon to the women in my life because I could no longer, in good conscience, encourage anyone to spend their money where Women are not respected. At the time, I knew I had been deeply hurt by the way I was treated. Being belittled and dismissed in front of other customers stayed with me far longer than I expected. Looking back, I didn't realize how much that experience affected me until I found a new nail salon. Ironically, it wasn't until I experienced kindness that I understood how much confidence I had lost. During a recent appointment at my current salon, there was a disagreement over a nail color. My first instinct was to become quiet. I found myself afraid to speak up because I didn't want to be embarrassed or dismissed again. Before I knew it, I was in tears. The owner noticed immediately and asked what was wrong. When I explained, she stopped everything and told me something I'll never forget: "You're paying for a service. If we make a mistake, we'll fix it. My employee will be held accountable. We want you to leave happy and satisfied." No defensiveness. No humiliation. No making me feel like I was the problem. In that moment, I realized I had been carrying the weight of my previous experience. I wasn't crying over a nail color. I was crying because I had finally been treated with dignity. To the women reading this.....especially Black women, I want you to know that respectful businesses do exist. You should never feel like you have to shrink yourself, accept poor treatment, or question your worth simply because you're paying for a service. Your voice matters. Your concerns matter. Your business matters. I hope every business understands that people don't always remember the manicure or the polish color, they remember how they were treated. Respect costs nothing, but it means everything. Today, I support businesses that value their customers, listen when concerns are raised, and treat every person with professionalism and humanity.
