This is a follow-up to my original review. Time has given me a different perspective on what happened, and I felt it was important to come back and share it. After my experience here, I never returned. I also stopped recommending this salon to the women in my life because I could no longer, in good conscience, encourage anyone to spend their money where Women are not respected. At the time, I knew I had been deeply hurt by the way I was treated. Being belittled and dismissed in front of other customers stayed with me far longer than I expected. Looking back, I didn't realize how much that experience affected me until I found a new nail salon. Ironically, it wasn't until I experienced kindness that I understood how much confidence I had lost. During a recent appointment at my current salon, there was a disagreement over a nail color. My first instinct was to become quiet. I found myself afraid to speak up because I didn't want to be embarrassed or dismissed again. Before I knew it, I was in tears. The owner noticed immediately and asked what was wrong. When I explained, she stopped everything and told me something I'll never forget: "You're paying for a service. If we make a mistake, we'll fix it. My employee will be held accountable. We want you to leave happy and satisfied." No defensiveness. No humiliation. No making me feel like I was the problem. In that moment, I realized I had been carrying the weight of my previous experience. I wasn't crying over a nail color. I was crying because I had finally been treated with dignity. To the women reading this.....especially Black women, I want you to know that respectful businesses do exist. You should never feel like you have to shrink yourself, accept poor treatment, or question your worth simply because you're paying for a service. Your voice matters. Your concerns matter. Your business matters. I hope every business understands that people don't always remember the manicure or the polish color, they remember how they were treated. Respect costs nothing, but it means everything. Today, I support businesses that value their customers, listen when concerns are raised, and treat every person with professionalism and humanity. My niece recommended Nell's Palace to my wife and me, and we decided to celebrate our anniversary. I chose the 24K pedicure for us, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. A lot of shops advertise "luxury" pedicures, but Nell's Palace truly delivers. Nothing was rushed, it was relaxing, enjoyable, and felt like a real treat. We both left feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated than we have from any pedicure before. I had Kim, who did an amazing job with great attention to detail, and my wife had Hannah, who gave her one of the best massages she has ever had during a pedicure. Although the chairs in the front waiting area could use some cleaning and there were a flies and small bugs in the back area that wouldn't leave us alone, I still can't take away any stars because the pedicure itself was that good. I do hope they address those issues, but we will definitely be back and are hoping Nell's Palace becomes our new spot for pedicures. read more

I went a month or so ago. The manicure started peeling after two days. And the woman who was doing my feet, she was just rubbing them with a soft hand. I wasn't getting an actual massage like other customers were. I still left them both a nice tip, but it was obvious that they were not treating me like they would treat other customers even though I came in nicely dressed. I had a love/hate relationship with Nails Palace for a good long while and I finally have to admit defeat; they're just not capable. I've tried acrylics there (you almost always end up with at least one lopsided nail--typically the middle finger, for whatever reason), I've tried gel polish (it chipped within an hour and a half!) and I've tried patience and prayer. I went to this shop today from a referral from a friend. I meant to go earlier tho sweet but they book up fast. Finally was able to get it today. First impression...it is located in the center across the street from FoodsCo. Never really ever went in there before but it looked a bit shady off hand. Got to the shop and everything was ok. My chosen nail tech, Katy was not ready when I arrived though I was about 5 minutes late. I didn't worry about it too much, I just patiently waited. Finally it was my turn and she brought me back to her seat. First thing, the floor was not swept, there was mail trimmings from previous clients under the station. I don't even think the towel was switched out because I saw fingernail clippings on it. I didn't want anything extravagant, just medium coffin with a nudist pink color. Katy's custom mix color was great. We got started on the service. She's really thorough yet quick and I can appreciate that. What I didn't like is that I didn't see any clean tools taken from a pouch or anything. Seems like the same drill bits, sand bands, clippers and cuticle nippers. I didn't see any barbicide around. I got a small nick but no bleeding but I was screaming in my mind. The service took about an hour and I was very happy with the results. I think that I like the color better as matte but still happy with it. I think I will come again, however, I may bring my own tools because I do not feel comfortable with what they use. My mom used to be the inspector so I pay attention to all of their moves, techniques, and storage. Tips...don't call in, book with them through Vagaro. It will be pending but once accepted by the tech, it will be confirmed. They prefer cash though they do take cards, cash app, and Venmo. You may not be serviced at the time you've selected so don't get upset. If you are worried cleanliness of the tools, bring your own. read more

There was a new girl that did my nails and let's just say it was a disappointment experience. She took so long for a basic gel French manicure and she was going to paint my nails blue until I reminded her (3rd time) that I wanted a blue French manicure. There were bubbles in my nails and lint in the polish. I've only had my gel manicure on for a week and it's already chipping and peeling.
