Booked a cabin here on a whim, never having been to the area before because we saw that they…read morewelcomed larger dogs (we have a 60lb and 80lb dog that travel everywhere with us) and there was ample space and amenities. In short, our stay was so amazing and peaceful, and we will definitely be back. First things first, the owner was super friendly, responsive, and accommodating - proactively, a few days before arrival, and in person as well. He was knowledgeable of the area and activities and gave us some superb recombinations (where to go, etc). The check in was easy and straight forward, and our cabin was ready and clean upon arrival. More so than we would normally expect, so we were happy from the start. The cabin we checked into was at the end of the motel in a beautiful grassy and wooded area. One of 5 cabins available for rent and each one had a fire pit, outdoor covered seating, a bbq area, semi-private areas, etc. Inside the kitchen had basic dish ware (plates, bowls, cups, and mugs), a spacious fridge, stocked Keurig coffee maker, large full sized refrigerator, gas stove and microwave... the bathroom had soaps, shampoo, and conditioner available... the living room area came equipped with DirecTV and comfortable seating.... And the bedrooms were spacious and oh so comfortable. While the highway is close by, it's a fairly quiet area and super peaceful at night. I got a small glance into the motel rooms as I was walking our dogs around and the rooms looked just as clean and put together. Very inviting and welcoming. 10 out of 10... we will be back in the area again in a few months and will be renting a cabin again. I've never felt this relaxed staying somewhere... so looking forward to it!

There were NO pots 'n' pans, bowls, or flatware. Not a spoon, fork or knife. However, for $25.00 you could "rent" a kitchen box that contained the above. Still no detergent for washing up. There were several signs suggesting an appropriate gratuity. Stop at the thrift for a spoon so you can stir your coffee.

Randomly called…read moreafter seeing the vacancy sign and customer service (which seems in short supply here???) was amazing! I wish I could remember her name - lady in early sixties, perhaps - recommended a great place to eat in historic old town and then kindly welcomed me in after dinner around 9:30 at night. Even though she didn't have to, she stayed up with me to talk, discuss my road trip, and help map out the next few days. Rooms were clean and spacious, and the signs indicating a 10pm curfew were effectively enforced, although all guests in the pool and hot tub, myself included, respected them without further intervention. Side note: I don't know where else to mention this, but I want to share the advice passed along by the hotel clerk. There is a secluded cove just north of Florence that is a must-see if you're near the coast. To get there, drive north along the 101 until just after the tunnel/ bridge. There is a turn off for the Heceta lighthouse and beach. This is a beautiful, little-known gem and off the beaten path. It doesn't require more than 20 minutes, but there is a small tortuous creek that flows beneath the aforementioned bridge and the subsequent estuary has created a really idyllic beachfront. Again, thanks to the hotel clerk for sharing this with me!

In this case, a small strip between the building and the parking lot. There is no central heating or cooling. There are small heaters in each room. The staff were friendly and quickly checked us in. My party had two rooms. Both were well furnished and clean. The decor was nice and the furniture was in good condition. Neither room was luxurious but both were nice, and especially so for this type of hotel. Recommended.
