    3x3 shower.

4 stars? Nope! Shady people all over the parking lot. Some seem to live here, one working on a seemingly broken down truck in front of his door. Ice maker doesn't appear to have worked in years, and even if it did the ashtrays from the residents sitting on it tells me it's never been cleaned. Water was turned off most of the night so couldn't flush the toilet. Otherwise seems clean in the room, just worn out and making due with what they have to work with. It's cheap but spend another $40 if you don't want to slum it. Update. Water turned off in the morning too. No shower, had to go to McDonald's to do morning business.

FAMILY SAFE AND DOG FRIENDLY! I have traveled up and down the coast many, times, and I have always stayed at locally owned hotels so I know what to expect from them, usually the bare minimum. But did I luck out with the Fir Motel! Wow what a change on the inside! Now I had been driving past this motel for 5 years when I lived in Coos Bay but never stayed here. But since the new management team took over, she has made changes that are wonderful. The cleanliness of the rooms is wonderful (I stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment) and large flat screened television was great. Kitchen was fully equipped and Mahala even lent me her crock pot to prepare a meal. The Fir Grove has one of the best continental breakfasts I have seen. Fruit, nice muffins, cereal, hard boiled eggs, a waffle maker with whole wheat batter as well as regular, and pretty darn good coffee too!! If you are looking for a place to stay along the Coast with a little extra ... the Fir Grove is the place for you!

My husband and I spent last night in this great family-owned motel in a nice little community. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable. Nathan and his family made sure we had everything we needed. The continental breakfast was better than most chain motels. No AC because it isn't needed. Although the community and the motel area itself were very quiet, the occasional truck traffic on the highway may bother some (but that would be true of any other establishment in this area). Didn't keep us from sleeping after a day of traveling!

Great motel for the price. Decent breakfast included. Lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Nice little hotel. Kerry and her family are wonderful. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a place to stay in the Reedsport area.

The water was extremely calm and we saw many creatures in their natural habitat. We didn't make it all the way to the beach, but if we were there earlier we would want to try that. Next time! Definitely recommend this experience if you're in the area.

I am on a 5 week road trip/camping trip with my kids and we have been camping all over the PNW and CA. This has been my favorite stop of the trip and had I known it was going to be this magical, I would've booked a week instead of 3 days. The check in process was amazing. They give you the code and you go to your Yurt which is away from everyone else at the campground. You have your own little dock, backyard, outdoor cooking area, sunroom with a shower, and the Yurt itself is like a home/suite-like hotel room but in a Yurt. After a long day of driving, being able to just go to your room and walk right in, especially with young kids in the car, is such an added bonus. I've literally felt like I've had the place to myself these last few days and it's heavenly. Being away from it all means my kids aren't bothering anyone when they're out playing at 6:00 in the morning, and we've been sleeping like logs by 9:00 because it's so quiet --aside from the relaxing sound of water and birds. I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite place. It's so much better than the website depicts and I am absolutely staying here again. I imagine this place books up rather quickly. I got lucky and booked it 7 months ago with no problems. You can kayak (included) to Siltcoos lake OR the ocean. The added gate to keep kids in and away from the dock is such a thoughtful touch and kept my anxiety at bay knowing my twins wouldn't wander off.

What a relief to discover there was exactly one room available on the entire Oregon Coast, at the Economy Inn in Reedsport. The pros: 1) Even though the hotel room was in extremely high demand, they still charged less than $70 / night. I appreciate a business that doesn't take advantage of flex-pricing to make extra money off of humble customers like myself. 2) The king-sized bed was big enough for three full-grown adults. 3) The cable TV worked, and had the Freddie Mercury movie with limited commercial interruption. The cons: 1) It looks like the pictures. 2) You cannot use the hotel linens to clean your motorcycle or road bike. They are very clear about this with the signage in the bathroom. 3) They do not sell Schlitz cocktails at the non-existent hotel bar, nor does it appear that you can get a Schlitz at any of the stores in Reedsport. So if you're from out of town and are planning to celebrate with a cool and delicious Schlitz cocktail, you best come prepared.
