Not perfect, but clean room with couch, mini fridge and microwave. Could use iron and board but overall a great value!

My only regret- not getting more time here! My very first Bed and Breakfast and they truly…read morefulfilled and exceeded my expectations! Jessica greeted us in the parking lot outside and showed us inside and gave us the grand tour. Our room was the largest one- with the biggest bathroom too and just inside the front door. Perfect for us! Across from our room was the sitting room where her father (who was visiting) was working on a puzzle. The father greeted us warmly and said we could help with the puzzle if we would like. Noted*, there was a small hall way with stairs going up to the other rooms, and half bath & into the dining sun room. This is where breakfasts would be, coffee, tea and snacks were available whenever you wanted and the house was simply charming. There was a formal dining room too- I loved the antiques and historic quality in the decor. Jessica and her husband bought the Duck Smith House a couple years ago and they were both very generous with any help and information. I did partake in the puzzle and helped finish it. The breakfasts were simply delightful! Our first morning, she made apple sourdough pancakes that were an inch thick (at least)! And the bacon!!! Day two was quiche- one of my favorites and day three was waffles with stewed apples. I overheard Jessica telling someone else that she tries to rotate between sweet and savory for breakfast. John and I also enjoyed all the kitties, the goats- I fed them some grapes! and I loved the pumpkin patch they had set up for the weekend! John even went out to Justin's model shop. I hope I get to stay here again, because I absolutely loved it!!!

One of the more successful iterations of the tiny-accommodations communities I've seen. (One note…read moreis their website calls these Charlotte-Raleigh for the area. It does note that each of those cities is about an hour and a half away. I cannot imagine why you would consider staying here if you were doing anything in either of those two cities. These seem to me much more suited to the nearby NC Zoo or one of the natural areas in the region.) I appreciate that everything is on one level (no sleeping in a loft where you crack your head sitting up in bed) and that the bathroom is surprisingly large, particularly the shower. There is a single sink, so kitchen and bathing uses are combined into one facility. I guess one of the casualties of this design is any comfortable seating space to read, etc. There are two wooden chairs at the small desk/table, but the only suitable place to read indoors would be the bed (which has a firm but comfortable mattress). The outdoor space is nice provided the weather cooperates. Other cabins are close enough that you can probably hear incidental noise, but people are far enough away that you should get peace and quiet unless people in a neighboring unit get out of control. There's a peaceful pond with a path around most of it. Having walked the compound, I think it would be worth it to pay the nominal extra amount for one of the "view" cabins that would overlook the pond. The zoo is very close by, and downtown Asheboro is about 10 minutes away.

We have never stayed at a Fairfield that was in this much need of a renovation. The hotel looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 80s, and is tired. The furniture inside the rooms are old, there are no USB ports, a small TV, and a bathroom in bad condition. The bathroom itself had grime in the crevices of the floor and had blood stains in the crevices of the bath tub. The shower curtain doesn't even cover the entire length of the shower, and water temperature is inconsistent. Sometimes it's lukewarm at the hottest setting, but suddenly it gets up to a burning capable temperature. There was a damp washcloth hanging on the shower curtain when we walked into our room, which should have been picked up by housekeeping. This made us wonder if our room was thoroughly cleaned or not. The beds are as hard as a rock and pillows are so flat that you need three of them to make the size of one pillow. The whole bottom floor smells like microwaved food even at night AND in the morning. The staff are kind and informative, which is needed at a hotel but is no excuse for the condition of this Fairfield. This hotel just needs to be demolished and a new, fresher, and modern one needs to be built.

Room was clean with enough room for us and our dog. Shower had good water pressure. The breakfast was excellent. Every employee we encountered was helpful and pleasant. Bathroom sink was not draining and maintenance showed up within the hour after I reported the issue to the front desk. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

My room was on the top floor. I was worried at first as my room was on the road side but traffic noise was only an issue a few times and not with most vehicles. The trees were a good buffer and there is some distance between the hotel and highway. The room design was ok. The tv could not be seen from the desk area and the floor lamp would have been better at the other side of the couch. I almost moved it. The lighting over the kitchenette was good and there was a ceiling fan too. The windows had two shades rather than a shade and curtains. I would have preferred black out curtains as these shades let light in especially around the edges. During the day it was nice to open both just for light in the room. The room could have been cleaner. I thought it was odd that the trash bags for the cans were not put inside but just left hanging over the cans. The shower had stray hairs and mold growing so could have used a more thorough cleaning. The bathroom door was dirty and a corner of it missing. I wish the remodel would have put a door enclosing both the sink and toilet shower rooms rather than just having the door at the toilet/shower room. The tv lineup was good but every once in a while the channels would scramble so maybe the connection wasn't good. There is a fitness room open 24 hours a day. I couldn't get any photos as it was in use every time I tried. Then the outside pool seemed closed for the season. I believe there is a grill outside and saw some hanging out at a seating area. Breakfast is free in the mornings and could have used a larger area or the items better laid out. It was not the best organized. The toaster was so close to the waffle iron and that seemed like a safety hazard when trying to get something in and out of the toaster. The first morning everything was getting restocked and a good selection but someone else was working the next morning and items ran out and just a few items were out. The area was not kept clean the second day either.

It was very clean very comfortable and very nice. Breakfast was OK, but I'm really over hotel breakfast I think. The TV didn't have a sleep timer, and the only other gripe was you couldn't put the fan on "continuous" for white noise do drown out the normal hotel hallway chatter. But highly recommend.

Coming into the hotel the lobby is nice, there's a nice size seating area and a little area to pick up last minute snacks/ items you might have forgotten. The gal that helped me during the morning was quick and attentive, she told us the elevator was slow and kind of chuckled.. thought it was odd but shrugged it off.. going to the elevator I will say it's not slow.. it's sketchy. The doors to it were already open yet I didn't see anyone coming out, we got on and it took fifty years for the doors to shut.. then a loud buzzing went off before we went up to the third floor. Walking to the room you smell about fifty different smells which is fine, multiple people cooking multiple things throughout the halls. Getting into the room the first thing I noticed was the musty smell of the room. It turned me off but the overall look of the room itself was nice and modern. The bathroom is spacious. The tub itself didn't seem to be wiped down thoroughly which I cleaned before bathing my child.. the rag came out kind of dirty which was gross. Another thing that was unpleasant was the bed sheets are white.. yet there were visible stains on the sheets, comforter and pillows.. not only that but later on I was told that the hotel is known for bed bugs... great. The breakfast was actually extremely satisfying. They had cinnamon rolls which was a big hit for my little one, pancakes, bacon and eggs, a big variety of things. I would say overall the stay was good. Clean wise it's mediocre which I wasn't expecting for an holiday inn.
