I felt it necessary to help out fellow travelers & provide a recent update because the hotel has…read moregreatly improved since the last review 2-yrs ago. Pros: * Very decent nightly cost... with a AAA discount, it was $92 with all taxes included. I've been traveling for 2-wks & have spent $159-179/nt on far too many hotels in worse condition that many Motel 6's nowadays, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the condition of the rooms made the price not sting. * Really lovely, professional front desk agent when I checked in tonight at 4pm. * Hot morning breakfast, 7-days/wk. A nice touch is they offered fried eggs (kind of like the egg you find on an egg McMuffin), scrambled egg patty & fried sausage patties & links, not boiled as a lot of hotels seem to be doing these days. No potatoes or fruit, which would have been nice, but they did have bagels, white bread to toast & some sort of packaged sugary pastry. * Good location with wide parking spaces. Truth be told, I pulled off for the Comfort Inn next door, but the wonky parking spaces & look of the hotel made me bypass it when I saw the BW behind it. I also knew the nightly cost was $160. I'm glad I did (although CI might be fine, too... I just went with my gut feeling). * Nice feel to this hotel... there's an old western, Victorian feel to some of the decor. I have the feeling, due to some of the old fixtures in hallways, doors, side offices, the front desk, etc., that this might have been a very old establishment. * Room is nice & clean, had plenty of towels, m/w, mini-fridge, coffee pot, plenty of coffee/plastic cups, 2 soaps, plenty of lamps around the room & I like that the tub is ceramic. * Quiet inside & out. Nice feature is the doors don't slam as loudly as many hotel doors do... if you turn the handle & close it softly & then push on it to engage the lock, it doesn't wake the bldg like many others do. * Good, strong WiFi. Easy to get out without bells & whistles some other chains have. * TV is great. You have every single news, weather & cable movie channel. I wish I had time to stay & chill out another day. * Nice, small pool out front but on March 9th, it was far too windy & chilly to be in an outdoor pool. They also have a small fitness center near the elevator. * Big bonus is the wall a/c-heat doesn't rattle like a jet engine. I needed constant heat on this 50-degree night & it can be adjusted Lo-Med-Hi, which is a welcome touch. Cons: * Nothing really. On this night at 5pm, the 24/7 lobby coffee & hot water were all cold. I could have asked the front desk to make more but I didn't want it enough to bother & I heated my tea water in the m/w in my room. * My shampoo/conditioner samples were empty but I have my own & am sure I could have asked the front desk for replacements... I just didn't want to go back downstairs. Water pressure wasn't very strong & being on the 3rd fl, it took a few min to heat up, but all in all, it was fine. * Not a big deal to me but someone below said that in '22 the ice maker on the 2nd & 3rd floors didn't work. They still don't, but the ice maker on the 1st floor is operational. 4* out of 5. Give them a stay if in the area.

If you want to feel itchy AND unsafe this is the place for you! The only redeeming quality was the incredibly kind and hospitable front desk worker Courtney who probably doesn't get paid enough.

The water pressure in the shower was prefect and there was plenty of very hot water. Towels and sheets were fluffy and soft and I slept great on the comfy mattress. Another huge plus, especially if you visit Orange in the summer, is the upstairs was nicely cooled; I never felt warm inside for a second. There is wifi, but I only really used it to download a new book to my Kindle. There's also a TV in the room with Direct TV, but I never turned it on, instead preferring the serenity of this quiet, historical neighborhood to cast the perfect reading environment. I'm a light eater, so Gina, the innkeeper, provided me with fresh fruit salad each morning with toast or bagels. Parking is off-street and around back, so you never have to worry about your car. The is an expansive backyard with huge old trees. I preferred the front porch to watch for the occasional passing freight train which runs down the block. (There is a quiet zone in Orange now, so there is virtually no noise from the passing freights.)

This hotel is a hidden gem. Literally. The hotel sits…read morebehind a small casino. When you drive up at first all you see is the casino and a small strip mall with some eateries. You have to drive between these two to find the hotel. The hotel is very clean, fenced around, beautifully landscaped, and well maintained. The staff are great. The hallways have a wild casino themed carpet and there is the casino a few feet away from the lobby through a breezeway, but you don't have to go there if you don't want to. My room smelled a bit strong of "air freshener" when I arrived, but other than that was spotless, very comfortable, and pleasantly decorated. It was equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, big screen TV, a very comfortable bed, big bathroom with rain shower, nice towels. There was a pool that looked nice. Ice machine was at the end of the second floor, and there was a washing machine and dryer available. Like I said, there are various eateries right outside with a variety of food: Subway, Hunt Brothers Pizza, fried chicken, and more, a sports bar, and the casino. The hotel lobby is nice and the morning personnel are friendly. The check in clerk was more businesslike, but he was efficient. They require a refundable deposit for any damages. No smoking. I did not eat breakfast there but it looked very good, more than the usual. They had a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, and a lot more. I'd definitely stay there again, and would be comfortable taking my family.

The room and lobby was clean. No issues with cleanliness at all. We encountered a few staff members and every one of them were very nice and as helpful as you'd want. Breakfast was waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes with bell peppers and onions on the side, biscuits and gravy. They yogurt was in a machine which was weird. Cereals weren't really kid friendly. There were a few pieces of fruit and a small assortment of breads/pastries. Overall not bad. The pool area didn't look very appealing, I could see what looked like leaves in the bottom. But we didn't get in it since we were just passing through. The theme is casino which was different and cute. Had good parking and easy access to rooms.
