Good: clean rooms, large dining area in lobby, coffeemaker in the room Bad: personnel's attitude, loud traffic noise all night, no safes in the room From the front desk, to the bartender, to the server at breakfast there was not one smile. When my cousin asked for another key, you'd thought she asked for the front desk person to climb Mt. Everest. The front desk person sits on a stool against the wall playing on her phone constantly and would seemingly rather be anywhere else than behind the desk at the Hilton Garden Inn Beaumont. The server was going through the available items on the buffet at breakfast when my cousin asked if they had rye bread as an option for toast. The server then said snippily, "if you would let me finish, you'd hear the available breads." Any question asked was met with the same cold and almost confrontational attitude. The bartender has a very similar demeanor. She was gruff and unpolished. She did not know how to make the most basic of drinks and also seemed extremely put out having to do her job. This particular location of Hilton Garden Inn needs to get a handle on their staff's interaction with the customers - it's not welcoming by any stretch of the imagination. The hotel was clean and modern. Everything went without a hitch and check in and out was all done on the phone. We didn't even have to talk to anyone unless we wanted to. We did have a couple drinks in the hotel bar, couldn't taste the alcohol at all in either drinks, plus it was weird that the bartender looked at recipe cards to make them. read more

Hilton Garden Inn Beaumont was super for the price, with a lobby restaurant so we didn't have to go out. Highway noise was minimal in spite of being very close to I-10. The room was clean, TV worked fine, staff were friendly and helpful, etc. BUT the third-party (not Hilton) reservation service (Reservations.com) was MISLEADING. We got fooled into believing we were dealing with Hilton, and later learned that we would get no cancellation privileges, Hilton stay points, free wi-fi, or other Hilton Honors privileges at two locations over seven nights of stays. (Fortunately, the nice folks at the properties where we stayed helped us with some of that.) If you want a direct Hilton (or other brand) hotel reservation, be SURE you're not making it through a third-party reservation service. They apparently pay Google to put their links above the hotel chain's links, then lead you to believe you're talking to Hilton, Marriott or another name brand. They also don't know anything about the property except what's on their script, so the info you get may not be accurate. The best thing to do is contact the hotel directly (where we would have gotten a lower rate and our travel points). We get that number everywhere we go, in case we want to stay there again. Next best is to go through the hotel company's website or reservation number. If you're on Reservations.com or some other third party website, READ THE FINE PRINT. If you're on the phone and not sure who you're talking to, ASK, and if it's a third-party reservation service, I suggest you hang up. read more

Beautiful updated hotel with updated modern flooring and finishes. Rooms are nicely furnished and there is room to walk. Bathroom had very nice walk in shower. Cafe/bar has a decent menu. Ordered a pizza and salad. Pizza was freshly made, large and delicious. Got the extra sauce and well done so there was some color on it! Yeah! Hotel was under remodel but everything was open, pool, food service, bar. Room was clean and no noise from the construction. They had protection down to keep the floors in the hallway and elevator from getting messy. Pool was nice as well as the hot tub( it could be a little hotter though). Parking was plentiful. We stayed here this weekend for a baseball tournament. This will be our Beaumont place to stay from now on. Easy check in and out. Keyless rooms were so easy. Clean and quiet. A bad storm came through and power was out for a long time but everything still worked except the AC. We had a box fan with us and was able to use that and wasn't bad at all. The wife and I visited as a stopping point between Austin and Biloxi. Located on what I could call Beaumont's main row, we had a good stay overall. What happened AFTER the stay was the worst part which i will elaborate on in a moment. Friendly staff upon check in; we were given a first floor room about half way down the northern corridor. No noise complaints, the bed was acceptable. Fridge in the room to help with adult beverages. Reasonable sized HDTV, not as big as my living room standards. The only room we had on our trip that didn't have a plumbing issue. I'm totally a fan of the lamps that have power outlets; wishing I could find them for my home. We completed our trip to Biloxi, then onto NOLA for a few days then back home. When it went online to check out the damage on my AMEX card, holy crap Hilton Garden Inn charged me for what I had already paid for thru Hotels.com. I called the hotel; they said the desk attendant accidentally deleted their info and charged the credit card I used for incidentals. A week later I demanded that they remove the charge from my card, citing that it was not my problem that they hadn't recovered the charge from the travel website. Minor screaming ensued and finally the charge was credited back to my card. I will say this, HGI's room rate was less than Hotels.com by $18. Does it pay to ask for a better rate if you call the hotel? I've had mixed results with internet websites usually winning the price per night wars on average. I do appreciate that when I pushed a bit, the management at the Beaumont Hilton Garden Inn refunded the charge within 24 hours. They also let go the staffer that checked us in on that day for "multiple" reasons. Hopefully, next visit will be a bit better. Can I refuse to give my CC info if I've already paid? read more

I decided to mix it up on my latest Beaumont visit. I usually stay at the Hampton Inn next door. The Hilton Garden Inn is usually a few dollars more but this particular week, they were the same price. My 1st 2 night here were perfectly fine. The room was nice but no different than the Hampton other than the Keurig machine(I don't drink coffee). They both have similar pools and workout centers. The Hilton Garden Inn does have room service and a bar that the Hampton does not. The prices for the food are reasonable and the gratuity is not automatically added. Unlike the Hampton however is no free breakfast or free social hour. You are paying for everything at the Hilton. Now those things are not worth bringing this place down to 3 stars but my experience my 3rd night is. My 3rd night I noticed once of those swarming termites in my room. No biggie as I just killed it figuring he was alone. Wrong! I killed like 10 more. It was almost 10pm so I figured I'd just sleep and it would be fine. Well then the power went out. No A/C so I had to take the blankets off while I tried to sleep. Only to have 5-6 more of these termites fly on me as I tried to sleep. Annoying as hell. Now the place is very clean. I'm sure they fixed the issue and I'm sure it was just a bad night. However it was my experience. I'd stay here again if the Hampton next door wasn't already a great deal but I won't unless the Hampton is booked solid. read more

This hotel is easily accessed from I-10 and locals informed me that it was in a safe area. The room was a nice, comfortable clean with a separate living room area with a good sized flat screen tv. The complimentary hot breakfast was good with an assortment of items and the staff in the breakfast area was awesomely nice and friendly! Overall, this is a pretty good hotel. The staff was very accommodating at the desk, and gave us all the info we needed with our points. The rooms themselves are pretty nice, although I do feel that they were a lot of little oddities that I don't really like - the door was weirdly super heavy and the doors in the bathroom were a little too low - almost hit my head getting out of the shower. Some of the outlet doesn't work. Front desk- wife is deaf but she was talking to one lady then other front desk pulled the lady away and we had to wait till she come back to reserve a room. Worst experience ever. Checked in online had confirmation for a double non smoking room. We get to the hotel and our room smelled of smoke. Our daughter has asthma and we could not stay in the smoking room. They were out of double bed rooms and only had King beds. They said we could have one king room and a roll away bed. There are 4 if us and only one person can fit on a roll away and two roll away beds can not be put in a room. The MOD was not helpful and she was not even on site. Asked for adjoining king rooms which were available but said we would have to pay extra. So that they could accommodate all of us. The girl who was at the front desk was super sweet. read more

Staff is very freidnly, rooms are larger then I expected and comfortable. Lost 2 stars due to breakfast. I thought it was complimentary, like most hotels that cost around the same price or cheaper are. Gave it a whirl since pamphlet in room says "start your day with a hot cooked-to-order breakfast" I figured $10 wasn't bad to have a breakfast like that..... It was nothing more then a steam table buffet of very low quality food. See through bacon is one thing, but gravy that has the consistency of water?? The V8 looking juice was thicker then the gravy. The most wasted $13.77 (after tax and tip) I've ever spent. Next time ill save money, stay at the La Quinta for cheaper and get a better FREE breakfast. read more

I travel for business every week and stay faithful to the Hilton brands with each location I visit. While this isn't the nicest Hilton Garden that I've stayed in...it does the job just fine. The rooms are standard Hilton brand room...but with a huge TV! (not in width, in depth...doesn't everyone have flatscreen?) The staff is very friendly and have treated me very well over the last couple of weeks. The location is great for a business traveler that needs access to I 10. There actually isn't any area of Beaumont that is too far away and there are several restaurants next door for late night dinner options. I also am a fan of the coin op laundry...call me what you will. I definitely prefer to wash my own clothing as necessary...always feel bad dropping my gym clothes off to the cleaners! The breakfast buffet is a great option for the traveler as well. While they offer everything including eggs as you want them...I've been sticking to the oatmeal and fresh cut fruit. Improvements? OMG...when I say that I-10 is close...I mean right outside! Lucky I'm a deep sleeper or I'd be awake all night. The truck noise is a constant, but I keep my fan on to create some 'white noise'. The gym...one of the worst I've seen. Outdated machines and almost no weight options. There are several local gyms that I've found that are awesome and affordable (world gym). From my window I can see the Homewood Suites that they are almost done building right next door! Needless to say...newer hotel...Hilton brand...that's where I'll be if I ever end up in Beaumont again. read more

This is a great location for my business trips to Beaumont. I originally booked a king room with a sleep number bed. The booking included breakfast during my stay. When I arrived, the woman working check-in chipperly told me that they had to give me room away because of some issues and that I would instead have a regular king room. Although not a huge deal, I was pretty unhappy. After a long flight and drive, I was looking forward to having that adjustable bed. She went on to say that they were comping me breakfast and discounting my rate. I told her that I had already had breakfast included, to which she just said, "Oh well, there is that discount." Well, that's nice, but it isn't what I wanted. I found it a bit irritating that they didn't offer double points or something for the inconvenience. The hotel is a bit on the older side, and the rooms could definitely use some upgrading, but overall the place was clean. I liked that they had spa water in the lobby when I arrived and some sort of snack for guests. The continental breakfast was better than most, and the staff was very attentive. They have an omelette station in additional to a lot of the regular things you'll see at hotels -bacon, pastries, yogurt, etc. The fruit was a bit limited, and they didn't have a non-dairy milk option. Overall, the experience was very pleasant, but I was not thrilled with how the check-in situation was handled. read more

Yup don't stay here. I called the hotel to tell them I'd be very late- I rang the bell for 10 min before someone came to let me in. Second my room was clean but I was concerned since it looked like someone had broken a piece of wood off the front door so much so that I could see out in the hallway when my door was closed. It was way too late, I needed to sleep for 4 hours and no one would be able to see into the room after I placed a chair under the door knob and as an extra measure. The first time I stayed here was in March 2009 for about $150 and I think they weren't open long. Then, I stayed here again last night for about $94. The service is courteous and attentive. The hotel is aesthetically clean and tidy. You are right off 1-10 with a movie theatre and several restaurants nearby. There is no ventilation in the bathroom and the TV is way outdated. Look at my photo! If you want to watch TV on a flat panel TV. You'll have to go down to the lobby. Hopefully, the next time I stay here there will be flat panel TV's in the rooms. read more
