After staying at Days Inn, I checked my card statement and noticed that there was an additional $250 unauthorized charge. I called to dispute, and the employee mentioned the manager would be in in a couple of hours and would call me back. Never happened. I called again the next day and the employee told me the charge was for an unnapproved pet. After arguing about the existence of a pet, they finally sent "proof" of the pet in the room. It was a little bit of white dog hair on a black surface that must have caught a ride on our bags. They claimed they had to throw out all the bedding and do a deep cleaning when all they had to do was call me first to understand what must have happened, and clean the room regularly. I waited until the following Monday to try and contact him again and again, he avoided the dispute before hiding behind an email late at night. This man is a crook, a coward, and doesn't deserve your business. read more

Covid has definitely made my vacation interesting. I found this place because I had to find a spot to sleep tonight. I was really tired and not many place to stay. The staff was really friendly and the room is clean. It's great to finally have wifi and take a nice warm shower. She understood you would allow her pet, but when she got there (late at night) she was told her dachshund could not stay. As a result, she is spending the night in the parking lot in her truck with her pet. Charging $190 for a room when there are cars trapped on the highway is not right. Tried a different hotel in Golden last time, and definitely regretted it. The Days Inn Golden was at least a little bit off in pretty much every area. We paid for a kitchenette but they didn't give us one at first, then they gave us a room with the kitchenette behind a locked door. Once they finally brought the key down, we discovered a tiny room full of dirty dishes and appliances. No kettle and no microwavable cups, so no hot water for tea. (The coffee maker was disgusting) The paper cups they insisted were microwavable leaked. A large disappointment since we booked this hotel for the kitchenette. The test of the room wasn't much better - only one electrical plug of the 2 fully worked, lights burnt out, rusted vents in the bathroom etc. As others have mentioned, the view from the back is lovely - too bad our window was covered with footprints. We wouldn't believe this if it hadn't happened: Arrived at midnight after a 5-hour drive, manager had canceled our reservation without telling us, was not only completely unapologetic but ARROGANT, as if we had done him some wrong by showing up to our reserved hotel. Yelled (!) at, intimidated my husband and me, finger in our faces, left us stranded with nowhere to stay, made no effort us find another place. Had to drive an hour and a half in the dark, rainy mountains to nearest hotel. A simple, "I'm so sorry, let me help you find a new place/give you a coupon/whatever" would have been enough to quell the frustration. But this man was AGGRESSIVE, CRUDE, HOSTILE. When we left, in tears, and said, "F you," he said, "You too!" Unbelievable! DO NOT STAY HERE. I think this manager missed the Day's Inn Customer Service Workshop. We have filed a formal complaint with corporate and the Golden Chamber of Commerce, and we sincerely hope he is reprimanded appropriately. read more

We've stayed at this hotel twice, and both times have been very impressed with the value for our dollar. We generally go with friends, and manage to stay in suite style rooms that afford us a little extra space. The rooms are always clean, and recently seem to have undergone a renovation to modernize and refresh each of the rooms. Also, the staff are pleasant, and the atmosphere of Golden is awesome. I highly recommend chekcing out Days Inn Golden if you're heading to Golden. read more

Ok, not a super premium place to stay, but after a day or two in a tent? Wahoo! And the view, the view, the view - absolutely amazing. This Days Inn has GOT to have the best view of any Days Inn in the world! (Any body think otherwise? Tell me about it!) The rooms are big, there's a fun pool with a slide (so many Canadian hotels have slides!), a sauna and a hot tub. We weren't there in ski season, but imagine these latter two are packed when there's snow on the ground. There's a good sized dining room (the food is NOT so great) and an outdoor eating area too, with again, a spectacular view. Check in, buy yourself a picnic lunch, and enjoy! Avoid this place if you can...Do not believe in good reviews about this place. We reached late and were very tired to go out and have food so decided to eat dinner in Days Inn's restaurant. Server/Waiter seemed nice at first. But as soon as we started ordering she became very rude. We asked for some vegetarian food and she gave Caesar salad with "Bacon". When asked to changed she was not willing to do. But finally gave some vegetables chopped in a bowl with the name of "Caesar Salad". in the end added 2 salads in the bill (the one we returned with bacon). We had big fight over it. Then she removed the item and gave a new bill. Unfortunately I wasn't there at the time of bill, so my friend signed it assuming she corrected the bill. In the morning at the time of checking out of the hotel, I verified the bill and it was with the cancelled salad. Front desk person was again as match as the waiter. He replied very rudely to our questions about wrong bill and also said the restaurant we ate last night is on contract and if we have some dispute then go and take with them and not with him. Overall, pretty good. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds, with professional staff. The breakfast, which is conveniently served between 6-9 every morning, has a wide variety of choices. More importantly, the rooms are quiet enough to not hear your neighbours through the walls (though you constantly hear doors slamming). the basement has a rarely-used and affordable washer and dryer. One point deduction for the dishonesty of the manger - when I asked for a quiet room, he told me that he couldn't move me as the hotel was fully booked - but then proceeded to try and sell a room for the next several days to a walk-in customer. Summary: Underwear sitting pool side, artificial tasting eggs for breakfast, watered down orange juice. At first glance, this looks like a great property. We walked into a room and thought it was going to be amazing - we had one of the jacuzzi suites above the lobby and it was extremely large and open. The mountain views from our room were great, and the restaurant below seemed to be very good at shutting down around 11:00pm - 11:30pm to keep the noise to a minimum. But this is really where the positives ended. Pool: We went to the pool and when we went in found out the water was too cold to swim in. The pool was obviously not heated, and should have been closed since it was impossible to use. Then we turned around as we hurried out of the cold pool and noticed a pair of men's underwear sitting next to a bench. Disgusted we walked around further and found there was more discarded clothing in one of the changing rooms as well. It was clear that no one cleans the pool area. Breakfast: Reading the reviews we were expecting a decent breakfast buffet but were thoroughly disappointed. The items were limited and did not change: artificial tasting eggs, sausage, breads, pastries, and yogurt. The seating area is small and if you come during the busy times will have a challenge finding a seat. The eggs tasted artificial, and were bad enough that I only had them on one day. What topped it off was the orange juice - it was clearly watered down every single day with one day being so bad you could barely taste the orange juice. Not that I wanted the watered down orange juice, but I wanted to see if it actually got better which it never did. Room Cleanliness: Our room was spacious, but was not cleaned very well on a daily basis. The floors were never swept and all the debris on the floor stayed there for the entire stay. The shower, while visually appealing, was full of limescale buildup all over the tile and chrome fixtures showing it had not been properly cleaned for months. I have stayed in this motel on July 22 2017 for the prise od 225$, which I got through Expedia. When I was paying for my room I asked them if they could reserve same room for me for July29. I was told that the room was unavailable and that I could have another room for 259$ for which I have placed the deposit on ny credit card; However on July 29 th they charged me for the room 300$, stating that they have 40 $ worth of taxes. We booked through booking.com, but my review was deleted for some reason, so I am posting here instead. We had a room on the ground floor and had bugs in our room, as mentioned by another reviewer. Wifi reception was horrible, pages taking more than a minute to load and Skype was impossible. We expected a microwave in our room, as stated on booking.com, but there wasn't any. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel, but service was poor. We walked in and was not greeted by anyone. Someone who was eating told us to just find a seat somewhere. It took awhile for the food to come out. When it did, we never got the soup that should come with the meal. We also had to go up to the cashier to get our bill. On the plus side, the breakfast was decent and it is only 20 minutes from Wild Water Adventures, which is a great place for white water rafting. However, the hotel was not cheap (approx $130 per night), so I probably would not stay here again. read more

I would most definitely not stay here again. We had a room on ground level and it was full of bugs (root weevils) and spider and fruit flies. There was an obvious gap under the front door. After calling front desk about my concerns they told me it is to be expected for a mountain hotel to be full of bugs and that I should be more understanding of this. I do not think a hotel room should have more bugs living in it than a tent. If you like sleeping and showering with a breeding ground of insects then this is the place to stay. read more

We came to stay in the evening from Edmonton Alberta before our trip to Kelowna.from the outside, it looks nice, but we overpaid for the service we got. The food was terrible, I had the butter chicken poutine which tasted like tomato paste mixed with cream. Bland, and the lady serving us wasn't very helpful. I had to stand and try to find her to ask her for the bill. So after we ate, we checked our room. It was clean and neat, but I had to scrub the calcium off the shower head. We were excited about the pool, until we walked in, where it was filthy. The only good thing about this place was the continental breakfast, but I definitely would NOT stay here again. We've been staying at this hotel for the last several years for all of our visits to Golden. It's always clean and comfortable, the staff are always pleasant and helpful, and the cost is great. They have a waterslide, great location, good restaurant, and have recently been doing a bunch of renovations to modernize the decor. We'll be staying there again for sure and always refer our friends to stay there when they're in Golden. read more
