Upon driving onto the property, the place looked like it was on a very large piece of land...very spacious. When I checked in, Jean was very professional and nice. She gave me waters and cookies (why doesn't every place do this?) When I got to the room, the cats were super happy with the cleanliness of the room, the space, especially the large window they could sit in for the view of the trees in the back...they were not happy that the bed is on a platform and were not able to get underneath. But that made ME happy! Breakfast in the morning was plentiful. I had mini waffles that I made myself, I had some eggs and Canadian bacon. Like a real FULL breakfast. Not just one or the other... there were also juices, muffins, fruit! and bread choices from bagels to toast. And the coffee was decent. So many places just don't even get this right. I wish I was staying more than a night at this location.

It was just an overnight but I also appreciate the free breakfast in the morning to get me on my way. They had sausage eggs. Of course. Plenty of juices and coffee, fruits and vegetables and muffins. The band was very comfortable, and the shower was nice and hot. I also appreciate the fact that I was able to change the nozzle on the shower head to different patterns and strengths. And I also appreciate the lighting on the bathroom mirror. It was a good stay!

The front desk claimed I only paid for one night, even though my bank showed a $528 charge and the Hilton Honors app showed both nights. I had to stand there proving the charges while my special-needs son was upstairs alone. The manager admitted it was their mistake and promised a $267 refund. It's now March 10, my stay cleared March 6, and I still have not received the refund. I even have a letter confirming it. Very frustrating experience. Double-check your charges if you stay here.

Little things too: our room (# 120) was a tad larger than usual, the television is big, and the art -- something I notice -- is local and attractive. The staff is exceptionally nice and if you need to make a quick getaway, I-95 is right there ... but you won't hear a bit of noise. I wasn't familiar with Waltersboro, but it's on the map with a cute, if not sleepy, downtown area housing design and antique shops. Also a good number of restaurants with great reviews. If you don't feel like driving there's a Cracker Barrel outside the hotel and Ruby Tuesday a few blocks away.

We've returned here multiple times for one simple reason -- it always feels like home. We arrived after midnight, and the front desk team couldn't have been kinder. Check-in was quick, welcoming, and exactly what you hope for when you've been driving for hours. Our room was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable -- the type of room you walk into and instantly relax. Checkout the next morning was effortless, and the complimentary breakfast buffet gave us the perfect start to get back on the road. Home2 Suites continues to deliver comfort, hospitality, and consistency every time we stay. We'll definitely be returning on our way back home. Well on the morning of the day I was supposed to check in, I received a call from the resort basically saying that my reservation was cancelled due to overbooking and there was nothing they could do for. This was totally unexceptionable!!! This is the worst experience I have ever had with a resort!!!

Only reason I didn't give it a five is the surrounding area. There is golfing and fishing and boating. Other than that, nothing. When we were there the weather was in the 40's and 50's. We aren't golfers or fishermen. The state park had nice hiking available but other than a day trip there, not much activity. If you're looking for something out of the way, quiet and relaxing then this is a nice spot. I'm sure with better weather there is more but this wasn't my experience. Glad I came though. Also, no sales pitch. Huge in my book!
