Even if you are not religious, you can enjoy this wonderful choir that sometimes performs the great classical works, like the Faure Requium last Friday. These can be watched via livestream, and clearly the choir enjoys singing together and give a professional performance. In addition they have sometimes done a couple of concerts a year, with a minimal religious component added, that I have been comfortable going to in the church. I wish they would do more of these that appeal to a larger community than just the church membership. Their past European tours are available on CD. Keep up the good work! read more

Dayspring has filled my heart with the love of Christ for 45 years. Our talented worship leaders foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all. Our music program is second to none and the plethora of programs and classes that are offered provide opportunities for everyone to grow from. This past week - Holy Week - was so uplifting! I have been a member of Dayspring Church and Chorale for 20 years. It is the most welcoming and loving Church that I have ever belonged to. It is inclusive; everyone is welcome. The sermons and music are inspiring. The services on Good Friday was moving and very beautiful. On Easter Day the services were all especially uplifting and joyful. My husband and I joined this wonderful, loving, supportive congregation of peacemakers, Dayspring UMC, last spring. We have just finished our second Holy Week there, and found it to be the most joyous, uplifting Easter season of all (in six decades of church attendance). From the celebration of Palm Sunday through the contemplation of Maundy Thursday, the grief of Good Friday and on to our Lord's glorious resurrection on Easter, Dayspring and its team of amazing pastors, tremendous musicians, fine liturgists and others ministered to all of us, young and old, long-timers and first-timers. Just last year I found my church home at Dayspring after years of searching in the East Valley. Dayspring welcomes everyone, regardless of their ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical and mental abilities, etc. These are not just words. Dayspring walks the talk. I found Dayspring to be a breath of fresh air. It's the first church I've attended where you can sing "All Are Welcome" and know All are welcomed. The music program is the best in the valley. I attended dayspring with my spouse for about 4 years. it was the 1st church we went to in phoenix where we felt welcome and it felt...right. the only reason we don't attend anymore is because we moved out of state. we love that it is a progressive and all-inclusive church. that means that this congregation accepts you for who you are and where you are. spiritually, emotionally, personally, etc. that, to us, was hugely important when we were searching for a church home. we wanted a church home that had diversity in all aspects. we quickly became involved on a couple different levels after attending regularly for a few months. we became active in the young adult group, and I joined the choir. not that I'm the best singer. but I enjoy music. and Michael, the director of music, does an absolutely AMAZING job with everything he does. I'm a bit of a music snob, so it takes something to impress me. and he does. he knows how to motivate the choir and pick arrangements that sound gorgeous in dayspring's sanctuary. you will be hard pressed to find a church in the area that has a better music program. the sermons are equally amazing. full of intelligence, wit, wisdom, and research; it's hard to not connect on some level with what pastor jeff or pastor joel bring to the table. they often use pop culture, literary, and current happenings to their sermons to help the congregation relate to the message. dayspring has a thriving children's ministry. children are an ever-present part of what dayspring is doing. something that families who attend really appreciate. this church also has a big focus on giving to the local community. involvement with local homeless shelters, the LGBTQ community, and local mission work are high priorities. if you are searching for a church home, I absolutely recommend giving dayspring a try. go for a few sundays. it will be worth your time. read more
