I love Redeemer...my husband and I had a hard time finding a church that taught from the Bible, verse by verse, unapologetically. And with redeemer we found it. It's worth the 40 min drive. Our teens love the student program on Thursdays, and have found such a wonderful group of friends. (I homeschool and the homeschool community here is great). The church is solid doctrinally, despite a few of the reviews I've come across here. Visit for yourself or even watch a livestream sermon. If you know your Bible, you can discern how doctrinally sound the church is or is not. The people are generally warm and welcoming. There are growth groups (a.k.a. cell groups, small groups) for fellowshipping opportunities. My review is less than 5 stars because of the church's size. One reviewer said the church is not huge or something. Well, define "huge". It's got about 1,900 people and requires 5 services between Saturday and Sunday. The head pastor once lamented that he cannot know the names of everyone in his congregation. I also want to get the know and be buddies with the head pastor. It is hard to do that here. There are about a dozen associate pastors, but that doesn't cut it for me. Related to this is that the head pastor is also not around enough -- in my opinion. He makes himself available after services to talk with people who need prayer, etc. He'll make time to hang out with you, though it may take more than a month to schedule that. However, the man also feels called to plant churches in foreign countries, taking him away from the church for a few weeks at a time. IN MY OPINION... I am not sure he ought to be doing that. Unless called by God -- then it's MY problem -- he ought to be available to his 'flock' as much as he can be. Another personal preference issue is the church's -- what I call its -- "preoccupation" with the "almost-Christian". This is the Christian whose heart is comprised of bad soil (shallow, rock-covered, etc.). I've never met so many believers who've come from being an almost-Christian in my life. I've never heard so many baptismal testimonies from almost-Christians in my whole life. My own salvation's been called into question approximately 6 times in my ~2.5 years attending this church. "Maybe it hasn't gone from your head to your heart, brother." Kind of tired of it. I'd still recommend visiting it to check it out for yourself. My issues are my issues. The church has almost 2,000 people for a reason. It seems to make most of the people who attend it happy to be there. I'm just not sure it's for me anymore. read more

We have had the immense honor of attending Redeemer Bible Church for over 5 years. It is grounded in the Bible and doesn't sway based on the political climate or social pressures. They speak Truth with Jesus' Love and I know they are changing lives - mine being one of them. Redeemer has an amazing staff and leadership that loves people - real people who are broken but seeking what all of us needs - God's forgiveness, grace, love and peace. We've visited multiple churches in the East Valley and have not found a church like Redeemer. It really is a special place! I was so happy to be a part of the "family" until they decided that growth is more important than the people they shepherd. They never followed through on a single thing. I was told they are "too busy" "human", all whilst books continued to be authored and services expanded. If you want to wear a mask, you are treated like a dissident. They have affected my.life in a way I will never get over. Don't go to Redeemer. Wolves in sheep's clothing. Yes. I mean that. This church has been a God-send into our lives. We had recently left our old church, due to MANY reasons (but poor leadership was #1), and my husband and I were both very discouraged. We had both been at that church for over 20 years, and we tried 10+ churches but none of them fit what we were wanting. Some of our wants were obvious; genuine people, strong Biblical leadership, messages that actually speak truth even when it's counter-cultural, good stewards with money, importance placed on safety for children, etc. But some of what we wanted was very specific, and it seemed unlikely we would find any church that had them; this included not playing Bethel or Hillsong music, smaller in size, pastors that actually speak to you when you make eye contact (yes, sadly this wasn't expected, this was optional since so few pastors at churches we visited would greet us). One night we drove past Redeemer Bible... As we went through the Culvers drive-thru, I pulled up the reviews to this church and was very impressed with what I read, so we decided to check it out. Let me tell you, the first Sunday we walked in was so incredible. The first thing that happened once we sat down was a nicely-dressed man walked by and said good morning. I was caught off guard when he got up to lead us in worship! (I know it's silly, but some worship pastors have this rockstar "too cool for you" persona, and I loved that this guy was professionally dressed and friendly) He led us in the most authentic worship I've ever experienced, and a blonde girl with the voice of an angel sang too. Next, pastor Jon stood up and he gave us a message from Titus on how to be a good employee... Seriously, the most boring topic ever, yet I was riveted by everything he said. I took pages of notes, and he easily had a dozen verses to back up every point. It had such an impact on me, that the next day I went into work and had a meeting with my boss (who is also a Christian) on how I can improve and be a better example at work, to non-christians. I even pulled out my notes from the sermon to reference! It was THAT good, and changed my entire outlook at work. Anyways, back to that Sunday... After the message was over, a family sitting down our row came over to say hi and welcome us. Pastor Jon also stood at the door on the way out, and shook everyone's hand as the exited, which I appreciated. Before leaving for the day, my husband and I ended up touring the children area. Once again, it had the friendliest people I've ever met at a church. We met this sweet lady (I think she was the children's director?) who answered all of our safety questions, program questions, etc. And one of the pastors came in to pick up his kids (pretty sure it was Costi) And we got to talk to him about the church. He was really personable, and the lady and him talked to us for probably 20 minutes. It was a completely new experience for us. We have been attending for the last three months or so, and every week I am blown away by the message and worship. I follow this church on YouTube, and the pastor's post weekly videos discussing a variety of topics, and answering questions. It makes me emotional to think of how grateful we are that we found a church that has the same values we do, and that they don't compromise on the truth. This church fulfilled every single one of the needs/wants we had, and even some we didn't know we wanted! I have the utmost respect for everyone I've met so far, and I'm PROUD to call this my church home. I've even seen a difference in my husband and our marriage. Since we've started attending here, he has had more of a passion to read the Bible, be more accountable and improve his leadership (based off another message Jon gave from Titus, about the Biblical role of men). I am so thankful to God for this church, and all the people in it. Yelp removed my review because they said I went too far. Notice the 1 star reviews here are about politics and people. My review was about doctrine. If according to the professor from The Master's seminary who was teaching on the book of Hebrews both Satan and Christ are interceding for us in front of YHWH the Father and we can lose our salvation because he's certain Paul of Tarsus wrote it I don't want anything to do with this Church. Eye for an Eye and Tooth from a Tooth is NOT from the times of Moses sir. It is part of the Code of Hammurabi, the very first written Law found, which is around the time of Joseph. That's how bad sermons can get here and if you can take that seriously then I implore you, read your Bible as a book, from beginning to end. Perhaps there's something true in the review criticizing the politics of this church and people finding it that it tickles their ears, to quote actual Paul. In my previous experience it was a great Church, the day I wrote my original review it was one of the most horrific things I've witnessed because all the pastor staff was at a conference. I'll leave it to the adults who go here to make their own choices. I'm simply sharing what I witnessed and how they manage to remove my original review. But if you are concerned about getting true biblical sound doctrine. Getting medicine (the Word) and not a bunch of sugar, then this is the church for you. This church also knows the importance of family, childcare, soul care, hospitality, great worship, and everyone is very friendly. I had to leave my former church of 28 years because of the teaching there. They were becoming more and more of a progressive Christian church, sharing more values with our culture than with the Bible. I started my search in September, visiting 4 other churches, which were all "ok" with one or two visits. But when I came to RBC, and met the lead pastor in the courtyard, and told him about my old church, he expressed sadness for me, and encouraged me right away telling me that he would be starting a sermon series in a couple of weeks on Social Justice vs. Christianity. I thought WOW! That this church not only understands, but also would address it, was great. When we got to those weeks' sermons, I was even more impressed, because it wasn't just a political rant, but was truly a Biblical outline of what justice is... and isn't. So much Biblical reference, so much expository teaching. And the church isn't only like going to seminary or something. No, it's warm fellowship, encouragement, accountability, worship that is legitimate. I've heard all the pastors preach and am in awe! Truth, no compromise. read more

I can't tell you how RBC has deepened my relationship with Christ. Because they only go by the Word and not of their own will, their sermons are full of knowledge, power and hope for those who listen. I will say the only downside is that people in Arizona don't just spark up a conversation with you so you won't get to know many people unless you really make an effort. I have been attending RBC since I was little. Being a Gilbert local my entire life I have had many opportunities to go check out other churches but the expository teaching of the pastors are unmatched. I have tried other youth programs as well and at RBC (The Gathering) you hear the Word preached without any fluff. Arizona is full of churches, but beware, only a few are faithful to the Word of God in these last days. This is one of them. I got to visit this place while traveling through and was greeted by true saints (Heb.13:24). But the important part for me was not the ice cold lemonade, the delicious muffins or even the nice looking interior wood. Rather, it was the teaching of Scripture. They run the church like it is supposed to be done without any compromise. They teach everything from Genesis to Revelation. They clearly state their mission and pray to the true living God. There are many in this town that claim that the church needed to be restored in the year of 1830 because of apostasy. That is a false statement with no biblical proof. Jesus said that His words would prevail even until the last days (Matthew 5:18). Do not be fooled by the churches, who claim they have truth by claiming to restore it with new prophets in the present age. The Book of Revelation closes the canon written in 95-96 A.D. There are no prophets in this day in age. The Bible warns us about this in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Always ask questions and meet the leaders of the church. This is a church you should definitely visit that raises the bar. They are pleasant people from all walks of life who come to worship. There is no such thing as a perfect church, but there is such a thing as a healthy church. This is one of them so come as you are. read more

Moved to the Gilbert area 3 years ago and have been searching for a verse by verse bible teaching church that stay true to the Word of God. Found it in RBC, the pastor is well trained and educated in the bible and it's meaning, and delivers the message truthfully and without apology. Congregation is small for the area 200-300 but is growing as the word gets out. If you're seeking the true meaning of The Bible and working out your sanctification give it a try, service times are 9 and 11am on Sundays. read more

My husband and I were in town visiting from LA and chose this church because one of the pastors is a Master's Seminary graduate. We greatly appreciated the preaching of God's Word and the very high view of God and of Scripture that was displayed. I let my ten year old granddaughter choose which church she wanted to go to for Sunday school. We tried two others which she did not like, but she loves this one! I am happy to have found a church that she WANTS to go to and says 'I love church' when she comes out! She has been going there for several years now and has not changed her opinion of it even though it changed from Desert View Baptist to Redeemer Bible Church recently. Very welcoming church. Great sermons. Nice campus. The pastor is from John MacArthurs seminary. There's no sugar coated messages or word of faith / prosperity gospel in this church.
