Dr.Neal, you're a rockstar. You stepped in and helped me out when while our regular Vet. was out. Thank you! I was panicked, scared and bordering breakdown. Ms. Kim, I don't have an adequate word to explain how amazing you truly are. You know my boy's med history like he is your own. After having the worst week ever, it all came out along with a hundred tears and you were there to comfort me. You reminded me I wasn't alone and you truly listened to me. Even the things that weren't vet related, you listened and consoled me. Thank you! Please never stop being you Warren Resell, I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, but you made things happen and happen quick. After speaking with Dr. Neal, and walking into to the clinic (this took a total of 15 minutes), you had my boy's meds ready to go when I walked in. Like super hero speed. Thank you! Please keep up the good work because I know us pet parents are a special breed and can be demanding and overbearing at times (because we love pet kids of course). All the snarky comments aside, you all really helped me and got my Zeke feeling better. My appreciation to you all is enormous. Thank you!

I had to put him down one week after the vet gave her all of her vaccinations in one day. I did my research and found out that it is not advised for a vet to administer all vaccinations at once to a senior dog or one with health issues and an underdeveloped nose. Our sweet Shih Tzu began to have bloody diarrhea the next day. Prices are astronomical at this practice.

I indicated when I checked her in that I wanted her sedated and yet, they waited until they had her and turned the clippers on to realize they needed sedation. When she came home, she had an extremely noticeable limp and her back leg. I waited 24 hours because I knew she had been sedated and perhaps she was just wobbly on her legs. The limp got worse, so I took her back and they took more x-rays only to tell me that her patella was slipping in and out, but she was unsure which it was at that time. They then wanted me to pay for the X-rays, and I refused because she was injured while at the vet. I took her to another vet and he took his time to physically examine her leg (she was not happy) and gave me medicine to reduce swelling and to help with the pain. I'm not sure if she fell from the table when the trimmer were turned on at Northpark, or someone grabbed her leg out of instinct when she tried to jump from the table, but Northpark acted like it was my fault and they had nothing to do with her injury. It's been about 6 months now, and she still walks differently. The fact they couldn't' even take responsibility for what happened is the most disappointing, more than the $$ I paid for the treatment.

I would not recommend Baytown Animal Hospital based on the experience my mother-in-law had with her…read moredog. She brought her dog in on a Saturday because it was vomiting, had blood in the vomit, and was showing signs of a serious abdominal problem. During the examination, the veterinarian was able to feel what appeared to be an intestinal blockage. Instead of immediately explaining that the dog would likely need emergency care at a 24-hour hospital, they recommended additional testing. After more than $1,200 in diagnostics, they confirmed exactly what they already suspected--an intestinal obstruction. Only then were we told they could not treat the dog because they are not a 24-hour emergency hospital and that we would need to find another emergency veterinarian. By this point, it was already Saturday afternoon, and we had lost valuable time trying to locate a hospital that was still open and capable of performing emergency surgery. What made this even more frustrating was the bill. One of the charges was more than $200 for an outside radiology interpretation of the X-rays. Since the primary concern was identifying an intestinal blockage--which the veterinarian had already suspected during the physical exam--we questioned whether that additional expense was necessary. We asked that charge to be removed. In the end, we left with a very sick dog, a bill totaling $1,261.51, and the responsibility of starting over at another emergency hospital. Had they been upfront from the beginning about their inability to provide the level of care the dog would likely need, we could have gone directly to a 24-hour emergency facility and potentially saved valuable time. To make matters worse, when I called to ask why we weren't informed earlier that they could not provide definitive treatment, I was placed on hold for several minutes before the call was disconnected. My wife ultimately had to call back and pay the bill. My issue is not that veterinary medicine is expensive. Emergency diagnostics and treatment cost money, and I understand that. My issue is the lack of transparency. When a veterinarian believes a pet has a surgical emergency that they cannot treat, the owner should be told so they can make an informed decision about whether to proceed with diagnostics there or go directly to a facility that can provide definitive care. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling that collecting diagnostic fees took priority over helping us get our dog to the right place as quickly as possible. Because of that, I cannot recommend Baytown Animal Hospital.
