My family and I are done with Crosby Vet. On yesterday, we had a horrible experience there. What we experienced, I would not wish on my worst enemies pet. I brought my dog because he was in pain. He is on a special diet hopefully to dissolve kidney stones. Well, the vet did and x-ray and lab and said the stones were dissolving. I told him that Hershey, (my dog), had vomited several times and barely urinating. He prescribed some antibiotics and pain meds. He had the vet tech to give him a shot for nausea. 5 minutes after the shot, he was in severe pain. So much and so that he was like a rabid dog. My mom tried to pick him up and he bit her. The vet said he needed to re-examine him but in order to do that they would have to put a muzzle on him and sedate him. The vet said he would send the vet tech to muzzle him because he could not. The vet tech comes in and she is so fearful that she ask my mom to do it because I was crying. So, my mom did. When they brought him back in the room, he was heavily sedated. We were told that the sedation would wear off in about 45 minutes. Also, we were given a different diagnosis than the first and was told that Hershey needed surgery. The paperwork was signed for scheduled surgery the very next day. We are rushing hoping to reach home before the sedation wore off because we did not know what his behavior would be. While on the way home, we received a call from the vet who treated our pet stating that they cannot do the surgery on tomorrow because they do not have an experienced enough vet to do so. It's like our baby was an experiment. We definitely did not receive what we paid for. $686. How about that! And we came home with our dog worse than he was when he went. The staff at Crosby Vet is very good. After the staff, you have no idea what your experience is going to be. I have have a few instances where some of the vet tech were kind of unprofessional to say the least. Nothing that I could not handle. But yesterday, yesterday was a nightmare. No more Crosby Vet for me. When I left, their systems were down and they told me that they would send me a link to make my payment later. I received the link; made the payment, and have no intentions of ever setting foot in that place again. Shame on everyone there for how my dog was treated on yesterday. Hopefully this review will prevent anyone else from experiencing what my family and I did on yesterday. I don't even have the words to express how I feel. But, I do know Crosby Veterinary Clinic will never treat Hershey Simpson again. If I could give a rating of zero I would. read more

While I brought him in to be put to sleep, the lack of professional care and compassion during the process was inexcusable. To make matters worse, the clinic has completely stopped responding to me since I began demanding accountability for their actions. It is heartless to mishandle such a sensitive moment and then go silent to avoid the consequences. Im very disappointed in this clinic. I rescued a small shiatsu doggy that was down by highway 90. She is severally matted with growths of fur mounts all over here. I walked in around 9am and asked if they could squeeze me in today to get her vaccinated so that I could take her to get groomed and dipped. Needless to say, they turned me away saying they would not sqeeze the poor doggie in and to make an appointment for next week. read more

Compared to most vets this place is very affordable. They don't seem very thorough with their exams, or cleanliness.. they tried to tell me my dog had fleas when in fact the fleas were in the exam room from previous animals... definitely shows no cleaning between patients. My dog had his heart worm fast kill treatment here it was about $500 total which I'm grateful for. My lab left with a tick on him he didn't come in with..... the vet is very short and to the point they don't seem to have a lot of explanation for any questions I have.. the place could definitely be cleaned more throughout the day and even if you have an appointment expect to wait 30 min at least to be seen even if you show up when they open. I don't know what the disconnect is here but I wish they'd be more on time and cleaner and I'm sure they'd have better business. My pets are always comfortable here and we typically chose to stay in the car until they're ready which is a nice perk they offer instead of the waiting room. The front desk lady did try to tell me I was late for my appointment but in reality I was waiting in line for 20 min after I got there just to say i needed to check in... the staff definitely needs a reality check on work ethic read more

We have been taking our animals to the Crosby Vet Clinic for years. We don't want to go anywhere else when it comes to our animals' care (except for the Emergency Clinic that Crosby Vet Clinic recommended when dog was extremely ill some years back). The people at Crosby Vet are honest and sincerely care to do the best for each and every animal they take care of. They are no nonsense and do a great job! They also have compassion. We had to have one of our dogs euthanized in May, 2025. It was difficult and they were very kind. This is not the first time we had to do this, but each and every time, the people at Crosby Vet were patient and let us stay with our dog and comfort him until he was over Rainbow Bridge. They have been good to us and our animals over the years. I noted that somebody in a review stated this looked like an old clinic. Well, new does not necessarily mean better. We started taking our animals to this vet probably over thirty years ago. We began using this clinic when the older veterinarian was there and ran things. I was sorry when he retired, but I have to be honest, the newer and younger vets have done a great job too. I prefer this Crosby Vet Clinic over any other. Just because something is housed in a newer building does NOT mean that it is better or the care is of high quality. The other poster also seemed to be freaked out in regard to cleanliness. Just because the facility is NOT brand new, does not mean that it is not clean. It is clean (and I am particular but not to the point of having OCD). (Of course, if one is Adrian Monk's twin then I can understand the extreme obsession with cleanliness and "bugs". But then, WHY would one have a pet as they do make messes sometimes ... lol). I recently visited Crosby Vet when my neighbor recommended them. My kitty was sick and we had gone to 2 other vets and I was desperate for a 3rd opinion. Unfortunately, my Canelo had to be put to rest. All of the staff and the Doctor were so compassionate and made this process (my first time) of euthanasia for my kitty as caring as possible. This place is awesome very nice and friendly and very trustworthy. My mom's Chihuahua mini has been seen here for seven years. My puppy that I got that was like two months old had worms and was very sick and this vet. If it wasn't for them they honestly saved his life and I'm now taking my new puppy to get his second set of shots. I highly recommend this place what they're doing. And there great at it sometimes it's not easy to trust, especially where we leave our furry friends but I definitely say that you're in good hands if you bring your pet here great service !!!!!!! read more

Although I wasn't a fan of quite a few things at this clinic, Doctor Busch was amazing! He did a great job with my baby and answered all of my questions. Even printed me out her past test results and her diagnosis. The tech that was with him, Daniella was AMAZING as well. So sweet and so gentle with my cat. The first doctor and tech we seen were horrible. They ware rude, short and not sensitive with me or my pet. They called her "cat" the entire visit and were not at all gentle with her. What can I say about this place? I have been going there for several years. It was OK at first, but has gotten worse and worse over time. The lady at the desk, was always super rude. They have new ones now, so this part is not as bad as before. Most recently, my pup was having a bad reaction to the prescribed medicine. Two of the vets said her troubles couldn't possibly be caused by the new medicine. I begged to differ. One just shrugged his shoulders at me and said, "some days you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug." WTF does that mean, and how is that helpful? Appointments are NEVER on time! Even if you make an appointment early in the day, you will likely be waiting 30 - 45 minutes past your appointment time before you get to a room. Then you wait some more for the doctor to come in. It was better when it was FCFS, Might as well be since they can't run on a schedule anyway. The place is FILTHY. My pup peed on the floor and i got a paper towel to clean up and the paper towel was FILTHY. You guys need to sanitize the whole place and clean the floors daily. They are still being COVID ridiculous with people having to wait in their cars. Do yourself and your pet a favor and go somewhere else! read more

My elderly Aunt was told to bring her dog in "now" for a sudden condition. She ASKED them if she needed to make an appointment, she was told, " No, bring her now". 2 hours later, we are still waiting. My Aunt is hot, her health isn't great, and now her ankles are swollen 3 times there size. I would give them less stars if I could. THAT IS NOT HOE YOU TREAT YOUR PATIENTS. I went in for my 5 week old puppy to get her vaccinations an I was told they wouldn't give her the corona vaccine after I requested them not to. The vet came in an gave her the shots. I asked afterwards what shots he gave the first one that he stated was corona. The assistant slapped his shoulder jokingly an said to me I tried stopping him from saying that. I told him I requested she not get that shot. She is a small pug not even 3 pounds.He brushed off my concern an shrugged his shoulders she'll be fine. I told Robbie the assistant that I didn't want her to get the rabies vaccine next time. She said well tell them when you check in. So today I go for the second visit an I mention I don't want the rabies vaccine. The office manager comes up an says she's going to get the rabies shot whether I like it or not because it's mandatory. I explain that my last pug was 6 months old an received the rabies shot and started having seizures and died from seizures later in life. So all my dogs, I have all inside small dogs have not gotten the shot. I told her I will sign the form denying the shot. She said there's no form for that. I know that's a lie, because I have brought my pekingese a few years back to this very vet an they gave me a form to deny the rabies vaccine. She told me in front of everyone with hate in her voice "If your dog bites someone without the vaccine, we will cut her head off an send it away for examination. I asked her why would she say something something so horrible to me. Then a front assistant came up telling me to calm down an talk lower all while her office manager was yelling at me over her shoulders and I could barely hear the woman in front of me talking. They are extremely unprofessional. Yelling at me in front of everyone sitting in the office. The customers in front of me where also upset. They said they never answer the phones. I agreed because everytime I have ever called no one ever answers. They also where so loud that other customers where able to hear an put their opinions in. An a customer named Karen was cussing at me. She was definitely a Karen in every aspect. The workers are racist an treated a elderly Hispanic lady extremely rude an smiled at everyone else. We've been a customer of Crosby vet for 30 years but NO MORE. This place has gone down DRASTICALLY since Dr. Wagers left. I've been increasingly disappointed in their service but today was the last straw. This was my most recent experience. I can NEVER get them to answer the phone. Finally saw someone post in a neighborhood group WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT and one commenter mentioned an app she uses. So, I downloaded it, and had to set up an account, set a primary vet, set up profiles on both dogs, and request an appointment for each separately through the app. It doesn't show available appointments... just lets you pick any old date and time. Then multiple communications back and forth 'through the app' to be told that dates not available, pick new ones, get confirmation from the vet, then have to confirm you're showing up. JESUS CHRIST!!! Just answer the phone like a normal reputable business! So today was one dog's appointment. I fly out of the door after a meeting that ran over, grabbed the dog, and rushed to get there in time. I get there and realize in my mad rush I FORGOT A MASK. UGH! I pulled my sweatshirt over my face and went inside. I was asked if I had a mask and said no, but I'll leave my sweatshirt over my face. The lady behind the desk (with a very unwelcoming look on her face and crappy attitude) was shaking her head no and said I had to have a mask... so yeah... all that to get an appointment and they won't even see me. MEANWHILE, the chick walking around behind the counter has a mask on BELOW HER NOSE, which I pointed out and informed them doesn't do any good if it's not worn properly and is no different than my sweatshirt over mine. The lady shook her head no and again told me I had to have a mask (still rude about it). SERIOUSLY, REQUIRE YOUR STAFF TO WEAR IT RIGHT OR DON'T TRY TO ENFORCE A DAMN MASK RULE AT ALL!!! So I then ask her to just print my records for me. She prints one but then can't find the new dog I adopted. I told her the name it was under and when they called to confirm my appointments (because they got confused with the app and multiple dogs/appointments) they told me they would note it so they could refer to them at the appointment. The lady at the desk then tells me they can't give me those records until the prior owner CALLS to release them (does HIPPA apply to dogs???) My old dog was even given a complimentary nail trim after all the other poking and prodding given her during a wellness exam; she was not very cooperative, but yet they still were able to provide this extra touch despite my old dog being 'over it' at that point. However, I have never had the run around experience like I have had with crosby clinic. Paid $250 for tests to be done. was told i'd receive a call back at the latest Dec. 23rd. I understand it's holiday so I give the benefit of the doubt and hear nothing Dec. 26th. I have called 3 times as Dec. 27th and been told numerous different reasons and excuses for putting off work. I have been going to this facility for several years and have never had an issue with them. On my last visit my dog required several medications and one of them included heartworm medication. I was given an empty box of medication. I didn't realize it until it was time to give my dog his first dose. I opened the package and there was only the medication info packet inside. When I brought the issue to their attention I was basically told they are not responsible. For those of you who choose to go there, check your medications to make sure you get what you paid for. If I could leave 0 stars I would , last time i'll be coming. My dog had a slice on her toe and I went to Crosby vet to get advice if she needed stitches or not. I bought her and a picture. They refused to look at the picture and were very rude. They wanted to charge me $50 just to walk to their front and look at my dogs sliced toe and $50 just to see a picture. That's insane. Today, 2-28-2019, we took our kitty Georgio into see a vet. He had been throwing up bile for 2 days and today he ate nothing-not even treats-and just been laying down and away from everyone. Which when animals go hide away (especially cats) from everything is usually a VERY BAD SIGN that could be deadly. I looked here on YELP at reviews and called several places. The CROSBY VET. CLC., had half the rates of some of the other vet clinics I called that were 4-5 STAR REVIEWS were all over on the West side of Houston-(I don't have to get on YELP that often-then I saw that I could navigate the site to areas closer to my location-YEA!!! Started calling and comparing prices, how I was greeted on the phone, information in which I was allowed to get before taking my kitty to them, and of course availability to get him in to see the vet. Like I mentioned above-half the cost for blood-work (should he need it) was $98 (if I remember correctly) where the other places were charging $188 and more-yes more- for just the bloodwork, and $15 I think was for urinalysis (if required)-which I totally expected according to previous conversations with clinics I had been calling. The initial visit cost is $40. Georgio received 9 different things: Fluid Administration (looks like an IV fluid bag-given under the skin- not in the veins), a physical abdominal check; a B12 @ 3000mg, 1 fecal-Intestinal Parasite Exam, 1-Cerenia treatment 10-20lbs, Penicillin, Flumethasone INJ Flucort and Methronidazole Benz and Rebound Feline Recouperation. All that for $122.50. Less than the one time cost of Blood-work to be done at one of the other offices. Did he really need all the 9 different things-I truly don't know-all I do know is I am very grateful that this facility did what quite a bit without going for the jugular vein as soon as you walk through the door with a sick pet. Now that I can appreciate and since I was caught up in the moment cause George cried out on the second shot he received-which he normally doesn't do-I became nervous and forgot to get the Vet's name that worked with him (or any of the people's name) and that is bad on my part. I see no ones names on the receipt either; so I can only give a general and sincere thank you to all the people at The Crosby Vet Clc. I hope this review finds you several more clients and brings some peace of mind to others who may be looking for a vet and don't have a regular vet, like me, for their furry babies. I would definitely recommend and feel confident and grateful for having found them. Thank you for helping us with our beloved Georgio and for having such wonderful care at affordable prices. This place provided good care of my feline and provided a neuter surgery for him. This Vet Clinic will give you inexpensive vaccinations and also pain medication for your animals it is first-come first-serve they also have a phone app you can use to keep track of your appointment and register your pets. FIRST CLASS VETERINARIAN KNOWLEDGE. Dont expect pampering or special care everyone gets treated the same with emphasis on get all the pets seen and treated expediently. Plenty sitting room outside if you have that special pet. Advise trying out the phone app. You can make appointments and usually a response in 24 hrs to schedule. They are real busy. My only negative was I wasnt informed my pet was spending the night for post op care. I only found out when I went up there no-one answered my phone calls. Just forewarning many big dogs there if you have a feline bring a pet carrier. Crosby Veterinarian Clinic still will be my goto clinic. read more
