I am a former customer that had my fur babies to see Dr Mike at Glade Valley Vet. Clinic in Kingwood for several years. Well until recently when Dr Mike retired all my fur babies have had to see Dr Scott, and unfortuntely Dr Scott is not as professional or attentive as Dr Mike. I have had nothing but poor customer service on several ocassions. For example Dr Scott has repeatly not returned any of my calls regarding questions medication given for heart care, care plans, or care plan estimates. We had a GREAT experience with Dr. Scott and an okay experience with Dr. Meschler (I was quite put off by the fact that Dr. Meschler got right in the face of my terrified dog, whom we had just rescued off the street and was terrified of all people. Our Christa passed away November 17. Besides being at home for her last day she was in the loving care of all the staff at Glade Valley. All my kitties come from Glade Valley. We are serious about animals in my family. My mother used to be a vet, so we not only lived in a zoo of 6 or 7 cats at a time (as precious as her own children), but we also had chores feeding all the wild creatures in our yard. Birds, squirrels, even the sketchier ones like possoms and raccoons! I swear at one point my mom was feeding the rats. Anyway, it makes sense that my mom is very picky about who she trusts with her pets, and Dr. Kay Scott is one of the best. Spay/neuter, checkups, vaccines, minor surgeries, kenneling - your animals are in good hands here. Wonderful people who will do anything for your pets. I moved away from Kingwood 4 years ago but I still drive 45 minutes to bring my cats there for checkups and illnesses. Just be careful, or you might leave with more animals than you came in with. It's hard to say no to fuzzy lol cats. read more

I love Dr. Scott and all the techs who work here. Dr. Scott is very thorough and caring with our dogs. There is never a waiting room full of animals due to the way they schedule, which is a blessing for dogs who are anxious about the vet. They don't have a high turnover of techs like other vets in the area, so they get to know my dogs and make my dogs more comfortable. I can't recommend Dr. Scott enough! read more

They are wonderful vets and techs and office staff- they go above and beyond for their clients (animal and pet owner). Our bulldog absolutely loves them and gets excited when we go there. They explain everything, truly care for the animal and pet owner, their prices for both medical care for your pet and their meds are very affordable, they give reminders when vaccines and such are due. The vets and techs are great when answering questions and if asking for advice and options as well. I just can't say enough good about Glade Valley. I recommend them to everyone I meet looking for a vet for their pets. read more

Dr. Kay Scott & Dr. Meschler are the finest vets I have ever been to. I have even worked for a vet! Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic in Kingwood is 100% top notch! From the doctors to the staff, every single person is caring, compassionate and professional. I feel the level of care I receive is exactly the same that they would give their own pets! I have been taking my dogs here since 1995, and have even moved out of Kingwood, and drive 1/2 hour to come back! I wouldn't trade vets for the world! This Vet is AMAZING! Dr. Meschler is such a great vet! My Beagle who is now 10 has come down with diabetes and we have now been dealing with it for a year, and Dr. M. has been nothing but great throughout the whole process. We have had to try different foods, different insulins, different amounts and Dr. M. and his staff helped us through it all! The staff there is great as well. They get so excited when they see my Buster in the early am's when he is there every once in a while for his diabetes insulin curves which are all day. I never get worried about him being there. I know he is loved and taken care of there. My kitty had undergone surgery there as well. They called me as soon as he was out of surgery and then when he was in recovery. They also allowed me to come up there when he was stable to visit with him. Always keeping me up to date. My other dog Jacob who is a golden retriever and kitty Princess have been there also for their annual check up's, and I always felt comfortable bringing up any issue with the staff! I knew my concerns would be addressed! The whole staff nows me as Busters mom. I love to hate that they remember me... That just means I have to be there quite often. Now I will say they are not the cheapest in town, but they are the BEST. And when it comes to my four legged kids they deserve the best! read more

Worse vet ive ever been to. My baby boy got neutered and developed a weird sore. Had to switch vets to get it taken care of when it should have been taken care of through THEM for FREE since it was their mistake that cost him this infected sore. They did not care. I've only encountered one nice lady at the front desk. The rest are rude as hell. read more

If I could give them 500 stars, I would. My dog came down with a mysterious ailment very quickly. Not only did Dr. Scott and Dr. Meschler feel every bit of worry and sorrow that I felt, but they worked diligently to find an answer and medicine for this rare disease my dog is suffering. They both took the time to explain what I needed to know, provided resources and gave me advice. Even their receptionist and vet techs are so attentive and caring. I've taken my dog here for years for the standard care. This office has always been kind and did a good job. I am grateful for these folks. read more

Expensive and very rude. We took our 3 dogs in for updates on their shots and general medical checkups. After getting home and reviewing the bill, they charge 3 times what our previous vet! When my husband went in to ask if they would work with us on some of the costs, they were extremely rude and downright refused. My husband told them they would be losing a customer, they replied "OK! BUH-BYE!" Worst customer service ever! And we won't be back. read more

And when our girl had a degenerative disorder in her shoulder, Dr. Meschler knew exactly whom to recommend. Not only has her care at Glade Valley been awesome, but the surgeon referral was fantastic! Like so many pet owners, I am very selective of the vet I chose. Before this past experience, I have only liked one other vet in my 30 years of vet visits. I not going to slam other vet offices. I'm going to simple say that Glade Valley was awesome to our 7 week old sick puppy and I'll never take my animals anywhere else. They went above and beyond and didn't try to take me to the cleaners. First off I have to say that both of the doctors especially Meschler are incredible. We have an 11 year old Jack Russell terrier. He has diabetes and is losing his eyesight. The care and compassion they provide is overwhelming. This process has been hard on all of us but they have gone above and beyond to make him happy and healthy even when he decides to point and bark at the cat in the office. WE are forever grateful to them for the time they have given us with our family member. read more

Love this vet. We currently bring our dog (German Shepherd Mix) and cat to Glade Valley, and they have been very kind and accommodating! My parents also bring their German Shepherd to Glade Valley. He has some health issues as he's now 13 years old, and Glade Valley has gone above and beyond in meeting his needs, addressing my mom's concerns, and keeping the cost of his care reasonable. They are truly wonderful! I also love that they have evening and weekend hours, so I don't have to take days off of work to get my animals in! Great, friendly staff all around. I am extremely selective about vets, and trust Dr. Scott immensely. She's down to earth and easy to work with. She's very knowledgeable. And she'll take the time to explain the pros and cons of everything. I don't care for clinics where they take your pet out of sight, perform tests and exams, and come back to give you the results. I am my dogs' best advocate. I want to be a partner in their care. I have that with Dr. Scott. I have tried other clinics in this area, but returned to Glade Valley. read more

Can't say enough about the great doctors and tech staff here! we adopted a german shepherd-mixed puppy from a not-so-nice shelter and he ended up getting parvo 2 weeks after we brought him home (the shelter had told us had received all vaccines). We brought the little guy to Glade Valley since we take our older lab there already and they began treating him immediately. He had a very bad case of the virus paired with 2 different kinds of worms and we were afraid he wouldn't make it. He spent 10 long days at their clinic when he probably should have been at the 24 hr clinic. Dr. Meschler was so kind and understanding of our financial situation when we knew we couldn't afford to keep him at the 24 hr clinic that charges $300/night! Dr. Meschler and Dr. Scott took turns with the vet techs visiting the little guy during the night and gave him extra attention and love. This was the hardest week and half ever! Even though we had only had him for 2 weeks, he was a part of the family. When we thought we were going to have to put him down, I couldn't contain my emotions. Dr. Meschler kept going though. He was realistic, but optimistic and never gave up on our pup. We've now had our little guy home for a few months and he has been able to put a lot of weight on and is acting like a normal puppy :). I couldn't imagine being without him now, and it's all thanks to the amazing dedication and care that the Glade Valley staff provided. I love seeing him give all the techs kisses when we bring him in for check-ups. He definitely remembers their kindness throughout his time there, and so do we! :) read more

Look ... I'm absolutely certain all the vet doctors and staff are very good people. I truly believe they care a lot. I really do. However, I would not take your cat there for anything other than routine/mundane care. If your cat needs special care ...if your cat is sick, as mine was, I would go somewhere else. Comprehensive examinations and blood-work tests prove to be a myriad of overt guesswork leading nowhere definitively. My goal isn't to write a negative review - my goal is to call to question: Where exactly has veterinary medicine advanced in the way of education and diagnosis when it come to cats and blood-work results? In my particular case, I brought in a cat with FIP symptoms and the cat received an enema and was sent home. I returned my cat after she dived deeper into sickness and was told she likely has FIP. After more blood-work results, I was told she doesn't have FIP but appears to have Leukemia "We're not sure". Long story short, I opted to have her put down at the advice of the vet. It was mutually my decision as well because I felt she was in anything but competent hands. Look, you can't play the guessing game forever...especially when you're shelling out hundreds of dollars...and we were getting nowhere. The loss of my cat was devastating. I just hope and pray the veterinary practice evolves to a MUCH higher level of education, diagnosis, medical testing and treatment. I came away from the experience with a strong sense of, "Sir, we really excel at band-aiding animals but that's about all we truly do - sorry" - "We took our best guess at everything". read more
