It was within walking distance of one of my friend's houses, and I somehow thought it was part of the neighborhood. This place may be cleverly disguised, but there is a lot to see and do, and this has one of the best inland walking paths in all of Port Ornage. The Good: Walk it off: Honestly the thing I like the most about Spruce Creek is the different walking trails. They go around the park, and even continue over the water, and everything is just beautiful. I used to come here all the time with friends and it was a cool spot to hang out. And if you're going on a mid-afternoon stroll with someone special, you really can't go wrong with this place. The trail is about 3 miles long, but even so, it feels very short. Nice and quiet: Aside from the occasional field trip, this place is almost never crowded. This could, of course, be due to the fact that this place is huge, and even when there are a lot of people you just don't notice them. Spend the day: While there's not really a whole lot to *do* per se, there are picnic tables and playground equipment. If you are trying to spend a nice relaxing day out, Spruce creek is the perfect place The Bad: N/A Spruce creek is a very peaceful and tranquil place to go visit, away from the noise of Daytona Beach. While it might not have as much stuff to do as a lot of the other volusia parks, I count that as a good thing. Overall 8.8/10= Just Chillin'

This campground is remote enough to drown out all the noise from the outside world but close enough that in only a few minutes you can enjoy a few small town restaurants and convenient stores and lots of outdoor adventures. The turn off Highway 40 is easy to navigate even with the largest MotorCoaches or fifth wheel trailers and although portions of the road is narrow it is a nice paved road all the way into the campground so if you get confused just remember stay on the pavement and avoid all side roads which are dirt and sand. The office is staffed by a wonderful and helpful group that makes the check-in process simple and really quick if you reserved your site online. The roads inside the campground are also paved and wide enough to navigate stress free. Our site was very level in both directions and all the utilities were in close proximity and well maintained. Although there are a number of full timers here everyone we met were so welcoming and friendly and all the sites were nice and neat, I can appreciate all the rules after staying here and that's definitely the reason this place is such a gem. There are plenty of amenities including a large pool, tennis courts and a basketball hoop, a laundry mat, camp store and lots of access to the water whether or not you have a boat or plan to rent one and although I didn't use many of the amenities it's oblivious they are well maintained like everything else on the property. This is definitely "Old Florida Charm" so don't expect a ritzy MotorCoach Resort experience which is exactly what is so attractive about this place, so if you're looking for a little R&R don't hesitate to book it and hopefully you can get in, it seems no one is in a hurry to leave here...

But we had fun here anyways. Camping. Fishing. Boating. Watching the Kennedy Space Center launches. Very friendly hosts and considerate neighbors. Linda and Del are great, very friendly and reasonably priced. The location is fantastic, right on the water with great views. The sunrises are spectacular! And the dolphin are almost always playing around in the channel. They have full hook ups, including 50 AMP service, WI-FI, cable hook ups, showers and on site laundry facilities if you need them. So, whether your stay is for RV camping, fishing or renting one of their on site cabins, I recommend trying Mosquito Lagoon! It will be a fun stay.

The atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing day by the pool with family. What truly made the experience exceptional was the service. Our waitress, Messi, was phenomenal--she somehow managed to take care of everyone at the pool with ease, all while delivering amazing margaritas and maintaining such a friendly, professional attitude. Kirk, who was running food, also went above and beyond by helping me set up our umbrella, which made a huge difference so my grandma and the kids could stay cool and comfortable. Both staff members were super helpful and friendly! It's not often that we come across rockstar service that truly stands out, but these two made our entire day. We'll definitely be back!

AND…read moreit's in OBS (Ormond by the Sea) which is much quieter than Ormond or Daytona Beach which are within 2 & 6 miles from each other. They are a small and quaint condo RIGHT ON THE BEACH. The prices for a large or small unit that have kitchens, 1 or 2 bedrooms with bath are not astronomical like other places. Did I mention that there is no driving on this part of the beach so you can sunbathe, relax, have your kids play here without the pressure of someone running you over. Wow, the updates and upgrades are continuing to improve The hurricanes haven't slowed them down The Cam and General Managers are dynamite. They work perfectly with the great staff. This "Timeshare" also continues as a hotel so you can call them for reservations or even better, go on Expedia where you can get excellent deals The staff as I mentioned, are incredible. Most of them have worked together as a well oiled machine for years. (This tells you something when there aren't any turnovers with staff) Owners that come year after year are extremely satisfied with care of their condos and even themselves. Again, they treat you like family. What I love about the newly experienced staff is when/if something isn't right they will IMMEDIATELY fix any problems that happens to occur. They continue to have staff and owners meetings once a week You can come in on Wednesdays, have coffee and donuts and express any problems or just tell them they are doing a great job They will tell you about the makeover and improvements that they are making for your stay to be as memorable They want you to have the best experience you want while enjoying your vacation. The Management, staff AND the maintenance is professional & understand the need to relax, have family parties, reunions & cater to your enjoyment while you are staying there. The Innkeeper, Karen, is a true New Yorker and very accommodating to our needs. She asked us each night what time we wanted breakfast the next morning. She asked for our preferences and remembered the small things! One guest drinks unsweetened ice tea rather than coffee each morning and she had a pitcher ready every morning for him. She offered to drive us to the raceway (we took her up on this offer one day) and she engaged in great conversation with us. But, we also had privacy too. The rooms were clean with private bathrooms. There are 3 nice rooms in the Inn and a lovely outdoor area with fire pit which would be great in nicer weather. There was a nice selection of beer and wine available at the Inn (free of charge, but we replenished). It is a true bed and breakfast experience and not a hotel or Air BnB.

Would definitely recommend but remember, this is one of the least expensive RV parks in Daytona, and because of its location, extremely busy and booked months in advance for events like bike week, the 500 and Coke Zero Sugar 400.
