I wanted to update my review. I found out from my daughter that Daytona Automotive did not even fix the reason she came - all the lights on the dash were on. They are still on. They said they could now fix that for hundreds of more dollars. Oh, but they found over $800 of things that they say were wrong including $206 battery and over $100 service fee. WARNING: BEWARE OF USING THE DROP OFF SERVICE. Very sad to say that my late father's truck was stolen from Daytona's Automotive on Glenstone. It was towed there on 8/15, Sunday afternoon around 4:30PM. And was taken and likely hotwired that evening or early Monday morning. Daytona's Automotive does not have any security cameras. It is a white Dodge Ram 1500 with a thin red pinstripe on the sides. This truck is very sentimental to me. It's one of the only pieces of my dad left that I was going to have. Daytona's has always done good work for me over the years with my other cars. But the lack of surveillance really put me off. When talking to one of the managers at Daytona's, they told me stories of several vehicles that had been stolen over the years. Almost like they were bragging. And then, they actually recommended I check with the car dealership across the street, as their cameras may be able to see it. It unfortunately was not visible from their cameras, but the owner of that car dealership told me that Daytona's has vehicles stolen all the time, and they have been begging the owner of Daytona's to get cameras for years. Really odd for a business not to have surveillance this day and age. An auto repair shop that is too afraid to make an INVESTMENT in security to protect my INVESTMENT, is an auto repair shop I will NEVER go back to. read more

I will always go to Daytona from now on! I went the first time from "word-of-mouth" recommendation (like it was in the ancient times before the internet) and I was still nervous. I mean, being taken advantage of by mechanics is a cliche'. Not these people! Zach was very polite and helpful and did exactly what was promised. And it's not like I didn't check a lot of other places first in order to get an idea of what I was in for. Wow! They're quicker, more polite and professional and less expensive than anybody else in town. The waiting area is pleasant. My two daughters trust them with their vehicles. These folks don't try to up-sell, nor worry customers unnecessarily. A very nice lady seemed to be managing. Maybe owning? Not sure, but just can't say enough good about this place. Worst. Place. Ever. Filled with liars. Expensive, half-assed service. I don't know much about mechanics, but I DO know a lot about logic and common sense. I looked up how a flywheel is removed on YouTube and realized that I didn't have the tools to replace that or the clutch, so I took it in to these guys. Sensibly, the flywheel could be replaced at the same time as the clutch. They told me that a job like this would take seven hours. The idiots, although they wouldn't tell me up front, only replaced the clutch and heard the same noise I complained about (flywheel). Having realized what they had done, they had to start all over and replace it. What should have taken one day took three. In fact, I don't think any honest mechanic would take more than one day to do that job, now that I know more about it. How do I know they screwed up? I heard the overpaid bone-ass boasting about how he was gonna "beat the shit out of that pissy customer up front" because he made a "simple mistake" by missing what was written on the work order. Hey, buddy! Time is money and you're wasting mine! You're better off hiring a meth head to do your car mechanics--at least he'll be speedy about it. read more

What a friggin' joke. Nice looking place and they get the money to pay for that by ripping people off! Telling me I need $450 in repairs just so they can better tell what's going on and find out what additional work is needed. Uh, no thanks. I left and took my car to another mechanic. The problem was a radiator hose. Take your car here if you have hundreds of extra dollars laying around that you want to spend to pay for their flashy sign. This company gave me a fraudulent diagnosis on a vehicle. In their opinion I needed to spend around $800 on repairs. I did not trust their opinion. I took my vehicle elsewhere and found my hunch to be true. The issue with my vehicle was remedied for $6 and twenty minutes worth of work. I did not even need a mechanic. Also, be wary when you criticize these people. If you review them on Facebook they will lash out at you. They will then employ their flunkies, who use their own private profiles, to insult you and name-call. You will be shamed for telling the truth of what happened. So far I have been accused of fabricating my review and called "stupid". I'm sure they will get around to more childish behavior tomorrow, though. I was informed that "you can't fix stupid" after reviewing them on Facebook. That may be true ... but "stupid" can use a keyboard to spread the word. read more

I had a mini-van that overheated, and they diagnostic and for all the problems, plus sever that existed prior to my purchase of the vehicle. Now? Driving is like being in a brand new car! I went in for alignment & tire rotation. First of all when i went in, i expected it to be a few days or week for an appointment, like another place I tried, but they said they could fit it the same day, which was great. Quick, efficient, polite service. After the repair, they told me that all my front end parts were strong & did not need replacement. Would recommend. read more

They put a used transmission in my car. I drove it 30 minutes out of town and all the transmission fluid dropped out because they didn't replace the hose clamps. They did send a guy out to fix it but..... Next after a few days I noticed that it did not go into park completely so you can't pull turn the car off unless you tap the gear handle. They said it need a cable adjustment probably and I had it bring it in again. Shouldn't that be all set up properly to begin with. I am not sure whether the price was fair for what they did. I would not go back. There us a significant trust factor missing here. To their credit they did try to be accommodating but it stuff that should have been done right the first time. And because it wasn't it took extra time out of my life. read more

Came in the afternoon on a Wednesday for an oil change hoping to get in and out quickly. When I arrived I was told there were 2 people ahead of me and it Would be about 45 min, maybe an hr, ended up being there 2 hrs. Apparently they ran out of oil filters and had to go buy another for our car, however, they did not offer any kind of apology or discount for our trouble or inconvenience. I also was unhappy with the fact that they advertise themselves as the "family mechanic" and family-friendly yet they were playing a show on their tv that I felt was not appropriate for my kids and they don't have a changing take in their bathroom! At least they didn't cause damage to my car but they are plenty of other options in town which have better service and are cheaper. Will not be returning here. read more

I only visited Daytona's for an auto inspection so I can't claim to know anything about their "real" services like tune-ups, lube, repairs and the like. They had me in and out as quickly as any other place for the inspection and of course it was at the state-mandated price so I have no complaints on that end. However, I fully admit that I was drawn into Daytona's by the kitschy and modern sign with an empowered-looking female. Inside it's your standard auto shop with a bunch of guys leering and being condescending to any ladies who come inside. I'm really not surprised, but also not very impressed. read more

Came here on a Sat afternoon. They fit me in for an oil change immediately and took less than 20 min. In fact I went next door to Starbucks and getting coffee took longer than my oil change. I also bought a new air filter and they put it on for me at no charge. I have a V8 Silverado and it was $40. I think they do major repairs as well in the rear garage. The front is for quick service. They do have some rather interesting employees but everyone was very very nice. They have a nice cool waiting room if you wanted to wait there instead. I normally go to a large chain company such as Pepboys, but as I drove by I noticed they looked extremely busy. So I found myself here at Daytonas just by driving around and the cool look of the place drew me in and of course the Starbucks next door. I'd recommend for an oil change as it was quick, convenient, and friendly read more

Took my car to get inspected and they picked out multiple issues with it that, at a normal shop, would still pass an inspection, but at DAYTONAS, this caused my vehicle to fail the inspection. Long story short, they wanted $300 for parts in labor, when I took it to Jordan Valley Body Works, they wanted $90!!! THEY WILL INFLATE PRICES. DO NOT GO HERE!! Not only do they have a very poor BBB rating, they will take every penny you have, and wouldn't be surprised if they "create" issues in your vehicle to make you a return customer. BEWARE! I took my 09 Altima in for a front end shimmy. They had it all day, as they had to work me in, due to the fact I had no appointment. Received a call from the service writer stating I needed a "loose" tie rod end replaced. I was also told that I needed four new tires due to the fact they had been over inflated for quite a while which caused a dip in the center of all tires. I was also told that if they replaced the "loose" tie rod it would still have the shimmy if I did not replace at least the two front tires! First off, I have a TPMS on my car, which continually checks tire pressure and notifies you , via a dash light, that your tires need checked. So, I knew he was full of it! I went to pick up my after telling them do not touch it. I was charged $35.00 for the wrong diagnosis! I took it to US Automotive for a second opinion and was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with my tires...all were wearing evenly and I definitely did not need a tie rod end. It ended up being a unbalanced front tire. Daytona's wanted to charge me $386.00 to remedy the non problem I had, which by the way was $100.00 more expensive than US Automotive could have fixed it for had it needed a tie rod end. Thank you US Automotive for your honesty and thank you Daytona's for charging me a diagnostic fee in which you apparently were going to take advantage of me! read more

Super friendly, I take my car here all the time. Took it in recently for a state inspection, found out there were a lot of things that needed to be fixed; the mechanic took me out to the garage and explained everything that needed to be fixed before I could pass. It was a lot, but they fit it in really fast. Super impressed one time when I was next door at Starbucks and braedon actually walked over to give me keys back. read more

I went in this morning for a vehicle inspection, $12. It almost turned into a $300+ dollar visit. First they said the problem was the brakes fluid leaking and that it would be $214, I don't know much about it and that's probably what they prey on. Young girls who don't know much about cars. So I agree and about an hour and a half later, I get a call from the shop that it'll actually be more because it's the rear axle fluid leaking and it would be a hundred bucks more minimum and if more work was necessary. Well I called my dad to check this out because this was getting a bit excessive. He talked to the guy and I got back on the phone. My dad told me that was suspicious because the brake fluid is light and thin and the rear axle is sticky and dark so to confuse the two would be a rookie mistake. Well I decided to go elsewhere for an inspection and wouldn't ya know it, the vehicle passed! The only thing the other shop said I needed was a back windshield wiper blade. It was a waste of my time and theirs and I noticed how sour the attitude got once I declined hundreds of dollars of work. I hate writing bad reviews for companies but I don't think I was treated fair. So that's that. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I go to school in springfield and was having car trouble so I knew I had to take it in before I drove back to my hometown for summer. I went to Daytona's, they did fix the issue but they tried to tell me that my spark plugs were the originals and that they needed to be replaced very soon. They appeared to be honest people so when I came home I went to my regular mechanic, who is a close friend and very trustworthy, and he said he checked the spark plugs and they were not the originals! Daytona straight up LIED to me. The plugs were totally fine! I think since I am a girl they tried to take advantage of my little knowledge of cars. I am UNHAPPY. Don't take your car there, they do have a nice facility but not worth it when you're getting ripped off. They "replaced" my friends air conditioning but it still doesn't work even after going back multiple times. Do not waste your time and money. Don't let them touch your car. read more

I have just started writing reviews for everywhere I go in life. I went to this place a year ago or so ago and the gentleman gave me an amazing discount on a repair I needed , I was thinking I finally found a place to call my shop for my car. The gentleman told me he would do the same price on my other wheel if I bring it back when I have more time ( I was short on time due to work). I comeback and he was not there ,I explained and showed the receipt of my last visit to the manager , he told me it was a mistake and offered to do it for 60 bucks more, I did'nt say much but felt lied to but needed the repair so I asked if they offered loaner cars or a shuttle service to work so as I needed to get to work and had only been there once , I was shocked by the response of " we are not a taxi service ,we fix cars" and the guy had a very rude tone,needless to say I walked out and will never go back nor send anyone to there place of business as the gentleman could have simply told me no they do not offer these services. It could have been a bad day for the guy or something but you NEVER talk to customers with a VERY rude tone and be a smartass. read more
