This was my first time visiting and overall I had a mixed experience. The bowls are a bit small for the price. Most of the bowl was rice with vegetables and very little meat, especially in the steak bowl. For that price, I expected a fuller bowl and a bit more protein. I also asked if the food was fresh and was told it was, but when I tried the steak it was cold and a bit tough, almost like it had been sitting for a while. The flavor overall was okay, but everything tasted very greasy, even the vegetables. The service at the counter felt a little awkward. Since it was my first time, I asked how ordering worked but didn't really get an explanation, so the interaction felt a bit confusing. However, I do want to mention something very kind that happened during our visit. While we were eating, my kids were not really eating their food, and I think the owner noticed the situation was becoming a little tense at the table. Out of nowhere he came over, spoke kindly to them, and brought them ice cream. It was a very thoughtful gesture and you could tell he probably has kids himself and understood the situation. That moment honestly meant a lot and helped lighten the mood. Overall, the food was okay, but the portion size and price didn't quite match for me. This is perfectly good chicken, including two homemade sauces given in abundance. My niece and nephew enjoyed the fried rice over their usual preference for white. Our service was very fast. Dining there is very functional; I saw a few parties eating there, but you might be more comfortable with this as take-away. I liked the mixed vegetables and string beans with onions. Went here for dinner a few nights ago after my dad suggested it. I got a "half chicken" platter w/fried rice, mixed vegetables and fried plantain with Horchata as a drink and the FOOD WAS FIIIRREEE!! The owner is a real cool dude as well, welcomed us into his restaurant with open arms and made everyone in there feel very comfortable. So the food being amazing was the cherry on top! Great Peruvian chicken! Went as a family and the 1/2 chicken feeds my husband, my almost 2YO son, and myself. The fries in my photo were after I grabbed some for my son. The sauces are so good - they make their green sauce a little spicier than the Super Rico in Stafford. Also, their fries are super crispy and so yummy! Deliciousness - 4/5 Happiness - 3.5/5 I was really surprised by this place. Really good food as part of a massive menu. I'll definite be back. I get worried that some restaurants overextend themselves by having massive menus. Although not quite cheesecake factory lengths, this giant menu contains a lot of delicious food. My number 1 recommendation is the bistec. We got the one with fries and eggs and it was beyond tasty. The steak was wonderfully marinated and had a great depth of flavor. It paired incredibly well with the crispy fries and perfectly cooked eggs that had a ton of runniness. I also quite enjoyed the charcoal chicken - it balanced the char on the skin with juicy, moist chicken inside. I also thought the plantains and fried rice were tasty sides. There were a couple things I'd avoid. I sprung big for some lamb chops. I found them over-seasoned and also, you get only 4 tiny chops for over $20.00. I know lamb is generally expensive but it definitely was not worth the price here. I also found the wings were very unremarkable. They were more skin than meat, making them too gummy. Given the other much better options, there's no reason to get them. The restaurant itself is bright and clean. That said, it took a very long time to get my food (about 20 minutes or so). Given that it's set up to cater to to-go orders, I thought that was way too long. They also didn't have some of the flavors advertised for the wings. But overall I can't wait to make my way through more of the menu! read more

Food was flavored very well and all the size was awesome also. So today March 23rd 2025 I decided to go back and try the red snapper. All I can say is it was cooked to perfection the flavor was great and I tried two different size and they were good as well. I typically get breast and wing piece and a leg and thigh piece when I order 1/2 chicken. Lately, I've been getting all dark meat. Their other foods are actually pretty good, but the food item that the restaurant is named after could use a lot of improvement. They are able to do it since they did it before. I've been around all the chicken spots around the Woodbridge area and their pollo a la brasa is basura. It's pricey, chicken is dry and lacks flavor. Their sides don't look appetizing, it looks like it's been sitting out all day without being heated or turned. Definitely not worth the price. I tried ordering a steak and cheese and they run out of bread like the grocery store isn't walking distance from restaurant. Also - very stingy and cheap with their aji/salsa verde/green sauce. First of all, it's not that great! They act like it's a secret recipe of something. I'm a big fan of spicy and I always buy an extra 8oz worth of sauce (usually $3-$5). They refused to give me extra. They gave me 4 puny ass dipping containers worth. This was a big turn off for me. I'm offering to pay extra for it and you tell me no?! I actually needed it for their dry ass chicken. The mixed veggies were good, well seasoned, chopped for easy access. The pinto beans were outstanding, very nicely seasoned. The star of the show, the Beyoncé of birds, was some of the BEST chicken I've had! The skin was flavorful and crispy. The meat, dark and white, was soooo juicy.
