I went in last night and dined in with a friend for dinner. I ordered the Carne Asada. The food was pretty good! I was very impressed considering the atmosphere being a little "off." There was nobody really in the restaurant, and no music, and I just found that strange for a restaurant - or any business really. There was a point where I was looking for our waitress to ask for a glass of water, but she was talking with someone so she didn't see me flagging her down or hear me yelling. My friend got up and found her, and was trying to get her attention and it still took her a couple of seconds to realize someone was talking to her. That was a little off putting. I had called to pickup , the female on the phone said the price would be a estimate of 18$ for my Ceviche & that it would be ready in 15minutes ...no problem Once so, I arrive & go in all, see the location from the exterior & interior & I was pleased , everything was normal until I noticed what appeared to be my order & I was indeed right it was on the counter, When I have to pay , she tells me it totaled to 20 & some change , I was like okay taxes , I even rounded it up to 22 in tip, but before I had even taken the bag I had asked for napkins and utensils, since it was clear to me nothing was in the bag , the female goes to back & I thought it was to put the utensils, I had asked for, she comes back with the bag & I leave & say have a nice day as normal, I go to my vehicle open the bag to only notice the bag was dripping ( messy) and not only that she hadn't put neither the napkins or utensils , I was baffled, I go inside , she sees me come in Makes a face & I said I'm sorry but I would like a refund, she asked why , I said this isn't worth 20$ it was very unpresentable & not only that I told her, I had even asked you for napkins and utensils politely, as she giggled and made faces , a grown woman , she kept on looking at me as if I was a some sort of clown , she went off about how she wasn't able to give me a refund &'if I Wanted anything else in a almost demanding, bothered way like If I had owed her something, with the most atrocious most disgusting attitude and smirks I had ever witnessed in my life, going out I have never ever witnessed something like that before not even at a fast food Place , her demeanor was childlike that of a middle schoolers , saying the owner wasn't picking up the phone and that she needed his permission for a refund ???? She even had the audacity to tell me to come back to get my refund later , mind you while laughing and looking at me like I was joking with her ???? She obviously seemed annoyed I wasn't playing along with her low energy , she even tried to pay me out of her own pocket / she even asked for my # ?!! To pay me Back what is that ?? Is this not a professional establishment why did this employee feel so comfortable acting the way she was to a customer ?? Or was she the owners daughter ?? I do not know ... I would ask all my friends and people I know to leave a review on my behalf & my family who actually own their own establishments too , because this was completely unacceptable in every way nobody deserves to be treated the way I did especially when I never even disrespect or was even rude to the cashier , I was polite I always am !!! The craving for peruvian chicken hit so i decide to give in and give Justa's a try, plus my nail tech was talking about how good the chicken was so, it couldn't hurt to give it a try, right? The chicken was very moist and tender but truth be told I would have loved a lot more flavor, it was a little on the bland side. I know strange right? Especially for peruvian chicken. You become accustomed to that bold distinctive taste, yea no, not on this visit. I ordered rice and beans as my sides and asked the waitress if they were pinto or kidney. This place is not just chicken. It's the whole range of Peruvian cuisine. The claims on portion size is true, they are a bit smaller--but the quality is excellent. I shared an amazing Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos with my mother, we both ate and were filled up from that dish; so that should tell you something. The problem I think is most folks are expecting this place to just be a chicken spot, when it's so much more. I highly encourage you to explore the menu. Normally my "go to" place when I do not feel like cooking dinner for the family. My family loves the food here. They have more than just rotisserie chicken, they have a variety of food. Lomo Saltado being my favorite! It is a nice family oriented restaurant. Food is always consistent and seasoned well. Real Peruvian menu with lots of items beyond just grilled chicken...owner and staff are really great, they remember your face and always happy to see us. Do you like Peruvian chicken? Who doesn't like a good price of chicken? If your looking for a good price of chicken in a nice environment then Justa's is the place for you. When I first walked in I was greeted nicely by staff who allowed me to seat myself if I choose or get my food to go. I decided to eat in so I sat myself at a table close to the door. I noticed also that if you walked up the stairs there was a bar area, with TVs, alcohol and all, on the platform above me. I ordered a fourth a chicken with rice and yuca. My food came in a timely manner and the chicken was rather big for a 1/4 chicken (dark meat) which pleasantly surprised me. The chicken itself was juicy and very filling. The yuca was crisp and tasted amazing as did the rice. Overall my food was excellence and the waitress we had always brought me more of the yellow colored sauce when I asked. My only complaint with this restaurant is that it seemed there was only one waitress on staff so when things picked up a little, she handled herself well, but it would have been nice to know other people were working in case a rush of people came in. Good place for a quiet dinner or just to hang out with your friends and family without having to go very far. Food was good considering there are other Peruvian restaurants where the food quality it's not very good. I took my family over for dinner a few nights ago and all the dishes we ordered were okay but were a bit overpriced for my taste and took forever to make even though we were the only people in the restaurant waiting for food and one more table where two were having drinks. Overall, food was good and I will probably come back again, I just wish there was more variety as far as the dessert menu goes but oh well. The chicha morada was awesome, though!
