A sprawling complex that may work for events with a cast of hundreds but too unpleasantly loud and crowded either for the small dinner party i had arranged or even the group of 30 for which i was checking the place out. The food was generic small plates--California in the 90s. We ordered simply but the combination made us all feel a bit queasy. The ingredients of the charcuterie board were strictly supermarket quality. Having read positive reviews, we were extremely disappointed. Just one more reason we leave Rockford when we decide to dine out. I should say in fairness it was a busy night and our server, a good humored young man from New York was very good and made sensible suggestions on wine. First time visiting Hidden Creek Estates and we reserved an igloo experience. The decor in the igloo was so cute, there were a couple heaters to keep us warm. Everything was perfect from the service to the amazing food. The menu is not big and I believe it changes often. We shared a bottle of Prosecco. We got the meat and cheese board and added honeycomb, the cornmeal fried catfish, braised beef cannelloni and chocolate rasberry mousse gateau. Everything was amazing. I had my wedding at Hidden Creek Estates and will never regret that decision. It was a beautiful event that guests could not stop complimenting. The outdoor and indoor aspects were perfect for a hot summer day. The staff was always willing to help and did so many things without ever needing to be asked. As well run of a venue as I have ever seen. Their kindness, communication, and care for our wedding from the second we signed to the second we left the property was nothing but extreme professionalism. They helped so much throughout the process and it felt like having a huge support system the entire time. A perfect venue with a perfect staff! We have also been to the restaurant once before and thoroughly enjoyed our experience with that. On wedding weekend, we had their Sunday buffet breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! French Toast, bacon, baked goods, tons of fruits, and more. If you are thinking of touring Hidden Creek or booking them, absolutely do it! read more

Her cocktails alone are worth the visit! The Charred Corn and Mushrooms appetizer was the perfect way to start -- beautifully prepared with a subtle kick from the arugula, a drizzle of smoked chili oil, and earthy, roasted flavors that set the tone for the meal. For dinner, the Lobster Tortelloni was an absolute standout. Attractive grounds and restaurant with tons of ambiance and attentive service. It's a shame that the food was just okay and portions were so small. Ham and potato chowder was tasty, though less than a cup. The small barely flavored chicken breast was just okay, though the potatoe and mushroom sides were good. Worst was the store bought cheese cake cut into the smallest possible slice and the "chocolate mousse" that was clearly only Jello pudding. I might return for the looks on a special occasion, but not the food. read more

If I could give negative stars I would I had to give one star in obligation, this is by far the worst venue I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My sons wedding was scheduled for a day with thunderstorms and my daughter in law and I met with the venue two days prior to the wedding to talk about the weather and have it changed to be inside due to the weather. They still insisted on keeping it outside and it literally ruined the entire experience. The dinner area flooded and my son and daughter in law never even got to come out to their head table. People were literally sitting with ankle deep water while they were eating. The staff was exceptionally rude and we had the place from 3-10 they started cleaning during the wedding at 8pm throwing out drinks that were paid for and even in custom Huggies. They went even further to throw away heirlooms on a table that was designated for the cake and cards. We had to pay extra for damages to decorations that were rented because of their negligence and they offered no compensation for it! They then went on to say that they lost money and we were the worst wedding they have ever had. Talking bad about our guests and everything. We are Mexican and I don't like to think things are racially charged but I do feel like we were treated poorly because of it. I would absolutely never recommend this place to anyone it's a rip off at best. read more

Beautiful estate only a mile east of the interstate but immersed in the countryside. Incredible ambiance with restored barn and deck overlooking large patio and pond. Below barn wine bar with speakeasy back room for more intimate wine tastings. Food service from "food truck" was outstanding with limited but delicious entrees and apps paired with wide selection of beverages! Wait staff was super friendly and helpful. Hidden Creek is hands down my favorite restaurant in the area. The menu changes weekly based on what is locally available. Every item I've had off the menu has been delicious. The drinks are also amazing. They have a very generous drink menu, and host events like cigar night and murder mystery dinners. The recently redid the outdoor patio and it is also beautiful. A lot of life music and activities for kids. This place is a must. The staff are also amazing!! read more

Hidden Creek has gorgeous views, attentive staff, and delicious options for food. They also have a wine list that is 100% the best in the surrounding 50 miles at least. I will go back any chance I can! A friend and I enjoyed a beautiful white wine from France, and a charcuterie board that housed an amazing aged Wisconsin cheddar.. So I can't speak to this place as a wedding venue, but I can say that they have an awesome wine bar! Wednesday through Friday nights, they are open for cocktails and have a food truck and live music. They keep the website pretty up to date with what the music and food options are that night. There is a lot of outdoor seating with fire pits and heaters, and you can bring your own chairs or blankets. Servers come around to the outdoor tables and take drink orders or help tend to the fire. The wine selection is not huge, but it's decent. They had some nice bourbons for tasting-I spied Weller, Eagle Rare, and some other good stuff. read more
