They were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, funny, safety oriented & made an effort to make sure that all guests had an amazing time. My group had just missed the ferry (coming in from Cancun) and they still accommodated us & made sure we made our reservation when they had no obligation to. Not to mention they were extremely responsive & easy to communicate with during this whole fiasco. They brought us to absolutely stunning locations & I have never swam with as many schools of fish as I did during this tour. Jesús was even willing to help me get a closer shot of the underwater statues. They educated our group on best practices to preserve the reef (which I already am aware of, but appreciate for the less-informed) & stopped the boat when a plastic bag got caught in the wind so that they could fish it out to reduce on ocean plastic (I am very keen on leaving as little of an impact on the world we live in). We were served sandwiches / ceviche + totopos for lunch and water / margaritas were provided. Their thoughtfulness, mindfulness & willingness to provide the absolute best experience truly outshined any excursion I have done in the past. Their service is truly unparalleled. Would highly recommend - thank you for the amazing experience!!

Ended up being around $45 per person. Seems like the reviews are more favorable on TripAdvisor. It started off a bit disorganized at first, but we finally started boarding and ended up stopping by three different reef spots along La Isla Mujeres. The current were strong but we had two guides looking out for us and taking underwater pictures for us (still pending). Boat included bottled water, margaritas, and tequila. We made sure to tip well. Lunch was included in the price at Playa Tiburón, which took place after all the snorkeling (thank goodness). Coronado fish, veggie slaw, rice, and butter spaghetti, corn tortillas, spicy sauce and salt. Our guides helped with prepping and serving lunch. Overall, we had a fun time with Island Adventures Mexico!

This could have been a pretty bad experience, but turned out well. We booked it through an outfit…read morecalled "Taste of Isla" that seemed to offer a number of activities. The reality was that they were just a virtual booking agency and didn't deliver any of them. We showed up as directed in front of Sr. Frog's and their representative never appeared. Fortunately, the good folks of Societe Cooperative Lopez Mateos were based across the street and kept asking if we had a booking. After I pulled up the email confirmation and a screenshot of the online payment to Taste of Isla, they accepted it and took us out with their group. (It was the exact same tour and I suspect that they were the operator all along - just a poor hand-off.) El Farito is the first and best site as it's shallow enough to clearly see and photograph the fish while snorkeling. MUSA is a super cool concept, but the shallowest sculptures (you'll visit 3-4 only) are in 25-30' of water and difficult to appreciate. Manchones Reef is nearby, but also more of a SCUBA diver experience than for snorkelers owing to the depth. The captain & DM did a good job of keeping our group of 12 corralled. The only issue is that you're diving from a small panga and the portable swim ladder over the side can be tough to climb if you're elderly, overweight or have other mobility issues. The lunch on Playa del Tiburon was pretty basic, but given the $45 cost of the entire package it was hard to complain. You could either ride back to the harbor with them or stay at Tiburon for a massage and drinks and grab a taxi back later. It's a nice little excursion if it's not too windy.

If you want a real immersive experience of snorkeling PLEASE book with them. Really amazing…read moreservice. Initially I was skeptical because a random guy on the street in Isla Mujeres out the Embarcadero approached me for a snorkel tour. I love underwater life but I am not a good swimmer but he assured that he will keep me safe and will show me corals, underwater arches and caves, and oh boy! he delivered. I was snorkeling for atleast 1.5 hours and he paid extra attention to my whereabouts. Btw this tour is not very pricey either, cheaper than most I found online. Special shout out to Brayon (my tour guide) who made my experience memorable. I wish I could give more stars

It seems like maybe we got lucky with timing, but we just walked in and booked a package. They push hard to add on a photo package. I said no thanks. They ended up dropping the price some and bumped us up to the VIP package. They can definitly neogiate on price! Swimming with the dolpins and manatees was very cool. We also really enjoyed snorkeling with the sharks and sting rays. The package was nice. The buffet food was fine enough. I'm glad we came here. We had a fun easy day on Isla Mujeres!

The photos and descriptions make it seem like you'll be snorkeling in an enclosure with a handler…read moreand their dolphin. They even sell upgraded experiences for longer times and two dolphins. The truth is they run 2 encounters per day and you'll be there with 50+ other tourists. There's a big upsell at the beginning as they try to persuade you to buy a photo package and/or upgrade to the Garrafon VIP package if you bought a combo ticket. (Be aware that ferry to Garrafon is $15/person extra vs a cheap cab ride.) There's no pre-encounter video or briefing explaining their mission or the experience. They don't even make the effort group the gringos together so that the handler can speak in English - and 40 minutes is a long time to wonder what they're saying in Spanish. It seems that you're grouped by which package you paid for, but we paid for the single dolphin experience and ended up in a group with two. They split you into a half dozen groups and then station you around the perimeter of the enclosure. The handler then leads you down to a submerged metal platform (trust me - you'll want reef shoes for this!) to stand in a line. They provide some commentary about dolphins and then swim the animal back and forth to allow everyone to pet it. Each person will then have 3 interactions: fin/handshake, nose-to-hand targeting and a dolphin kiss. If you didn't buy the photo package, they'll make another attempt to sell you this. You can hang out around their pool in lounge chairs and even grab lunch (depending on the ticket type you bought). It's an OK experience if you have kids or really love dolphins - just not a fantasy experience.

We did the whale shark excursion with Mexico Divers today. I will break the review into two parts…read more The booking process and the actual excursion. Booking process- We walked in - in person - to book the excursion. The employee was very friendly and professional. She explained everything throughly. My only gripe is they charge a 10 percent service charge to pay with a card. When the excursion is expensive - with a group - that charge can add up quickly. We were quoted $30-$35 USD cheaper all over the island. Based on a recommendation, we booked anyway - after walking to find an ATM - this was inconvenient. The excursion- The captain and guide were amazing. They took us out to swim with the whale sharks and we hit the jackpot. We also swam with mantas - which was awesome. On the way back, the captain made pitstop so the group could do a little snorkeling. Everyone loved it. Again, my only gripe was the service charge - if that wasn't there - or if it was around 3 percent - I would give a 5.

I signed up for the refresher course, which was right before the dive, so it only added an hour and a half to the total time. Marie, my instructor, was AWESOME. I was pretty stressed out during the start of the first dive, and she knew exactly how to chill me out. By the second dive it felt like old hand. Also... the museum and reef were super cool, too :) Highly recommended.
