I paid to stay and park here then was treated like a nuisance instead of a paying customer. My husband and I were happy we got one of the en suites so that we could have a bit more privacy but we only expected to use the lofty to park, sleep, and shower so we really didn't see any issues arising. Unfortunately, I was so wrong with this expectation. Monday, we pull into the behind lot and park in one of the spots labeled "DCLOFTY" which would make sense since that's where we were staying. Tom told me through email that they were expecting me to be parking in the lot for the week. There's no signage so we were about to walk around to the front door when a voice just yells out "You can't park there". I'm like, oh no, we're checking into DC Lofty. He's like, you can't park there move to the next spot and you can come in this way. We're like, um okay, but I'll listen even though this guy didn't even introduce himself. I moved the car one to the right from the last spot on the left. We go in and Jessica kindly checks us in. We had a tiny issue with my license still having a nearby address on there, but that's understandable since it was on the site that you can't stay there with a nearby address. Thankfully, my husband has our actual address on his license. Anyway, I explained that we would need my car the next day and she assured me that the lot never fills up and told me to park in the spot I was in originally, after she checked with management. All is well, we change and are about to head out for the night when Jessica apologizes and tells me I have to move my car over again because she misunderstood. Not a problem, she caught us before we headed out for the day. That's three times I moved my car that day if you're not keeping track. Tuesday, there was not an issue at all. My car was not blocked in and I parked in the same spot upon return. Wednesday, we also ended up driving and when we got back to the lot, every single spot was taken except one. It was the spot behind the one we were told not to park in. Since it wasn't that spot, I figured there would be no issue. There was a smaller vehicle parked in front so I just left room in front of me so that they could get out since no one was parked to our left (those are not DC Lofty spots). I paid for parking so if they didn't want me parking there then they shouldn't have let other people park in the lot knowing I had already paid. Wednesday night, they left the music on and loud all night. They have music on during the day but had been turning it off when the office is closed so it wasn't an issue at all. Until Wednesday overnight. I did not sleep well at all. Thursday, we were out all day. We returned back to change to be out that night. It was our date night. We're out, having fun, enjoying our vacation when I see I missed a couple of calls and that I have a voicemail. I listen to the voicemail and in it I'm being threatened that if I do not move my car, it will be towed. Mind you, I'm paying $20 per day to park in the lot and I'm not parked illegally, but I am being threatened with an illegal action. We finish up our night when we decide to because this is ridiculous that we can't enjoy our vacation. We get back and there's a little diagram on our door, thank you for showing the other guests which car is mine by the way. We go and move my car because even though I could sue if I were actually towed, who wants to deal with the money and time it would take? I notice that it's not the same car parked in front of me that was there when I parked the night before. That means the owner parked herself in front of my vehicle and left herself ample room to get out of the spot but is threatening to tow a paying customer just because I'm parked in a spot behind her. Obviously the previously parked car was able to get out of that spot and she was able to get into it. I walk in and ask the employee for the owner's contact information and name. She can't hear me so I raise my voice. She tells me she can't give me that information. I'm like, excuse me no, I'm a paying customer and I've had to move my car multiple times and I was threatened with being towed but I can't speak with the person who is threatening me? This is horrible customer service. She calls the owner and tells her I would like to speak with her. She supposedly tells the employee that I can email her at the generic email for DC Lofty or I can wait until 11am tomorrow (check out time) and speak with her then. We had plans for our last day in DC so no, I was not about to let this selfish person effect our vacation once again. Meanwhile, she's already on the phone with the employee but does not care enough to talk to me at that moment. There is a gas station very close by off of 9th street where you can pay $15 per day to park instead. We had some other issues with our room itself but I don't have the space for that here. Do not stay here. read more
