The hotel is nice. The lobby was decorated for the holidays when friends stayed here. The hotel staff are nice and welcoming. There was a convention, which made things busier. That didn't affect service. The location is convenient.

Centrally located and fantastic staff! Washington Plaza offers a great experience for a reasonable price. I recommend checking for special weekend deals. The restaurant is a must - even if you are not staying there. Amazing staff, menu and prices are reasonable.

Overall a very enjoyable stay! Staff are friendly and very attentive (I don't think I had to hold a door open myself a single time I was there) my only issue is the design of the bathrooms.... They look like something from a hospital mental institution. Felt and looked very much like a public bathroom. Water temperature and pressure was not great. The bathroom floor tiles were very rough and uncomfortable to walk on. Waited for the bar to open in the lobby but apparently it's the outside bar by the pool that's open for the season. Room was much smaller than expected but perfect for 2! Restaurant in lobby has a great breakfast selection. Outside pool was beautiful! I just wish that there was indoor pool and hot tubs. Gym should have privacy glass up. Awkward having people stand and watch me since it's connected to the underground parking lot. Family washroom/showers outside gym were disgusting and smelled horrible. Fish in lobby are perfect beings and I loved them. Would recommend for cheap price

Main entry and dining area... Looks like a set from MAD MEN.

NOTE: This review is only on the restaurant just off the lobby, not the cocktail lounge nor the hotel. I literally walked in later after a day of meetings and asked where the restaurant was, and what a surprise. The overall experience was well worth this stop in terms of atmosphere, food quality and service. Of course, the 1960's interior is neat to me and it is conveyed in every detail. My server was providing truly old school service, which was a treat these days. My chicken pot pie (recommended by the waiter) was just fabulous, really good and filling. My side salad and adult beverages rounded out this lovely meal. Even better, the price was fairly reasonable, ever with Washington DCs over inflated prices. All in all, if you want something a bit different yet also familiar, come here.

All 5 stars for the great customer service and manager of the restaurant in the lobby. Came here for the weekend to avoid driving back home after a night of drinking. The layout of the hotel is great and very clean. Underground parking is safe but somewhat tight if you have a bigger car. The rooms are nice but seem to be renovated as the bathrooms are somewhat small. The beds also seemed small and the pillows weren't so great either. However! The lobby restaurant was awesome. The manager came by our table several times and even took our pictures. I believe they were short staffed and our waitress did an amazing job. The food and drinks were great. Even the water was out of this world. I believe they use a filtering process. Overall it's rare to see a manager step up and help his staff and do a lot of hands on work at each table. Overall a great hotel to stay at if you are in the area. I recommend bringing your own pillows though.

Very clean and great lay out. The room my wife and I stayed in was a king bed suite. No frills room. The hotel staff was very warm and friendly. The lounge wait staff and breakfast staff were awesome. Made our DC business trip like home.

I had a lovely experience at this hotel in the summer during peak season. Rooms are very well priced. Nothing fancy but clean, large enough room and staff were very friendly and helpful. The large outdoor pool and pool deck are very nice too. They serve drinks and food out there. The hotel also has a restaurant though I didn't eat there. The hotel is centrally located for walking or using public transit to get to popular locations in DC. I would stay here again.

Nice stay good location and good service. There is so much to do in DC. And its a decent location. Rooms were clean and customer service is good too.

Friendly staff, clean albeit outdated rooms. Low score due to the entire lobby and first floor smelling like piss and marijuana.

The brick exterior coupled with the large white-walled interior provided the perfect "blank canvas" to backdrop our event. We hosted nearly 100 people and had plenty of room for a live band and bar. The reason this review earned three stars was because of venue management. An important aspect of North Hall is that they will not let you do any setup prior to the event unless you pay per hour. As an example: our event started at 5pm and we had to pay 500$ more to start setup at 3pm. The real issue arose when we were informed that we could not leave anything in a closet or kitchen in order to make the "day-of" prep easier. Management allowed absolutely nothing from entering or remaining in the space despite there being no event prior to our reception. On a positive note, the two hour setup window provided a testament to how amazing our vendors were; they created a beautiful space with no help from North Hall. The management induced plenty of undue stress by being unclear of what permits were needed for the event. They went on to remind us with little time to prepare. This issue manifested itself one week prior to our wedding day, where our wedding coordinator, my wife, and myself scrambled to get permits for food, alcohol, etc. Overall, North Hall is truly lovely, but future customers should be aware that this venue is fortified by the bureaucracy of Washington D.C. Much like your local trip to the DMV, illogical policies and the lack of regard for the individual reign supreme. Weddings are stressful and emotional, no one should have to deal with the inefficiencies of government and the shortcomings of bureaucrats on their special day.

We chose the North Hall because of the brick exterior, urban feel and large space -- big enough for 200 people. Weddings can be expensive and after an exhausted search we found that the North Hall was the best option. We are so glad we chose to host our wedding reception here! I would recommend this place for any business or social function. A few side notes: The parking was not a problem and the staff was extremely helpful. The bill is in some what of an a la cart format so try to get ALL the fees up front. Be sure to stick to the allotted timeframe so you don't have extra rental hour fees. Go with the bulb lighting! DJ Dan is the contract...they can provide the info.

We decided to stay and check it out, @1pm on a Sunday. Brunch is from 11a-4pm. There was only 1 other person for brunch, when we arrived. There was a DJ was that playing super loud music. Mostly rap music. The food was good. Fresh salad, fruit, meats etc. Unlimited mimosas was $25 per person. We could only order 1 flavor at a time, which there was about 8 flavors. They were good By 3pm, the place was more so filling up. What was crazy was at 4pm, the workers started breaking down the buffet-- quickly!! A group that had arrived @ 3 were caught off guard that brunch was ending. The workers did provide everyone with TAKE HOME Boxes, so we filled our boxes as fast as they were breaking it down lol Hookah guy arrived, think it was a total of $68. The hookah was good Gratuity is automatically included. Our waitress was GREAT! Only thing I didn't like, the place had her walking around in a tight leopard body suit, with her arms out, like this was the Playboy mansion. It was cold in there. I would come back for brunch - just know, there was not a mention of a Buffet brunch online

One of the most disappointing event experiences I've ever had…read more We purchased a VIP table for four for $2,000 because it was advertised to include premium seating, a meet-and-greet with Noora Fatehi, and photo opportunities. Unfortunately, the event failed to deliver on what was promised. The problems started immediately. The gates opened very late, creating unnecessary delays. The VIP area had no air conditioning, making the wait extremely uncomfortable. We then waited almost three hours before Noora even arrived. When it was finally time for the advertised meet-and-greet, VIP guests were kept standing in line for over an hour. To make matters worse, it appeared that several people without VIP wristbands or tickets were allowed through ahead of paying guests. After all that waiting, security began shouting "Move! Move! No photos!" and rushed everyone through. The promised photo opportunity never happened, and there was no meaningful meet-and-greet experience at all. Afterward, we were pushed back onto the main floor for the performance. Noora was on stage for less than 30 minutes, and the stage itself was crowded with security staff and other people, making it difficult to even see her. Instead of enjoying the show, we spent most of the time looking at the backs of security personnel. For the amount of money charged for VIP tickets, the organization, communication, and overall experience were simply unacceptable. The event felt chaotic, and poorly managed. The VIP package did not provide the experience that was advertised, and I left feeling completely disappointed. I was genuinely surprised to see an international artist like Noora Fatehi associated with such a disorganized event. My issue is not with the artist herself, but with the event organizers, who failed to deliver the premium experience they sold to their customers. I would not attend another event organized by this company, nor would I recommend paying for any VIP package based on my experience.
